In the darkness of the temple, something shifted through the shadows. A man, dressed in what seemed like an odd set of high-grade armour with a cloak that hugged around his body, moved through the corridors. There was a mask covering his face, which was as black as the outfit he wore, with white visors for each of his eyes to look through. The man, slightly hunched in his gait as he walked, had a smaller and more energetic-seeming figure moving alongside him, who seemed to try and copy the way he walked. The smaller was a boy, a young teenager at least, with tanned skin and dark hair poking out from his own bird-like mask. He had a greenish suit that seemed very much a mimic of the taller man's. Eventually, the older and leader of the two, Vali, stopped to turn and face his young ward, stopping both of them in their tracks as the boy looked up in curiosity. "Look, Celerai. I know I usually bring you along, but this time, I'm giving you an out. This is personal for me. Very personal. On top of that, it's dangerous - whatever Kringle has down here will be the most dangerous things I've faced. That anyone's faced. So, go home."Vali turned and kept walking, only to see the plucky Saiyan boy run up and keep walking alongside him. "Didn't you hear me?" The boy glanced up towards his mentor, tilting his head curiously. "Did you ask for help if you get in trouble? From King Pota, or the Sorceress?" The dark-suited man kept walking, his deep voice responding with a reply that almost sounded uninterested, yet befuddled by the question he was being asked. "No." He could hear the Saiyan's pep beginning to pick up in his step as he kept up with the taller man, who was stuck listening to more questions. "Any Justice Council members at all?" Yet again, the same tone and answer came out as before. "No." He could almost feel the grin behind Celerai's mask, and sure enough, he seemed to get more enthusiastic as he continued to go deeper into the temple, despite Vali's warnings. "Then I'm all the backup you've got! How could I leave?" Vali wasn't sure how to respond, so he didn't, and kept silent as he entered the chamber below, through a deep spiral staircase. Suddenly, he saw where he was. He was not inside some ancient temple, but he was home. At least, the place he had been told was home. What had been stolen from him. It was Christmas. The village he had lived in, that he had always lived in. He crossed over the snowy ground, through the main street and realised that the entire chamber was a recreation - how could this be? Why would he do this? When the true Vidar stepped through into the same chamber, the shadow version, the dark-suited man from another timeline and his young ward, recoiled. Vali was in a mask, yet he knew the face this mechanical monster bore. More importantly, he knew the make of his enhancements. "You. You're- how? How did Kringle find out? Answer me!" Vali's arms moved out from his cloak, and it was clear that his gauntlets had spiked metal ridges coming out of the sides. More strangely, his left arm matched the one Vidar had lost exactly; it was the same make, a cybernetic from Doctor Kringle.

Vidar had walked into the strange temple, with its odd non-euclidean architecture, its mind twisting angles, and its pitch black material that looked like obsidian but wasn't. He had gone in, calling back to the tall muscular tiger, telling him that he would find his student, his disciple, but he had no idea who Achido was, or what he looked like. That was one little detail he had forgotten to ask. And as he stepped inside, the doors of the temple groaned with age and weight and slammed shut. Immediately, he was engulfed in the darkness that flooded the corridors of this strange and Eldritch temple.
Of course, he was prepared. His eyes, his scanners, glowed a searing gold in the dark as his HUD activated a night vision sense and he was able to see in front of himself, walking through the corridors with curiosity. Even the interior of the temple gave him an odd feeling, a strange sensation that something was just not right, not natural, about the whole place. He could not quite put his finger on it, but it felt as if he were back on that hungry island with its anomalous fish creatures and their bulging milky white eyes and slimy scaly flesh and their smell of dead sea life.
However, what he did not feel were the energy signatures of anyone else; at least, he could not detect them. His HUD was not reading them. He had felt them when he arrived, he had felt them congregating at the temple. Now inside, he didn't feel anything aside from the growing sense of unease that something about the place was wrong, alive, breathing, and it knew that he was there.
Every step he took drew it deeper into the temple, farther into the depths, and the shadows appeared to almost undulate around him, parting as if he were a stone in a sea of nothing, a river of blackness, and he was traversing through it, trying to find the people whom had entered the temple.
His HUD was scanning, though as it did, he noticed that occasionally it would twitch, a small burst of static snow would race across the screen and he stopped, patted his temple as if he were trying to knock sense into his head then he'd continue on, looking around carefully.
Something swept down the passage. It was like a wave. It hit him. Or it didn't. It was hard to describe. It was as if he was pulled into something, pushed out of the passage and into the snow.
He was standing in snow. There was a breeze. It was chilling, it swept around him, kicking up snow flakes that danced and swayed around his legs. It caused the nearby trees to rattle in place; thick blankets of snow plummeted from the skeletal branches with an unceremonious thwomp. It sounded like a bag of potatoes hitting a kitchen floor, dull and heavy.
But, how did he get out there? His scanners were working overdrive, scanning over the area as his vision returned to normal, deactivating the night vision he had been using to get around.
He knew this snow. How could he not know this place? He had seen so many pictures of it. He had it ingrained in his memory, the videos, and he had gone there once, once that he could remember. It was the town called Christmas, always under snow, even in the summer. But, how did he get there? He hadn't gone outside. He hadn't left the temple. Even as the cold wind hit him, even as the snow piled around his feet, he could feel the strange undercurrent of wrong that continued to flow around him.
All this was fake. He looked around. None of it was real. Not the snow, nor the breeze, nor the sky; some kind of audio-visual hallucination created by the temple? But how and why?
Something caught his attention then. He heard movement, and alongside that, he heard voices. He could not see their faces, but his scanners swept over them, eyes giving off their soft glow as they worked. The man who had shouted to him, he did not know him. He did not know anyone who looked like that. Or at least, he did not recall anyone that looked like that. He would remember someone who looked like that.
They mentioned Doctor Kringle and that gave the blonde cyborg a moment's pause. He had been about to speak when they shouted out the scientist's name. "... Doctor Kringle is dead. He has been dead for a long time. Who are you supposed to be?"

But eventually, they found themselves coming to land a plan where there were two warriors in a similar conflict like the one they had just escaped. He had no idea who this person was. He could not see their face. But he felt wrong. Much like the rest of this place, this person just felt wrong, as if they didn't quite belong; much like a stick figure in the middle of a work of art in a museum, this person just felt so out of place that Vidar couldn't help but want to look the other way. But, he could not look away. "Who are you? Please identify." He asked the person, not demanding but still asking with a somewhat strong but polite tone. The person that was with them, not as tall, but there was something alien about them as well. "How do you know Doctor Kringle?" He decided to question further, "Were you one of his scientific contacts?" He queried this strange individual further. Perhaps this person was why this whole felt wrong? No, that theory was not right; the main reason being because even before he had entered the odd temple, he had felt that there was something innately wrong about it. No, that feeling had to come from elsewhere, there had to be some kind of simple explanation, though he didn't know just what that explanation was. "I was sent here to rescue a missing student," The cyborg commented, being up front about why he was there, there was no point in obfuscating or lying about the situation, adding, "Have you seen someone by the name of Achido?" In the meantime, the blonde man's power rose, though he did not do so visibly or outwardly so as not to startle the two men in front of him, mainly as a precautionary measure. Ace of Spades While it appears to look like a regular barrage of energy attacks, Vidar rains a volley of flame augmented energy spheres at his opponent, the attacks do not appear to really be aimed at anyone in particular; looking to miss. However, almost all the energy spheres are weak and would do no damage, except for one which hovers in between Vidar's opponents. This one will detonate and cause a large firestorm within a radius of itself in an attempt to engulf as many opponents as possible. As a precaution Kinryu Kyto released some of his power causing his aura to flare out briefly as he stood between these two warriors. When Kinryu heard Vidar mention the name of one of the students who were lost inside of this cursed temple, he knodded his head yes. “Achido?”“Yes that is one of Master Daiko’s students.” Mai-Mai said happily realizing this man might be from their home world. She smiled and clapped her hands in joy briefly as she jumped lightly up into the air several times. “We are here to rescue them. You as well?”It was clear due to the tension of his body, that Kinryu Kyto was sceptical if either of them were truly from their home world nor to trust either one of them. Vali could feel himself start to get more and more irritated with this mechanical facsimile. How did Kringle get a hold of his face, knowing what he looked like, and then turned it into something like this? Was it to mock him, to show him what the Doctor had always intended for him? The thought of it ramped up feelings of fear and anger, of the trauma he'd already experienced at the hands of a madman. The horrible fate that so many others had already had to suffer. Who was this man, before his body was torn apart and replaced for Kringle's machinations, his very identity, or what was left of it, stripped off of the automaton he had become and used as nothing more than something to bother Kringle's enemy? Vali's fist clenched in anger as he stood there, at the monstrosity of it all. "I'm not playing any of your games. If Kringle is dead, then good riddance. I don't know who activated you, but I'm going to end this. Nobody's going to suffer like you did, whoever you used to be." Vali readied himself, seeming to take a fighting stance before reaching towards the area of his belt, within his cloak. The man in this odd armour and masked cloak pulled out two, sharp-looking implements. They were similar to knives or perhaps Kunai, but made of a more advanced metal. Runes of some sort seemed to travel down them in design, glowing and revealing some kind of inner technological workings on the weapons. The hostile tone coming from the deep voice behind the mask never changed, and though he seemed ready to attack, Vali was suddenly distracted. Two young people - what were they doing in Kringle's labs, even only this far into the strange base he'd made for himself? What was this, some kind of trick? They mentioned the same name as the murderous copy that Kringle had created to stop him in his tracks; maybe there were more missing people down here, and if this 'Achido' was one of them, then Vali would get him out of here, too. "Kringle has been dead for a long time. I believe his mechanical heart gave out before he could awaken me." He spoke, his voice calm, not emotionless just not angry or nervous. He was speaking to someone in his normal tone, soft spoken, polite, a matter of fact kind of tone; that tone had annoyed Hebihime when she awoke him. Why, he did not know, but he knew that it had apparently grated on the woman's nerves. But, it was how he spoke, it was how he was taught how to speak, so he could not change it. "I was activated by a woman who called herself Hebihime," he continued to speak, to answer the man's questions or comments. Then the strange man, whose face he had yet to see, made a comment , "But, I did not suffer." He attempted to correct the man's assumption, "I do not recall my life prior to the lab. I do not recall my own name. Nor do I remember my own voice." He tapped his throat, "But, I did not suffer. Doctor Kringle created me with a simple purpose. To protect life from any and all threats, both from without and those from within." He lowered his hand at his side, his only functional hand as his other arm, Vali would notice, was gone. "I came to Pilaf Land to replace my missing limb and to upgrade my systems." It was at that point in time that the blonde cyborg heard someone off to the side, he felt them, and he peered over with his bright yellow irises. He saw Shin. He did not know this man. He had a feeling he had seen him somewhere else before but he could not quite place just where it was that he had seen him. "I am not a threat," Vidar added, speaking up once again to be heard over the soft whispering sound of the chilling breeze that blew around them, tossing up bits of snow into the air as if they were inside of a massive snow globe, "You see, I have not attempted any type of aggressive action. I also shall not attempt any such action unless you force me to do so." He turned his eyes away from Shin and toward Vali and the young man beside him, "I refuse to participate in needless fighting. I will not become the monster you wish me to be. If you wish to speak, speak. If you wish to fight, I will continue on my way and you can find someone else to unleash your pent up aggression on. I refuse to be your punching bag," he said flatly. He noticed the man had gone for a weapon. He did not move. Vidar was not about to cause this man to get itchy trigger fingers. However, quietly, he did allow his power to grow once again. It would not be felt, being a cyborg his energies could not be detected and he did not put on a show of flaring his energies either. Vali lowered his knife a little... he could almost sense a strange kinship with this robot. Maybe that was Kringle's intention though... he was a wily manipulator. That came with the territory of being an insane genius, one would suppose. These three people had been given every opportunity to strike at him and Celerai and had not. In the absence of hostility, he couldn't keep his knives out. He sheathed them and had he still needed to breathe, he would have sighed. A thought floated across the surface of his mind.. If they aren't enemies... they still aren't friends. Unless they want to become the enemy of my enemy. He looked them over, the other cyborg so like himself... and the young woman mentioned that he and this other were alike... twins somehow. Mirrors, more like if he understood correctly. "Very well... if you are truly no slaves of Kringle, and if you won't leave, please join me in stopping him! He is enslaving whole towns, sacking and killing most of them... those he doesn't kill he converts into slave cyborgs for his army. The other man lowered his weapon. It was some kind of knife, though Vidar could not identify the type. Either way, it was put away, and that is what mattered most to him at the moment. He could figure out what kind of knife he is wielding later. He had already managed to get a decent amount of data on the man through his retinal scanners already - height, guesstimated weight, etc. He had also attempted to get some information on his clothing and equipment simply through visual scanning. A file was in the process of being created in his HUD for future reference and archiving, "I was never a slave of Doctor Kringle. At least, not the Doctor whom I am acquainted with," The blonde cyborg commented, his eyes trailing over the other man then over his companion, studying them and their movements, though not seeing anything threatening or anything that could be interpreted as threatening, "He created and programmed me in order to safeguard the planet. I do not believe that sounds like someone who would enslave towns or kill its populace. However, if they are correct," he allowed his eyes to drift somewhat over to Mai-Mai then back to Vali, "and you and I are mirrors of each other, then I can only assume that the Doctor Kringle you encountered is a mirror of the one whom I know."
Multiverse theory? Was that a possibility? Theoretical physics did propose the idea of a multiverse, multiple Earths, each one created whenever anyone on the planet made a choice, each choice caused a new Earth to be created where they made a different choice, and on and on and on, and an infinite number of Earths existed. But, again, that was just a theory. Though, if this man in front of him was another Vidar, then it may not be a theory anymore.
"If you wish for me to work with you, first I need a name," He said plainly, "My name is Vidar. You are?" He questioned, looking at Vali, then over at his comrade, "And I would also inquire into your name as well."
Though, probably to the surprise of Vali and his compatriot, he also turned to look at Shin and his followers, "...I also do not know you."
When Vali asked about that strange designation - Designation Delta Omega, Countersign Tango Foxtrot - Vidar turned to face him, head tilted slightly in confusion, though he searched through his archives, his HUD streaming through all of the files he had access to - and the archives were extensive, including all of the files of Doctor Kringle as well as all of the files he managed to take from the Red Ribbon Army before he defected. It took a matter of seconds.

Vali sheathed his knives when the 3 people facing him had no response to Kringle's override command. He was honestly shocked at the direction this was going, it had been a long time since he had met new potential allies. As he spoke, he pointed first to himself and then his companion, "I am called Vali, and this is Celerai, he tags along sometimes, even when he shouldn't and is told not to." A touch of frustration colored his voice as he turned to half glare at his companion. He shook his head and softened his tone as the lad looked defiantly back at him, "Still, I'm glad you're here, Celerai."
Turning back to Shin and Vidar, he pointed to a nearby hallway with a steel door at the end, "According to my information, Niklaus Kringle is behind those doors, which is why I thought you lot might be some sort of final guardians he had put in place. Shinryu, I respect your willingness to fight wounded, take care. The doctor will not hesitate to take advantage of your injury if he perceives a weakness. Let's proceed, be cautious."
Vali led the way down the hall with deliberate footsteps, eyes darting and scanning constantly, clearly on edge. Almost in complete silence, his footsteps making no discernable noise as his black clothed form finally reached the end of the hallway. He knelt and pressed his ears against the door and listened for a few moments before shaking his head and waving the others forward. "Soundproof. We'll have to bust it down, it's sealed somehow from the inside. If we count down to 3 and hit the door together, I'm sure we can bust through it... when you're both ready, count it down and we'll bust in."

It appeared that the strange individual had listened to both Vidar as well as Shin and Mai-Mai. They were not a threat nor an enemy. None of them knew anything about that strange designation; while Vidar saved the designation to his files, he had nothing in any of his archives that matched it. Perhaps it was something that was lost over time? A file that was deleted? No, that couldn't be it. He just didn't have any file with any mention of that designation, so the only thing he could imagine is that this double, this doppelganger of him, had lived a very different life than he had. Apparently, the fact that none of them knew a thing about that designation had been enough to convince the man that neither of the three of them were enemies of his; convince him enough to have Vali introduce himself as well as his companion. So they were named Vali and Celerai; he quickly added that information to the files he had begun to create for the two of them in his HUD.
"Niklaus..." He stopped for a moment, as he had gone to follow the man named Vali and his ward, "He had never told me his name. At least, the Doctor Kringle that I know. He was always Doctor Kringle to me." It was news to Vidar; even in the files that Doctor Kringle had of himself, he never used his first name in any of them that he could find.
He did take note that Shin appeared to be injured and as Vali walked past with Celerai in tow, Vidar allowed his yellow irises to take on a soft warm glow as he scanned over Shin. He did note his injuries, "Take great caution while dealing with this particular enemy. If you feel you need to flee, I suggest you do so. I will, however, attempt to be as useful a support for you as possible." He then followed after Vali and Celerai, allowing Shin and Mai-Mai to follow along and keep up with them.
His movements were deliberate, somewhat slow. He was watching Vali and his companion, following their lead, attempting to make as little noise as possible. His eyes sweeping over the area, more out of habit than out of nerves as he had no idea just what was going on and had no reason to be afraid.
Once the small group reached the door and he was waved forward, he stepped up to the doorway and looked over the door in their way, "Does not appear to be heavily reinforced. I agree that if we attack it all at once, we should be able to bring it down." He moved his body somewhat, sliding into a comfortable stance as he clenched his fist, cocking it back somewhat, "Three....two..." He began to count down, giving Shin and Vali the chance to get into their own spot so they could all hit the door all at once together.

Vali smirked a bit at Shin's comment about Celerai, but he came to his young sidekick's defense as he took his place near to Vidar and carefully left room for the lad. "He can be a handful at times... but he is loyal and is out to do good." He braced himself and unleashed his attack on the door on Vidar's count, his fist joining the other's attacks to strike the solid steel door and crumpling it before their combined might and launching it into the room. The echoes of the steel scraping across the stone floor grated in their ears as the lab was revealed to them.
It was a makeshift operating room, with several automated machines cutting away at people replacing limbs with mechanical ones. A few cyborgs walked through, supervising the surgeries and making sure their new comrades in arms were programmed correctly. At the far end of the sprawling room, an old looking man stood on a raised dais, surveying the changes. His iron grey hair was a wild mane around his bony face. His fevered blue eyes darted around rapidly, almost as if they couldn't keep up with everything he wanted to see. He turned his cold gaze upon the intruders in his room and cocked an eyebrow as he saw what appeared to be two versions of his greatest failure. His voice, cold and mocking, rang out over the sounds of the room, "Vali, Vali, Vali... my son. You always said you would never create someone like yourself. You would never stoop to my level, remember those words?"
A mad chuckle rang out into the room as he moved his spindly limbs to sit into a nearby hovering pod and started to drift towards them, continuing, "Have you finally embraced my principles? I admit that some would see making a copy of yourself a little... gauche... but I can appreciate it. Come and help me with the latest batch of slave soldiers, Vali - you were always meant to be my heir. This is your last chance - join me or be ended. I will kill the saiyin idiots and the wench, but if you willingly join me, I would like to see your work... I will spare the extra Vali for the moment."
