A natural spring geyser split the beach of the active volcanic island with a steady stream colliding with the ocean waters. The light from the sun was about to rise out from the cloudy night sky towards a new day. The ocean between Pilaf land and the island had been clear as the lava did not overflow from the peak of the volcano. A yacht was anchored nearby that had not been visible yesterday which meant it recently arrived. The emblem on the yacht belonged to South City university which Tiger Lily noticed right away as she watched a familiar indigo haired student drinking from a large coffee cup who waved at her.
“Uncle Toad Lily?! What a surprise to see you here.” She quickly landed on the metal railing at the stern of the boat perfectly balanced.
“Likewise, you’re up early for a change, weren’t you celebrating your birthday yesterday with your friends?” Toad Lily raised a brow, he was he was six years apart from his niece, his eyes were sunken with permanent dark circles that matched his hair.
“Ah yeah...we’re staying in Pilaf Land for a while. I even have a tree house built so I can come visit anytime I feel like it from the southern Islands to save on living expenses. I am actually out here to spar someone I met yesterday. What are you doing out here?”
“We’re almost done with our dissertation on demons and namekians. I will be licensed to practice on both races once we finish our field research here.”
“Uh...you mean the volcano?”
“Yeah, demons have a signature of ash and brimstone for the most part, so we’re studying the properties of the volacano. In fact, we’re the first students to make this discovery officially on record. Last week we concluded our research on Namekians and their regenerative abilities, more specifically which blood types work well in blood transfusions, and ironically only demons are a match. Demons are not known to be generous in donating to blood banks, however.”
“Ah…” Tiger Lily was slightly hesitant to understand everything her uncle was saying without coming up questions so she decided not add anything further, “Did you go anywhere special for your dissertation of Namekians?”
“Yes, we were on a jungle island, studying mosquitos that particularly sting namekians for our blood samples, these insects migrated from the north in the summer and end up on a specific island eleven leagues from here for the winter as they prefer warmer climates. Apart from the different namekian types we came across a bunker with a neon pink sign inside that spelled ‘Tenkaland’ it was a fully equipped gym of some kind, so we crashed in it overnight for a couple of days since it was unoccupied.”
“Tenkaland… hmm I wonder if Tenkami knows anything about it, she should be here soon, she did mention being from the southern islands and I can find out when she gets here!”
