The gardener's face turned with slight surprise, as she Juniper's eyes flash crimson. Did this mean that Juniper wasn't human after all? Some sort of demon, perhaps? The thought hit the dimbulb grass-bulb with enough surprise to temporarily break her out of her own transformation, one she was unaware of from start to finish, as she saw the eyes, though they were mostly just filled with honest concern; worried that she might have pushed her new-foudn friend to something desperate to utilize. still, it wouldn't have been polite to question her doctor of mystical persuasion on something like that in the middle of her work.
It was distracting enough that Misaki was caught off-guard by Junipers next question. "Hm? Oh!it's fine." Misaki would respond, thinking about it. "If I was so weak as to allow so much to leave me, I believe that's what one would consider 'my own fault.', yes?" She'd ask, thinking about it. after all, if she hadn't been so foolish as to not anticipate the counter-attack, surely she would be in a better condition than this. "I'll just treat it as a reminder to be stronger next time."
The Greenette gave a smile that slightly seemed to be strained, as frustration set in amongst her state. not with who they'd fought, but with herself, for Misaki was not ready to be lacking in anything. It simply wasn't what Misaki Kazamiya did, and now she was asked to sit aside on the table and get her rest. Juniper was absolutely right and Misaki followed the instructions with a polite nod of her head, but the idea that something had caused her so much grief caused her face to be just a bit tighter as she focused on keeping her ordinary expression up.
Inwardly, she knew she would get over it, but as a terror that had never been matched before, it... stung, that it was done by someone so lowly. Perhaps... it would need to be a lesson to her. She quietly listened to Juniper's words, but as they seemed rather met for the Wolfish man in front of her, she chose not to interject. the story was sad, but she wasn't quite connected to this group enough to say much on the subject. still, it seemed rather... unfair for someone like Juni to be treated so. Or was that simply her own favoritism? Misaki supposed she didn't know.

The men outside were shouting, screaming obscenities. Some attempted to flee from the swarm of police that had showed up and began to round them up, but the ones that attempted to run did not get far. It was actually quite humorous; seeing the group of thugs, that not only a few moments ago were behaving big, bad, tough, and strong and unstoppable, now many of them were blubbering because they were being pinned against the floor, against the wall, their arms yanked behind their backs, and cold metal cuffs slapped onto their wrists. Gaston had his arms placed behind his back and cuffs slapped on him; he was still unconscious, but the cops made sure he was breathing and not grievously injured from face planting the ground. The big man took some effort, at least three full grown adult cops, to heft his large body up off the ground and then it took even more effort to get him into the back of the paddy wagon; well, basically the police van that had driven up to the scene. He was placed in a seated position in the back of the van, his ankles cuffed to the floor so he didn't try anything ill conceived while in police custody, such as attempting to escape, and he was soon joined in the back of the van by even more of his thuggish comrades. They were led to the van by the glaring police officers, staying quiet.
Fenrir had to admit that it was all music to his ears; the men outside had been pests, annoyances. Not one single one of them had proven to be worthy of his time; even Gaston had been quite the disappointment. Sure, he had shown, at first, to be somewhat of interest to the wolf but quickly his interested waned and he quickly had his attention taken away from Gaston and instead he turned it toward Toma. Still, Toma did not respond, he instead just somewhat stood there in silence even when Fenrir knocked the annoyed Gaston out.
The interior of the restaurant was, understandably, somewhat of a mess now; due to the fighting. The kitchen especially was a bit of a mess. His eyes traced over the fallen food, the pots and pans and utensils littering the floor. It was quite the spectacle and one that made his heart cry in a tiny hint of agony. This had been such a grand kitchen, with its glistening appliances and smooth clean metal work surfaces, now it was as if a tornado had gone through the room.
Whilst Juniper and the gardener spoke, Fenrir's attention was elsewhere. He wasn't part of their conversation so he didn't really partake, and it was rude of him to listen on so he instead focused on the room around them, wondering just what kind of restaurant that was. What food did they prepare and what kind of clientele did they cater to? The kitchen was well appointed with several ovens, multiple stoves, large deep sinks, and an array of cutlery arranged beautifully on magnetic strips along the wall. There was anything and everything one could need and it made him long for such a kitchen. His own personal kitchen was rather small, albeit it worked for him well enough whilst he lived in the compound. After all, he was not running a business out of his room.
Though, something did manage to bring him back down to reality, pulling him away from his culinary thoughts, and it was Juniper's final comment. She was hungry. She wanted something to eat. "Well, why try to find a restaurant when we're in one." He peered around the room, "It's a bit of a mess, but I'm sure that I could come up with something to eat easily in here. That is if the owner does not mind me commandeering his kitchen and his ingredients for a small amount of time." The tall wolf walked deeper into the kitchen, peering about the room and running his fingers along the smooth metal counter tops. "So, you think that would be acceptable? That I prepare a meal for you all in here?" Fenrir questioned all of them.

Jade had managed to blind the gang, yes, but there was a problem. Her ki was depleting every second. She knew that she wouldn't last against these thugs for long, the least she could possibly do is to hold them off. Yes, she wasn't using ki attacks, but these gang members seemed somewhat trained. Jade had to use her ki to dodge most of their attacks instead of her natural reflexes, which was very bothersome, in Jade's opinion. But it was rather expected. There wouldn't be some gang trotting around Oolong City that's totally inexperienced when it comes to martial arts. While Juniper managed to get inside of the restaurant, Jade was busy trying to hold them off from actually entering too. A few of them were trying to do so, while some wanted to take care of the feline because to them.. she was a mere nuisance. The right was getting really heated. At one point, she even found herself being grappled multiple times, but managed to break free using her tail as somewhat of a distraction.
She would wiggle it in their faces, which would cause some to sneeze and others trying to grab the tail, which would make them let her go eventually. A few more members were put down and it began to get tougher and tougher. They began to read her moves and eventually learnt how to counter her attacks. But, the good news is.. she didn't need to fight anymore. She could hear the sirens of cars heading in the direction of the gang and herself. She knew that sound. She sighed in relief and dashed over towards the shop that Juniper, well.. Hachiko, went to. Jade could sense two familiar ki signatures inside the building. One being Fen and the other being the green haired lady named Misaki. She seemed to be somewhat tired but not as tired as Jade. At least, that's what she thought. Jade spent almost all of her energy trying to hold the gang members off, which was pretty much evident by her facial expression. She walked over to the group, as they conversed with each other.
As she got closer, she could feel the healing effects of Juniper's invisible aura. Her ki pool was somewhat replenished, but her wounds were fully healed. Seeing this, she actually began to reflect on how she could heal people just like this. Having healing powers was definitely a gift and it was something Jade actually wanted. Maybe she could ask Tea Princess to teach or tutor her or something of that sort, but.. that was for another day, another time. The important thing now is to make sure that everyone's ok. The group wasn't complete. Koma-san and the others weren't here, which had her a bit worried. Although she had a feeling that they could take care of themselves. They were much more powerful than the feline, they must have everything under control. The pinkette would listen in on the conversation that he group was having and what surprised her was what Juniper said. When she mentioned that her brother was killed by some Saiyan thug, she felt sympathetic.
"I.. I'm sorry for your loss." The feline said. When the Tea Princess mentioned being hungry, Jade began to look at her stomach, as it grumbled, thankfully, not too loud. "I could definitely use some food too. I didn't have the time to get something to eat this morning, I got worried because I thought that something had happened to you, Juniper." She said, with a slight frown visible on her face. Well, at least now she'd finally have something to eat. That's if the owner of this specific restaurant allowed Fenrir to do so, which would mostly likely happen. He helped him after all. If it wasn't for him and others, the Devil's Cookbook Gang would probably still be here. Well, at least this whole thing was finally over. She would look around for a chair that she could sit in and surprisingly, the table that Juniper and Misaki was currently sitting at had four chairs surrounded it. As for the others, they were severely damaged. "Phew, at least that's done. Now that the police are here, at least. Also, Juniper-san. Where are the others? Are they alright?" She asked the Tea Princess, as she tried to rest up.

“Perhaps we can train together in the future, Misaki-san. With some rest, you will be able to recover your ki,” Juniper assured the greenette, “Is there anything you would like to eat? It will also aid your ki recovery.”
There was a quiet reaction to the revelation that a lowly thug had killed her brother, and Jade offered her condolences to her. At this point she realized she might have overspoken on the matter but it was the truth. “Thank you for your kind support. It is common knowledge that the duchies need to be strong enough to control their territories. The death of an heir meant to rule Oolong City is a sign of weakness to the residents, Ma-te did not take his martial arts training seriously, and allowed himself to be vulnerable. It is the Tea clan’s fault for not being careful of the repercussions of living a lax lifestyle, which my mother must have had to the foresight of, and trained me in the mystic arts.”
Fenrir suggested they use the restaurant they were in to cook something for the group, this location was a front, for the underground tunnels connecting to the other hideouts that were dangerously close to Oolong and Yajirobe’s castles. The police would investigate the criminals further of their intentions against the Tea Clan and threatening local business owners. When Juniper was in the kitchen, everything seemed quite ordinary, and it was the tunnel underground that was evidence of their crimes that was connected to a hide out at the other end, along with the title deed of the restaurant building was sufficient to link the group of their activities under false pretenses.
“Fenrir-san, I believe you’re right, it is rather late in the evening. Now that this restaurant is in the custody of my clan, I see no harm in using the kitchen, although it does require some cleaning. Allow me to clean it up to make it more suitable to cook in. Hachi can help, too.”
At this point Jade asked about the samurai in their team, “Ah, they should be alright, I called Koma-san earlier when we were in a pinch to let him know that the Devil’s Cooks thugs were holed up here, and he should be heading over here soon. We only came across one of the brothers at this location, I hope the samurai found the others. Misaki-san can divulge the details of the culprits she encountered when he arrives to make sure we got them all.” With a bit of thought she reflected on what the feline pinkette said about not eating, “Jade-san, there were snacks at the Tea house we were in before we started this mission, a good martial artist should eat a properly balanced meal in order to apply themselves, have a seat in the dining area, and my dear friend Fenrir-san can make something for all of us. If you have any thoughts of what to eat let us know. I will be right back after I clean up.”
The tea princess rushed over to the kitchen, Hachi began to pick up all the utensils, pots, and spice canisters from the ground placing them back on open style metal shelves. The kitchen was brand new, nothing had been used, and it was a facade by the Devil’s Cook’s gang to make it believable as a new restaurant in order to keep their secret tunnels below ground. Cobalt blue eyes stared at the stove top burner, igniting the blue gas flame, and was elated to discover the bills of this facility had been paid.
“Heh, I was worried, the utilities were not paid for, ah, which reminds me.” Juniper walked over to the light switch control panel and turned on the dining hall lights. The lights in the hall were soft, a typical atmosphere to most of the restaurants in Oolong City, and she went back to clearing counters, stacking pots, and pans neatly while Hachi put a few away. With her massive paintbrush in hand, she mopped the floor, and washed the bristles clean in a utility sink tucked away in a closet.
“All clean.” Juniper looked over at Fenrir, “Perhaps some fresh noodles to start? I saw some eggs in the fridge, dry meats, and dry goods. Some kind of hot pot perhaps, it is unfortunate there is no fresh produce....Hachi will you fetch some?”
The octopus saluted, floating out the back door that was left open by police who were finishing up arresting the men and women who were in a gang. In a matter of minutes, Hachi returned with fresh ingredients he found growing in the scarce plots of land with gardens, which were an assortment of shiitake mushrooms, bamboo shoots, a bundle of herbs, garlic, ginger, passion fruit, and plums.
“Fenrir-san, this is what Hachi found, I hope it helps. I believe it will take a bit of imagination to make something from the minimal ingredients. Allow me to find out what the ladies would like.” Juniper left the kitchen, stretching for a minute, and walked over to where Misaki was sitting, “Would you like a rice porridge or a noodle based soup?” She turned to Jade, “How about you, Jade-san?”

She didn't realize that there were some snacks at the Teahouse because she was actually thinking about something else at the time. But, the good news is, that won't be a problem anymore. Luckily, Fenrir was here. She didn't know most of the people that aided in the Gang's defeat. Juniper was the only person she actually knew and considered to be a friend. Not that she hates anyone here. A sigh of relief escaped the feline's lips, when the Tea Princess began to explain that Koma-san and the others were ok. She didn't know him too well either, but she knew her name.. somehow. Juniper seemed to be close to him. Maybe that's how she knew her name? It wasn't important anyways.
Jade green eyes watched as Juniper cleaned the entire kitchen. Her mystical powers were something that fascinated the pinkette. She definitely was not going to spend the rest of her life trying to use let alone perfect her mystical powers, if she had any. The ability to heal was something that Jade was hoping to learn from Juniper one way or another. But, not right now. She needed more experience overall. She could hear Fenrir and Juniper talking about what they should prepare and when the Tea Princess mentioned Noodles, the pinkette began to think to herself. Noodles were one of the most basic things to make, but it was definitely something she enjoyed.
At this point, Juniper would ask both Misaki and Jade what they would like to have. After Misaki answered, Jade was then asked the same question, in which she answered. "I'd like the noodle based soup, please." She said, with a slight smile visible on her face. The feline was a bit exhausted from all of that fighting. The food would definitely be of good use to her.

The kitchen was a mess. But, it was to be expected. That wasn't a real restaurant, even if it had all of the trappings of one. The stoves were all functional, there was food in the pantry, in the fridges, in the freezers. There were utensils galore, so everything that a chef could need was there. After all, whilst this was a facade, they needed to make it look convincing, in case anyone were to come snooping in here, they would fall for the idea that this was a real restaurant. Still, the kitchen was a mess. Due to the fight that had taken place inside of the restaurant, and inside of the kitchen. So, as Hachi and Juniper got to work, as did Fenrir. He picked up a few things, righted chairs, swept up broken plates, tossed dirty or spilled utensils into the sink and began to wash them. He did as much as he could in order to help. He wanted to make himself as useful as possible.
Once the kitchen was clean, and Juniper turned toward him and told him as such, a small grin spread across his face, "Hm, looking better already," He nodded in agreement and looked around the kitchen. Now, all they needed was to get some food cooked up; which, apparently, according to the Tea Princess, there were just the right ingredients for a hot pot. But, he also saw some other ingredients that he could use for a nice stir fry as well. He would make both, why not? There were a number of people that had come to deal with the Devil's Cookbook Gang so why not feed everyone at once?
"I'll get to work," he nodded as he pulled his sleeves up, rolling them up as he appeared to get serious, grabbing a nearby apron and donning it as he went to the pantry and picked up ingredients, grabbing them by the arm full, then he would grab ingredients from the cooler and freezer. He grabbed all kinds of things and took them to a clean and clear workspace as he got to work on cooking a good home cooked hot pot. He knew the ingredients and how to make this particular dish, having eaten something when he spent a night at a hostel some time back. The owner had been quite a nice woman in her mid fifties and she had been quite kind to the tall wolf and even showed him how to prepare her famous sukiyaki. And now, he was going to make it much like how she had prepared it.
"First, we have to make the sukiyaki sauce," He turned on one of the stove burners, grabbed a sauce pan and began to measure out, mainly by eye, the ingredients for the sauce, "About half a cup of sake, they seem to have some good stuff in here," he poured that into the sauce pan, "And half a cup of mirin," he poured that in as well, and allowed the mixture to heat up to a soft boil. Once he felt that the alcohol had boiled away, he also added in, "now let's add one half cup soy sauce, and lastly three table spoons of sugar." He then mixed all that together as he let the sugar dissolve then poured the sauce into a nice receptacle. "This is going to go fairly quickly, so I may need a bit of help," He peered over at Juniper, "I'll work on cooking the noodles. I believe they have some syungiku, mind chopping a bunch into nice sized pieces? Jade, could you slice a few green onions into two inch pieces, and be careful with the knife."
He was giving out clear and concise instructions as he got to work, making the noodles. He moved from one side of the kitchen to the other, grabbing pots, filling them with water, heating them up, cooking the noodles, one act after another with skill, precision, fluidity, grace, able to walk and dance around the others working in the kitchen without any issue. It was as if the tall light haired wolf had many years of experience in a kitchen similar to this. "I believe we'll be able to get a nice hot pot made at this rate."
If they all worked together, they were able to create a rather good amount of the beef sukiyaki hot pot, as Juni had suggested, for them all to eat, as when it was all done, Fenrir served them all a nice sukiyaki on a nice sized nearby table as well as a simple dessert of chocolate mousse. He didn't have the time to create an accompanying dessert that was more complex, but the mousse was nice and smooth and chocolatey.
"Go ahead and enjoy," Fenrir nodded to them once the food was served at a table as he stood by, wondering if they would end up enjoying the food.

The children of Three Cave's Village loved playing Salmon's Leap. It required coordination, spiritual energy control, intellect and athleticism. A game to play to climb the village's mountainside overhangs for delicious fruits or bird eggs to make into snacks later. It was a simple game, where the activity's real challenge was knowing where you were going next and making the right movements with every leap to get towards the destination.
Koma had first played it at the age of six years old, and by the time he was seven no one could beat him at it. He had mastered at an early age making leaps and using small bursts of spiritual energy from his chakras to send forth invisible propulsion forward.
So it was that when he decided to head towards Juniper, he was practically flying over the city towards them when he began to use this game and martial technique to hop from roof tile to radio spire to chimney and used his spiritual energy to push him to the other side of the river channel in their direction towards the kitchen that Juniper and the others were meant to be at.
Soon he was outside, hand on his sword's guard and listening for the restaurant and its inhabitants, to see if there was still a battle going on what might be going on. When he heard the slow blare of the city's police force and the chatter of cops instructing members of the devil's cook gang to move one way or another, he realized it was done and as such decided to head towards the entrance of the restaurant. They didn't need his help but he and Riku had said they were coming after all.

Although Fenrir was doing this because he wanted to, Jade felt bad that she wasn't able to help. It felt as if she was using him instead of him, volunteering to do so. She didn't really pay much attention to that thought though. It didn't take much time for Jade to be fully rejuvenated and back on her feet. Juniper's mystical powers were surely something. If that wasn't her powers at perfection, Jade could only imagine what she was capable of. A soft smile crossed her features, as she became lost in her thoughts. But then, she looked at Misaki. She hasn't met this greenette before, but she seemed powerful. It piqued the interest of the feline. "Soo, uh.. you're Misaki, right? I'm Jade. Nice to meet you." She said, offering a hand shake. Handshakes.. were ok, right?
If she should answer or not, Jade's attention would then be drawn to Fenrir, who would ask for the feline's assistance in the kitchen. She would gladly leave her seat and walk towards the kitchen. This was her chance to help with preparation of the meal, although she wasn't too pleased with the fact that she had to use a knife. She wasn't good at using knives. She has seen people use it to slice different ingredients they need for a dish, but hasn't tried it. She picked up a few green onions from the batch of ingredients that Hachi had managed to find and she picked up the knife hesitantly. "Two inch slices.. Alright." She said to herself in a low tone of voice. She began to estimate two inches with each slice she managed to get without cutting her fingers on accident.
That was the good part about this. The bad part was that as she got to the third onion, eyes began to water and then felt inflamed. She squinted them a few times as she continued to slice the onions as quickly as possible. Once she was done, she indicated it to Fenrir, by tapping him on the shoulder. If he should turn around, he would see the feline crying, not because she was hurt, but because of the onions. But, that problem would be solved, once she got access to water. She would take a seat in the dining area once more, after drying her face and waited for the meal to be finished, which didn't take too long. The chocolate mousse looked heavenly. The aroma could also be described as such. "Hey Fenrir-san, this looks delicious. Thanks." A smile crossed her features as she addressed the man. She couldn't help but to dig in after.

Fenrir instructed Juniper to prepare something, she did not know anything about it, she was a royal princess after all and the only reason she knew how to clean in the first place was because of spiritual purifications. Hachi was the cooking expert, he followed the instructions while the wolf deity was not looking, and handed it to her to give it to the chef. After providing everything Fenrir required, she snuck out of the kitchen, being able to cook required a different type of confidence; one that she may never have time or effort to accomplish or need for that matter. The tea princess was the type to hire someone to cook, not do any of it herself, and would rather leave it to the professionals.
The hot pot was made with noodles inside, assorted vegetables, and a properly seasoned broth filled the dinning hall of the restaurant with a crisp aroma. The hot pot itself was a rainbow of colors, it looked rather tasty, and quite unexpectedly cooked in a short period of time. Hachi followed behind Fenrir with a tower of bowls placing one in front of everyone sitting at the table, his black leather tentacle unrolled to place a set of chopsticks next to each one, and then served himself a small portion in a teacup to taste.
“How is it Hachi?” Juniper took a seat at the table, staring at her companion with curious cobalt blue eyes then bowed her head slightly at the wolf deity, “Thank you for preparing something so delicious for us in such short notice and supply, Fenrir-san.”
Hachi blushed at how delicious it was to express his delight of the hot pot then turned to the main entrance to see Koma standing there. The evening took a rather strange course of events, two of the three locations had been secured, with members of the tea clan and the police taking over. It was a matter of finding out if Koma and Riku were successful with their task but everyone was worn for wear, taking the time to be healed, and rest with something to eat.
“Koma-san, did you find the remaining devil’s cooks? I apologize, I should have called, but I needed to tend to the wounded and help prepare something to eat so I hope you can understand.” Juniper stood up and motioned over to an empty chair, “Please take a seat, we can discuss the situation over a hot meal, do you require any healing?”
The tea princess sat down again, as Hachi prepared her bowl using the large ladle on the pot, and she was finally able to taste the suyaki for herself finding an assortment of delightful flavors.
“This is amazing! Mmm. Even better than the cooks at Oolong’s castle.” [464] [4,849]
