Name: Suruha Toshigawa
Species: Human
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Appearance: Mitsuri Kanroji from Kimetsu no Yaiba. One is hard-pressed to believe Suruha is a professional martial artist.
For starters she boasts a rather small stature that often causes her to be mistaken for a teenage girl rather than a woman in her early twenties. This mistake is often corrected when, upon retaliation for such an insult, a sordid right hook is often enough to rectify such a matter.
She is out of place in fighting tournaments, standing no taller than five feet four inches and weighing in around a slight one hundred and fifteen pounds. She boasts the figure of a fit fighter, however, her lean athletic build more than capable of handling the rigorous training that comes with studying the martial arts.
But it isn't just her size.
Her bright pink hair color is distinctive and coupled with the fierce pale green of determined eyes, she makes for a rather unforgettable opponent.
Personality: Being an underdog taught Suru to never give up, no matter what. Her dream is to become Earth's strongest martial artist and defend it at all costs from every manner of threat that exists.
Being so small this required a great deal of willpower to not give up when things became difficult, and a great deal of stubborn pride to keep pushing forward even when no one else believed in her dream but herself.
She is a champion for humanity and human rights; she doesn't like the idea of humans being at the mercy of the many non-native species that populate their planet, or those that invade from other places within the galaxy. Suru wants to be strong enough to protect herself, and believes it is the prerogative of every human to do the same.
She boasts a great love for martial arts, instilled in her by her father. It taught her that despite her size and the fact that most people underestimated her, she did not have to fear or feel threatened. No matter the threat, great or small, she had the capability of attaining great strength and discipline which could be utilized to combat anything.
She has a sharp wit and deep intellect, boasting an ingenuity that serves her well as a student of martial arts. She studies hard, often looking to master as many techniques as possible in order to continue becoming stronger.
History: Suru is the only daughter of Tatsumi Toshigawa, a famed martial artist who fought in many tournaments in his time.
He was a kind and patient man, enduring his daughter's fierce spirit and stubborn pride as she resisted his discipline toward her as a parent. She never got to know her mother; the woman died giving birth to her.
Even at a young age, Suru bore the guilt of taking her mother away from Tatsumi, and though he never once blamed her for the death of his wife, Suru acted out the very guilt she believed she carried. As she got older, she began to take a keen interest in her father's martial arts—it was a style amalgamated from various different disciplines, one he dubbed 'The Flowing Fist Style'.
It called upon its practitioner to always maintain a steady flowing spirit, much like a powerful river. Strong, steady, and certain, capable of great gentleness and fluidity. She began to study under him, despite his initial reservations, and it transformed her. She learned to let go of her guilt and shame, and temper the fierce spirit with patience and discipline.
But something was wrong.
Her father was by no means a weak fighter. Yet year after year he found himself being beaten in tournaments by fighters who weren't even human—Saiyan, Namekian, and the likes. It was unfair in Suru's eyes, and when she brought this to her father's attention, he would merely smile and tell her that he simply needed to train harder.
But he was never vindicated. During a preliminary round against a Saiyan, he was injured and forced to retire altogether from martial arts. This angered Suruha, and prompted her to put her skills.
She trained long and hard for a full year, and when the next tournament came around, she was ready. Hardly a fighter could withstand the whirlwind of her blows, and though she was eliminated early on, it put people on notice. She kept coming back each year, building a larger and larger fan base. She began to appeal to the crowd, and thus, her own popularity grew.
Her father's school became defunct, but Suru took the brand and commercialized it, endorsing the Flowing Fist Style and its discipline all across the world. Soon, her losses turned to victories. She began to employ people to help push her brand, as well as find new and ingenious ways to continue to grow her own image through various entrepreneurial avenues.
But it never drew her from her first love—martial arts, and the fact that she wanted to be the strongest fighter in the world. She wants the world to know that humans are far from weak, and don't need help defending their own planet.
They are more than capable of doing so on their own.

RP SAMPLE
Courage is not the absence of fear.
Rather... it is action in spite of that fear.
Remember this, Suruha.
And much of life will become far clearer to you.
She sat cross-legged in the middle of a tidy room. The walls were clean and stark, almost severe in their flawless white contrast with the brown aging tatami mats that covered the ground.
Smoke curled up from the incense sticks she'd lit at the small shrine she sat before. Amid a decor of flowers and spices rested a single photo of her mother—a smiling woman with flowing pink hair. Suruha was the spitting image of her mother—strong, stubborn, and just as fiery in spirit, according to those who knew her best.
Eyes closed, Suru continued to meditate upon the principles her father taught her when she first began studying the Flowing Fist Style. Rivers were powerful sources of life. Calm and steady one moment, fast-flowing and powerful the next, they provided fresh spring water from the melting ice caps in the mountains and even pointed lost travelers in the right direction.
It was what her father aspired to be, and what he taught his daughter to be as well.
Sometimes being a celebrity martial artist took its toll on her, and she wished all of it would simply disappear. But that would be the coward's way out, wouldn't it?
Courage is not the absence of fear.
"Rather it is action in spite of that fear. Yeah, yeah... I hear you, Dad."
She inhaled a deep breath, releasing it calmly as she clasped her palms together in front of her. Her pale green eyes shimmered in the bright morning light that filtered into the room as she opened them to observe the shrine of her mother.
"Wish you were here right now, Mom. I wish... I wish what people say about me being as strong as you were true."
She didn't feel very strong.
She felt weak and incapable. Despite her modest success, Suruha knew she could be stronger. There was so much she had yet to learn—so many different techniques and abilities she'd witnessed others utilize that she was far from mastering herself. She had not entered this discipline to fail at it; she entered this discipline to grow stronger and succeed.
The earth needed to be protected.
She thought of the fabled Z warriors—not the Saiyans with their unfair advantages, but the regular humans who struggled to obtain the strength that came far too easily to the monkey race. Krillin, Yamcha, and perhaps her favorite of them all, Tien Shenhan.
If they could become Z Fighters, obtaining the strength capable of saving the world, then so could she.
"Alright, then. Give me the strength and courage to fight and protect the Earth. Can't let those Saiyans nab all the glory, now can we?"
Suru uttered her final prayer, dipping her head in silent adulation before rising to her feet and putting the incense out.
