Always the monster. Never the victim. But that suits him just fine. He brings his foot down sharply atop the crawling man's ankle, relishing in the satisfying snap of bone that reaches his ears. The man's anguished cries fill the dojo, piercing through its paper thin walls and echoing out into the sloping hills of the sandy pastures beyond. Only the forlorn cry of seagulls that swoop overhead and the crash of distant waves against the rocky ocean shore greet him in return. A low droning sound can be heard the moment the man stops screaming, passing out in delirium from the pain. One might mistake it for the nightly chorus of insects, yet with the sun shining brightly overhead—indicating it has only just reached its zenith signifying midday—that can't be possible. It is instead the lulling moans of severely beaten men. Their practice uniforms are torn and bloodied, their faces and bodies mangled and broken. None are dead. The point is to keep them alive, for how else will fear of his name and reputation spread. Ori's upper lip curls in disgust as the man passes out from the pain. They don't make martial artists like they used to. Rik[ 203 / 203 ]

Riku ambled down the ocean side path towards the Dancing Dolphin dojo. He had met the master of the school, one Master Fench, a few days ago and had agreed to give a few lessons on the art of the blade. It was a beautiful day... the sun was warm but not too warm, the breeze was refreshing, the surf was crashing, the gulls were screaming... He paused for a moment and paid closer attention; those were not gulls. Those were cries of pain and anguish. Riku started running down the path, kicking up a rooster tail of sand as he sped towards the dojo.
As he arrived, he ran in and surveyed the scene...
Scanning... Likely perpetrator: Human Male Identity Unknown.
Riku took in the broken forms of the schools students and the arrogant sharp featured man before him. His heart went out to the people with twisted limbs... some of them might never be able to practice their arts again. Turning his attention back to their assailant, he started studying him. He had white hair, yet appeared to still be a youth, probably not out of his early twenties yet. He would likely still be in the full grasp of youthful confidence, bravado and eagerness. He called out feigning indifference to the fates of the students, "That is quite enough. I seriously doubt any of these students were enough to challenge someone of your... skills. Why don't we step outside and have ourselves a real fight?"

Pounding footsteps approach from behind. The old weathered floorboards—scarred and sagging from years of use, despite the polished sheen they presented indicating the great care to which the students and master kept the place clean—groaned in protest beneath the assault. Whoever or whatever it was, they were quite heavy. A man enters the room. He is dark-skinned with black hair and at his side rests a katana blade. Perhaps a sword master. He observes the scene with righteous fury, then challenges Ori to step outside and fight him. Ori continues to stare up at the ancient symbols: black emblazoned against silk white banners dangling from the rafters overhead. They depict the statutes by which this school has stood for decades, perhaps centuries. Hands dangle at his sides, stained crimson from the blood of the men he's battered. They clench tightly into fists. The banners state three virtues: honor, patience, and truth. They should have gone for strength instead. "I'm not going anywhere." He glances back over his shoulder, revealing flecks of blood spattered against his cheek. Amber eyes survey the nosy samurai. "I came here to seek an audience with their master. He is away. Instead, I was told I am not worthy of facing their master."He lets out a soft chuckle. "And so I corrected them. No, I will not step outside. I will not go anywhere, until the master returns... and pays for the error of his students. That's what a good master does, isn't it?" Roll for Initiative - G4PmLZRs1d100Rik[ 251 / 251 ] 1d100

Rik cocked his head to the side and considered the bloody handed man. He refused to leave the scene of his crime and his victims. Very well... Maybe it will do their hearts good to see someone stand before this man. He took a few more careful strides forward and helped Ichibara up from where he was slumped over. The young man was bloodied and swollen faced but it appeared he had at least not had all of his limbs snapped. He pointed to the students nearest to the center of the floor and told him, "Clear everyone from the dojo, now. No questions. Find your Master." He stepped within 3 paces of the white haired man and studied him. He looked arrogant and drunk on his own power...
Scanning.... Subject is Human. Power Level: Approximately 9000 Caution recommended...
He addressed the white haired man, "I am not sure what twisted school produced this philosophy you quote. A master doesn't pay for his student's errors though it is his place to correct them. Hopefully with more grace and restraint than you have shown here. I am called Riku Masumura. I will stand in the master's stead as I was coming to teach these students today. That can either be acceptable to you or not, but I will allow not more harm to come to these students." Riku rolled his shoulders a bit and loosened his muscles... this was probably not going to end well.

Rik moved into a stance that allowed him a clear attacking motion with his blade as he awaited the man to speak up. He decided to try to kill just a little more time to allow the students a chance to flee with at least some of the injured before the fight got under way. "What school did you train in? I would be curious to know which dojo espouses the master being responsible for their students actions. After all, doesn't that make your master responsible for your attack on this place?" Rik began taking video of the younger man with his HUD to study later. Know thy enemy and all that... but he would like to have a name to put on the file... "So what's your name? I thought I should find out before we shed each other's blood." He could tell that a few of the more capable students had removed some of the students from the dojo... it was almost time to strike and damn the consequences. His grip tightened on the hilt of his sword and he began trying to read his opponent's defenses. He thought he might have seen the stance from somewhere before... but it wasn't coming to him right now...{ } DEFENSE PHASE.

What a boy scout. He stood and watched as the samurai instructed one of the less injured students to gather those who were more able-bodied. Together they were to evacuate the dojo and get everyone to safety. He chuckled, rubbing a hand over his clean shaven face. This world was full of them—heroes. They thought themselves the saviors of humanity, didn't they? But what if the world were a lost cause? What if it were not worthy to be saved? It was filled with selfish, greedy people. People who only sought one thing. To see the world burn. The students were ushered out of the room one by one. Most of them needed to be carried. It was a strange sight against the relaxing backdrop where the Dancing Dolphin dojo was located, nestled against tall sand dunes near the coast of the ocean. It was a very cozy scene, and the perfect place to practice martial arts in peace. It made him sick. His eyes followed the last student out of the room before the doors to the side exit slid shut. Just the two of them now. Ori turned around and faced the samurai. He'd taken a defensive stance, hand resting upon the hilt of his blade and ready to draw it at any given moment. There was a look of grim determination in his eyes, as if he had resolved to die in the place of these students if he had to. He asked more questions: what was his name? What school did he hail from? And who was his master? Irritation bubbled up within him, a slow simmer slowly being brought to a boil. Who the hell did this guy think he was? "What right do you have to grill me?" His voice raised as he leveled an accusatory finger at Riku. "Blah, blah, blah. That's all I ever hear from you people. Not everyone has a reason for the things that they do. Some of us? Heh..." His shark-like grin stretched his thin lips. His gaze turned predatory, as if sizing up his prey. His aura bubbled up around him, a white flame that danced around his tall, lanky being. His power level rose in dangerous intervals. "We don't need a reason to see the world burn. We just like starting fires." Rik[ 387 / 638 ] ORIZURU SHENSUMMARY PHASE.

Riku shook his head as the man started his angry at the world drivel. Really, he supposed he didn't need the man's name. He labelled him as White Haired Coward in his database. After all, this man had decided to attack the students of the dojo in impatience when their master did not immediately appear. As if the student should have control of the master. He knew that the man was probably waiting on him to draw his sword, so he started to oblige him by drawing it forth just enough to bare the steel... and bringing his right foot up to kick out right into his face. He then drew his blade and whipped it around in a circular motion, going towards the other man's right knee. He stepped back and took a defensive stance with his blade raised, awaiting the angry young man's answering salvo. Whatever it was, Rik was sure it would be quick and brazen. Nothing about this man suggested subtlety or even tact. "To quote the song, Come on baby, light my fire. If you can." He called out to the man. He had recently been updating his musical knowledge and thought this song applied nicely. { } DEFENSE PHASE.

It seemed Riku Masumura was done mincing words. Ori's eyes slid to the blade at his side, steel glinting as it began to be drawn from its scabbard. Yet for all the self-righteous drivel, the samurai wasn't above using surprise tactics of his own. His foot sailed toward Ori's face in a split second. Ori weaved to one side, watching as the sandaled foot soared past the place where his head used to be. He let out a wild chuckle. It never failed the most self-righteous ones often showed their true colors right from the start. Men could spout weighty words all day and night, yet it was their actions that showed the world who they truly were. That one surprise tactic spoke volumes. Honorable, his ass. It wasn't until the sunlight caught and reflected off the edge of the blade that Ori noticed it sailing in an arc toward his leg. He couldn't shift his weight fast enough to move, yet he managed to lift it a few scant inches to avoid the blade severing any important tendons. Sharp pain lanced through his calf as the sword slice true. Dark blood stained the right leg of his pants, and while it stung something fierce, it wouldn't impede his mobility too terrible. His nostrils flared as he shot an angry glare at Riku. Just who the hell did this guy think he was? "Neat trick, Grandpa. Now—let me show you mine!" Ori braced himself, his energy rising as he swung his hands about in graceful arcs. If Riku paid close attention, he would notice that those arcs imitated the very slash of his own blade, only with a different variation to the technique. His white ki turned red as it solidified around his right fist. It became crimson flames that enveloped his entire fist—a deadly looking technique. "I stole this from a man I fought in a tournament. He was old, like you. Too set in his ways to understand its potential." Ori surged forward, leaping into the air as he came bearing down upon the samurai. His fist sailed forth, crimson flame streaking behind it like a comet and should it land true, the Flaming Pyre Fist would very much carry the same impact—enough to gouge a small crater. Though his kick was unsuccessful, Riku was able to land a telling blow on the man's leg that soaked his calf with blood as he was unable to shift out of the way. The youth seemed intent on disparaging the fact that Riku was older than him... was that really an insult? It just meant he had been living and fighting longer than him, which should be a badge of honor, in his mind. Still, people these days were different. The youth came at him, with wide sweeping attacks, the first was clumsy, but the second was fierce as if he had figured out what he did wrong the first time. It arced in towards him and he parried some of the force away before it slammed into his side, sending him a few steps back... into the path of the fiery globe that he threw at him that splashed against him, clinging to him with it's burning power. Riku growled and moved back in on his foe, realizing that the man had adapted his sword movement into his own art. He made as if he was going to slash the man with a straight slash to the abdomen and then stopped and spun to try to smash his elbow into his face. After that, the samurai faced back up to his foe and moved his blade around in a circular motion again... before whipping the blade towards his foes left shoulder. He needed to wear this man down before he really got going. He had a feeling if he let him get out of control he might be beyond his ability to stop. And he would not let that happen while students were still here... only a little longer until they were all free... { } DEFENSE PHASE.
