Her dodging was supposed to open up a real opening for her next attack, but Caffey had botched it once again. It occurred to her that overuse of basic Cobra sequences, as she’d done so far in her journeys in the wider world, had left her easily predictable, anyone who had fought her once could tell where her attacks would come from, even when she did unusual attacks, or deceptive attacks like the ones she’d done before; It was just too obvious what her next move would be. So, as if to reinforce this, the man she was fighting easily deflected her attack. She’d been slow, and she’d been predictable, she cursed herself, she had deserved this. In the midst of her admonishing herself, she only barely managed to brace herself from the incoming attack before it hit, and she found herself on the ground with a grunt. It hadn’t hurt as much as it would have if she hadn’t caught it last minute, but it still hurt.
Wincing, the air knocked out of her, she pushed herself to her feet and once again took up her fighting stance. Without a word, she charged towards her opponent once again, spinning into a harsh kick towards his side, and following it with a series of quick punches. She was likely to lose this fight at this point, she knew, but she refused to give it up.
