The sky was beautiful and as clear as it was yesterday. It would've been the perfect weather to be riding his Flying Nimbus, but Will decided that it would be better to journey across the land by foot to get back home so that he can help get his body back into shape. Of course, he took breaks now and then after all cause he doesn't want to overexert himself. The key to breaking one's limits to gain new levels of strength is to pace oneself and let your body relax so it can develop the muscles and catch up with the strength one has gained. Besides, it's not like Will is in any rush to get back home anyway, at this point he is already 13 years late.
Will has now found himself in the Mushroom Forest, filled with gigantic mushrooms sprouting from the ground. They do look tempting and he wonders what they taste like. However, they could possibly be poisonous, and Will's smart enough not to try to test whether they are or not. Although Will is certainly hungry at the moment, unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any place for him to fish out any food. Not to mention he has to cross the desert to get to Orange Star City so he would need to stock up for the trip there.
Luckily, it seems that Will's sharp cat nose has caught the scent of various foodstuff wafting in the breeze. It may not be as good as a bloodhound, but he uses his nose to follow the scent to the source. Eventually, after about a ten-minute jog he ended up in a quaint little town. While walking into the town he notices a welcome sign named "Fungus Town". While walking in he notices a strange statue that looks to be a monkey boy with an abnormally long pole and a strange outfit standing victoriously on top of a giant monstrous...rabbit?
Definitely not something he would expect to see in a town themed around and standing in the middle of a giant mushroom forest. However, he shouldn't be dwelling on that now and should focus on stopping up. After buying up on a lot of water, a tent Capsule, and food rations he then notices a sushi stand. He does still have some Zeni left and he still hasn't eaten anything yet, so he might as well eat some while he is stopping here to rest. After shelling out a bit leaving only a small amount left in his pockets he enjoys his meal.
He looks to one of the people sitting next to him and he noticed a muscular human man with his arm in a sling and covered in bandages. While they say curiosity killed the cat, Will thought making a bit of idle chit-chat wouldn't hurt while he was here.
"Hey man, what happened to you?" he asks.
The man turned his head and then had to lower to see that the person who asked was a small cat...man? He couldn't stay mad at the cat for asking why, so he decides to divulge his woes to him.
"A few days ago some crazy boxer dude came in and said that he was searching for the strongest person there to come and fight him by threatening to beat up our mayor if we didn't give in to our demands. I and a bunch of other guys stepped up to beat him up and kick him out of town and he proceeded to beat each and every one of us with ease. We never stood a chance, thankfully the dude left and went to some other town. Good thing he didn't stay, otherwise we could've gotten another Monster Carrot." the man said.
"Monster Carrot? So that's what that statue was about. That monkey was some hero that beaten him from back then right?" Will asked.
"Yeah, that monkey came and left like the wind after he beat Monster Carrot and took him to parts unknown with his extending magical staff. Nobody knows where he took that horrible beast to parts unknown, some say he took them straight to King Yemma for judgment so he and his minions could be sent to Hell. Too bad we didn't get a hero like that when that boxer came, otherwise I wouldn't have my arm in a sling for the next few days. At least one did come when Monster Carrot was around so no one is being turned into carrots anymore." the man explained.
"Turned into carrots, yeah good thing something like that doesn't exist anymore. I imagine he was too powerful a threat to be left alive. Thanks for the story, if you want I can pay for your meal." Will said.
"Nah you don't need to do that I have plenty of money, with that old getup you're in you look like you need all the money you need." the man responded.
Will then chuckled and nodded his head as his garbs are definitely really old, it's a good thing he had them washed too before he got here. After done eating he walks off and goes back to his journey. He then thinks about that boxer the man warned him about: "Whoever that boxer was he didn't seem to be that much of a threat, after all, he didn't kill anyone. I do feel bad for the people of this town but there are other strong fighters out there, I don't need to make this personal and make it my business. I doubt there's any chance of me running into him soon anyway. Besides I don't even know if I am strong enough to fight him in the state I am in now."
Will then begins his trek through the desert, which has been uneventful so far. He was about to set up a tent as the sun was about to come down until he notices lights in the distance. It doesn't seem that far and is definitely not a mirage. It wouldn't hurt to stop at another town and stay at it's Inn instead of staying in a tent. However, he doesn't have much money at the moment so he doubts he has enough money to be able to spend the night and he bought that tent capsule for a reason.
He throws the Capsule to the ground which automatically sets up the tent complete with its own fireplace, Capsule Corp technology definitely is amazing and it's nice of them to include both in the capsule. Of course, the fireplace is unlit which makes sense cause if it was lit and within the same capsule as the tent, it would probably not go so well and be a capsule full of ash instead. After grabbing a couple of rocks he rubs them together with great force to great sparks onto the fireplace causing it to be lit. Will then warms up by the fire as the warmth lulls him to sleep. In which he then lays down on the ground.
Then morning comes, he wakes up and stretches as he then notices smoke in the distance. Coming from the desert town he saw earlier. That doesn't look good, he runs off towards the rising smoke to see what happened. Perhaps it's nothing or has already been dealt with, but if it's something happening now perhaps he could do something. Just let it be alright, let it be not something that he could have stopped but slept through instead.
