Appearance
Personality:
The Varmint Slayer can seem in human society rather charming and laid back fitting in enough to get by, but when he pulls out his blades he often switches revealing that the slayers of monsters and beasts is ironically becoming the very thing he wants to eliminate. He believes in the lie that what gives a person humanity is being a human and that beastmen, monsters and whatever else cannot have human qualities.
So if they are not human, but just animals then they deserve no justice or treatment as a human. They deserve only to be hunted or made to fear humans and the Varmit Slayer see's himself as a living weapon to carry out that.
Even though he seems to have a purpose he is in an endless cycle of destructive violence that is consuming him and not only is it not healing his own childhood trauma the guilt under the surface that he maybe wrong forces him to double down on his beliefs to preserve his any sense of sanity and his very hostile against those who would try to challenge his beliefs.
History:
Dusty Broom was born and raised in the Central Great Plains on his family's cattle ranch into his young teen years as a pretty average country boy. One of the interesting things about the Broom family is that they are decedents of Launch, but seem not to have the allergic bi polar reaction to allergies like she did hundreds of years ago it seems.
Like his Dusty Broom father he wanted to be a rancher and so started to follow in his footsteps up until a hunting incident changed everything. The Broom family went on a hunting trip hoping to have a great family outing in the Eastern Lands. However his father hunting a wild beast misidentified a beastman for a game he was hunting and fired. In the commotion that followed the killed beastman part of a Silver Bear Tribe attacked Nash's family as a fighting broke out. In the end only Nash was alive thought to be dead by the bear tribe from his wounds, but he lived.
Dusty was taken in by a nearby village and from there found a sword fighting school that was nearby having no intention of going home after what had happened to his parents he became a student.
This burning desire for revenge he hide from his teacher using his anger as motivation to quickly become the star student of the swordsmen school obsessing over his new found talent that at least for the time distracted him from the loss of his family.
Dusty's master figured he would not seek revenge, but eventually become his replacement as master of his swordsmen school and master of the Southern Sword Style, but that never happened. The moment Nash had mastered everything he could he started to become bored going through the routines and the bad memories of loss and hate came back to him with vengeance.
Dusty felt the only way to get ride of these feelings was to stain his sword with the blood of the Silver Bear Tribe's members, when he reached the tribe village his hate and anger was unleashed with the deadly force of his swordsmanship he massacred Beasts people all, men, women and children tell he stood alone coming out of the blood lust trance.
Dusty thought that this would balance his loss out by seeking revenge, for the first time in since the incident he felt relief as if the weight of his dead family was off his shoulders, but it was temporary.
He would not be satisfied with just slaying the Silver Bear Tribe, his hate for Beastmen and Monsters and the intoxicating relief it gave him slaying now mixed in with an ideology of wishing to be a protector of humanity from what he say as varmints, or troublesome animals. He is by all accounts a Humanist Extremist willing to carry out crimes in a twisted sense of protecting humanity from the other perceived wretches of the Earth
He quickly became a human boogeyman of beastmen and monsters often killing them for no reason other then his twisted sense of slaying them for the greater good of humanity to keep human's at the top of the food chain. Eventually he started to get hired for jobs often working for little pay or for free just so he could get to slay more beasts to satisfy his appetite for killing them.
"These beastmen and monsters who walk and talk like us humans, they are abominations to smart for their own good. So I will slay them and put such fear into their kind that they will never harm any human as long as I am around!"
He has started to get the attention of the various Earth authorities and the bounty hunters many beast folk have hired to stop the rouge swordsmen who has killed their own people, but many of them have fallen to his blades as well showing he is willing to take out beastman or human who gets in his way.
The Varmit Slayer shows no sign of stopping anytime soon and a small minority of humans see him as a hero for defending human kind from those that may attempt to bully humans. Many fear that the Varmit Slayers acts will inspire other humanist extremists to mimic him as he continues to carry out slayings. Only time will tell.

"Where do you think your going varmint? He grinned hunting down a beastman their who had been troubling a human village, it only brought the animal hating swordsman joy that now he was actually getting paid to slay them down, his reputation had been spreading around and in this bright clothing he was hard to miss, that was also intentional as he advertised himself hoping some monster or beastman has the guts to seek him out.
"You can't hide from me!" he said stabbing a wooden wall as his blade pierced it slashing the hiding person on the other side as he heard the sweet sound of his prey yelping in pain. The swordsman grinned jumping high over the wall landing on the other side seeing a a trail of blood the blond broom haired looking man followed the trail.
"I am sorry, I was hungry! Don't hurt me!" A voice sounded form the bushes, but apologies mattered little to the Varmint Slayer.
"Stealing is wrong, your kind are a scourge to society. I am just restoring the peaking order!" the vigilante slayer said rushing towards the bush with a warrior cry aiming another stabbing thrust to flush him out, as the blade entered the bush the as the beastman leaped to the side landing near a the bridge that lead back into town over a small snaking stream.
The hunter and the hunted stared each other down as the wounded cat boy glanced over at the bridge looking for an escape,
"Go for it cat boy...if you think you can make it" The Varmit Slayer taunted him seeing the desperation in the beasts eyes
The cat boy ran for it thinking he could outrun him, but Nash (Varmit Slayer) had other ideas..
He flung his sword like a javelin as the beast boy ran the town leader happened to heading to the bridge in the other direction just as the Vermit Slayers blade pierced through the animal boys chest!
"Hell yeah, right on the money!" The twisted swordsmen said walking towards the fresh corpse and the stunned town leader.
"He was just a boy, what the hell were you thinking? We told you to try to capture him!" He growled wiping the blood off his face in a rage
The swordsmen chuckled as he pulled his sword from the corpse marveling at the crimson blood dripping off it as his eyes stared at the town leader with a gleeful half crazed look. "He was too dangerous to capture" he lied, "plus he was comin right for ya partner, I was looking out for your safety, that I was" giving him twisted smile walking up to the man holding the bloody blade up the the elder as he recoiled back sick to his stomach.
"I hope your not calling me a lair sir, my name says it all! I am not a dog catcher, I am the Varmit Slayer so we better get our story straight" He said in a threatening way to the old man.
"Y-yes, he was a danger to us all" he gulped looking at the bloody blade near his face.
"Good, now I will take my pay and a rag to wash off this blood if ya don't mind...."
The old man rubbed him the wrong way as he spit on the ground, he hated people that treated these beast folk like they were anything more than animals too smart for their own good. Oh well, he supposed that's why beast slayers like him where needed in these soft times he reckoned to set things right.
