COMMANDING OFFICER, EXPEDITION PLATOON LAZULI-11
BATTALION COMMANDER’S EYES ONLY
Subject: Re: Operation Bluesky
SATCOM analysis was correct.
Anomalous visual artefact located at coordinates 69.5037652, -156.66503906, SL 91m, is verified to be an object of interest, rather than a geological feature.
Nature is artificial. Appears to be a vessel of some sort, glaciated. Size is significant. Excavation required to give accurate measurements. Radiometric dating kit use on Ice Core samples indicates an age of appx 25.23ka.
Recommend deployment of salvage-restoration team of at least 3,000 personnel for rapid extraction. As per protocol, estimated figure assumes minimal empowered personnel.
Boss… If this is what I think it is, we’ve hit the jackpot.

ADHQ-01 "Blue Thunder", Outskirts of West City
General Cerola reclined into her seat after closing the message. DragooNet was of course a private network they'd built on their own, using satellite control frequencies that General Gold had given them before his untimely assassination. After dealing with Brigadier Bronze, they also made extensive use of the traitor's network infrastructure, including his own satellites and maintenance technologies, orbital drone launchers, and such... Thanks to that, the network became stronger than ever, providing the Dragoons with yet another helpful asset for their own purposes.
The Sky Marshal would have been impressed with her performance had he been alive. Or if he was, cloned somewhere out there in space, then he certainly would have been impressed had he known about it. Perhaps with the exception of the nanomachines used to boost the Golden Guard power armour's performance to levels somewhere between the Mk I and Mk II Pomegranate models, every other single piece of equipment the Dragoons amassed were a result of On-Site Procurement... with the site being "anywhere outside of Tuffle territory".
Blue Thunder was presently parked somewhere near West City, one of the various camps the Dragoons had set up as staging points for their assistance with that Jack Raker film. For all intents and purposes, the experience was certainly unique, as even General Cerola, outside of her cover story, had spent most of her life in military service. After all, with the Tuffles' brain power, they took university-level education - hers at Yarvind Military Academy - at the age of 10.
Their involvement with the film's production had recently ended, and the blockbuster itself was in the process of post-production, its release in a few scant months.
"Anything interesting in the mail today, Chief?" Lieutenant Colonel Teal asked, busy polishing his experimental Optical Rifle. It was an interesting Golden Gate development, utilising experimental prismatic physics to "solidify" light into a highly accurate and precise projectile suited for extremely long distances. It wasn't quite a "laser" as it was a bullet made of photons. The TAS once had such weapons in their arsenal. The Golden Gate Army certainly started to catch up...
"Lazuli's report just dropped," the Colonel replied nonchalantly. "Something big enough to require a 3000-man SalRes team."
"We rolling up to Yunzabit then?" Behind his sunglasses, Teal's eyebrow rose inquisitively. "Though we're kinda 2000 short of that."
"Yes, we'll have to recruit additional auxiliary personnel if we're going to get this thing out of the glacier." A glacier! Of all the things!
"I can send the Engineering Platoon ahead to set up a proper SalRes site," the XO suggested, "Maybe half of the Battalion to provide initial manpower, while we train the new recruits here."
Colonel Azure shook her head and stood from her seat. "No need to keep rooted while we do that. We'll train them on the road, march them to the coast as we put them through Basic Training."
Teal chuckled. "Just like you, Chief. Never one to waste time when it can be saved somehow."
"If our recruits can't handle mobile training, then they have no place in our nomadic lifestyle. Aim for a quota of 4000. We'll assume a washout rate of 50%. Should be easy enough to make use of the current buzz of our involvement with the film."
"You got it, Chief," Teal stood up from his seat, slung the Optical Rifle over his shoulder, and gave a laid-back two-fingered salute. It technically wasn't an official salute, seeing as the Dragoons didn't practise such things, but it had become his own little way of giving his superior his own form of respect. "One big fat recruitment drive coming up."
Over the next few days, the Dragoons would put out large numbers of posters, fliers, and other sorts of written material to get the word out. They even used some of their earnings from the film contract to pay for the production of video ads utilising assets from the film. Before they would depart for the Yunzabit Highlands, West City would certainly know that Azure's Dragoons was recruiting.
