Personal Information Designation: Android 32 Name: Dez Alias: N/A Gender: Male Age: 5 [Since Activation], 15 [Biological Age]
Species: Android Creator: Doctor Gero Type: Biotechnical Genetic Clone Power Source: Infinite Core DNA Source(s): Skkkkkt....zzzrrrtt...Data Corrupted Project Result: Failure Canon Lineage: N/A
Theme Song: "Ready to Start" - Arcade Fire Voice Actor: Ryan Potter
Physical Information Height: 5' 4" Weight: 121 lbs Hair: Shaved Sides, Feathery Top Hair Color: Green/Teal Eye Color: Black Complexion: Bright Green
Clothing Dez is an urbanite. His clothing is highly reflective of that. Skinny jeans, thick sneakers, jean jackets and hoodies are his wardrobe of choice. He isn't a 'martial artist' despite being pre-loaded with intrinsic memories of various fighting techniques and having a literal computer in his head assisting him with combat. He prefers style over function, often coming 'incorrectly' dressed to deal with monsters, bandits, and a host of other problems. If he must dress in a way that is appropriate, you can expect him to wear name-brand workout pants and those hoodies with the sides cut out. He'll be dead before he is ever caught wearing a gi, a clothing item he has referred to as 'totally flat', which is to say, lacking in any coolness factor.
Description Dez is like...if a christmas elf was angrily beset by green shag carpeting. The boy is relatively short, and has been the same height since his release from the android facility. His files indicate he is capable of growth biologically, but his files also indicate he is a failed experiment, so he may be his measly five feet four inches for his entire life. Dez's android body has only been activated for about 5 years, but biologically he is mae to resemble a teenage body, about fifteen years old. In his five years he hasn't really changed or aged much, but self-diagnostics report that his cells do slowly corrode, so some aging is present, albeit at a highly reduced rate. This means the boy looks like a fifteen year old: he's a little smelly, overly hormonal, has an impossible metabolism, and is relatively scrawny despite having an augmented skeletal structure that is several times stronger than it should be physically capable of. Obviously, this means his strength is entirely deceptive, since everything that grants him power is hidden deep below the surface, some of it baked into the very cells of his body thanks to Gero's patented technology. Of course there are several physical modifications to Dez's body that are visible. He has pointed ears, claw-like, sharpened nails on his hands and feet, and fangs in his mouth that hint at possibly having a bestial ancestor in his DNA makeup.
Oh, his skin? Is that what you were waiting for? He is, obviously, a violent shade of bright green from head to toe. The exact reason is still a mystery, but only one race is known for incredibly green, and Dez knows he is a mixture of races thanks to the partial data he was able to steal from Gero's computers. So being at least part Namekian is pretty much a guarantee. That green coloring extends to his hair but not to his eyes, which are a sharp black color.

Personality
Dez is a playful little thing. He's technically only five years old, since he was only recently activated, and some of that bleeds through with a general lack of maturity. A desire to play games, be entertained, and a dislike of anything 'boring' all echo this five-year-old sentiment. Being a biological android, however, Dez has a number of memories that have rapidly increased his worldly understanding, such as understanding of consequences, restraint, and duty. Gero had sought to remove some of the behavioral problems that had plagued his early lines of androids with their nascent way of viewing the world. So Dez understands far more than a five-year-old should...he just can choose to ignore that advice if he wants. Biologically, he's 15, and that comes with all the hormones and bodily changes accompany that. So Dez has some anger issues, dislikes authority, and is often rude to people on accident. He has an inherent lack of impulse control, and often does things without thinking, feeling bad about it later.
Otherwise, Dez is a very bubbly individual. He is very physically affectionate, giving lots of hugs. He uses the fact that his body is superhuman to his advantage, often doing handstands, flips, or other pointless physical tricks to display enthusiasm. He loves talking to people unless they've proven themselves to be untrustworthy or utterly lame. He hates lame people above all else. Being a teenager, he's quickly judgmental and very easily swayed. Bribes are effective, as are people who find common interests with him. He loves "roasting" people, and will often laugh at his own insults, thinking them hilarious. He loves pranks and never tries to take anything too seriously. He avoids feelings with humor and sarcasm, because thats easier than manning up to his emotions.
Being an urban youth, Dez has developed a menagerie of slang terms he uses on the regular. His most common one is to call something 'Totally Flat' which is to say that it is uncool or lame. He also tends to use 'Way' as a positive exclamation. "That is so Way!" or "Way...." are generally signs of enthusiasm and awe. There are a handful of other assorted slang terms he uses, depending on what is popular that day. |

History
"...zzzzzzkkt..." "Is this thing on?"
A large hand swings into view, tapping a blue screen with scan lines running across it. There is a thunderous sound. The monitor shakes and rumbles, then settles back into place, the scan lines disappear, but the face that appears in it is still cast blue, like a terrible camera was recording him with a messed up filter. The man was balding atop his head, but had a voluptuous cloud of white hair billowing down from around his ears. He had a certifiably crazy scientist mustache, also white and fluffy, and his voice sounded like the noise of cheese grating.
"Much better. Doctor Gero, Age 771, beginning experiment log BMC-0032. Subject hereby referred to as 'Android 32'. Android 32's purpose is to take the Namekian's regenerative qualities and introduce it to human and sub-human specimens, granting them extended life and longevity. Such world-shattering lifespans could give humans the ability to fight an eons long threat such as Piccolo Daimao. These trials will require a biomechanical android, to properly test how the serum will graft onto other living subjects. Android 32 has been outfitted with standard biological enhancements: an infinite energy core, nano-molecular enhancements, and increased cell durability. We will scale these enhancements back as the tests continue." The video fuzzes out, jumping around like the files may have been corrupted. The image briefly lingers on a pale-skinned boy with dark hair, unconscious and strapped to an upright table. His chest is opened up, and several wires are disconnected. When it centers back onto a solid video, we see the same scientist, a little haggard looking. His hair is frazzled-looking and his eyes are getting bloodshot.
"Doctor Gero. Age 771. Update on Android 32. The previous infinite core recipients were modified from organic human tissue. It seems that fully artificial tissues are rejecting the infinite core, just as Android 31 did. This causes Android 32 to go into fits of violent ki production. It seems to be some issue with the body's ability to regulate the ki outputs. It seems to be tied to emotional stability. This is a substantial setback. We thought that adding computer telemetry to the subject's brain would allow it to properly interface with the core. As of yet, clinical regenerative studies have not even begun." The video fuzzes again. The pale boy is briefly shown on video, a steady white ki flowing around his body. The video jumps a few frames, and suddenly the boy's eyes go pure white, the aura around him turning red. The frame skips a few more frames, then the white-eyed boy is holding the camera. It goes white. When a new camera fades in, it is much clearer, without the blue tint. A new camera.
"Doctor Gero. Age 773. Update on Android 32. After shelving the project for a few years, funds from our new partners allowed us to solve the problems with the Infinite Core. Fully artificial tissues can now safely harness its power. Turns out it had nothing to do with the computer half of the instruction. Lack of grounding memory structures meant there was no active subconscious to regulate the core. Simple mistake really. We've modeled a computer facsimile of a subconscious, and have implanted enough baseline genetic memories into the subject for him to begin forming his own subconscious. We anticipate no further interruptions with core or energy productions. In fact, 32! Would you like to say hello to the camera?" A boy, roughly twelve looking, smiles at the camera, waving. He's still mostly naked, still pale-skinned, wearing some kind of skintight shorts and a harness so he can be plugged into as needed. The video fades out. When it comes back, we're several years in the future. Yet another camera.
"Doctor Gero. Age 782. Update on Android 32. Android officially classified as a failure. Irreconcilable problems in the genetic altering serum have rendered the research obsolete. Subject has gained some degree of namekian regenerative capabilities, slowing growth, but subject has also become...unconventional. Physical traits have appeared due to the serum's effects. Green skin and hair, claws. Not suitable for human trials. Genetic instability has also returned the previous problem of core instability. Subject has lost control of the infinite core on three separate occasions. Subject is now aware of when this overflow occurs, but cannot prevent it. Given the patchwork foundation of Android's 32's programming, it is my official recommendation that 32 be shut down. We'll take what we've learned and move on to Android 33. Start right, make this work in a new build. We'll also need to make adjustments to the serum. Perhaps introduce it during initial development? So we can control its effect on the genome? Either way, BMC-0032 is shelved indefinitely. Putting him into long term sleep cycle."
Android 32 was in sleep for over 400 years, in a locked, secret bunker. A failed android experiment in Gero's journey to immortality, nobody thought anything of the android, who woke up only when the storage facility errored out and cycled all of the containment pods. Having an infinite core, Dez's power supply was always ready to wake him up. Unlike some of the other lifeless husks whose various battery systems had long since corroded or drained out. From there he stumbled to the nearest city, where he found a life for himself, despite being labeled a failure by his creator.

“Venting containment pod…” “Sterilizing containment pod…” “Oxygenating containment pod…” “Beginning android activation protocol…”
Android 32 was himself again. He felt power flood through him as his core ignited, filling his cells with the ki that empowered them. He flexed his hands tentatively, and found that only one responded. The other one was hanging limply at his side. He frowned. He went to step out of whatever narrow tube he was in, and he found one of his feet was similarly non-responsive. Run Self Diagnostic he commanded to his own internal computing. But instead of running a diagnostic, he got the weird lack of connection feeling he got whenever his computer was down, or Gero had removed it for repairs. There wasn’t a real way to describe it in a way organics could understand. It was kind of like...reaching forward with a hand that wasn’t there, and finding an ocean of empty space between you and your fingers. You knew they were there, but there was no way or reaching them. Just waiting and waiting...hoping they responded, but secretly knowing they wouldn’t. Android 32 didn’t have a human correlation to that feeling. None of his memories provided the needed data. “Annoying,” he said, reaching up with his one responsive hand and grabbing the edge of his tube, pulling himself out of what he had already recognized as an android containment pod. Android 32 knew what they were for. He’d seen them before. Gero told him that was where he housed defective or incomplete androids. But Android 32 wasn’t defective or incomplete! He was here!
The biomechanical boy was momentarily surprised to see green, clawed fingers gripping the pod, but his memories came back online and he recalled them. After one of Gero’s procedures, he’d awoken like this. Stronger, surely. But also changed. Gero had not liked his change. Dark thoughts lingered on 32’s horizon, but he tugged himself free anyway, uncooperative limbs trailing behind him.
The room was hazy. At first, 32 assumed it was some kind of smoke, but it quickly revealed itself to be dust. He could see already that the pods had all vented, and their vents were caked with layers of dust and grime. The nervous feeling in the android boy’s guts intensified, and he swallowed thickly. He needed repairs. And data. He felt adrift without his computer pulling in new info for him. He must not be within range of any communications services. Or his technology was too outdated to interface with them. He didn’t like that possibility.
32 managed to drag himself from the pod, turning to the screen he knew would be just to the side of the pod. He tapped it with a finger, and the dust-covered plastic lit up. He had to wipe the grime away before he could clearly read. “Designation: Android 32,” on the pod, with a wireframe scan of the body who was just inside. Underneath was the red word he dreaded seeing, “Status: FAILURE; CONTAIN” writ in large print. He didn’t even remember his last activity with Gero. When he’d been shut down last. For maintenance? For more blood work? The android felt his synthetic heart racing, and he bared fangs at the little screen, growling and yelling in equal measure before a modified fist smashed through the screen, sparks flying and plastic shards scattering across the floor. When he ripped his hand out of the screen, wires cackled and split, whipcracking. Red energy was already beginning to surge at the tips of 32’s fingers, little red orbs bubbling over and floating into the space just beyond his digits. “No. No no no…not now...” he whispered desperately, one hand gripping the second tightly and holding it down, willing the red energy to recede. He closed his eyes, working on the breathing exercises Gero had taught him. He had to contain the energy in his core. It was still slightly unstable. He flexed his fingers, urging the little red balls to reabsorb. They didn’t.
“Ugh!” he yelled, whipping a hand out. The little red balls hammered into another containment pod, exploding on contact. 32 gasped at the uncontrolled action, but it seemed to have vented enough energy that his skin cooled down, no longer feeling warm to the touch. He sighed, then realized he’d forced his uncooperative hand to function, and slowly unwrapped the fingers from his wrist. “There you are…” he said with a little grin. His hand was stiff, but the ki seemed to trickling into it slowly. The cells were reactivating, giving him back his mobility. But he still needed to do a full diagnostic.
He looked around and found what he was looking for. He limped over to the large computer bank against the wall. It was just as disused as everything else in here, but at least it turned on when he placed a hand to it. The machine kicked on, and a sudden rush of information poured into android. Too much information for him to parse. 32’s eyes rolled back as he was overloaded, and he crashed to the ground.
He woke up an indeterminate amount of time later, overwhelmed by the influx of data. He was beginning to parse some of the most relevant information however. His computer systems indeed were out of date. He’d need to repair them before he could get the same computer-rapid data transfer he was used to. Until then he’d just have to learn things the normal way. But that was practically nothing compared to the massive bomb that had been dropped on him. Almost 400 years. Gero had left him here for almost 400 years. Oh sure, he ran a diagnostic, but the anger that threatened to overload his core from before pushed thorugh him again, his vision going fuzzy at the edges as red ki began to spill out of him. “How dare you!” he yelled, summoning the red energy orbs in both hands. He slammed a wave of crimson energy into the computer, blasting through it in a chain of explosions that blew it to hell and sent cracks fissuring through the underground complex.
32 didn’t even think about the other androids, also potentially climbing out of pods. He didn’t need to. He knew he was the only model in this storage facility that had a working infinite energy core. The other ones were battery operated, or had cores that malfunctioned. He had their data that he gleaned from the computer. Many of them had batteries that lasted a long time, but none of them would’ve lasted 400 years, even in deep sleep. He’d been forgotten. They all had. Swept under the rug like Gero was ashamed of them.
A large rock slammed down next to the green boy, and 32 jumped backwards. His ki began to overflow again, and the boy only had thought: leave. His sight went red, and then he felt very compressed.
BURRRRRRRRR! BURR BURRR!
Next thing 32 knew, he was on a paved road, a truck swerving to avoid him. The frightened boy stepped back, yelling aloud. “Where on earth…?” 32 was used to his core malfunctioning. But it had never teleported him anywhere. He figured the lab must’ve been under this city somewhere and he went straight up in an attempt to flee. He felt bad for the androids that had perished long forgotten under the ground. They had been put in a hole, and 32 was lucky that he was freed, by some computer glitch or malfunctioning subsystem. It was luck. Gero had planned to never let him out. And he’d been down there for almost 400 years. The thought was staggering. But first 32 needed to find some place to make repairs.
And maybe some clothing.
