LAST TIME, ON DRAGON BALL BROKEN DESTINYPeople assumed that cooking in a restaurant was largely a taciturn endeavor at its root, but given the sheer amount of cooking that the cooks of the Taco King restaurant empire did at the headquarters, and given the personality of the owner-cum-chef of the entire operation, Carlos Alfonso De La Reyes, there were televisions in the kitchen, and often they were tuned to one of Carlos Alfonso's favorite stations, especially when he was leading the operation as the chef for big or important orders. That station was known as 'MAMS', or Martial Arts Movie Selects, and it largely featured what were considered 'classic' or cult classic martial arts movies. Carlos Alfonso was somewhat of an aficionado of martial arts movies, especially what he termed the 'classics', and it was for that reason that on one of the days that Cayle, Konja, and the other Saiyan cooks had been apart of the workers on hand for a big order for the government of South Island itself, the televisions in the kitchens were all tuned to a martial arts movie of particular note. Called “The Turtle and the Shark” it was an off-beat movie about two bored students of the Turtle School of Martial Arts deciding to take to the seas after one of them fell in love with a beautiful mermaid. Following this, they became sailors and at one point used their little dingy to save a merchant ship from pirates by slipping up beside the pirate ship in their own small vessel and jumping aboard to fight the pirates in hand-to-hand combat. Cayle did not always like the ones which featured the Turtle School, as they often were a bit overly dramatic or outlandish but this one he remembered wholeheartedly because of the fight scenes and the humor it featured when it came to fighting with martial arts when facing the erratic movements of a boat at sea. In the movie, the aforementioned shark ended up being a mutant shark like warrior who had become a pirate warlord, and in time he went after them for revenge for their defeat of his crew. This wasn't a movie, though, and Cayle was confident about the abilities of himself, Konja, and presumably the others, so after noticing a pirate ship in the distance, he gave a nod to Konja in respect to her statement about her dream. “I'm sorry that they stick with you like that, but we'll get our revenge on them eventually and we will put an end to the threat of the Tuffle Science Executive. And next time we see one in power armor, you have dibs. That said, remember the Turtle and the Shark? That movie? We're about to re-enact it sort of."It was then that the blonde android that Rango had hired to go along with them as apart of the team for this mission finally came to Cayle to ask him his question, and Cayle shrugged his shoulders. “We're supposed to rendezvous with them somewhere around here, I think. That's what that word means, right? Meet up. Anyways, then we're supposed to follow his ship and he's going to use aerial drones to try to find out where they are, as we're in the area of the sea which he was already in when he almost found it before..” he stopped then, heading towards the controls of the ship and then turning to the others, “ANYWAYS... Hang on everyone! We're doing a boarding action.” Then he took the controls and sped the medium sized taco boat forward, using its propeller and engine as opposed to its sails. They would make it up beside the ship carrying the pirate flag in no time at all, even though it somewhat surprised him that a ship would carry a pirate flag like out of a movie, while out at sea, none-the-less be carrying a full set of sails and rigging in addition to what he assumed was likely a motor. Was this some sort of SailPunk aesthetic these pirates were going after? IT didn't matter. It was beat down time. [689]

When he had approached Cayle, he appeared to be busy talking to someone, a woman. He had waited for him to finish talking before he asked what he did, not wanting to interrupt; it was one of the things that the doctor always reminded him never to do, never interrupt someone in the midst of a conversation. It felt as if he had been getting scolded like a child when he said that - having interrupted the bespectacled scientist whilst he was on a video call with one of his associates at another secret base not long after they had defected from the Red Ribbon Army - and Vidar still recalled the tone which Doctor Kringle took to tell him, to teach him that lesson. He was firm, but he was not cruel. At least, he was not with Vidar, his creation and his project.
Once Cayle finished discussing, whatever it was he was talking, with the woman, he spoke up.
He didn't know who the woman was. Her identification did not exist in his data banks, he had scanned her using facial recognition and gotten nothing, but that was to be expected as he had been in a medically induced coma in stasis for fifty years. But, then, neither did Cayle's identification. However, as he looked at the two of them, his eyes giving off a soft yellow luminescence that stood out somewhat more due to the black color of his sclera, he began to create a profile for them, a dossier, as he had done with Hebihime. He would ask them their names when his question was answered. But, for the moment, his eyes were scanning them just as thoroughly as he had scanned Hebihime. Height, weight, measurements, and every detail he could pick up just from looking at them and scanning them, all of it was catalogued in a dossier. Though, for the moment, the mental files were dubbed JOHN DOE and JANE DOE.
According to John Doe, they had been instructed to go this particular area of the sea. They were going to rendezvous with the strange flasher robot in order to find something someplace. Though he hadn't been very forthcoming with information with Vidar, he had sent him to the dock, so that was something, at least. The odd android was going to use drones to find out where who was? He hadn't been given information about hunting a person down. "Who is it we are currently looking for? I was not given much information on the task we are supposed to be doing. He merely told me to go to the dock and board this vessel."
Cayle turned away though, and began to make his way toward the controls of the ship.
"May I ask your name?" He questioned as soon as Cayle stopped talking, having answered his question as best he could with the limited information he too had. Though he asked the question to Cayle, he did peer over at the woman as well, as if he were directing the querie at her as well.
Boarding action? His bright yellow eyes fell on the ship with the pirate flag. His eyes scanning over the black flag as it fluttered in the sea breeze. He had never seen a pirate flag in person. He had only seen images of them, and of course in the pirate movies that one of the scientists particularly enjoyed watching. Yes, he recalled seeing some of those movies; when he was entering stasis, he would lay in his pod, and at times that scientist would allow him to stay awake long enough to watch the movie play through, to watch the swashbuckling adventures of pirates and buccaneers, of damsels and of sword fights. He never understood the point of the movies, and he did not hear most of the dialogue - as the pod was, for the most part, soundproof - but he did manage to read their lips as he lay inside his pod. Occasionally he would see them mouthing things such as "hoist the jolly roger" and he would question within his mind, who exactly was this Roger individual, why was jolly, and why were they hoisting him up anywhere?

Will was flying on his Nimbus over the open sea, patrolling as he usually does. This time he is looking for pirates that he has been hearing been very active in this area. At least these pirates are out on ships on the open sea instead of in the sky or from space or something. Although how can he tell a pirate ship from a regular one? Surely they won't do the stereotype of the jolly roger flag and instead have an unassuming vessel that they could surprise attack ships with. And soon Will find himself to be proven wrong as he looks down and sees what looks to be an old fashioned pirate ship flag and all. Either these guys watched too many old pirate movies or they wanted to embrace these stereotypes for the heck of it. Wonder if they have a map leading to hidden buried treasure that he could take so he could be set for life. The dojo he could make with a chest filled with old gold, jewels, and the like would be the envy of the Martial Arts community. He then looks over to see a fast-food boat, someplace called Taco King it seems. It seems the pirates are heading towards it. He then begins flying towards the pirate ship so that he can board it. But then he feels a familiar presence. One he remembers quite well. Cayle, the alien man who calls himself a Saiyan. Who bested him so badly just feeling his suppressed energy is giving Will phantom pains from their previous encounter. Is he currently eating on that boat while the pirates are about to plunder it? Whatever the reason it seems the pirates are in more trouble than that Taco King boat is, but Will still can't condone piracy so he flies towards the pirate ship so he can beat them all up and let the authorities take care of the rest as he usually does. That is unless Cayle doesn't end up destroying their ship and killing them all with one punch first. He then jumps off of his flying nimbus and goes in for a flying kick. Kicking the lookout on the crows nest unconscious right before he is about to tell his crew mates about the incoming boat. So far, no one seems to know that he is on board. Perhaps he can deal with these pirates stealthily.
He then begins to sit down in a meditation position as he feels out and spreads his senses for any signs of life on the pirate ship while being hidden in the crow's nest. So he can get a good idea how many of them they are, where they are, and how strong each of them is. He needs to formulate a careful plan, he can't just go in and punch each and every one of their lights out. This requires tact and patience, two things which he has trained to have. He just doesn't hope that Cayle would see the pirate ship and acts first.

Post by Konja of Clan Korm on Nov 24, 2019 10:31:07 GMT -8
"We all have a load to carry from those days," Konja mused as she looked out to sea. While she didn't much enjoy this salty water as much as the fresh water of rivers and lakes, there was a certain vastness to this type of body of water, one you did not quite get from the others that were constrained by land. Yes, a like might have been quite large, but the shoreline always reminded you you were on the ground. Out here? Was quite literally for her, a whole new world. Especially under the water, where she had, with the proper equipment, found and caught a number of impressive leviathans for the fishmongers. For now though, a ship approached them overhead. "We just deal with them differently..." With a smirk, she cracked her knuckles at the mention of the film, implying a connection to the ship that was coming in to meet them. "As for the movie... I'm hoping they have an actual shark-man on this ship." The pirate flag, the skull and crossed bones on black, flew above. She couldn't believe it... this really was going to be like that movie. That was when the machine-man asked a question. It seemed that he was even more clueless than herself, as he didn't even know what they were after. Moreover, he seemed rather... confused, due to the complete lack of context. She'd heard their contractor was strange, but he must have been quite something if he could get other people to agree to do errands for things they had no idea about. That, or the machine-man enjoyed doing such errands, or perhaps used it as an excuse to go on an adventure... Cayle's answer didn't help too much, and seemed to assume that he at least had some sort of context of the situation at hand, but that didn't appear to be the case. As her friend took to the controls to take them to engage the pirate ship, the machine-man asked some additional questions, an attempt to truly establish the context of what they were doing all the way out here at sea. Not wanting Cayle to lose his concentration, and noticing that the machine-man had turned her way now, Konja found it in their best interest to take on the task of attempting to explain the situation with the little that she understood. The polite machine-man, however, decided that introductions were in order as well, to which she walked up to him and, learning the traditions of her planet, held up her hand to offer in a shake. Some of the cooks had demonstrated it to her before, understanding that they were from a different tribal sort of society with different customs from those who dwelt in this civilization. "I am Konja of Clan Korm, a Saiyan first of all. I am a farmer by profession, and a warrior by culture."Farmer by profession, warrior by culture, cook by contract, militia scout by designation, grappler by combat specialty, cashier by necessity, bean counter by education... She could have said all this and more, but she didn't have the patience that Cayle did with how he introduced all of his great ancestors. Granted, her idea revolved more around the things she was, which got tedious if she did it to everyone she met. With that truncated introduction complete, and whatever his reaction to her offer of a handshake was, she went on to address his question of context. The strange employer of theirs truly was unusual. "The strange man has hired us to locate a bunker constructed by the Tuffles, an ancient enemy of my people. I believe he seeks treasures sealed within. Their technologies and the like." Of course, she came aboard to demonstrate her superiority to that technology, much like she was certain that the King conquered the planet despite their best efforts. But so long as they brought back some functional samples and construction plans, there was certainly no harm in slaying a few powered troops, if there were any around... That was the very foundational context of this whole matter. After that, one needed to zero in on the details, and she would have to tackle it one question at a time, given her limited knowledge of the matter. After all, if she said too much, she might make a mistake and worsen the situation, pushing the machine-man from 'confused' to 'misled'. "He has hired two groups of people, one of which is ours. And so, as of right now, our intention is to meet up with this other group, which I... think has gone ahead of us... and we can search for the bunker together."The boat closed in on the pirate ship and her mouth slipped into a predatory smirk. Finally, a bit of a work-out before crushing some Tuffle skulls! "For now though, we will be warming up with these pirates. I'm sure they wouldn't mind if we cracked their bones." she lined herself up to the side that would face the scoundrels' vessel. "If the movie is accurate, they love a good fight as much as any Saiyan!"As the distance began to close and features of the vessel became more apparent to the naked eye, she couldn't help but sense a strong presence up in that basket atop one of the higher masts. She recognized it from the movie as the place where the lookout stayed. Odd that someone so strong would be up there so high. "Cayle, I'm going for their lookout. His power is enough that I can feel him from all the way out here..."[939] Cayle Pota Vidar (PROJECT: RAGNAROK) Kiryu Hebihime Jack Pota Ty zer0gravitea Will O. Wisp

Post by Kiryu on Jan 1, 2020 23:08:10 GMT -8
The salt spray of the sea filled Kiryu's nostrils, the sun glinting off of the waves as their boat carved a path through the ocean. With his companions gathered around him, and the potential for battle on the horizon (in a very literal sense), Kiryu could feel his pulse begin to pound. Almost in time with the crashing of the waves, Kiryu's blood thundered through his veins, adrenaline spiking, heightening his senses, bringing the world into sharper focus.
As the ship neared, Kiryu felt several powerful energy signatures. Not only did he sense some coming from the pirate ship, but Kiryu's attention was drawn by another ship as well. Kiryu could only hope that those on board were allies and not enemies, because as it stood, they had rather a lot to deal with... since the pirate ship decided to take that moment to open fire.
Kiryu had expected to hear the report of cannon shots and, with his greater than normal vision, see large, spherical balls of iron coming their way. That was not what he saw. There was the report of artillery being launched their way, but then, there was the sound of a second explosion. Kiryu saw that some sort of advanced technological shell had been launched, and from it, several projectiles had exploded out. They were not simply coming down in an arc, they were veering towards Kiryu and his companions.
"Shit," Kiryu swore. Wasting no time, Kiryu swiftly conjured a spell. He had never really tried to do anything like this on so large a scale, so his on the fly magic would require all of his focus.
"Ty! Watch my back,i'm going to take care of this attack!"
I hope, Kiryu thought to himself as he gathered his energy.
Kiryu could create pocket dimensions, small extradimensional spaces to hold items, items he could then summon at will for use in battle. Kiryu had never tried to use the ability defensively before... and frankly, he did not know what carving such a large swath in reality would actually do. He would have to be careful to keep the spell from disrupting the area or... he did not know what might happen.
Growling with the effort, Kiryu forced his power to coalesce, the air crackling as, with an exertion of will, Kiryu rent it asunder. He stretched the opening wide, the width of the ship, and made it about ten feet tall. A yawning black void appeared, and into it, the projectiles flew, thankfully keeping the ship from harm.
Safe from harm for the moment.

Rango only had two options, attempt to flee, or anchor down in position hoping the people he hired would simply take care of it. Upon closer inspection through a spyglass, he watched the Taco King ship crash into the black sailed vessel, and so he anchored the ship, and joined the others on the sun deck. “Aye, I don’t know who those pirates are but it appeared they have a hold of that lost technology we are looking for, the other vessel is the additional crew I hired for this job.”A bright yellow cloud hovered above the yacht labeled Euphoria, a black and white cat was on it, the cloud jettisoned across the sky to close in on the black sailed ship in the distance and landed on the crow’s nest. Tiger Lily widened her eyes as Kiryu ignored their conversation to turn his attention to the sudden booming sound of artillery, she immediately sprung into action to stand up, and shuffled behind him to look in the same direction of the sound. A large solid black portal appeared, as it seemed he was in full control over, the missiles went through it with air flowing into it as it picked up momentum across the surface of the water, and then disappeared into nothing. “That...is amazing!” Ty said with a smile but then focused her attention to their problem, “Right! Dangerous pirates up ahead. Huh, another ship? Oh, I see it now. Hmm, is that Cayle?”
While the situation was still dangerous, she pulled out her phone to call Cayle since she detected his unsuppressed power level, and hearing the click that he answered she spoke first. “Cayle, I am about two leagues north west from your present location, according to Rango he hired you for a lost technology job, we’re on his ship called the Euphoria, and some pirates just fired at us with missiles. It looks like you’re presently engaged with them so we’re standing by… I think, is there more than one ship?”
Just as she said the last word, a scope appeared above the surface of the water, it belonged to a submarine, four torpedoes were fired in front and rear of the under water vessel; two were aimed at the crash site. Rather than wait for the remaining two torpedoes get close enough to have Kiryu adjust his portal, she fired two energy blasts at the torpedos heading towards the Euphoria to detonate early, the explosion rocked the boat with crashing waves followed by getting rained with salty water. “Uh, Cayle, I think they are not alone, they have subs! I have to hang up now.” Ty put away her phone and helped Rango back on his feet as he fell flat on his back from the impact. “Rango, stay with Aisling below deck, Kiryu and I will have to figure out how we’re going to protect the ship.”As Rango retreated under the deck, Ty looked around for the submarine, which was no longer in view, taking advantage of being below the depths of the ocean. “Well, it seems like we’re going to have to swim...unless you have other ideas, Kiryu?”

Cayle responded to the question of his name almost instinctively, as if it was something as routine as brushing his teeth, combing his hair, or breathing. Even as his focus was on driving the boat up alongside the pirate ship, he answered the android in a rather serious manner, though it might have been confused for nonchalance given his lack of looking back at the android as they discussed things.
“I am Cayle Pota, son of Pota Potaset, himself son of Potaset Potaset... I could go on, but that's enough of my name for now, given the circumstances we are in. You can call me Cayle Pota, which is my given name.”
To what Konja said, the Saiyan former farm boy simply gave a nod, focusing on driving until they came up alongside the boat, before stopping to look at her when she mentioned the look out. There was no dibs system to fighting pirates, as far as he knew- though in the movie they did claim dibs, technically. Unfortunately for the Catman, or perhaps unfortunately for Konja, Cayle was not familiar with the power level of the cat beastman or his energy signature- because knowing that required having met someone more than once or been around them for a significant amount of time, so he said nothing of it.
Instead, he simply turned to Vidar and to Jack, giving them a nod, before preparing to leap up the forty plus feet between their boat's tech and the railing of the Pirate deck, “Come along if you want, or protect the boat. Entirely your choice, but I won't judge you either way about it.” he commented, and when he was done saying what he had to say, the Saiyan leaped upwards and made it over the railing with more than enough reach to flip and land on his heels several inches from the rails of the deck and in the middle of scurrying crew members who soon found themselves knocked out. With the four who had been around him knocked unconscious in a momentary series of blows, the Saiyan strode forward further onto the deck, powering up as he did as a way to attract everyone's attention.
As he did, he felt his phone vibrate and heard it ring and within the second ring he clicked the answer button, hearing Tiger Lily's familiar voice for a moment as he dodged several strikes and listened to her speak up. Other ships than just this one? That could be a problem, but definitely meant they needed to finish up everything on this ship and head to taking out the next ship soon there after, assuming they could even find an 'underwater boat' such as Submarines were.
He barely had time to tell her to “Be Safe.” before she hung up, and then Cayle went to work with whatever pirates came near him, shouting as he did, “Just bring out your captain already, unless you guys all want to be beat to a pulp.”

Post by Vidar (PROJECT: RAGNAROK) on Jan 9, 2020 6:55:58 GMT -8
Pirates, actual pirates; Vidar, for a moment, could not really believe that he was going to meet actual pirates, buccaneers. The cyborg had seen them in movies. There were quite a few movies he had seen in the span of time during which he was an experiment, hiding in an unknown lab in the Southern Islands with a shadowy cabal of rogue scientists, defectors from the Red Ribbon Army. The movies had always confused him. Why be a pirate? What was the goal of piracy? In some movies, the pirates were viewed as antagonists; they were dangerous, cruel, stupid, had poor hygiene, they believed in superstitious nonsense, tended to get cursed by stolen gold from ancient peoples, etc. The pirates were the bad guys in those movies, fighting a much more attractive ensemble of protagonists with much more heroic goals in mind. Save the world, save the empire, save the little people, and of course save the damsel, usually taken by the pirates as a hostage either against her will or as a willful sacrifice in order to save the heroes from a terrible demise.
On the other hand, in various other movies, the swashbuckling buccaneers were depicted as being the good guy. They were fighting for the right to be pirates, the right to be free. Piracy, in those movies, had little to do with pillaging, murdering, and raping. It had to do with freedom. The freedom to be oneself, the freedom to explore the great wide oceans, the freedom to travel and to make one's own choices; they were the protagonists. The antagonists in those films were usually those of high authority, royalty, kings, queens, those who held great power in seats of religious authority, the law, etc.
The question now was, what kind of pirate were they going to be running into? Would they be dealing with the protagonists? The heroes? The swashbuckling buccaneers who fought for freedom? Or would these be the other type of pirate? The cruel, the stupid, the malevolent, and those that would kill their own crew for a few gold pieces? Would the pirates on that ship be like the monsters he had seen in the movies?
The man whom he had spoken to earlier had introduced himself as Cayle Pota, the other individual was a woman, a saiyan. He had heard of saiyans. In fact, he had quite a lot of information on saiyans in his databanks, namely of a man named Son Goku, but also of a man named Vegeta or Vegetable, or something of that sort. Either way, he knew what saiyans were. They were an alien species, they arrived on this planet many years ago, and it was a member of their species, namely Son Goku, whom had gained the ire of Doctor Gero. Ultimately it was that same man whom the Doctor joined forces with in their attempt to stop Piccolo Daimou.
“Vidar,” He introduced himself to the woman, looking at her hand for a half second before he reached out and he shook it. He gripped her hand with a moderate amount of strength, not too much, not like he could have hurt her, he was more than sure - according to his bright yellow eyes and scanners - that she was more powerful than her external appearance led on.
WARNING. WARNING. WARNING.
His internal HUD began sounding alarms within his head. He turned, faced the ocean, an explosion rose up, water was shot up into the air as something detonated under the water and he moved quickly to the railing. His eyes glowing a searing gold as his scanners searched beneath the waves.
He saw them. There were two torpedos heading their way. The yield from just one of them could have shredded the Taco King vessel to pieces, the second was just the cherry on top of the destructive sundae.
“I’ll deal with this.”
He leapt up as he landed atop the railing, arms raised and aimed at the water as the metal plates that made up his arm, shifted, moved, and his arms were changed for them all to see. They resembled a twin pair of Gatling guns, energy glowing brightly between his metal plates in his arms, his entire body giving off an almost ethereal glow but also heat as his energy rose and his power collected, “Joker…” He commented and unleashed a hail of energy rounds that tore into the water mercilessly, sliced through the waves and slammed into one of the torpedos. The force caused the torpedo to detonate. In turn, that caused the second torpedo to burst. The force caused the sea to churn, water shot up into the air like a geyser as a dull rumbling roar filled the air due to the underwater explosions.
As soon as he was sure there were no more torpedos, his eyes turned to the source, following their trajectory in reverse to see just where the submarine was, “There. Should I fire upon the submarine?” Vidar questioned, “I am unsure if my attacks will reach but I could try.”

"I hope you enjoy a good fight, Vidar," Konja smiled at the shaking of their hands. She had been learning Earthly customs as part of the training for her occupation as one of Taco King's cashiers, and this handshake was in her mind, a resounding success. It truly was as ubiquitous as the HR trainer said, with even machine men knowing what it meant. "Because I sure do!"Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Cayle give her a nod of approval, and that was all she needed to see. The two vessels closed side by side, and Konja, having taken her place along the rails facing the pirate ship, jumped. It was child's play, of course, what with her natural Saiyan capabilities, and years of training and experience. She couldn't quite fly yet, but she was very good at jumping, especially as a scout for Korm Village's militia. Whenever they needed someone to get a good view of the enemy, they would send her. The farmer turned cashier sailed over the pirate ship's railing, deflecting a barrage of bullets with one hand and catching the other half with her other. Quicker than you could say "return to sender", she had flicked all those bullets back at their owners. Or at least, one of the three pirates who had shot at her. They were dressed up just as you would expect pirates to be, but instead of wielding those single-shot pistols and cutlasses, they had automatic weapons and mechanical swords. The former, she was familiar with, as the Tuffles had no end of those weapons, although they also occasionally fielded armaments that fired ki-like blasts of light. The latter, looked like someone combined a sword with the demon-slaying improvised weapon used by a certain one-handed movie hero who wielded it alongside a shotgun. A "chainsaw", if she remembered the word correctly. Did that make these "chainswords", then? Whatever the case, there would be time to fight against the rest of these high-tech pirates later. Well she wasn't so sure about the time... Given the amount of power level they brought with them, and that second ship - wherever it was, at any rate... probably in the direction where that gigantic gun was pointed at - this was likely going to be a short battle, even if the pirates did seem to be using the Tuffles' technology. As she rose above the sails and approached the crow's nest, the cannon fired, a single large projectile that looked all too familiar. Much like a Tuffle Multi-Launcher, albeit not quite the same... sure enough, it split up into multiple warheads that flew off into the distance, at what was likely the second ship. Beneath them, another loud report, and Vidar was quick to respond, taking care of that particular problem. Whatever it was. It was beyond her view now... Here, as she neared the crow's nest, the owner of that significant power level finally came to light, a little cat man who, were it not for his place in a pirate ship's crow's nest, was something she was likely to snuggle up to just because of that soft-looking fur. He sat in a pose that she had seen before on TV, done by certain masters of martial art, interestingly enough... A pirate martial artist, perhaps? Either way, he was about to get a rude interruption to his meditation, no matter what his power level was. Konja pulled back a fist and reoriented herself into a lying... flying...? position, and glided down at the meditating cat man with a flying straight fist. A classic opener on her end, for sure. Now it was all a matter of whether or not it would hit its intended target, or if he would catch her... WC: 628/1567 Vidar (PROJECT: RAGNAROK) Cayle Pota Ty Kiryu Will O. Wisp

Will then sensed newcomers beneath the waves and heard the sounds of explosions coming from the waters. Submarines, these pirates have submarines. That is a little more of what he expected, perhaps this ship is just a decoy to put people in a false sense of security for the submarine to take them out while the people on this ship take the valuables. These pirates are more clever than he originally gave them credit for. Though defeating them shouldn't be an issue still. It was then he felt a large presence heading towards him. With great speed, he blocked the hand of the person fighting him until he got a good look at the woman. She seemed to be fairly young, definitely matured from the looks of it, a healthy woman in a black outfit. She doesn't look to be a pirate but he can't rule the possibility out. He didn't expect them to have such a powerful individual on their side. He then got into an exchange of fists with the woman, as they both would get into a game of blocking each other strikes in an attempt to each other. This pirate woman is very adept in fighting, no doubt she has years of experience under her belt as a criminal. He then flips back up into the air as he stands onto the top of the sail. "You are a very skilled combatant, it's a shame you had to settle for becoming a pirate instead of doing greater things. It pains me to see people with such great power wasting it on such things, but perhaps there is still good in you. Change your path now and forgo your status as a pirate and leave. Make a fresh start for yourself somewhere, and I won't bring you into the authorities as well. Otherwise, you will be forced to face me at my full power." Will said.

These Pirates were not the average thugs which people likely assumed they were from their dress code, or lack of- the group dressed more like a bunch of low-wage workers who were focused on comfort than actual sailors in a maritime military force, or any other kind of navy. Some even wore the stereotypical clothing of pirates from the 'age of piracy', but there was something distinctly not honest about the whole affair. They weren't re-enactors and there wasn't a film crew, and the guns they fired at the approaching ships and the torpedoes that followed? They sure weren't canon shot.
Towards the vessel which was a child of a floating food truck and a sailing schooner, the fired torpedoes which Vidar had already detected being launched. Towards Rango's ship, another trap showed its face, as a giant beaked face with close cropped feathers which rained from gray to black to white in color and looked almost seemed sleek. A bird's face which was followed by a long feathered neck pushing out of whirlpool and moments later was standing fully out of the water. It kicked the ship which Rango had prepared away, and let out a roar.
Upon its neck was a collar which was the size of some medium sized houses. It must have been used to control it.
“KAAAAAAWWWW.” the beast let out.
The ship continued to fire torpedoes in the direction of the Taco King vessel, and pirates began to fire their motley collection of weapons as if they had military training. This was going to be a very interesting fight for our heroes, if surprises such as this kept showing themselves on the way to the Tuffle installation.

He had done it. His HUD scanners were working overtime; his unusual yellow eyes glowed a brilliant gold as data streamed within his eyesight off to the side in the peripheral vision.
VERIFYING DESTRUCTION OF TARGETS... TARGETS DESTROYED... SEARCHING FOR FURTHER THREATS...
The words just streamed down alongside his peripheral vision as his HUD searched for the source of the torpedoes. It was a submarine and it breached the water's surface not long after his barrage of energy attacks caused the torpedoes to be deflected and detonated safely away from their intended targets. The explosion of the detonating torpedoes ripped the ocean's smooth surface asunder, water splashing upwards in wild geysers and raining down as temporary rainbows streaked across the air. It was almost beautiful were it not for the fact that the source of such beauty was a violent and destructive one.
No one had given him an answer to his previous question, if he should fire upon the submarine. However, he didn't have much time to worry about the submarine as something else caused his internal sensors to go mad with warnings.
Bells and alarms went off in his head as the sea, particularly near the whirlpool, churned madly and something arose from the water.
WARNING. WARNING. WARNING.
The thing that arose from the depths was unlike anything that Vidar had laid eyes upon; even as he looked upon its immense size, its odd shape, its strange coloration, his database attempted to find something, anything, that he could compare it to. An encyclopedic knowledge of birds rushed through his head, from finches to sparrows, to flightless seabirds such as penguins. Nothing appeared to match up with what he was seeing despite it having characteristics that appeared to call out to specific types of birds. Some characteristics, yes, but all together into some strange chimeric creature, it made no sense to the blonde cyborg. Whatever it was, it appeared to be dangerous.
Something about it caught his eye, however; the collar around its long neck.
WARNING. WARNING. WARNING.
TORPEDOES FIRED. Estimated Time of Impact in...
He turned his attention away from the bird and fired onto the torpedoes once more; a hail of potent energy bullets in the same manner as he had done to take out the previous torpedoes. He could not turn to face the bird, he had to make sure that the torpedoes being fired at the Taco King did not find purchase with their target or else they would all wind up at the bottom of the cold uncaring ocean.
His targeting system pinpointed the torpedoes, they almost appeared to glow to his eyes even despite being underwater. He could follow their trajectory, where they came from and where they were headed and he fired onto them, continuing to unleash a hail of endless energy rounds against the torpedoes as he caused one to veer off, striking it in the tail and sending it off course. It detonated soon thereafter, another geyser of water soaring through the air as he turned his attention to the remaining torpedoes streaking towards them.
The pirates were unloading, firing in their direction, and when one torpedo had been dealt with, he raised one hand up and unleashed a barrage of small potent energy blasts in their direction as well; one rotating Gatling gun arm aimed down at the water, targeting the incoming torpedoes, the other weapon was aimed at the pirates, or more accurately, their weapons. He had to disarm them of their weapons. If he could do that without killing them, that would be a much better outcome.

There was absolutely no time to plan a battle strategy with Kiryu as the events unfolded before her ocean teal eyes, Tiger Lily was left with no other option but to keep the teenage magus and everyone on board safe. After the whirlpool catapulted their ship further away from the pirates and the taco king boat, she took advantage of the momentum, she rushed over to the bridge to release the anchor, and then leaped out of the window to deliberately kick the vessel the rest of the way across the surface the ocean from the bird-like creature’s grasp. At this stage in her life, she did not have the ability to fly, so she plunged into the water, and when she emerged she fired a series of ki blasts at the feathered behemoth’s visage to distract it from going after Rango’s ship.
The whirlpool carried Tiger Lily further in towards its center, she continued her barrage of blasts without a second to think of how to escape the water, and she was running out of options to closer she drew near to the epicenter.
“Cayle!” Ty managed to yell, she was unsure if the teenage saiyan could hear between the explosions of Vidar destroying the torpedoes from the submarine to keep the taco king ship safe from damage. After a couple of revolutions the red head was beginning to suffer dizziness, she winced slightly as she remained focused on the creature noting that she did little damage to it, she was hoping to annoy it long enough for it to leave the area.

It was no surprise that this meditating cat pirate immediately intercepted her punch. After all, he was meditating, not sleeping. And some, even while asleep, were somehow capable of fighting. The sneak attack having failed, it quickly evolved into a fast-paced brawl, fist to paw, foot to foot. A blinding exchange of flurried strikes that the ordinary would only be able to interpret by reading the live action combat logs on a scouter after the fact. At least, that was what she had learned that one time one of the more intelligent elites explained how the eye-mounted Tuffle device worked. Of course, Saiyans didn't need such machines per se, due to their natural warrior instincts, but it was helpful to let them know that they should never let their guard down when it came to scouters. The cat-man pulled out from the exchange and flipped back up onto the top of the mast. It was at this point that he began to speak, first commending her strength and then accusing her of being a pirate. There was more, of course, an offer to surrender, as though he were on the side of justice on this end, plus a concluding threat to reveal even more of his power level. Something clicked in Konja's head. No, it wasn't that what he was saying made no sense, at least in the present context. It was more of his threatening to unleash more of his own power. And that Saiyan blood began to boil in excitement. After all, nothing was more fulfilling than engaging with a powerful opponent? To bring honour to her clan? At this point, it didn't really matter the circumstances surrounded them, or what sense his words made. She wanted to fight him even more. Why would she even surrender? That being said, as entertaining as piracy might sound, she already had enough trouble trying to adjust to the life of a fast food cashier. So what was his game with this? It just didn't add up. Well... that could be figured out later. For now, there was no reason for them to slow down. The reactionary statement from her mouth was instinctive as it was perhaps intentionally inflammatory as she pointed an accusing finger in his direction. "Who are you calling pirate, you pirate!? You are the one sitting in this crow's nest just like a pirate would! If anyone is turning someone to the authorities, that would be me!"Not that she knew all that much about pirates outside of those films they had watched. But at least she sounded confident in what she understood pirates would do. All he was missing was that elongated pirate scouter that you had to hold with two hands. Why was he even meditating when he should have been looking out for people anyway? "Well maybe you're not that good of a pirate. A professional pirate lookout would be more watchful for prey with his long-scouter, not meditating!" That sideways observation set aside, she jumped up to resume their exchange, blow for blow. She would see this badly performing pirate's true power. He might not have been a responsible lookout, but at least he was sure to have an impressive power level! In her excitement, it could be understood why she completely failed to notice the gigantic abominable bird rise from the depths. Maybe the only thing that registered was the loud cawing of the creature, nothing more than background noise to her, between the gunfire, exploding torpedoes, and general fighting going on... 590/2157 Ty Vidar (PROJECT: RAGNAROK) Warr

"Wait she's accusing me to be a pirate? I look nothing like that and wouldn't she tell one if she was-oh wait I think I what's going on," Will thought. It seems they both made an error and thought both were pirates. Yet neither of them is a pirate. It seems both have made a critical error. She then scolded him for being a bad lookout and proceeded to try to punch Will. He could tell her punches seemed to have more energy coming off of them as she was getting excited so he took to dodging every one. As he was dodging they got so fast he whistled for his Flying Nimbus to jump and fly off before stopping behind her. He then noticed the giant bird monster the rose out of the ocean with some kind of giant collar to keep it under control, first submarines then a giant bird monster, these are the most well-equipped pirates Will has ever seen. "Wait you got it all wrong I'm not a pirate, the guy unconscious in the crow's nest was the lookout I just knocked him out and was just trying to sense out how many pirates there were. I believe we got off on the wrong foot, but I think the time for introductions must be postponed cause we have a big feathered problem to deal with first," Will explained. He then flew off on the Nimbus and around the bird, if the collar was the thing that was putting it under the pirate's control then the right thing would be to break it to free of course. The bird, however, doesn't see the flying cat as a friend and snaps at it repeatedly with its massive beak. His speed however is too fast to be able to be caught in the bird's clutches. He then jumped off onto the back of the collar behind its neck. He pushes away some of the feathers and then finds the lock of the collar and wedges his staff inside it to pry open the collar with his own strength. Will begins to unleash the restraints on more and more of his power until he can be able to break it, if he can't do it alone then perhaps he can get some assistance.
