Personal Strongholds
It doesn’t matter if it’s a shack or a castle, the place where a person lays their head when the day is done is their home. Their Stronghold. Here on Dragon Ball: Broken Destiny we know that many games provide buildings and homes for your characters, and we think it is wise to do the same- but not simply because we want you to be able to say “Oh Captain Grey has a badass mansion.”
We want you to be driven to create your own Kame House, your own Mount Paozu, your own Capsule Corp HQ. A center of activity for yourself AND for other players. We want you to describe what your character’s personal Stronghold looks like, and we want you to get other player’s using it and involved with it.
As such, Personal Strongholds do not just have a Zeni cost. They have a Zeni cost and an EP cost, based on the rank you wish to create your Stronghold to be. This rank determines both the maximum amount of players who can use a Stronghold together as a group, and also the amount of Add-ons which you may apply to your Stronghold’s build to increase what it does.
Creating a Stronghold
When creating a Stronghold, you must fill out a [Stronghold Creation Form] (link to form here). This form will include your Stronghold’s name, which characters “share” the Stronghold, where in the world the Stronghold is located, and what your stronghold looks like. Submit this in the 'Market Square' section in the 'Transactions' board, similar to how you'd submit to buy or sell any other items.
When creating a Stronghold, you must designate the players to be included in that Stronghold at the time of creation. Only those “Stronghold members” can contribute to its creation, but players may split up the zeni and EP requirements for creating or upgrading their Stronghold among their Stronghold members however they see fit. Strongholds do not need to have their construction or planning roleplayed; but if you do make a thread centred around constructing your stronghold, then you and every member of the stronghold present gain a +25% bonus to gains from the thread constructing it.
Stronghold Rank and Cost Table
Rank 1 - 1 Person, 1 Add-on Slot. 50,000 Zeni, 1,000 EP required to unlock.
Rank 2 - 2 People, 2 Add-on Slots. 25,000 Zeni, 1,500 EP required to unlock.
Rank 3 - 4 People, 4 Add-on Slots. 50,000 Zeni, 2,000 EP required to unlock.
Rank 4 - 6 People, 6 Add-on Slots. 75,000 Zeni, 2,500 EP required to unlock.
Rank 5 - 8 People, 8 Add-on Slots. 100,000 Zeni, 3,000 EP required to unlock.
Rank 6 - 10 People, 10 Add-on Slots. 150,000 Zeni, 3,500 EP required to unlock.
Rank 7 - 12 People, 12 Add-on Slots. 200,000 Zeni, 4,000 EP required to unlock.
Upgrading Your Stronghold
Not all Strongholds begin as Rank 6. You and your friends may just have a small shack on an island, and slowly build it up over time. Or you may have just enough Zeni to build your Stronghold, but not enough to place all of your Add-ons just yet. That’s okay!
Strongholds may be upgraded from one Rank to the next by purchasing the next rank in Zeni and EP from one rank to the next. So if you have a Rank 1 Stronghold and would like to make it a Rank 2, you need to spend 25,000 additional Zeni and 1,500 additional EP, divided among the members of your stronghold however you wish. You may also begin your Stronghold at whatever rank you wish so long as you pay the money and EP for the appropriate rank. The cost of these ranks is cumulative, however, so if you skip earlier ranks you will still have to pay their costs as part of your final total.
Add-ons may be added to a Stronghold by paying their associated cost in Zeni, with no additional EP requirements unless the Add-on specifies otherwise.
Remember! Anytime you upgrade your Stronghold, you should describe how that upgrade or Add-on has changed the look of your Stronghold! You may want to have a thread in the 'Market Square' just for your Stronghold so you can describe it like this ahead of time, and so your fellow Stronghold members can all contribute within that one thread rather than each mentioning in their own transaction threads.
Add-Ons
Add-ons are useful facilities your stronghold has. This may range from a farm, to a workshop, to a gravity training chambers, or even your own recuperation tanks! Add-ons are how you add new abilities to your Stronghold.
Under each rank of Stronghold, you'll notice they have a number of Add-on slots. Each Add-on takes up one of these slots. However, each rank of an Add-on also takes up an additional slot, so a rank 2 'Training Room' will take up two slots, not one.
