Appearance:
Duck is a skinny and diminutive beastman that stands at roughly five foot one. He has the appearance of a humanoid duck who's body is covered in black feathers. Similarly to ducks, he has an orange bill and webbed feet. Given the fact that he is a wizard, he can also be seen sporting mystic's robes.
Personality:
Duck is a narcissistic individual to say the least. He studies the ways of magic for personal gain and renown rather than for the forces of good or evil. He simply wants to be known as the word's greatest magic user, and will go to any lengths to achieve that title. There is one big fluke however, Duck can be a bit of an idiot at times. He is easily angered and annoyed by minor inconveniences, even going as far to inflict his wrath upon someone because of it. Other times, he finds himself ignoring the wise words of others because he believes his own common sense is greater. Generally, he is arrogant, prideful, petty, and selfish. Though, he is by no means evil.
History:
Duck was born to a wealthy family in West City roughly twenty years ago. He grew up getting everything he had ever wanted, thanks to the massive wealth of his parents. It was the stereotypical rich kid scenario, until he eventually reached high school. The earthling would find himself bored by nearly everything except history class. His professor was a big fan of the occult and arcane, and would speak to the class about legends on a day to day basis. That was the most interesting thing the young lad had heard in a long time. The more the professor spoke, the greater interest Duck would gain. Eventually, the earthling decided to speak to a fortune teller, hopefully one who could teach him how to use magic as well.
Looking throughout the city, he would eventually find a small, rundown fortune teller's booth. It was a simple set up, but the woman running it looked legitimate. Getting his palm read, she would tell him that he could become a great wizard if he had a proper teacher. Unfortunately, the fortuneteller was by no means a wizard. He would either need to seek out a teacher, or teach himself. While the woman was no master of the arcane arts, she did have a book on the subject that she was willing to part with. The old tome would cost a heavy price, but Duck had the cash. He would then spend his free time studying the thing, and doing his best to lean what it had to teach.
Surprisingly, within a few months, he would begin to develop arcane powers! Duck would from then on only refer to himself as 'The Wizard' and narrate his every action. After some time, he would finally graduate from high school, and would then proceed to live in his parents basement for the next two years. He would spend every day studying magic, and trying to locate powerful artifacts to help in his quest. Someday he will achieve ultimate power!
RP Sample:
The Wizard is seen in a dark room, standing around a bubbling cauldron. A green glow was coming from the pot, as the hooded beastman would stir the brew with a spoon. The old tome he purchased some time ago instructed him on how to create a potion that increased magical power and potential. Finding the ingredients from his kitchen wasn't easy, but it would all be worth it in a few short minutes. Duck would raise his hands to the air, and the bubbling would grow stronger. Smoke began to pour from the pot, and filled the ground with a thick layer of fog. Everything was going as he had foreseen, the spell seemed to be working. Chuckling to himself with glee, the wizard would begin to recite an incantation: "By the powers of the spirits and the ancients, I command the arcane forces to empower me! The strength of the greatest masters must be mine, and in exchange I offer up my not so humble service! Give me the power that is rightfully mine!--" The speech would be cut off as the lights in the room would suddenly turn on.
It would now be plain to see that Duck with in his parent's basement, and the floor would be covered in a thin layer of water from the steam. Across the room would be Duck's father who had just turned on the lights. "--Uh, just a second dad. I'm almost done with this last line." The older duck-man would shake his head, and was clearly angered. "Son! How many times do I have to tell you! You aren't an actual wizard. Your mother and I just asked you to cook a pot of rice, and this is what you do?" The wizard would scratch the back of his head with a blank look on his face. "Well summoning the spirits to cook the rice seemed like a good idea at the time and--" He would be cut off again by his father "So you just forgot about the stove then? or maybe our rice cooker?" Duck looked at his father blankly, as the pot behind him would send a puff of smoke into the air, and then activating the fire alarm! A small sprinkler would go off, and Duck would now be soaking wet, his father even more so. The man's look of displeasure in his son got even worse. "That's it, follow me!" The man would shout to his son. Fearing the worst, the wizard would follow his father to the front of the house and outside the door.
Duck looked around, but didn't see anything new or unusual. "Uhh, nothing seems new around here dad. What's the deal?" The angry father would return inside and slam the door, leaving out the young man. "I'll tell ya the deal Duck! Your not welcome in this house again until you quit all that magic stuff and get a real job! Your mother and I are sick of your mooching!" The wizard's jaw would drop at the statement "Mooching?! Why! That's absurd! Grrr! You'll see! They'll all see!" Duck would walk off the doormat and towards the side walk muttering to himself "Stupid dad! I'll show him that I'm a great wizard! I'll become the greatest wizard ever!"
The door of the house would open once more and a suitcase would come flying out! At least his father gave him a few personal belongings back... He was officially alone in the world, maybe it was finally time for that quest to find powerful artifacts. Would this be the start of his journey to becoming the greatest wizard ever!? He sure hoped so.
