Cade strolled into Central City as the sun finally made its way high enough to start filtering into some of the streets. He glanced down at the flier he had taken to find the address he needed: Calling All Fighters of the Southlands! The Central City Martial Arts Council is once again ready to throw our annual tourney! All fighters are welcome to participate for bragging rights, free keychains, and a cool participation trophy! Winner also gets a lifetime supply of Yamcha brand belt shampoo! Report to the Martial Arts event center at 1506 Shenron Fang way by 12:00 Noon for signups. Tournament to start by 1:00 pm. May the best of the best be our new CCMAC Champion!CCMAC takes no responsibility for any injuries incurred during this event. CCMAC requires full waivers to be signed for participation. Cade put the paper back in his pocket and ran his fingers through his hair as he studied the road signs before him. Neither seemd to give any clues so he just shrugged and started walking down the one that lead towards the center of town. Cade finally found the place after stopping to ask for directions a few times. He approached the signup desk and waited in line til he made it to the front of his queue to see a large bored looking, overweight saiyin man with dark hair tapped his pencil. He sighed before he finally looked at him and asked with a trace of exasperation, "Name?"
"Me? I'm Cade Kendrick, how's it going man?"
The man ignored his friendly question and pressed onward, "School or style you are representing?"
Cade puffed his chest out, "I'm a master of the Jaguar school."
The man shrugged, unimpressed, "Sure, great. Never heard of it. Here's your number, when you hear the call to the ring for 68, that is you. Now go and get out of my face. Next!"
Cade went into the fighting area and waited, passing his time watching some of the other matches as they ran their course. When it was his turn to fight, he managed to easily beat his first opponent, some kind of boxer. His second and third rounds were not much more challenging, and honestly he was disappointed. The only competitor he had seen that was even remotely skilled was a young man with red hair. He moved well, and seemed to be more about deflecting or just outright ignoring the blows other fighters landing and just beating the hell out of them until they dropped. Cade reckoned it would be a good fight if they met in the finals. Two more matches passed, again the first one was easy, but the semi-final round fight was actually a bit challenging. A master of jiu jitsu who was quick and strong gave him a bit of trouble at first... until he un-suppressed just a little and walloped him with a lightning fast barrage of punches to his face. As he fell, Cade left the ring to await the call for the championship round... he didn't have too long to wait.
He stood in the center of the ring, with the announcer and the other warrior, the younger red haired fighter. The announcer called out, "IN this, our CHAMpionSHIP RouND, We have two coNTENDERS WHO HavE FOughT Through tHE RANKS! On your LEFT, is CAAAAAADE KENNNNNNDRRRRRRIIIICK!. ON your RIGHT, is BERRRRUUUUUTTTTTOOOOOOOOOOOOOO no BAAAAAAAAAKKUUUURU! Gentlemen you were read the rules before this fight, keep it clean! Or at least pretty clean, and let the fight.... BEGIN!"
Cade nodded at the other fighter and reached his fist out to touch hands and called out, "Nice you met you, Berry-toe. Good luck, may the best fighter win!"

It had taken a few days, and more nights sleeping in bus station waiting rooms than Beruto would care to remember, but the red haired teen had finally arrived in Central City. In fact, his trip had actually taken a day less than planned thanks to a fortunate scheduling error that operated in the boy's favor. Unfortunately this meant that while he was in the City a day early, he was there on a day the auto wrecker was not open. It looked like he had a day to kill before his appointment with the wrecking yard to acquire the new fly wheel for his RV. Then question was now, what to do for an entire day? Beruto didn't exactly have a lot of money available to him, so hanging out in a hotel was out of the question. So was picking up the parts his employer had requested, like the auto wrecker, the parts shop was also closed today, which left the red haired ten with nothing to do except wander the streets.
His wanderings eventually took him to a particular street and along that particular street, the boy happened to notice a particular poster, and upon that particular poster, an advertisement for of all things, a martial arts competition. The stakes weren't much, but it was at least something to do and it was right up the young man's alley. “Oh sick! I'm gonna crush this!” Beruto exclaimed and took off in the direction of the miniature tournament. Navigating the streets of this new city wasn't the easiest though and the boy had to resort to looking up the address on his phone before finally reaching the venue. When he did arrive though, it was surprising to find quite the line of potential contestants. None of them looked like they would be much trouble for the teen, at least that is what his ego told him. Indeed, before long the boy's self assured attitude would be proved well founded, as he would tare through the competition to make it to the finals. But first, before he could engage in physical combat, the red headed teen had to navigate the bureaucracy which resided at the head of the line.
When the teen did finally arrive at the head he was greeted by the cantankerous mug of the overweight alien manning the registration table. Thankfully he didn't have to fill out anything himself, the cranky man simply asked him name and what school he represented, to which the boy obviously answered with his name and then stated that he wasn't representing anyone but himself. Personal glory was the name of the game today and so Beruto was entered into the record as such, representing no one but himself. Issued number 36, the shirtless teen had time to watch the rest of the competitors arriving, most of them once more looking like they would not pose much of a threat to the teen. A couple of the other fighters were dressed like him, showing nothing but skin above the waist and one such black haired man did catch the teen's eye. Later as the competition finally got under way, Beruto did as he expected, tore through the other combatants and exercising to his pleasure, his great skill in punishing his opponents in their midsection until they crumbled to the floor.
Along the way, also to is pleasure, Beruto noted that the other shirtless man who had caught his eye, was doing well in the competition and before long, the two were the only combatants left. Grinning all of the way to the ring, Beruto met the man I the middle along with the ring announcer and gave the other shirtless male a thorough looking over while the announcer spoke. Cade's physique was as impressive as his own and judging by the skin the man had shown in dispatching his own share of the combatants, he would actually be a challenge to the red headed boy. Holding out his own hands, clad in his trade mark white, finger-less gloves, Beruto bumped fists with Cade and returned his dig about his name.
“I look forward to it Kenny.” the boy replied and gave Cade a confident smirk.

Cade grinned as the stout red haired fighter called him "Kenny" and stepped back to ready himself. The surge and noise of the crowd grew louder in anticipation as the two fighters faced each other in the ring. The anticipation at seeing the two most obviously superior fighters finally fight had the atmosphere almost electric as the crowd buzzed more and more. He reached down into himself and shrank his core of power down, hiding his full strength. He moved into his ready position, studying the other man's movements as he did. His left side faced Berrytoe and he extended his left arm out almost straight in front of him, while his right arm was raised by his face and ready to strike. His feet were set with his left toes pointing towards his opponent while his right was horizontal in the back. He waiting until his opponent indicated he was ready... and with lightning speed he surged forth and delivered a right cross right at the red haired fighter's chin, looking to set the tone of the fight early... This solidly built young'un could probably take a lot of shots, but a punch to the jaw always smarted. Maybe it would make him mad enough to make a mistake... {Battle Tracker}

After bumping fists with his mutually shirtless opponent, Beruto backed off a few steps and waited for the announcer to get clear before he raised his arms into their usual high, defensive posture about his head. As the man and his microphone headed out of the ring, the red headed boy prepared himself, lightly bouncing a few times, rolling his muscular shoulders then finally completed taking his stance, leading with his left leg and maintaining his high defensive posture. The announcer had barely made it out of the ring when the the black haired man before him opened up somewhat unexpectedly was a solid punch aimed right for his face. It may have been serendipity that the man fired right at his defenses, or simply and most likely that he wanted to see what those defenses were made of, or least likely of the three options, that he wasn't nearly as competent as Beruto had expected, but which ever the case may be, the result was the same. With practiced skill and with the added benefit of his arms already being up and in position to defend his head, Beruto intercepted the punch intended for his jaw, letting it smack hard against the stylish white leather of his gloved fore arm.
"Hah! Nice guy, you got some speed and power there." Beruto commented. "But your aim sucks." the shirtless teen added with a cheeky smirk and then resumed bouncing from foot to foot, dancing to the side in order to maneuver around his opponent.

Cade nodded to himself as the young fella swatted away his blow without much trouble. He hadn't really expected to do much damage, but you never knew when you might catch someone sleeping on a punch. Smiling back at the fiery haired fighter, he called back, "Well I ain't used to fighting a fella shorter than me. Got to adjust my aim a bit, let's see how she goes here." He began to sway back and forth a bit as he studied the bouncy fighter starting to move clockwise around him. Cade quickly stepped over and executed a roundhouse kick aimed at his opponent's ribs; spinning counter clockwise to counter the young man's movement. He stepped back and circled slowly, matching the younger fighter's pace for a few moments while he thought. Power and endurance seemed to be this fella's wheelhouse, so he needed to up the speed on this dude. He concentrated for a moment and tapped into a more primal part of his mind, feeling his fighting instincts become sharper, more in focus. He took a few more steps, watching Berrytoe's footwork for him to cross over... but his foot work was solid. Mentally he shrugged and just muttered, "Guess it's time to just let 'er rip tater chip!" He stepped forward and launched into a flurry off punches at the burly fighter's face, left jab, right straight and left uppercut under the jaw if they landed... Then he stepped back and started to circle again, waiting to see his opponent launch into an attack for the first time...{Battle Tracker}

Keeping his guard up high, Beruto watched the other shirtless man while he responded, making a quip about the difference in their respective physical heights and then going on to announce his next attack. Fair warning was fine with the red haired teen, seeing as the first attack was slightly sneaky, though the boy was sure that wouldn't be the last of the trick of this guy's immaterial sleeves. Keeping watch of the man's movements, Beruto caught the wind up for the kick fairly easily and readied himself accordingly, tightening his guard around his head in case it went high, but also turning into the kick and tensing his impressive musculature to help cushion against the blow. Cade's leg smacked up against the shirtless teen's side, eliciting a muted thumping sound of cloth impacting skin and even managed to drag a grunt of expelled breath from the boy, but did little else. Beruto's stance held him upright with relative ease and the boy looked like he could take that kind of punishment all day. if one were to judge by the confident smirk peaking out from between his guarding arms.
"Hah! I hope you have something a little stronger than that in your..." Beruto was shooting back when he was interrupted by Cade's follow up. The combination of rapid punches though was again aimed at the red haired teen's head, which his already tight guard managed to rebuff, hopefully giving the other man's fists a good smarting in the process. "Ok, you like trying to smack me in the face so much, let's see how you like it." the shirtless boy shot back as he feinted to the left and then came back, leaping at Cade, intending to use not his fist, but his right elbow in a killer opening move which would see it smashing across the man's face. Intending to work the elbow into a combination and seeing as he was already airborne, the teen raise his knee, intending to plant it firmly in the taller man's abs.

Cade was met with the stout fighter's solid defenses once more; his fists unable to get through and inflict much damage yet. Man, this is like when Granpa Morita had me start punching them trees outside the dojo... he thought to himself until he was snapped from his thoughts. The boy proclaimed his intent to hit him in the face and promptly launched into a flying elbow strike. Cade danced a few steps back and let the elbow slide harmlessly by. He saw the knee coming a moment later; it was a little more subtly. He stepped to the side almost as soon as the young man had it extended out and then reset himself. This young man was solid as all get out... the only thing for it was just to keep hitting him til he went down. It was just going to take a bit longer... Cade leaped in at Berrytoe like he was going to answer him with a jump kick to the face... but as he landed he dropped and did a spinning leg sweep at the man's legs. If he succeeded, he would finish by somersaulting from his kneeling position and dropping a heel kick to his chest. If he missed, he would follow with a strong uppercut to the younger man's chin. Either way he would get back onto his feet and in position and call out, "That first attack I wanted to yell out, TORO, TORO... Second one was good though, I give ya credit for that."{Battle Tracker}

Launching his combination against his black haired opponent, the red headed teen didn't think he would miss as badly as he did. Sure there was the possibility o the elbow missing it's mark, he had given the guy warning after all, breaking his rule about talking during combat. But not only did the elbow completely miss, but his surreptitious knee intended for Cade's stomach completely whiffed as well. Frankly he was a little annoyed at the latter occurrence, Beruto was pretty sure he managed to hide the follow up quite well.. His opponent's speed though was unreal, the man danged and dodged around both of the boy's strikes as if Beruto was moving in slow motion.
Worse still for the boy, Cade used the phenomenal speed in attacking as well and by the time the red haired teen landed from his failed knee, the man put the shirtless boy on his back with a well executed leg sweep. Beruto grunted in frustration as he landed hard on his back, his arms going out of position to either side for a moment and thus leaving him open for the his opponent's follow up, a solid kick, or at least in this position it would be more accurately considered a stomp, to the shirtless boy's wide open chest.
“Errrf!” the athletic teen grunted out as Cade's shoe met firmly with the boy's muscular pectorals and force some air from his lungs. Thankfully his speedy adversary didn't continue the assault and backed off to tease him about the missed attacks. Beruto was having none of it though, with an opponent this fast and tricky, he couldn't afford to lose focus any more on chit chat. Instead, without answering the shirtless man's tease, the red haired teen put his arms up behind his head, braced against the floor, crunched up his legs against his body and then kicked out, flipping himself back up onto his feet and into his usual ready stance, hands up high to defend his had. He didn't stop there however and kept up his forward momentum, running towards Cade and leaping into what he hoped would be an unexpectedly successfully flying knee to the man's chest, after he had just been taken down.

The redhead popped right up after Cade took him down... not that he thought that would keep a fighter like this down. there was no doubt this lad was skilled... but likely he was just starting out on his own journey into the world. He rolled his shoulders and popped them as he thought of his first fight after leaving home. A pink machine of death had destroyed a village he had been trying to defend... the consequences weren't as high here, but he had been truly motivated to grow in strength from that day. Maybe he could be a motivation for this fighter... Continuing his momentum from hopping up onto his feet, Berrytoe charged launching a flying knee at him once more. Cade dove into a somersault and rolled under the aerial attack before hopping right back onto his feet. He turned to his opponent and waited on him to turn back towards him before he unblocked his power and augmented the power of his attacks, his aura burst forth blue white from his body. Cade twisted his ki a certain way... and flickered from sight to appear beside the stocky red head launching a punch packed with ki that exploded into the young man's face... Flicker.. BOOM... Flicker... Boom... Flicker.. BOOM... Flicker... Boom...Flicker.. BOOM... Flicker... Boom... 6 times Cade flickered around the fighter, throwing punches at different angles each time with a burst of light on each strike. After he was done, he flickered back into place where he had started, with a light sheen of sweat on his forehead... flickering that much was still a workout for him. Launching himself at the other shirtless male, Beruto was dismayed to see his knee meet nothing but air. The red haired boy completely missed Cade, or rather Cade was simply too nimble for the cocky teen to hit. In any case, this spelled trouble. Landing after missing his intended knee to the man's chest, Beruto knew he was in for a counter attack and readied himself as best he could, and boy did that counter attack arrive with a vengeance. Even with his guard up, protecting his head as it had been from the start of the fight, even to the exclusion of all else, Cade went for the boy's head. It was unreal, the punches came in so fast that Beruto could only stand there like a turtle hiding in it's shell as the shirtless man thoroughly peppered the equally shirtless teen's forearms with his fists. Then came Cade's final punch, a doozey by the looks of it. Beruto saw his opening though and tried to go for it, but it was for naught. The combination of the alignment of their bodies and Beruto's attempt to capitalize on what he thought an opportunity to catch the man off guard, added up to a devastating equation that ended in Cade's fist, smashing Beruto's right bicep so hard, the boy though the bone had broken.
BAM!
And then nothing, Beruto's right arm just dropped and the shirtless, sweat glistened teen couldn't feel anything below the shoulder.
“AHHHHH!DAAAAAMN!” he yelled from the initial pain and backed off, using his good left hand to rub his now numb right upper arm.”Damn it you son of a!...” Being so badly hurt so quickly was not exactly conducive to Beruto thinking with a rational mind. Speaking quite frankly, the shirtless, red haired teen flew into a rage and hurled himself back at Cade. Once more the teen leaped and tried to land a flying helicopter kick on the man, using his right arm was now obviously out of the question.

Cade felt a little sick to his stomach as he watched the other man's arm dangle uselessly. He hadn't meant to actually injure the other fighter, though that was always a possibility. He held out his hand and said with concern in his voice, "You allright bud? need to stop or..." The red haired fighter seemed to jerk up and started yelling out in anger as he charged in and launched into a helicopter kick at Cade's face that he had to jump back from followed by another kick that he had to slip.
Cade's hands seemed to move of their own accord, launching into a long combo at the fighter's stomach on response to his attacks. He stepped back and dropped his defense a bit. He didn't want to totally discourage the young man from fighting again. He doubted that would happen... but it wouldn't hurt him much. He raised his guard but deliberately started moving a bit slower. He called out, "That helicopter kick was pretty good, now come on back and show me what else you got!"{Battle Tracker}

Another spectacularly executed attack and yet another miss. 'Damn this guy is slippery.' Beruto thought ashis legs passed one after the other harmlessly over Cade's head. Then just as the shirtless teen was landing, his opponent opened up on him in retaliation and zeroed in on the opening he had had since the beginning of their bout. Punch after punch thudded into the athletic boy's abdominals and forced their way progressivly deeper into his toned body.
“Uuuugh!.. Uuughhhh!... Oooph!... Uuuughhhh!...” Beruto couldn't contain the vocal responses as Cade punished his midsection. It seemed a physical contradiction but in spite of this toned musculature and in particular his practically checker board abdominal muscles, the shirtless boy's core was surprisingly pliant when the other man's fists plunged into him, penetrating easily into the teen's vulnerable core. There was very clearly a noticeable flaw in the otherwise tank like teen's armor. As with any punches to the stomach, these were draining, Beruto's back hunched up with each impact as he stumbled away from the repeated blows to his midsection. Along with the ache in his guts which naturally accompanied such punishment, the teen seemed to have been snapped out of his momentary reckless rage, bringing his good arms around to wrap around his hurting middle as his opponent backed off and complimented him on the execution of his earlier, failed helicopter kick. Incredibly the other shirtless man encouraged the boy to push on and show him what else he could do. Beruto wasn't sure if the guy actually wanted to see what he could do, or just wanted to embarrass him some more, though he suspected, now that he was thinking a little more clearly, that Cade actually did regret disabling his arm.
“Yeah.... Would have been a lot better if I could actually hit you...” the now sweating, shirtless teen replied between deep breaths. “Never seen anyone as fast as you before... But I'm not giving up, bad arm or not.” he added, complimenting Cade back on his superior speed, even though it was the factor which had kept the red haired boy from landing a single blow. Not taking any more time to recover, Beruto took his good arm away from his middle, opening up that particular weakness again and id his best to keep his head well guarded with his left. His right arm felt like nothing but pins and needles from the shoulder down and about all he could do with it was use his shoulder, nothing else wanted to work. At was clear he'd had to make all of his remaining attacks with his legs, as his left arm was now needed solely for defense. With that in mind Beruto bolted back towards Cade and leaped once more into the air, only this time intending to tuck and fly right over the man rather than launch into him directly, only to un-tuck and smash both of his sneakers into Cade's back after he had passed over his opponent's head.

Even with his intentionally lowered defenses, Cade felt a bit surprised that the young man was able to martial his fighting spirit and flip over him with enough power to clear him and strike down. The first kick met it's mark and rocked him on his feet and almost knowcked the breath out of him, even as he batted the other one away. He turned and faced the determined fighter and didn't dishonor him by insisting he couldn't fight; only he would know when he had enough. Or when he hit the mat, Cade supposed. Cade charged in and launched a flying kick at the red haired fighter's midsection, and then, hit or miss, he would use the arms or the impact from the abdomen to flip up and attempt to land a kick on his chin while back flipping. Once he landed, he raised his hands back into a defensive posture and waited to see how his opponent would respond. He called out an answer the young man's complement as he waited, "You get fast when you have to run from demons. Or if you want to chase them down." {Battle Tracker}
