Cade freezes for a moment too long as he is stunned by the immensity of the creature facing him... a moment too long it turns out as the clawed arm smacks into the young man and sent him rolling across the hard pan of the desert to land in a bloodied heap. Thing hits like a mac truck... His movements were a bit unsteady as he pushed himself up, and shakily stood. He had slashed running across his arms and face, though his body had been spared thanks to the armor. He reached to his side and pulled a flash grenade from his belt and armed it as he started forward. As soon as the giant had resolved itself back into one figure in his sight, he threw the grenade at it's face and shambled forward, shooting a few blasts of weak ki towards its face to grab its attention. He spit blood from his mouth and started circling around away from AI and Shell, calling out, "Go on now, hit him while I got him distracted! Look over here princess!" He threw a slightly more powerful ki explosion for the last words, to try to catch the damned things attention...BATTLE TRACKER{Spoiler} Turns Suppressed: 0

The collision of Ahri's fist and the Saibaman's ankles sparked sudden pain in her hand due to the toughness and jaggedness of the bug like skin. She still continued to relentlessly attack the Saibaman regardless, until she realized that she wasn't dealing much damage to the beast. She dashed backwards, and warily watched the movements of the gigantic creature. An ear piercing roar erupted once again from the creature's mouth before it attempted to attack the entire group of warriors it fought. The large claws of the titan swept across the sand of the desert twice, and the first attack was far too accurate for the young woman to avoid. Sharp claws came into contact with toughened flesh, as Ahri hunkered down into a defensive position. The claw dug through her arm and tossed her backwards, resulting in Ahri being forced to roll along the floor of the desert. She shot upwards as quickly as possible, and held the arm in her free hand. "Jeez....."The second claw sliced through the air, but this time, the woman was nimble enough to avoid being hurt. She was still inspecting her arm when Cade decided that it was time to counter attack. He called out to her and the Namek, as he tried to direct the Saibaman's attention towards himself. Ahri lit her aura once more, calling on a large portion of her power. She felt a bit unsure about what was to come next, but whatever happens, happens. Fueled with pure energy, she began to run towards the beast, before attempting to jump as high as she could possibly jump towards the beast. She fired off a burst of ki at the ground in order to propel herself further, and drew her palm back while she soared through the air. She only managed to reach the giant's stomach, but even so, it was a lot higher than what she had hoped for. Once she was a mere arm's length away from what she assumed to be the stomach of the large foe, she thrust her palm forwards, hopefully dishing out some of the massive damage they needed to emerge victorious.

The giant Saibaman shrieks in agony, it's vision and hearing impaired by the flashbang. Caffey and Shell took some big hits, but managed to stay in the fight. Caffey guards against the attack, restores some of her ki, and then, rather than attack, Caffey transfers some of her ki to Shell. Both attacks seem as though they are imminent and going to cause heavy damage, but Shell utilizes a strange technique, disappearing completely and reappearing behind the beast, avoiding it's attacks. He then restores his ki further before opening up with his signature technique. The Saibaman, for it's part, attacks only weakly, but defends itself as best it can before restoring it's ki, waiting for it's senses to return to normal and resuming the battle. Quite notably, however, Ahri's attack manages to hit, and thoroughly damage the Saibaman. Shell's attack also hits home and between the two large chunks are taken out of the beast's flesh, causing large amounts of blood and viscera to fall to the earth. It's wail reaches a cacophonous level, shattering whatever glass windows remain in the ruined village. You feel the dark energy that animates it ebbing. Victory may be near at hand...

Cade let out a roar of satisfaction as his team mates started really tearing into his giant beast. A feeling from a more primal time when people hunted together and huddled together around fires from the dark... a joyous savage feeling. With his face set into a wild smile, he charged in and mimed that he was throwing another grenade and just threw a minor concussive ki blast to draw the giant Saibaman's attention... he was probably going to be wary of people throwing things now. He thought about trying to throw something else at it... but he couldn't hold back with this furious feeling pounding through his veins. Calling up his ki to reinforce his strength, he started to glow pale blue as his aura flickered into sight. He took a few steps back and charged at the giant, getting a good head of speed up and letting out a battle cry as he leaped into a flying kick right at the thing's knee, hoping to stagger it and perhaps even take it down somehow. He felt like he was a force to be reckoned with in that moment, whether he was or not. It felt good to cut loose to protect the people of this land, and this was a moment that would help cement the path of his future... BATTLE TRACKER{Battle Actions}Turns Suppressed: 0

Even Ahri herself was surprised at the sheer amount of damage she managed to dish out to the gargantuan foe. An incredibly large chunk of its flesh had been knocked off the ill fated thing, and following that was a quite gruesome sight. The sheer amount of blood that was spread across the battlefield was... notable, to say the least. The alarmingly loud cry of the creature was also a sign of the progress they were making. Although now Ahri's skin and outfit was stained with abnormal blood, and her eardrums were literally ringing. She made a motion as if to cover her ears, but halfway through said motion a large, clawed and monstrous hand charged towards her. She gathered as much ki into her legs as she possibly could in the short span of time she had, and jumped high into the air to avoid the titan's attack. Although, a second arm flew threw the air, and knocked her back down towards the earth. She hit the sand not too roughly, and slowly picked herself up as she watched the work her allies put in. A wave of emotion crashed through Ahri's simple mind. She felt bewildered, tired and excited at the same time. It was a weird feeling to be fighting like this for the sake of the people residing in the land, considering that it wasn't something she'd ever done before. It felt nice to fight for the sake of good and getting stronger by doing so. She looked back towards the large creature, and ignited her colorless aura. She dashed forward, just seconds behind Cade, and began attacking the legs of the creature with renowned recklessness. Her fists glowed a washed white as she unleashed a barrage of attacks, attempting to wear the Saibaman down as much as she could.

Our heroes, sensing weakness, pull out all the stops. The giant, mutant Saibaman tries to pull it's guard in, but, ultimately, it is for naught. Caffey and Cade's relentless strikes and support, Shell's ability to sap an opponent's power, and Ahri's overwhelming physical strength finally pay off. Ahri and Shell's final attacks hit at the same time, Shell's energy attack gouging out a chunk of the monster's armored carapace, allowing Ahri to pierce through it entirely. Ahri's final, desperate strike actually sends her bodily through the giant Saibaman, leaving a hole the size of, well, her in the creatures torso.
The Saibaman pauses for a moment, stock still. And then...
Forever after, none of you would be able to describe precisely what you saw. The creature just... disintegrated. It did not cry out, or bleed great fonts of viscera, or sway and fall. It simply started to crumble into nothingness, a light dust that was once a five story tall mutant beast being caught by the wind and scattered before it, too, finally faded away into nothingness.
Far away, a pair of fangs protruded over emerald lips. A casual glance may have thought that those fangs were bared in a feral snarl, but the face that they belonged to was alight with dark, malicious mirth.
So, the entity thought to itself, These filthy, dirt dwelling mongrels have managed to claw their way back. Some of them have some semblance of power, or so they think.
The grin grew even wider, and if anyone could see the dark eyes on the entities face, they would have shrunk back, recoiling in horror from the mad, unrestrained malevolence that dwelt naked in that fell gaze.
The time has come for my children to let the world know terror once more... before I claim it as my own.
There are no bodies left for our heroes to dispose of. The town of Toshi Ranbo has still been mostly razed to the ground, if not from the initial ravening of the rapacious horde, then by the epic, landscape destroying battle that just took place. But you set off once more for Bansho's Rest, a spring in your step despite the weariness from the battle. You make it back, somehow, in a couple of hours, the landscape seeming to melt away. When you make it to the entrance of the village, Takenoko is there, arms crossed, a wide grin on his face.
"I could feel that fight all the way over here! You must have done rather well; I cannot sense that evil presence anymore. You must tell me what happened... but first, you must rest! There is a feast being prepared in your honor, and there are warm baths ready for you to refresh yourself. Go, take your ease, and we shall talk at the feast!"
Indeed, as Takenoko said, the villagers are setting up a portion of the village for celebration. Cade, to you, it is rather familiar; these are humble folk and their honoring of you seems to be taking the same tenor as your adventure with Kiryu and Bass to rescue the farmer's ostriches.
There are indeed baths that you may partake in, and they are warm and pleasant, with every amenity a rustic town could provide their new heroes.
Afterwards, you are seated in places of honor, next to Takenoko, who is eager to hear your tale of the battle at Toshi Ranbo.

Sore... wounded... tired... jubilant and triumphant. Cade was all of these things. He was at the center table with the other heroes of the day, Shell, Caffey, and Ahri. All of his companions seemed to be mostly the quiet and sober types... so it fell to him to tell the tale of their great victory. He was standing on the long bench, one foot up on the table, one hand holding a beer and the other hand being used to gesture and emphasize his words.
"So, there we was, standing on top of the hill looking down at the saibamen. They was obviously mutated by some kinda dark magic hullaballoo of some sort. We charged in, ready to do battle, and Caffey the Cobra was first one there. I tell ya, I haven't seen someone that fast ever. I was next, not too far behind 'er, I hopped into the mix, throwin' a grenade in and jumping in after it, throwing kicks and punches for all I was worth! Ahri can in after that, throwing fists and elbows that hit like wreckin' balls. Shell came in at almost at the same time, whirring that sword of his around like a drunk man scything wheat. And scythe them dark ones down, he did! I admit I didn't to as much as damage as these folks, but I held my ground and helped out as I could. The battle was long and bloody work, but finally we had defeated them all and stood over the goo that had once been our foes. After a hard fought battle, we stood victorious!" The crowd broke out into wild applause and cheers. People raised their glasses and clanked them everywhere as they drank to his words.
Cade raised his beer and then took a deep pull of it, enjoying the light refreshing pilsner. He held up his hand to quiet the crowd and continued, "Much like you, we thought the battle was over then. But just like some kinda horror flick, the tarry black goo left over from them mutants flowed up and together, rising up off the ground like some sort of sentient black loogie. It all formed up into A GIANT SAIBAMAN! Now I know it sounds like I'm just pulling your leg, but it happened just like that! Just ask Shell or Ahri, they ain;t given to flights of fancy!"
Cade paused to kill the rest of his beer and took his time filling it back up, letting the dramatic tension rise for a moment. He took a small sip of his new beer and nodded in approval at its crisp freshness before he continued, "The giant stood above us, it was at least 15 feet tall if it was an inch. I knew I wasn't going to be able to punch through it like some of these folk, so I did the best thing I could... I went up and attacked it head on to distract it to give my companions a chance to strike at its flanks! Caffey and Ahri came in and landed some strikes, but that first pass it was Shell with his sword that really struck a telling blow!" He paused to raise a toast to each of his companions and took another drink.
A warm contented feeling began running through him as a combination of the beer and being with these people did their work. He gave himself a mental shake and continued the story, it wouldn;t do to leave them hanging after all, "The giant's blood ran freely but it wasn't done my fiends. With fearful power it laid into us, and let me tell you, it's claws were sharp and strength was mighty. I don't mind admitting that as it shredded into my side and knocked me back that it almost made me black out, the blow was so mighty." Cade paused here for another drink but mostly for dramatic effect and got a far away look in his eyes...
"It was then, looking back at where the Toshi Ranbo used to stand that I felt a fire start burning in my gut that had not been there before. It spread all over my body into my very bones, and I knew that we had to defeat this thing or anywhere, even here, could be next. Hi ran at the beast and blinded it while the others once again went to work as well; Caffey with her agility, Ahri wiith her strength and endurance, and Shell with his mighty blade. The creature, blinded, could only flail about in response; so once more we pressed the attack. I launched a flying kick into it's knee and the others rained blows and mighty strikes upon our giant foe... and once again it collapsed into the goo that had formed it. We stood, victorious, bloody, and gooey, and returned here to report to master Takenoko. You know the rest, Thanks for the beer!" He finished with a laugh and a toast which was heartily answered.
Cade enjoyed the festivities greatly and probably ate and drank a little too much. Before he was too far gone, He sat near Ahri where she was eating at the end of one of the trestle tables. For some reason, he felt more comfortable asking her than the others, "So, I was wondering... would yo be interested in meeting back here in a few months for a spar? I'll like to have a goal, or a mark if you will to meet. It might help my training to have someone as strong as you as the mark to meet..."
He also sought out Master Takenoko with a concern he had... "Master Takenoko... I don;t want to dampen the mood... but I don't know as we really solved the problem as much as took care of a symptom. Let us know if anything else pops up, we fought the beasts but not whatever made it after all." Having said his piece to everyone, he tried to enjoy the night. Victory would not always be his, he knew, and it was important to enjoy it while you had it.

Even after a long and rejuvenating hot bath and a bit of rest, Ahri still felt tired and drained. It truly had been a tough job, but she and the three other fighters she had allied with had persevered and endured until the very end, and their reward was great, in her book at least. She sat quietly at the table with the others, beer in right hand and her head in left hand. With little attention, the young woman listened to Cade's rambling and storytelling, only having her interest piqued everytime the crowd broke out in spontaneous cheering due to Cade's emphasis. He seemed hearty and joyful despite the terribly long struggle they had all gone through, but maybe that was just a side effect from all the drinking.
She was a little irked that Cade spoke so boldly of their deed, but what can you do, really? They had just defeated a horde of mutated and dangerous Saibamen, and to top it all off, slayed the final one, which happened to be many feet tall. It did sound unbelievable, and even Cade in his state said so himself. It felt a bit surreal back there, finishing off the giant thing. It was a scene worthy of being written in a storybook, for all the people of the world to read. A tale of four heroes, she thought, discreetly smiling to herself.
Eventually, she began to devour her meal quite savagely, until she noticed the same man approaching her, a clear question in his eyes. He offered her a training session, or at least, requested one. One that would take place a few months later, allowing both of them valuable time to prepare, get stronger, and meet each other once again. She smiled sweetly after hearing his question, with a wild sense of pride welling up within herself. It was always a nice feeling to be looked up to, especially at her young age. She quickly agreed wholeheartedly to his suggestion. It's been a bit of time since she's participated in a sparring match, and now Cade was making an offer that she would have to be crazy to refuse. Once he wandered off to go be buzzed somewhere else, she resumed eating her meal, excited with the mere thoughts of what could be next for her. Well, it didn't matter what happens. She'd still continue to get stronger and stronger, just to prove herself.

The crowd seems to hang on Cade's every word. The man is possessed of some sort of innate, rustic charm, and the good, simple folk are enthralled. Someone yells to make him the mayor, which draws a good natured laugh from the assembled villagers... even from the current mayor, who loudly proclaims that if it means that he doesn't have to deal with knuckleheads like the one that jawed off in the first place, Cade was welcome to that. Friendly grins and ribbing broke out; clearly, this was a tight knit community, and one that was sorely glad to have drawn the attention of so able a group of warriors.
As you all go throughout the night, despite the good cheer and hot food and cool libations, at times, you cannot help but sense that you are being watched. The moment you focus on it, you feel the sensation fade away, and it happens only rarely... but still, it is there.
When you approach Takenoko, Cade, he actually pulls the four of you aside for a quick word.
"Your words show a wisdom and insight beyond your years, young Cade. I fear that you are correct... this is not the end of our troubles. It is a beginning, a beginning that I fear may usher in terrors undreamed of in centuries. However, such struggles may also reveal champions that no one would expect... champions that could well go on to become legends, if they remain true.
I would not trouble yourselves overmuch with such dark thoughts, though. Not at this juncture, at least. This was evil's first, tentative foray into the world at large for the first time in hundreds of years. We have shown that we are not so weak that it may run amok, and the forces that control the darkness will take time to gather their strength anew, to plan their next moves carefully. I, as well as my brethren and counterparts in other schools, will keep a much closer eye on certain lands. We will set a watch upon the areas we know to be dangerous, that no other villages can be taken unawares.
But let us speak no more of this, for a moment. We must talk of your reward!
I know that most of you did not request much of anything, but the Turtle School does not allow such valorous fighters to go unrewarded. We have collected many potent items over the years, and I have a cache of such items with me. You may all find something useful.
Beyond that, I have a special gift; an item that has been used in the Turtle Style training methods since it's inception. We use special, weighted equipment that resembles a turtle shell. Wearing it is a bit of a challenge, but it can increase your speed exponentially over time. Usually, the master tailor makes successive shells, increasing the weight and the student's growth from the shells over time. Sadly, as you are not my disciples, I will not have time to do such a thing for you, and you will swiftly outgrow the items... but, at least initially, they should provide a hefty boost to your power.
If anything else happens, you have proven yourselves to me. I will be sure to seek you out should assistance become necessary once more. For now, there has been enough of this maudlin talk. This is your evening! Go, enjoy yourselves. Have a bit too much to drink. Climb on top of a table and sing a song. Go, and revel in life, and cloak yourselves in the good you have done... and never forget why we do what we do."
Hundreds of miles away, a series of grotesque, wet, squelching sounds attests to the horrors taking place in the cavern below the flesh of the earth. A dark lord sits in his dark throne, sneering down at the massive creature that had just broke out of an equally large egg. It was still covered in embryonic fluids and bits of yellow-white shell. It was some sort of saurian monstrosity, standing nearly ten feet tall, with a face like a pterodactyl's and bloodshot eyes with amber pupils. It was bipedal, covered in slick scales, and it's arms had membranous wings that stretched from it's pinkie fingers to it's shoulders. They were limp, at the moment, and possessed sufficient length to be drooping across the floor of the cavern when not flexed and rigid.
It gazed up at it's master, it's creator, with a mixture of fear and awe and utter servitude.
It's master spoke.
"Go, my minion. Keep a watch on those fools as they depart. More shall join you soon. Do nothing for now, but when it is time, for their defiance, they will be the first.
You will bring me their heads when we retake this world in earnest."
