Nature was full of potential cures through chemical bonds, jewelry was fashioned from germanium in the belief that it aided bone conditions and purified blood issues, and the training room in the zen tea house was structured with this miracle cure along with spiritual ore. Juniper was dressed in a maid outfit, while she often wore kimonos, she wore this black and white outfit for cleansing rituals. Koma had sent her, along with the other residents, for training in this state of the art facility. At first she figured it would simply be lessons since she was not typically a fighter, she was fully aware that her mystic talents were useful as support, and she did not mind learning martial arts so that she can recognize physical wounds on a patient.
The tea princess was the first to arrive, it was rather early in the morning, and a fog covered the courtyard as spring drew near. While she waited outside the open walled training room, she drank out of a metal canister, it was mushroom tea from Truffle village, and when she lowered it down Hachi interrupted her by shoving a crispy rice cracker wrapped in seaweed while she yawned. Juniper bit down on the cracker, breaking it further in her mouth, and swallowed it after chewing it enough times which was quite a while. It was her method of savoring the taste before she washed it away with more tea. Once she felt energized, she took the time to materialize her giant paint brush, and held on to it with both hands while humming a tune waiting for the next person to arrive.

It wasn’t often that Maxine sulked, but – this was one of those days. The first day on the job anywhere could be tough, even for someone with her experience and expertise; but she still hadn’t expected this much trouble. She hadn’t even made any serious mistakes… alas, Shortcake just knew how to put a new hire in her place. She respected it, of course. And she was right. Maxine was a little out of practice, at least when it came to more recent traditions; not to mention the Tea Family’s own ways of doing things. But… it really did bruise her ego, getting chewed out like that… Personally, she’d really wanted to impress the fae, but… it looked like that’d have to wait for another day. While she’d found herself heading towards the training room under Koma’s orders, Maxine didn’t have any sugar-coated reasons for being there – she didn’t fight to cool off or meditate or anything so typical. She was a machine; she had no use for martial arts or meditation. In truth, she didn’t even consider training particular useful to her… she could do almost all of it internally, after all. But, her orders were more important than her feelings. And, it might be a good chance to get to know the other staff better, in any case. Finally in her suit rather than a servants’ kimono, Maxine entered with her usual stoic composure – as well as a set of towels draped over one arm. ”Ōhime-sama. Good morning. Please do not push yourself, much less for my sake.” Giving a deep bow, the android began to clear things up, and tried extremely hard not to think about the giant paint brush, the maid outfit, or the floating squid. These were just things you had to accept in this kind of job! She hated it, but that was just how it was! These old families and their strange things. These cute girls and their cute things… Maxine herself, on the other hand, was woefully underequipped; even for a sparring session. Her last set of repairs had been a mess, and while thankfully functional her current body was not up to her standards. That company had cut corners again… in some ways, she’d rather be stuck with an arm for a few more weeks if it meant getting something more modern. But, that was the life of an android. Her beloved revolver was still getting checked up, too; but she’d never bring that to a sparring match in the first place. Instead, her weapon of choice today would have to be something considerably scaled down… assuming she wasn’t outright forced to use mere martial arts. A loathsome thought…

It had been some time since Fenrir had made his way through the Tea Palace that they lived in - what else could he call such a lavish estate but a palace - and into the training room. Oh, he recalled the last time he had gone in there. He had gone in there with the desire to train, to simply test the place out. Ultimately, that is not what happened. Not long after he had begun to train in the state of the art training room, he had been interrupted and joined, by the cat eared woman who had introduced herself as Jade. The young woman and he struck up a short lived conversation; she was not used to using physical strikes in order to fight, and he was not used to the usage of Ki energies with which to fight. So they both were proficient and one rather than the other. And one would appear that they would be able to work together in order to learn from their respective weaknesses. But, that is not how things went down.
He attempted to show her something simple; how to train with a wooden training dummy which had been placed in the training room. It stuck out as the most out of place thing in the training room, as everything else was rather state of the art and the wooden dummy was not. It looked as if it had seen better days, but it was excellently maintained. And using the wooden dummy, Fenrir attempted to show the young woman some simple training techniques. However, she had shown a hard time grasping them, but he did not hold it against her. To the untrained, what he had showed her may be difficult, it may not, it depends on the person.
She, in turn, suggested that they spar against one another in order to ascertain what they knew, how they fought, their strengths, their weaknesses, etc, and at that point in time, he agreed to the idea. Their spar was short. Jade attempted, more than once, to set the tall muscled wolf man on fire, and one of her attacks struck home rather hard.
His wounds healed. His pride took a bit longer. But, he was alive and the pain was temporary. He had left his room, popping his neck as he did so; he slid the door shut behind him with a swift flick of the wrist, and began to make his way toward the training room. He had to train; a note had been left behind on his doorway and that is what prompted that day's training session. He had been told, by Koma, to use the house's training room and that is exactly what he decided he would do; the wooden training dummy would be there, as would be several other pieces of equipment. It would also be, with any luck, a good spot for silent relaxation, training on his own with just the wooden training dummy to keep him company - and there were other people there.
He walked up to the training room, picking up the energy signature of at least Juni. A small smile crossed his face as he realized he would have a partner in training and he pushed the doors open and stepped inside of the training room.
"Oi, are you here to train under orders too?" The tall man - clad now in a pair of training gi, though he wore no shirt, baring his well toned chest and his biceps - motioned to the two women; one of whom he recognized (Juni) and the other whom he did not recognize. He had no idea who this newcomer was, but he smiled toward them and gave a deep fluid bow, "Pleasure to make your acquaintance, miss. The name is Fenrir Vulk, and may I ask whom you are?"

Training. She'd done this new thing before first by herself, after the battle with Copykhat, and then under Koma, learning the very basics of martial arts. But at the same time... the first time Misaki had done it was by herself. The second time was under the watchful eye of Koma. This time...
This was the first time Misaki had ever found herself training in an entire group. She hadn't really... spend that much time with large groups in general 'till she'd came to the teahouse - And, Misaki realized with a soft smile, she'd never really trained before coming here the first time either.
This place really had opened her up to a host of new experiences...
The thought briefly distracted her, and a soft green glow came to light as Misaki's own concentration slipped, the woman once again focusing on ki control to rein the wild new energy back in. the Gardener wrinkled her nose and shook her head as the flames licking to life disappeared back again.
So much energy was still hard to control, to make sure it didn't burn through her like the wick of a candle amidst a blaze. It was not the most difficult thing Misaki had ever done - it was getting easier by the day - but it forced her to be attentive.
Speaking of attentiveness, the greenette, lost in thought, was snapped back to the rest of reality as she heard the training room door being slid shut, looking up to see... Fenrir's hand? Maybe... slide the door shut in front of her, far on the other end of the hallway.
Shaking her head, she headed towards the training area. She was not wearing her usual dress - having invested in a proper training gi - and the distinct, disgusting feeling of pants irritated the woman even as she walked forward. the Gi in question was olive green and fit for training, but it simply didn't feel as comfortable as her traditional style of dress. She supposed that it's one of the sacrifices required for strength, wearing such unbecoming clothing, but the young half-human wished there was something less inconvenient she could sacrifice instead. Like a goat.
Opening the screen door adorned in something other than her usual dress for the first time since she'd met the group, Misaki gave her new colleagues her familiar smile as she entered. "Mister Fenrir! Miss Maxine! Miss Juniper! It's wonderful to see all of you again." Misaki would chirp as she looked around the training room. She'd already been getting used to the weights she'd obtained from here, and of course she'd sparred in here before... but for the most part, the Powerhouse hadn't really found herself the time to really explore the equipment here. Perhaps now might just be a good time...

Today was going to be so much fun! Koma had given the order for them all to congregate in the Training Hall, which also meant that they were going to be training today! Toma was already dressed in his casual attire by the time he left his room and hurried into the training hall beaming while his tail flicked happily. Toma then made his way over to Fenrir, who looked flawless while shirtless in his Gi for the training. You could say that the giant was prejudiced to traditional clothing, but it was a lot more elegant and more practical for fighting in his opinion. He was excited to train with everyone, but especially Fenrir because he feels like the wolf man has been holding out on him for one reason or another. Either way, he was really looking forward to this joint session with who he considered to be his best friends in the world! Sakuya would be joining in too as she walked inside just as Toma stood his towering figure right next to Fenrir. "It looks like everyone is almost here! This is going to be so much fun~ Toma said with child-like excitement as he finally let himself gush out his feelings, returning to his normal happy-go-lucky attitude that contrasted with his seriousness during the Devil's Cookbook incident. Sakuya just looked around the room quietly however, and played the part of the innocent little girl for the moment; even though she was a fierce warrior in her own right, as Juniper has no doubt bore witness to already. That was some adventure. As Jade peaked her eyes open, the memories of her previous fight and her encounters came to her mind. Clove, Zam, Jody, and the battle royale itself. It was.. fun. Jade has improved a lot after that fight, and that was one thing she wouldn't regret. She literally took a 'cat nap'. She got home in the evening after her travel back to the Western Lands, and she went to sleep the moment her head hit that pillow, and here she was.. about 8:30 in the morning. She rubbed her eyes, and stretched her arms in the air, looking at the new clothes that she bought on the way back from the Central Lands. She didn't even have the strength to get them packed at the moment, so.. there was only one thing left to do. She'd have to ask one of the maids to do it. She didn't exactly like asking them for favours, because she was mostly used to doing stuff by herself. She got up from her bed and slid the door open, looking if anyone was there in the hallway. This was a bit weird. The fact that everyone's ki signature was pretty distant as if.. everyone was outside the training room. The pinkette thought about it for a while, until one of the maids from the house walked past with some tea cups on a tray.
"Hello, excuse me. Good Morning. By any chance do you know why the house is empty? I don't sense anyone inside the house."
"Good Morning Miss Jade. I see that you've just gotten up from bed. Actually, Master Koma and Mistress Juniper wanted everyone to go to the training room to train. I was supposed to tell you last night, but you were sleeping at the time."
Training room? Why would Juni want everyone to go to the training room to train? Hmm.. maybe she finally mastered her mystical powers and wanted to show everyone. Jade was pretty clueless. Scratching her head, she said
"Ok. Thank you for the information. I'll be out there in about thirty minutes."
It seemed as if Juniper got back before Jade did, as she wasn't at the house at the time when Jade left. Jade actually has a lot to tell Juniper. In that thirty minutes time span, she actually took a short bath, got dressed and combed her hair. She had to look presentable to everyone there. That's just something that she felt was right. She chose what to wear from that new stack of clothes. She was kinda embarrassed of wearing Juniper's clothes at this point, which is why she got her own clothes now. It was about time. Not only did she get some casual clothes, but she also got some tracksuits. She decided to wear a black tracksuit with white stripes on the sides of the pants and sleeves. After leaving the house, she stood in front of the door of the training room, looking at everyone inside through the transparent glass. Once she slid the door open, something struck her.
What.. is that.. power? Is that..
Yes. It was Misaki. How did she get this strong this fast? This was exceptional. Jade eyes widened just thinking about this, and at that point, the idea of her being her mentor came to her head. But.. this wasn't the time. Fenrir was also inside the room at the time, shirtless, as always, exposing his physique. A lavender coloured hair female was also there, but for some reason.. Jade just couldn't sense her ki signature. Just like that guy named 'Luther'. He was a ki user, but she couldn't sense his ki at the time when they fought each other. She remembered him saying that he wasn't exactly human. She didn't didn't know what that meant, but ok. Fenrir's encounter with Fenrir was rather short, which is why she decided to catch up with him.
"Hey Fen. I haven't seen you for a while now. I'm.. sorry about our spar, I think I went a bit too hard on you. Don't say that I shouldn't apologize, it just feels right."
Even if he didn't answer, she would then go to Misaki, with a smile plastered on her features.
"Hi Misaki. You've gotten really strong since the last time we fought. Hope to fight you some other time. I could learn a few things from you. It would be fun too."
Finally, she approached Juniper, and to be fair.. she had a lot of questions.
"Hi Juni. Before I left, I was looking for you. You didn't tell me that you were leaving. You know.. I was slightly worried. Where were you? You didn't tell me that you had a sister. I ended up meeting her coincidentally at a Women's Tournament that happened in Central City. I fought her and some other participants. She seems to be a person that is mostly interested in fashion."

“Gerald, hurry up. Given the way that the others have used the sparring room previously, I can only imagine how they’re going to destroy it today if not guided against such action.” Koma said as he strode in from his Motorcycle’s parking spot near the garage-cum-stables of the Teahouses’ Estates. He strode through the halls after saying it, followed by a rather obese racoon dog which practically waddled along side him as he strode towards the training room.
It was as such that he strode into the training room, daisho over his shoulder, with Henjiken and his Katchin Steel Blade both tied together with each other by the scabbard and as such kept together despite the fact he only had one finger on the rope that kept him dangling over his shoulder as the slate gray eyed Samurai strode forward.
“See, Gerald? Not a proper martial artist out of the lot of them, yet. But we’ll fix that today. They all have marvelous potential, even the alley cat -- though she needs to learn manners.”
The Tanuki beside him simply stared, before barking twice and walking to a waiting pillow in the corner.
“Okay, that said, thank you for coming. I asked you all here so that we could practice both group battles and so I could have some words with the few of you- specifically you, pinky no brains. This facility doesn’t fix itself. If you are going to spar in here, both hold back where you can and make sure to turn on the spiritual energy powered armor on the walls, which helps prevent destroying them. If you make me have to come in here even one more time with nails and hammer to fix someone else’s mess, there will be pain. Lots. Of. Pain.”
Then the half-saiyan Samurai dropped his daisho gently to the ground, before removing his leather jacket and leaving only his jeans and a shirt of spiritual energy strengthened chain mail, which glittered like a turquoise silken shirt despite the fact that it was armor. He further took off his motorcycle riding boots, putting them on the rack of the training room’s shoes, and digging into the cabinet to change his socks into a fresh pair of tabi socks.
“Fenrir, you and Juniper will spar with Toma and Maxine while Jade and Misaki watch. When I give the signal, Jade will join one side and Misaki will join the other, as determined by me. While we watch, I will give commentary and ask for Jade and Misaki to provide pointers where and if they think they can find it. Finally, I will jump in to fight as I choose, either to help the losing side or to fight the lot of you.”

There were more people coming into the training room. One after another; he had already made his presence known to Juni and the new girl - the strange new girl whom he could see but he could not sense which made him think back to Doctor Isaac - and as he stood upright, from his bow, he noticed that the young woman who could speak to plants, the gardener as he thought of her, had joined as well. He gave her a polite nod of his head as he looked around the room.
He was used to wearing little clothing; oh, those were the days, when he could go about his business wearing nothing but the skin on his back. But, apparently, in polite society he had to wear pants. Why? Because he was told to do so. At least when he was in his own room, he could go about his business in just an apron. It was nice and comfy in his room. And not many people visited. The few that did had learned very quickly that they had to knock on his door rather than just entering his room, or else they would get an eyeful of naked Fenrir to look at for their troubles.
"How are the flowers doing?" He commented over to Misaki, since she could speak to plants, "I was thinking of growing some herbs, so I was wondering if you could help me with that. I'm not very good with growing plants; I tried. They tend to die." He rubbed his chin, thinking back on it, he did not have much of a green thumb.
A familiar energy caught his attention. It was Toma. The tall muscular man stepped into the training room and stood beside Fenrir causing him to peek over at him from the corner of his eye, "Oi, happy to see you're joining us. I take it you got the summons too?" Was everyone going to be showing up for this training session or was it just a certain few?
Just as he contemplated this, a familiar scent caught his nose and he peered over. There she was. The pink haired feline had stepped into the room. She appeared to be excited, energized, and she was going from person to person, speaking to them. He could almost feel the slight sting of her fire on him again but he smiled nonetheless as she walked over to him. "Ah, it's fine. I'm not used to fighting against those that specialize in energy usage. And I tend not to take spars so far," He rubbed his chin a bit, thinking back on how quickly the spar had taken a turn for the worst for him, right off the bat she had thrown out her most powerful and devastating attack at him, catching him completely flat footed. "I'm still alive, though." He shrugged a bit.
He had an aversion to fire, but he wasn't going to mention that aloud.
"Don't worry about it." He motioned to the cat girl.
Though as she went to wander away, he caught sight of a familiar face. It was, what was his name again? He had seen him during the meeting before they all went to deal with the Devil's Cookbook gang. What had been his name? This was a man that he had not really spent any time with, so keeping his name in his memory was difficult.
Koma? Was that it? It was probably that. There was a rather fat looking raccoon dog with him which... well, Fenrir could not help but grin at. He liked the chubby looking thing. Much like he enjoyed the presence of Hachi.
It was this man, the one with the scarred face, who appeared to have set this whole thing up; he was also the one in charge from the way he spoke, giving out orders. He and Juni were to spar against Maxine and Toma.
"Oh? I guess you'll be my opponent," He peered over at Toma, "I want to see what you can do." He rubbed his chin then walked over towards Juni, smiling at her, "Let's show them what we can do, partner."

While Maxine had quietly began to double check the room, she’d gradually been met with quite the crowd – t-this was a little concerning. First, there was that especially tall man… she didn’t mind the lack of a shirt! She was kind of used to that! She did mind that twinkle in his eyes and the spark of a canine in his smile, though. Part beastman, perhaps… or, part wildcard. She knew this time. Good boots on the ground, so long as you could keep a hold of them. But… she shouldn’t be so judgemental; she wasn’t the one running this clan. For now, she’d return the bow; albeit far deeper. ”The pleasure is mine, Vulk-sama. I am UN-11, or Maxine; android assistant to the Tea Family, currently. If you an ally of Ōhime-sama, then I shall be at your disposal.”She didn’t need to ask – she could feel his might. It wasn’t about his ki, or any technology of hers; she could feel the intent around him. Dangerous… even when so relaxed. A spar with him could end up desperate for her. Watching him carefully, the android would carefully begin to prepare her replacement handgun. A chopped down raygun with a wide-bore barrel… it wouldn’t do a scratch on this boy. Tch… if only… Misaki’s entrance was considerably more colourful, but about as threatening. She’d noticed that energy pinging off of her before, and Maxine was very sure that the scorch marks she’d had to help Shortcake clean up were from it. Though, another gi? Her suit was beginning to feel a bit out of place – but, she was an android, so perhaps they were wearing them out of concern for sweat or the like. Or damage… s-she hadn’t fully considered that. But, well, she went through a suit every job anyway, if it got violent. M-Maybe she’d lose another arm here… still, maybe she could just hide behind Misaki. ”I see, it seems the young master invited quite the selection. I shall be in your debt, as I can foresee that this shall be quite the demonstration of power.” Inwardly, Maxine was not so chivalrous – she’d rather a yakuza scuffle on the street over beams and martial arts anyway, but she had a role to play. And then, a more familiar face… he was involved with the Tea Family as well? How curious. A wise investment, though. Duke Toma, an icon of the restaurant scene in Oolong City… Maxine had most certainly heard of him. In fact, she was pretty sure she’d been involved in a turf war with his subordinates once, a long while back. To think a dinner date would require such extensive precautions… date at 6 PM; case the joint at 6 AM. Ah well, she had been under orders, so she didn’t feel anything particularly personal about it. She was still proud of that move back then, though – staking the chef’s good hand to the cutting board with a knife had been a flash of inspiration at the time, but she heard one of her older clients mention it lately. He was well-dressed, at least; that black gi had a professional’s understated touch to it – however, once again, his presence added more tension to the room. More power being thrown about… danger, danger, danger. If she was in this situation with a client, she would have ushered them straight out by now. At least they weren’t all Saiyans. Yet, the room somehow got more dangerous. More wildcards, possibilities; hypotheticals she couldn’t account for – a beastman? At first glance, and given her demeanour, this girl seemed a bit less dangerous… ah, but that aura was there. Oh, but the tracksuit was exceptional! Now that was a look she was familiar with. Just needed a bit of grit and a bloodstain or two. Oh well, she seemed to be good-mannered, at least. Though, all she talked about was fighting… e-err, was that the kind of company the Tea Family kept? Maxine kept to herself, cleaning her weapon of choice – only to be met with such an introduction from the young master himself. Her eyes narrowed dangerously… but, she held her tongue. ‘A proper martial artist’… definitely from the wrong generation. Those days were dead. Maxine would never lower herself to such a level; regardless of this boy’s presumed clout. Stories of swords and samurai… were just that. Mere stories… On the other hand, she’d nod along in agreement with his warnings about the state of the facility. She’d learned plenty about that this morning, and didn’t really want to go through it again. As he made his orders, Maxine shut down her opinions, and merely bowed. This was just another job, so her feelings were irrelevant. It did not seem the odds were remotely with them, though… and, the idea of commentary did not excite her in the least. She was just a consumer model, after all… With a smooth, practiced motion, Maxine took off her suit jacket and held it by the collar; carefully folding it up and setting it alongside the rest of the discarded clothes – although it stuck out rather comically with just how pristinely it’d been folded and cared for. ”I am afraid… I have exceptionally little experience with sparring, and no martial arts training – nor interest in it. So, do forgive my area of expertise.” Raising the low-powered energy firearm, Maxine carefully surveyed it before flicking the safety off; peering at her unlikely competition carefully – ”Do not mind your own manners, however. I am expendable. I would prefer if you do not breach my core, though; located in my upper chest – where your oesophagus would be. However, the Tea Family shall have the final decision on whether or not that is acceptable.”Glancing at her newfound partner, Maxine would simply give her usual deep bow. ”UN-11, Maxine. I shall be at your service today. I am unsure if I can offer much more than an extra layer for penetration in my current condition, but I shall be giving my utmost support nonetheless.”
Really, it was a stark reminder. Once upon a time, she had been a bodyguard, but with her debts and age catching up with her… well, she was but an old machine now. Perhaps target practice was best-suited to her after all… [1057/1506] Initiative:Mxm2CW0S1d1001d100

Hachi took the tea cup after Juniper finished the last drop, black leather like tentacles placed the cup over a special pot which had more tea, and the cup served as a cover. Juniper straightened up at the sound of Maxine’s voice, lowering her head to a gentle bow of respect, and smiled tenderly.
“It is good to see you. I am glad I get to see you in action for the first time, Maxine-san.”
Cobalt blue eyes looked over to Fenrir approach, he was rather tall compared to the wooden rafters of the outdoor deck, until he emerged inside the dojo, which had plenty of room for them to practice.
“Good morning, Fenrir-san, Misaki-san, Duke Toma, and Jade-chan.” The tea princess bowed her head gently as they all arrived at the same time.
It was then that Jade went to further explain that she had met her older sister Clove in the West City Tournament, “Ah, yes, I would have participated in the tournament but I was caught up with the others with Capsule Corp business at the time. I am sorry for missing out.” Juniper tilted her head at the last statement, “Well, she does have her own personal designer, so it is not surprising to me that she is heavily invested in fashion. It is her forte and I have to admit it is not one of my personal strengths.”
A spiritual translucent aura radiated from the giant paint brush she held in her hands, it looked like it was well suited to serve as a mop, but it was the most valuable item in her possession necessary for the training session. Finally, Koma arrived, promising to extend his martial arts knowledge to everyone present, a racoon-dog was waddling along side of him, the first time she had seen such a strange creature, that he must have kept as a pet. While recently engaged to this man, she was still learning things about him, and she thought it was adoring that he cared for animals in the same way she cared for Hachi.
Koma wasted no time to form two groups on his command, Juniper had supported Fenrir in a fight before when they were in West City, and she was quite familiar in what he was capable of being grouped with him. However, she had not seen Toma in battle apart from his vassal taking out an entire room full of Devil’s Cooks gang members, so there was a possibility of the Duke matching her prowess or greater. Maxine was also her opponent this time around, she felt rather nervous about fighting anyone, but it was necessary to protect the western lands beginning with this morning exercise.
The stage was set, Juniper motioned over to the center of the training room, there was a line to specify the exact division of the floor being set apart in two halves, and the others were to watch their abilities unfold in the presence of observant eyes. Hachi followed closely after placing the tea set on a small table outside for the servants to take, while it was an even paired match, the truth was a mystic was not a fighter, and the sable colored octopus was her companion in battle.
Juniper took the time to read Duke Toma’s chakras, the sacral chakra of desire was impressive compared to the others, her eyes looked over to Fenrir who had a similar composition, and she recalled her grandfather Oolong and her dearly departed half sibling Ma-Te having the same as these two men. Lust was an interesting emotion, she wondered how it would play out in the heat of battle, and she would do her best not to be distracted in her observation.

Toma was spacing out at the time and playing the act of the fool or class clown, in an attempt to get his potential opponents to lower their guard and relax...at least for now. "Hm? Oh, yes I was! I'm also happy you were able to join us after all, Fenrir." Toma said after blinking a couple times and directing his attention to Fenrir, who's physique he could now more closely observe albeit discretely and would very much like to see his potential without holding back against him. It also wouldn't be long until Koma would then decide whom would be fighting whom, causing Toma's eyebrows to raise before a slight smirk curled to the edges of his lips briefly. "Oh really? Well then, show me what your made of~ I hope I won't disappoint you, that'd be pretty bad." Toma said in a friendly manner with a slightly forced laugh and folded his arms behind his head, playing down his own abilities deliberately to keep up appearances.
Maxine was a different story altogether, however, she was too formal and stiff in Toma's opinion. He got the impression that she was nervous being around so many powerful individuals, especially given that she was an android. "Jeez...you're so stiff Maxine. Relax, it'll be fine~ I believe in you; besides, power isn't everything..." Toma said playfully to Maxine before adding an air of mystery at the end as he let his arms fall back down and he made his way to the center of the room with the others. However, he wasted no time in briefly flashing Juniper a sly knowing smirk, anticipating that she might have read his chakras in that moment. He hasn't actually shown them what he is capable of yet, has he? Well, that was probably all going to change very soon... The only real question that remained in his mind was who would initiate combat first.

Now, she just couldn't believe it. 'Don't worry about it'. As much as she wanted to believe that he was ok with it, she just couldn't find herself to forget about it. It was just a part of her memory that she made him suffer burnt marks because she didn't know how powerful her attacks were. This is because this was her second spar. She wasn't as strong as she was now, but she managed to inflict damage on Fenrir. She remembered thinking that he was more experienced than her in martial arts, but Jade wasn't exactly into. At least, not arrive time. She didn't have a set fighting stance, so she would normally stand upright. It always worked. It used to work perfectly until everyone got more skilled, including Misaki. Now, it would be an absolute pain trying to evade her attacks, but it would be good training.
"Ok, if you say so.. Fenrir-san." She said, sarcastically.
They hadn't really had a good conversation with each other after that encounter. She then went to Misaki, basically asking for another spar sometime later, but not today. She said maybe a few days after this training session has ended, be sure this might be hectic and she'd probably need some rest. Although she finds herself sleeping for hours. Almost a whole day sometimes, if she worked hard the day before. She is still a cat after all. 'Small naps' are key. After explaining to Juniper that she met her older sister at the Central City's Women's Tournament, which was only for females, and had a very good taste for fashion, she began to listen to what Juniper had to say. What she got from the explanation was that her big sister was indeed into style and her choice of clothing.
That was one thing that she liked about Clove. In terms of other stuff? Maybe. Once Koma entered the room, Jade began to examine the Raccoon-Dog creature that accompanied him. She has never actually seen something like that before and she wouldn't know why he had him in the first place. Jade has never actually.. talked to Koma since she moved in. Slightly weird, but it's true. She felt more comfortable having a conversation with Juniper than with Koma. He always seemed.. scary in a weird way. Jade also realised that he is pretty blunt. She got called out for not turning on the spiritual energy powered armors that were installed in the walls. She swore that she switched them on before engaging in battle, although there was a huge chance of her forgetting the last time she did something there.
"Oops." She said, in a very soft tone.
She looked across the room to see if anyone actually paid attention to that exact part. But, by the looks of it, they didn't. Which was slightly relieving. But now, she knew that she looked like some stupid cat in Koma's eyes. Just the way he called her 'pinky no brains', because she forgot to turn on the thing. Yeah, she'll definitely remember to do it after that scolding. Once he finally began to discuss the teams, she listened attentively. Hearing that she would sit out the first few moments of the fight didn't make her feel bad at all. Because she totally knew why. It was obvious. Her point of view was basically because Misaki and Jade were pretty strong, compared to the others, they would help the others out by giving them tips and pointers where necessary. Fair enough.
"Ok, I'll just step to the side for the time being." She said, as she began to make her way towards the transparent glass window and watched as they got ready to start the team spar.

Misaki took a deep breath, stepping to the side as she politely shrunk her energies inwards, a skin-tight green barrier forming. While she knew they were not engaging in battle, she'd have no way - and no reason - to blame anyone for a missed shot in the intensity of combat, nor was she willing to take damage for such a mistake.
"Understood, Lord Koma." Misaki would say with a polite smile, silently shrinking inwards. training or not, she didn't know how she felt about doing another battle in this fashion. joining in later was merely mildly disappointing, her natural drive for battle creating a sliver of impatience, but Misaki was impatient about many things that she'd found patience for regardless. In this regard, Misaki was merely concerned about the idea of giving advice. Regardless of recent training, she'd only just dipped her toes into the realm of martial arts - of fighting - and in that she felt that she was only just learning how to use her energy. Compared to some of those here, who had spent their entire lives training, did she really have anything to offer to such a battle in terms of fighting tips? She certainly still felt like a beginner, in many ways.
Still, Misaki had agreed to do what she could already. She was one of Lord Koma and Lady Juniper's employees, and she was determined to fulfill any duty given. More importantly, she was strong, so she would succeed at her duty or use every bit of her energy trying. That was how Misaki Kazamiya was, and she was determined to live and die by that logic.
Taking a step back, she observed the other patrons. Toma, another duke. Fenrir, a martial artist she met during the Devil's cookbook incident. She hadn't the chance to see them fight properly then... perhaps she'd get a chance now?
At the same time, she'd certainly seen Fenrir unload with his own skills in the recent west city incident, and Juniper was no less impressive. This would be an impressive display of skills.
Jade, meanwhile, was quite a powerhouse, though she seemed to have her own style. Misaki shrugged. They'd tested their powers against eachother before, so she figured it would come down to the tips they could give moreso than their power. they were relatively close in the past, though Misaki wondered if she'd really trained as hard as Misaki had recently. well, they would simply have to find out.

Koma waited to call the beginning of the fight until he had popped a squat and Shortcake had arrived in the room, carrying a platter of tea and snacks which were easily four times as big as she was. The little fairy did it with grace none the less, insistent on her lack of need for help even when the Tanuki, Gerald, moved to try to make her trip.
After it was done, and the tea was placed in front of Koma, who placed a saucer and tea cup for Gerald and one for Shortcake before pouring them tea and providing them with snacks, then pouring himself some Koma finally looked up to the assembled.
“Shortcake and Gerald will be assisting me in the grading of this fight, and in my assessments of your moves. Vulk-san, Maxine-san, please begin for your sides.”
Then the half-Saiyan samurai poured himself tea, steaming hot. The smell of an orange pekoe blend ascended into the air from his cup, not the sort of matcha favored by many in the Western Lands. He took the next moment to pick up a pistachio from the bowl of nuts on the platter and peel it, eating it before beginning to peel another.

The tanuki that had been following Koma around had caught the wolf's attention. He allowed his eyes to peer over it and a small grin crossed his face. It was so small and round and fluffy, it looked like a stuffed animal whom had life breathed into it by a benevolent deity, maybe one day it'll be a real boy. The thought almost made him chuckle and he watched the small furry creature as it walked about. He had noticed everyone else coming in.
Ever since he had arrived at this compound, he had meet a few people there; of course, he'd met Juniper. She was the one whom had introduced him to the compound, invited him, in the first place. But even then, this was an interesting turn of events. First, he was called into the training room; apparently the dour faced, scarred, samurai wanted them all there, and it was a mandatory attendance type deal, so he couldn't just skip out on it and hide in his room and perhaps cook something for them later to make up for his absence. Nope, he had to be there. Juni was there. A new girl named Maxine was there. Jade, the pink haired cat girl, also appeared. As did several others. Every few seconds, someone else would crop up at the training room doors and enter the chamber through the threshold, wondering why they were called there. Ultimately the samurai, Koma, arrived and he was accompanied by the aforementioned strange looking creature, a raccoon dog who barked in response to whatever the man was saying - Fenrir didn't pay much attention - and waddled off to the side.
Every day he spent in that compound brought a new surprise. Now there were tanuki and... what was that over there? Something, or someone, came in. It was a fairy. She was holding a rather large tray. He could not help but stare at her in curiosity. But off to the side, Koma was giving orders to everyone.
Fenrir was tasked by the samurai to pair up with Juni, the Tea Princess, to take on.... Maxine and someone else, apparently the big muscular Toma. Unfortunately, Toma did not appear to be particularly interested; he more or less just stood off to the side as he took in the surroundings of the training room. It was, at least, interesting and filled with high tech training equipment. So he would give him that much. It was easy to get distracted.
"Hm, well, I guess we're pairing up then," He peered over at Juni with a bit of a sly grin that crossed his features. He tapped his chin, "I'll try to be of use to you." He turned to face his opponent, or at least one of the two. "Mayhaps you should find another partner?" He motioned to Toma who appeared distracted, "He's not really all that here at the moment, perhaps the plant girl would suffice?" He peered over at the young Misaki; she was an interesting one with her control over plants.
The wolf could also sense that she had some power behind her.
"How's that sound to you? If Toma wishes to participate, that works for me as well. I'm good either way with whomever my opponent is."
