In the middle of the night Melody was practicing with her sword, cutting through the air with enough force to pick up the wet sand below her bare feet, and despite wearing a weighted wet-suit as clothing she moved fluidly into a dance in a clear display of her artistry with a blade. The ocean waves drew nearer on the sandy beach as the night carried on in a high tide, the moon was full, and the boardwalk was empty of the typical tourists that frequented in the day to enjoy the sights. The sea life was awake nearby, tiny crabs scuttering about to avoid birds of prey, and the faint sounds of seagulls echoed against the sound of frequent waves. It was all tranquil and quite a breath of fresh sea air to the Duchess as she worked up a sweat in her regiment. The lights from the boardwalk illuminated part on the beach she was standing in, at least fifty two yards away before it faded away from the rolling waves, and she stopped swinging her sword as she was expecting someone. The beach was the arena with her promised spar with Kiryu, the boy who believed his magic was drawn simply from his imagination and was unpredictable whenever it was cast. However, she never saw any fault in those abilities, he was infallible with the use of his imagination to create something out of nothing. It did not seem like he wanted his confidence bolstered any further than he displayed but rather tested to the best of his abilities. The evacuation of South city and giant shark was but a memory now. With the dangers still running rampant in the world there was never a dull moment to keep on training. As Duchess of Truffle Village, in the western lands, she always kept her power level unsuppressed, it kept namekians from invading on her territory, and the monsters that swelled from Baba Yaga’s domain to cower in fear. While some beings were unhindered by her power she welcomed the challenge of being a target. A surge of violet energy bolstered her base power level to a reading of twelve thousand seven hundred and sixty. It was the signal to have the boy wonder emerge to the sandy battlefield but she did not expect it to draw anyone else looking for a fight. The entire beach was set to be a battle for the ages worthy of a notable page in earth history. A smile was drawn on her face, she never cared for history, but she treasured every memory in her life. Peace. Quiet. Some semblance of the things he had done mattering, to give his recent exploits verisimilitude. In a perfect world, that is what Kiryu would have sought out, because after everything he had been through lately, after the bandits and monsters and ridiculously powerful entities he had come across, surely the young man deserved some rest. He was eighteen, for crying out loud. There were so many things he had yet to do. Hell, he had never gone to a concert, never had a week without training, never been able to actually get drunk... had barely even kissed a girl.
But this was not a perfect world, and Kiryu knew, despite the urges he had for play and a bit of irresponsible recklessness, that he had been born and raised and trained and forge for one reason. It was to carry the burden of the path he had chosen. He could do it. He would, and do it well... but that didn't mean that, from time to time, he wished he could just have a damn night off.
Well, Kiryu thought to himself, At least she picked a good spot for it.
Melody was a new acquaintance of Kiryu's. They had met in South City, dealing with a primordial, megalithic aquatic monstrosity that had appeared to be a mixture between a shark and an octopus. Oh... and the freaking thing had flown through the air. They had managed to evacuate the innocent civilians of the city, but the entire experience had made one thing perfectly clear to the both of them.
There were still incredible, unknown powers in the world, and to face them, they needed to get stronger.
As Melody's power flared up, Kiryu could sense it as clearly as if a flare had been fired into the sky, illuminating the environment above Melody's location. It was certainly an impressive power level, one of the higer that Kiryu had felt, especially for a fellow human being. Despite Kiryu's general ennui and wish for a break, a grin began to creep onto his face, and he could feel the hair on his arms stand on end.
Whatever else he was, Kiryu was a warrior, and he could not wait to test himself in an honest contest against his new ally.
Kiryu had been roughing it, camping out in the wilderness. When he felt Melody's signal, he quickly struck camp, packing up his tent and possessions. Since he had gained more awareness and mastery over his magical talents, he had found that he could create small pocket dimensions to store his belongings. It was a simple exertion of will to summon specific items when he needed them, and it made traveling far more convenient. Kiryu sent his tent and his supplies into that pocket dimension, eschewing placing them into capsules for the moment. He tugged a bit at the necklace he had taken to wearing, a leather thong on which rested a piece of crystal that he had picked up from the cave where he had found his crystal ball. The gesture had become something of a nervous habit. Kiryu quickly made sure the items he routinely used were ready, securing the weighted undershirt he normally wore under his robes, and then he set out.
Luckily, Melody happened to not be far away. Kiryu reached her after five minutes of swift motion, leaping from tree to tree and dashing quickly towards where he felt Melody's power level. As he neared, the smell of the sea reached his nose, and he breathed deep, welcoming the sensation of fresh ocean air. As he emerged from the wilderness, he saw a boardwalk off in the distance. The white shores reflected the moon and stars and ambient, man made light in a striking fashion, and Kiryu's eyes were drawn to Melody. If he were more worldly, Kiryu's gaze may have lingered over Melody's form, displayed by her wet suit. Instead Kiryu merely marked her form, her stance, scanning her body for any telltale motions, any muscle twitches that might tip him off and give him an edge in their coming contest.
"Fancy meeting you here," Kiryu called out affably, waving as he approached Melody. A pleasant smile was etched onto his face. In sharp contrast to Melody, Kiryu kept his own power level suppressed for the time being. His father had always instructed him to keep a tight rein on his abilities, only utilizing his full power if it was absolutely necessary, and Kiryu had taken it to heart. Kiryu was intensely aware of the havoc that the power of ki users could wreak on the environment. Stories of the powerful warriors of old spoke of cities being destroyed, and large swathes of terrains destroyed merely by an explosion of power.
"I'm glad you decided to do this. Winner buys the beer afterwards?"

Post by Cayle Pota on Dec 9, 2019 3:13:52 GMT -8
Cayle Pota, son of Pota Potaset, long in his line of Saiyan peasants, had not been from an exactly standard Saiyan family before his abduction by the Tuffle Science Executive along with his younger siblings. Even with much of his childhood suppressed or not brought forth to his memory out of sheer survival instincts, he still knew he had a normal, happy childhood for a Saiyan in his era of Planet Plant. He knew his parents and his siblings, he had friends and rivals, he played games with his siblings, cousins, and neighbors when he was not hard at work helping tend the rugged, dusty collection of homesteads which they lived in. He had even had a pet Whitefang, which had no name because one did not name the animals which might have to be killed for food or because it attacked one of the livestock or one of the other children, though it had died during the attack which had seen he and the other children abducted. A tuffle bullet had brought it to the afterlife, if whitefangs, or other pets even went on to heaven. That was then, and this was now. Cayle Pota had taken the little saiyan girl who clung to him, Konja, and Jack in most cases out with him around the city, especially after she had demanded to meet Tiger Lily and seen first hand, rather than in storybooks of a computer, what a 'Dog' was. Tiger Lily had claimed to be busy with part time work, but had also asked if Cayle could walk Dogwood Lily for her and her uncle while she was at work because Toad Lily was having one of his episodes of studying as if he could not stop. So now he strode through the streets with the indeterminate aged little girl holding his hand and holding the leash of the Lily family's pet pug, Dogwood, as they went through the streets of South City. She looked excited at every new sight, smell and sound, and Cayle felt a little guilty at the fact he had not given Nalta more attention or allowed her to enter school- even if they could have falsified records to get her enrolled in one of South City's public schools in the first place, given the nature of the Saiyan's situation. So he simply enjoyed walking with this girl who was the closest thing to a little sister he had until he found and freed his little sisters for real. Even as she walked through the streets and occassionally fiddled with the Earthling clothing which she was still getting used to wearing, a sweater, which he had insisted she wear when they left the warehouse which served as the massive communal home for the thirty-two Saiyans which he and Konja had saved from the Tuffle bunker facility on Mount Allium. He would have probably spent the night walking Dogwood with her, but circumstances of fate decided to change the plans for the night. (Nalta, Pictured) “C-Cayle... I feel funny. Like there are Tuffles nearby or strong people..” the untrained Saiyan girl spoke up as they stood there, and in her fear of the Tuffles, she dropped the leash of Dogwood. The dog, well trained and smart as he was did not speed off, but soon a squadron of skateboarders sped past the duo and with a yelp scooped the expensive canine up and began to toss it back and forth between them as a taunt as they sped off with their dognapping victim. “I'm sorry, Cayle! I was apposed to be holding the leash of Dogwood!” Nalta practically cried at the kidnapping of the dog, but Cayle shook his head and ruffled her hair. “Stay right here, and if any strange people try to talk to you? Remember when I talked to you about not energy blasting people just because they scare you? That doesn't apply to them, Nalta.” Then he was rushing forward, down the boardwalk and after the skateboarders. He stayed on foot, with his energy suppressed but ran at the full pace which his considerable strength and frame would provide. After a few minutes, Cayle caught back up with them and got his retribution. With knots on their heads and their skateboards thrown far away onto the beach, Cayle strode back to the little Saiyan girl with the dog, petting the pug as he did. When he got back, he handed her the leash and put Dogwood back down, before Nalta fearfully said again. “I still feel that funny feeling, Cayle... I'm a little scared.” the green haired Saiyan girl said, and because of that Cayle opened his focus and the proverbial non-physical sensory organ which provided the ability to sense spiritual energy. Suddenly he felt to powerful sources of spiritual energy, stronger than any of his compatriots at the moment, and from at least one of them he sensed a sense of malice, avarice, and selfishness. Without a word, he slipped his jacket and t-shirt off, slipping them into his backpack and putting the backpack on Nalta's shoulders. If there would be a fight, he would be ready for it. He wouldn't allow the littlest member of his clan to be in danger, and if there were agents of the Tuffle Science Executive present, he wouldn't allow them to follow Nalta and himself back to their homebase. With an upper body covered in a litany of scars, he likely seemed very strange walking forward with a little girl holding his hand and a dog on a leash. “If there's any trouble, take Dogwood and run. If you get lost, let him guide you back to Tiger Lily's and ask her to call Konja and Jack with my cell phone. It's in the backpack. Okay, Nalta?” he said in a whisper, before shaking his head and speaking up, this time to them. “Or is there a reason you're swaggering around with your spiritual energy unsuppressed?” and then he recognized the green haired woman. “Hey! I know you! You're the one who got hit by Luther the Rapper's car and then beat unconscious by him. I think your lawyers got a copy of the traffic light footage from the incident.” [1041]

Atalan walked briskly down the path towards the beach, hefting his backpack with his telescope back up into place on his back as he went. This beach was a little more isolated, and should afford him a better view of the meteor shower that was supposed to be occurring this night. There were almost no homes close to this beach, so the light pollution from the maggots infesting this land shouldn't be as much of an issue. He was a bit excited; he had an inkling that the star silver from the mine had come from something like a meteor, and he wanted to try out some things he had learned to try to call some of them down. A bright violet beacon lit all of a sudden on the beach... he opened his senses and extended them towards the light. There was someone there alright and they were trying to show off their power. He sighed, and reluctantly let go of the idea of trying to summon a meteor to the earth. He had a feeling that this would be more important.
As he reached the beach, he turned towards the light and started striding confidently towards it. He cast his senses out again... there were 3 people there now. What in the hells had he stumbled on? As he came closer, the players in this drama came into focus. There was a green haired woman standing with her back to him and facing two men, the first a human that appeared to be wearing some kind of monks robes or something. His power felt... familiar... a fellow practitioner of some sort. The large man appeared to be a brutish shirtless saiyin that radiated power. The green haired woman herself was wielding a sword and from what he could feel she was a human as well. Interesting dynamic... with me involved there will be two wizards and two warriors... With that thought he realized he had decided to become involved for better or worse. he shrugged and decided he should introduce himself.
He stepped into the proximity of the other fighters slowly and cleared his throat to announce his presence and that he was not intent on ambushing them. He eyed each of them in turn, his golden eyes shining, "Greetings, warriors. I am the Baron Atalan, of the southern demon lands. I came here to observe a meteor shower... but couldn't help but sense the gathering of power here... what transpires here? I was wondering if I had chanced upon some sort of disagreement, or perhaps a training session. Either way I hope you don't mind my intrusion. I'm not leaving even if you do, as it seems there won't be any meteor watching tonight. So are you going to beat each other into the sand or what?"

“How about sake bombs? Beer and Sake do have a distinct taste together.” Melody smiled upon the arrival of Kiryu and her violet eyes darted from the teenage boy towards a shirtless scarred saiyan, she only recognized him by the tail being worn like a belt as his type are rampant in Oolong city, and another mysterious man with golden eyes appeared close in age to the others apart from the fact that he did not carry himself with the same teenage swagger; she leveled with Atalan recognizing that were the same in age. The revelation of her losing fight against an adroid instigated after getting hit by his car at full speed while crossing the street being brought back up by Cayle forced her to cut her teeth. “Luther, the rapper...so his name is not Luke? Hmm, must be some nick name, I understood less than half of the things he said in that incident. I assume you were looking through security tapes because he evaded another crime, has he?”
Atalan introducing himself made her snort, “A demon Barron...meteor shower...whatever possessed you to come here for that reason alone means you must be by far the worst ruler to occupy your time with the sky. Look around, there are people here on earth who can easily remove you of your lofty title in a duel, so you better button up or shut up. That is the way of the Pig Demon Duchies.” “I am a very busy Duchess myself, I need to return to the Western Lands tomorrow, and I don’t have time to cut down all of you individually and still make it to the bar in time for sake before they close for the night. So let’s get this over with, come on, fall in line.”Melody took a step back with a brief glance at Kiryu and a shrug of her shoulders as an indication that the more was merrier. If it meant exponential growth for all of them, she was more than welcome to it, and she took up a blade master’s stance. [351] [784] Cayle Pota Kiryu Atalan qqiySWRL1d1001d100

"Sake bombs sound like a plan! Though now it looks like we may run a little low on Zeni if one of us is going to be buying for everyone."
Kiryu raked his hand through his hair, turning surprised eyes at the newcomers. He had certainly not intended on his and Melody's party being crashed... but he wasn't exactly put out, either. He had had one of the most intense battles of his life when he had fought Bass with Ahri and Duke Satan, so if this promised the same sort of experience, Kiryu was all for it.
He regarded the newcomers, eyeing them up and down and taking their measure as best he could. He raised an eyebrow at Cayle's appearance.
"Uh, hey, man. You need a shirt? I could conjure you up one real quick like, it gets kind of cold here by the ocean."
Despite his levity, Kiryu could sense a strength and resolve from the man. He was no pushover, that was for certain. Kiryu shrugged, answering his question.
"Well, I myself am nice and suppressed, for the moment. Melody, here, was just sending up the signal that she was ready for our friendly bout. If you're game, I'd say hell yeah, join on in. I've actually never sparred with a Saiyan before," Kiryu said with a reckless grin, "And I've always hoped to. Your people have a sterling reputation as warriors and I have to say, I'd love to test myself against you."
As Atalan introduced himself, Kiryu's right eyebrow quirked up.
"Good grief! Well well well, to think that I could be here on this glorious night in the presence of royalty! Lucky me... though, seriously, what is it with all of you guys lately? Between the two of you and Lady Nevermore, I'm practically hip deep in blue bloods! Though, to be fair, I suppose I automatically like the two of you better since you're not trying to murder me with infernal minions summoned from the nether realm. Though," and Kiryu paused, then, eyeing the newcomers solemnly, "I will reiterate that this is a friendly bout. Either of you two take liberties... well. You probably won't like what I end up doing to you."
It was like a light switch was flipping on and off. Kiryu's entire demeanor had become grimmer, more stoic, promising a reckoning if Atalan or Cayle stepped beyond the bounds of a sparring contest. And just as quickly as it was there, his demeanor changed once again, his friendly, jocular nature coming to the forefront again.
"But, hey, yeah, if you guys are cool, let's do this! Like I was saying earlier, winner buys the sake bombs!"

Atalan's golden eyes started burning brightly in the evening light and his cheeks actually gained a little color in his outrage. He took a breath and addressed the so called duchess, "Well... I guess I must believe you are from the Pig Demon Duchies. You certainly have the manners of a pig. As for meteor showers... it isn't something you would probably understand." He lifted his hand and called forth a small flame to hover above his palm as he continued, "The concerns of wizards may seem odd... but they bring us power. Some say a wizards are subtle and quick to anger... they are half right." He looked to the others and sensed their power. He didn't think he could stand against them... but he could learn a lot by engaging in this battle. Fighting as many different types of warrior as possible gave him chances to develop strategies and cultivate power to beat them; basically it would be his road to the throne of the demon lands one day.
Atalan slid his backpack off of his back and held it by it's strap in his left hand as he turned to study the shirtless man and the other wizard. "I don;t know either of you two, but if we're going to fight... let's do it. Just don't let the pig duchess win if you can help it. I'd had to lose only to have her carry the day." he said pointed to Melody. He looked towards the other wizard, Kiryu, and quirked his eyebrow up, "A friendly bout... It hasn't started off very friendly, but very well. It will give me a chance to work off some tension. I pledge to hold myself to non lethal if not non painful things." He began opening himself a bit to the arcane flows of the beach... there was some strong ambient magic here. Perfect for his purposes.

Cayle stood there, watching the two of them and listening to them but turning to walk back to Nalta, who had walked up closer despite his warning against doing such. It would be clear to them all even in the moonlight that the Saiyan was covered in scars, burns, and tiny dents where bits of his skin was missing on his chest, back, and shoulders- the results of either a lot of battles or a lot of injuries. He wasn't interested in this gathering initially, only throwing his hand up at the mention of Luther and his alias, and shaking his head. “He has, yes. Been in a fight with you, as well as assaulted my girl friend, Tiger Lily, burning her severely in the process. And attacked someone else.” he turned to look at the new figure who had approached, this other stranger in a strange land. “Him, actually. Luther attacked him as well...” Did they know each other? The way they were talking made clear to Cayle that that was not the case, but they could have potentially known each other. Either way, it didn't lend any credence to Luther's claims that -he- had been attacked, as opposed to being the one to throw the first blow. “But it's resolved now. I tracked him down to his apartment and threw his automobile threw it's walls before fighting him and telling him he had two days to get out of the city.”
Cayle took another step towards his companion and his clothes, but stopped dead in his tracks when he heard the human in funny robes mention a familiar name. That stopped him in his tracks, that was too much of a coincidence. “Lilith, wears a funny hat, has Lavender or Mauve hair, calls everyone peasant? About this tall?” he pointed to Nalta, rather than waving his hand, because though she was a girl who was not yet even a preteen, it was a close enough approximation to her age. “I told her to leave the Southern Islands last time I saw her, as well. She had frozen an entire town, and then went so far to try to do the same to me. Was she here at the last time you saw her? Did you have to fight her to stop her from mischief, or was it a...” he threw up his fingers in the way he had seen humans do when they were quoting something. “friendly match?” because nothing about that girl was friendly in his opinion, and he had even seen a video of the fight between himself and Lilith on CapsuleTube, shown to him by Carlos Alfonso and one of the cooks, who had both demanded to know what secret message Cayle had given to her to pacify her from attacking the people of Pico y Gayo.
“As to being cold? I'm used to it, you could say. And there's nothing that is more fulfilling than the ocean breeze against your skin during the night.” given that he had spent his earliest childhood in a wasteland of scrub lands and high desert with an occasional forest, which had been the part of Planet Plant which he and his family had lived on in a village-cum-homestead. Infact, he had been surprised that an 'Ocean' even existed, when he had first landed on Earth, but felt it signified the new beginning and new freedom for himself and the other former test subjects of the Tuffle Science Executive. Nalta threw him a folded over cloth which he wore as both a scarf, a tartan plaid, and a cape depending on the situation, and he wrapped it around his neck, the protective cloth which hid what was inside the otherwise generic white-blue colored cloth he used as a scarf, bandanna, and personal blanket when out in the somewhat chilly nights of South City and the rest of the Southern Islands during this season.
“But I've no real interest in fighting any of you, you haven't wronged my people, and there is nothing to gain in fighting you.” indeed, there was something to lose, in fighting them. If he won, he was obligated to buy them some alcoholic drinks, and he had no intention of heading to a bar with an impressionable young girl in tow. It was unthinkable, even if he was not moving to present himself as the ruler of his fellow Saiyans who had endured at the hands of the Tuffle Science Executive. “But I suppose I shall anyways, so that young Nalta can observe and learn from it.” because like it or not, pretending that there were not strong enemies about was the same kind of foolishness and over prideful attitude that had caused he and many of his generation of Saiyans to have fallen into the hands of the 'weak' Tuffles and their Tuffle Science Executive, when the warriors thought the Tuffles not a challenge to even peasant children, the old, the frail, nursing mothers, or other people who were indisposed to fight. “However, if any of you lay a finger on her head, I will not be merciful.” [856] [800 EWC] [1600 TEWC]

Kiryu raised an eyebrow at Cayle. Apparently, the two had more in common than one would have thought at first glance. There were several points of connection. "Hey, I met Tiger Lilly! She's a good kid. A little naive, but a good kid, for sure. Talented. She could really be impressive once she gets a little experience. I'll, uh, defer to your judgment about chucking a car into a building. I guess he deserved it? And, yeah, you described Lilith perfectly. Yeah, no, she tried to murder me for an item she wanted. I, uh... aggressively persuaded her that that was not a good idea. By means of rendering her... not conscious. Heck, I made her think I was going to kill her. I thought maybe if she saw how much stronger I was, she might change her ways... sort of scare her straight, you know?
I don't think it worked out.
And, listen, you don't have to worry about me. I would never harm a hair on an innocent person's head. Hell, if anyone around here does, I'll have your back in curb stomping that sorry, stupid bastard. You have my word... and, I have to say, I'm excited you agreed to this little match.
I think that means that I don't really have to hold back."Kiryu cocked his head over at Atalan. The man was… odd, to say the least. But Kiryu could sense depths of power within him, the same power that he could call upon. ”Well then, Baron Atalan, allow me to formally introduce myself. I would not want to be rude. I am known as Kiryu Miyazawa. I am an adherent of the Path of Joy. I call on the same power as you do, and it is an honor to make your acquaintance. I'll be very interested to see how you concoct your art... I am told that what I do is, shall we say, unconventional. Perhaps you can give me some pointers... assuming you're still conscious, of course,” Kiryu said, playful grin on his face. He rolled his shoulders and popped his neck from side to side, then spoke again. "All right. That's been enough talk. It's time to get this show on the road!"At that, Kiryu performed what had become his routine preparation. He called into existence his Susanoo, the spell a mixture of ki and mana, infusing him with layers upon layers of protection and forming weapons and shields from raw energy. He summoned a new and improved potion from the pocket dimension it inhabited, quaffed it, then summoned his ring of power. For once, Kiryu did not bother keeping his power suppressed. He could feel, against these foes, that an attempt at equanimity might lead to his swift demise. He had seen how his group had handled Bass in their group conflict, and Kiryu was determined to learn from that. One on one, he would happily reduce his power level and enjoy a protracted contest. Here, he could get ganged up on, so he had to make sure he had all his facilities about him from the get go. Kiryu relaxed his mental control, allowing his full power to come to the fore, and he stood, clad in the shimmering silver armor, waiting to see what preparations his foes would make for their imminent battle.

Cayle listened to Kiryu's words, before rolling his shoulders and preparing to put himself into a proper fighting mindset, waving Nalta close enough over so she could easily see what was going on but not so close that the little girl would be in danger. Then the icy blue eyed Saiyan gave a nod, “I certainly had to think long and hard on it and if it was necessary, as well as if it would send the message I meant to send, but he severely hurt Tiger Lily, and made her scared of even telling me what happened. Beyond that, he also attacked numerous people according to the City's traffic Cameras, including those two.” he said, pointing the woman with the green hair who was apparently a duchess and the pointy eared demon known as 'Baron Atalan'. The Saiyan continued his stretches, breathing in and out and preparing for what was to come without so much as stopping for a second in his speech. He continued to speak, “And as far as Lilith goes, you have my interaction with her down to a... what is the Earthling phrase?” a strange choice of diction, as opposed to saying human, everyone knew that Saiyans were also from Earth, just some sort of strange Beastman and human hybrid. “Down to a Tee. She tried to kill me because I was there and told her to unfreeze the innocent people she froze, and when she did not listen, I had to fight her until she realized that it was hopeless and that she should unfreeze the people and leave as I told her to. But who knows, perhaps even someone like her could turn over a new leaf.” The fact she had called him racially charged terms like stupid monkey, and had also called him a peasant weren't mentioned. It was not as if there was not a video out there of Cayle and Lilith's fight, thanks to one of the few not frozen people of Pico y Gayo recording it and uploading it to CapsuleTube. Of Tiger Lily, he spoke nothing else, because his thoughts of her were entirely between him and her. It was with Kiryu's introduction to Atalan that Cayle remembered that he had not introduced himself to well, any of them. So he gave a small half bow and a grin. “I forgot to introduce myself, as well. I am Cayle Pota, son of Pota Potaset, who was himself son of Potaset Potaset, who was himself son of Potaset Onio. Potaset Onio, who was himself son of Onio Pota, who was himself the son of Pota the Proud. It is nice to meet you, Baron Atalan, Kiryu Miyazawa, and Duchess...?” he did not believe he had actually caught her name. With his introduction finished, he stopped his stretches and took a deep breath, pushing out spiritual energy past his pores and causing himself to be awash in a golden aura for a moment, which soon was followed up by a series of orange and green static electricity bolts jolting around him and his own power level increasing notably as he stood there. Post by Atalan on Dec 13, 2019 7:28:00 GMT -8
Atalan sketched a small bow towards the other two Fighters as they introduced themselves... etiquette was etiquette after all. "Well met, Kiryu of the Path of Joy and Cayle Pota, son of Pota Potaset, who was himself son of Potaset Potaset; who was himself son of Potaset Onio; Potaset Onio, who was himself son of Onio Pota, who was himself the son of Pota the Proud. I will not harm the child either... I will direct my forces towards you three only. My pledge on it." He had no real stake in harming a child... what would it gain him? Unless she was carrying something he could use... but that did not seem to be the case. Nor would this be the best time to explore that option even if it were true. Atalan raised his hand up and snapped his fingers... a puff of green smoke apparated into being as he called out, "Come forth, Beauregard!" The smoke condensed into itself to reveal a round bodied demon with green skin and spindly green limbs. He was attired in a white tuxedo with a hot pink bow tie and in his deep bass voice he spoke, "How might I serve, master?" Atalan held out his backpack and handed it to his man servant, "Take this and place it safely out of the way, Beauregard. Then come back and stand by..." he glanced over his servant's attire and nodded, "Very fitting attire." Atalan turned back towards the others, examining their various methods of powering up and readying themselves for battle. It was interesting to see so much power being thrown around. He began to channel his power to gather for a blast... but he didn't display his power yet; he would wait for the rules of engagement to allow it. It wouldn't do for this to become a 3 on 1 after all. { } Edge 1: Your PL must be 1.5x an opponent’s; you gain +2 bonus damage on all attacks, and +2 Damage Reduction. “I have not met this Tiger Lily but the fact that she did not tell you about that rude Android, by the name of Luther apparently, was most likely because she wanted to solve her own problems—not fear. How can you expect her to grow up to be a strong independent woman if you interfere? Protecting her rather than allowing her the chance to redeem herself is only going to suppress her individual growth.” Melody arched a brow at Cayle, like most Saiyans they were prone to blind anger, and she needed to be careful being fully aware of their abilities to survive anything that gets thrown at them. “Lady Nevermore freezing people just means this hero business is a ruse, I saw the video on DynoTube. Innocent people have robbed her of empathy she no longer possess and I can relate to the unfairness of the world that has driven her to the edge. Given that I personally met this clever teenage witch at Velocity Industries and she used her magic to trick a board member into signing away their stocks means she can be influenced by zeni like the rest of the world. No need to use force to manipulate her into submission, but what do I know about her motivations, she still has an entire future to learn and develop. Both of you need to learn the inner workings of a woman’s heart rather than make assumptions, especially since none of these girls are present to rebuttal, so learn to watch and listen so you can cash in the profits boys.”“Duchess Melody. Charmed.” She answered Cayle briefly until Atalan interjected with a retort of her manners, “Pig? I figured the snort gave me away. There is no pride in being ruler of the demon lands you hail from, last time I checked it is not a place people typically ventured in being in such a horrid destitute state. Kiryu could not quite keep a grin from tugging at the corner of his mouth. Cayle Potaset, as the battle scarred Saiyan warrior had introduced himself, had power that was nearly the match of Kiryu’s. That only served to quicken the young magi’s pulse; though he was, at heart, a pacifist that sought out non violent solutions before anything else, he was also a warrior, born and raised. There was little that Kiryu enjoyed more than honest competition. Kiryu’s eyebrow quirked as both Melody and Cayle used similar techniques, one that would damage anyone that got too eager with their melee strikes. Not for the first time, Kiryu was glad that his own skills lent themselves more to soft arts and esoteric spiritual techniques. No matter what certain rivals of his said about being a “true” warrior, Kiryu was devastatingly effective… or at least, that was what he told himself. Kiryu’s eyes could not be seen through his Susanoo, but if they could be, his foes would see them glaze over for a moment as the young man utilized the power of his crystal ball to glimpse the future, gauging the most likely course of events and preparing his reactions accordingly. It only took a moment, and after that, Kiryu focused his energy, readying his body to respond to any attacks with fluid evasion and quick counters. Finally, he made his first real maneuvers of the fight, casting a spell to hinder Cayle with an effort of Kiryu’s considerable will. He also channeled his Susanoo, summoning an ethereal bow and arrow and firing it at the Saiyan. Kiryu followed that up with a ki blast, sent towards Melody, as Kiryu kept watch on Atalan. The warrior mage did not speak; unlike many other fighters, he felt little need for announcing or naming his attacks. If things came up there would be some banter, but Kiryu, at the moment, was come and focused.

Post by Cayle Pota on Dec 13, 2019 22:26:29 GMT -8
Cayle Pota felt which of his opponents was the strongest in sheer power level without much problem, but he did not exactly decide to strike Kiryu immediately just because of that. Melody would be his last target because she simply felt the least threatening and was not a 'lizard' or whatever these strange robe wearing fellows were, and the mere fact that they reminded him of Lilith was enough to make them potential targets. The fact that Kiryu was the stronger of the two only increased the probability of the Saiyan former farm boy targeting him, and that was before Kiryu send that greasy feeling ki, or a 'spell' in the direction of Cayle. Being both a former peasant of Planet Plant and being a person who had fought such magic using 'lizards' before, Cayle was not exactly keen on the idea of being targeted by such a thing or the gravity pulling feeling it added to his body. After it occurred, though, Cayle was ready to make his own move. Focusing on the teachings of Kamut and trying to visualize himself, the universe around him, and the spiritual energy flowing through his body- but more than that focusing on his dream of bringing Saiyan-kind to a position in the universe where they were heroes like in the stories of Kamut's almost imaginary planet, 'Sadala' and not viewed as barbaric ape like idiots and pulled at it. From that moment of centering himself, Cayle pushed past his limits, and even as the force of his spiritual energy reserves from the very cells of his body began to push out of his body, causing occasional scratches and minor damage to him as he utilized it, Cayle Pota, son of Pota Potaset was suddenly awash with a massive wave of blood red spiritual energy. The Kaioken technique, though Cayle did not bother to call this special technique he had learned from Kamut such a thing verbally and openly. Instead, he focused his attention for the moment on Kiryu, the one who had attacked him first and attacked Melody, and more than that the one who happened to be the biggest threat. Without hesitation, he launched himself forward at Kiryu and began to throw a volley of punches, kicks, elbows, and yes, headbutts in the direction of the magician, and he punctuated the volley with a pair of powerful punches thrown in the direction of Kiryu, punches which sparked with electrified spiritual energy as they strengthened Cayle's muscles and the sheer force cause a 'whoosh' in the air from the strikes. “For someone who wants to have a friendly spar, you certainly went all out with the darkest magicks you could apply, Kiryu Miyazawa.” the Saiyan said as he charged forward, adding. “But there's something I forgot to tell you all. I am not simply Cayle Pota. I am the man who will bring Saiyankind into its proper place a protectors of the planet. I am the man who will become the next Great King of Saiyans, and the man who will lead the movement to free the Saiyans who are currently languishing in the hands of the Tuffle Science Executive. I can't afford to not do my best in front of Nalta, or anyone else I care about.” Of Melody's lecture about not knowing women and their thoughts, Cayle said and thought nothing. He barely understood any humans, and definitely did not claim to be a master of knowledge when it came to them.
