Hebihime Manda had been traveling the Southern Islands for quite some time now, tirelessly searching for relics of great magical power to further augment her own demonic might. Her search thus far had been largely fruitless, with all of her leads coming up empty handed or ending in humiliating failure. It was wearing her patience thin, and she walked with a sullen expression as she traveled down the jungle dirt road back towards the city. At present the woman was on Amenbo Island, close to the region's capital, the eponymously named South City. There she hoped to enjoy a hot meal and warm both, relaxing and recuperating from the stress of so many of her recent endeavors going so poorly.
A tall rain forest canopy surrounded either side of the well worn road. Densely packed trees flanked either side, with wide spanning branches covered in thick vines. The ground was littered in dense vegetation, overturned logs from fallen trees, and vibrant wildflowers. High in the treetops monkeys and parrots screeched and cawed, the former looking down at the serpentine traveler with concern and hesitation. Her hood and tail reminded them of the jungle cobras and pythons that considered them prey. The entire region smelled stronger of fresh fruit, wildflowers, and strong earthy scents from the damn ground. Flies and mosquitoes buzzed through the air, and Hebihime absentmindedly swatted them away with a flick of her tail.
Masked in her disguised form in her travels, Hebihime appeared as she often did. Hiding her true appearance with the facade of a curvaceous young woman with a long serpent's tail, she was clad in her rather iconic attire consisting of a matching brown skirt and shoes with dark leggings and a combination suit jacket-zip up sweatshirt over her top. Long blonde hair streamed behind her in the breeze, with the wide brimmed hat she wore that resembled a cobra's hook swaying slightly in the wind. The woman walked with a somber step, deigning to go any faster than was necessary. Internally she was lamenting her recent failures, brooding over how best to amend the situation. She had faced down several powerful warriors lately, and it was becoming clear that her own lax training was at fault. Deity or not, she needed to step on top of her game or else these mortals would greatly surpass her.
A sigh escaped the woman's lips, as she shook her head in disgust. "Fate never makes it easy..." She muttered to herself under her breath as her violet gaze looked up to the patches of sunlight streaming between gaps in the jungle canopy overhead. Fortunately the journey back from towards civilization had been a largely pleasant one so far. The only other traffic on the winding stretch of road back towards the city were occasional farmers with ox drawn carts, or rough and tumble looking cargo trucks heading off deeper into the dense jungle to bring supplies to remote villages. The last time she'd been traveling this way, Hebihime had been accosted by a martial artist looking for a challenge. She was beginning to consider she may need to look into a more permanent means of transportation when traveling about. She couldn't fly, and she owned no car or plane or ship. Her hand rubbed at her delicate chin, "Perhaps a Capsule Corp jet..." She mused aloud to herself, she had heard they were rather fashionable and sporty aircraft...
