Heart and soul, not merely by word but by deed, he has severed every link with the social order and with the entire civilized world; with the laws, good manners, conventions, and morality of that world. He is its merciless enemy and continues to inhabit it with only one purpose - to destroy it.

- Magnus Atar
History: Magnus Atar is almost a baby to the Demon race, being only 26 years old when other Demons can live for centuries on end. He was born deep in the Demon Realm, to the ruler of a powerful clan of demons, successors to the ancient clan of the Demon King Lucifer, thus inheriting his human-like features, allowing them to pass off as inhabitants of Earth and thus cause havoc in the mortal realm. His father, a ruthless overlord reigning over hundreds of thousands of lesser demons, trained Magnus from a very young age - the child showed promise and had an innate talent in shaping his ki for combat, for example, by forming blades of ki from his hands as melee weapons. What did not show promise, however, was his personality. Unlike his father, his mother, or his younger siblings, Magnus did not start out as a ruthless powermonger or a man corrupted by evil. Seeing the thousands of demons enslaved under his father's absolute rule, he would not say "good riddance", but rather "why are we doing this to them?!"
He had compassion, he believed the world he was born into was unjust, and thus he swiftly fell from a heir apparent to a nuisance. Not long after his twentieth birthday, he was tossed down the darkest pit of his father's dominion, left there to die and thus let a more complacent heir inherit the clan. But Magnus survived. Burrowing through the hole with his bare claws and teeth, falling to an underground cavern, he survived in the dungeons all by himself for years on end, his mind in constant flux by what happened to him and constantly in thought on whether he was right, whether he was wrong, or whether he should just give up.
Magnus came to the conclusion that his ideals were right - but that he was too weak to act upon them. Instead of crying to his father about the suffering taking place across the Demon Realm, he should have taken matters to his own hands. The Universe is ruthless, and if you want to make it better, you need to become the most ruthless of them all. An undying revolutionary, whose passion only rests in his ideals, who eschews his morality so others can be moral.
Guided by his principles, passion and sheer grit, Magnus eventually dragged himself out of the depths of the Demon Realm - and, as his very first action, made his way to his father's castle. It didn't take long for the old man, seeing his dead son return to life, to start to panic and order his execution. Magnus fought off through dozens of demon guards before charging straight at his father and slicing through his chest with a ki blade slash.
Unfortunately, even the Demon Realm does not tolerate kinslayers, so after a little bit of gloating over the bastard's satisfying death, Magnus had to flee. Barely escaping the grasp of his father's underlings, he leapt to the first portal he could find and ended up on Earth, not far from West City, where his story starts anew. It's not only the Demon Realm which needs revolutionary liberation - the mortal realm cannot claim to be perfect either, and as long as it isn't perfect, it needs to be destroyed and rebuilt from the ashes. But before that can be achieved, he needs to grow stronger, he needs to find followers, and he needs to instill fear.

A path to a new, better society cannot be bloodless. It requires sacrifice, requires a first victim. The old, lifeless, bearded man in Magnus's grasp was a better option for it than any.
Dozens of sets of eyes stared at the sight in middle of the battlefield, some with their mouths gaping open, others struggling to contain themselves from the anger. Who could have thought that today was going to end this way? Today was supposed to be an off day, when the Lord of Atar Clan amuses himself with a circus and race hosted in the middle of the clan, before they start preparing for a yet another incursion in the mortal realm - and yet, now the old man was gaping like a fish out of water, a burning ki blade pierced through his torso, and continuing to twist to push out even more agony from him. Despite that, however, the poor Lord couldn't even scream - a hand was placed over his mouth to keep him muffled.
And who could have thought that the assassin was going to be his own son! The same one who had been presumed dead for six years, the same one who couldn't have hurt a fly before his unfortunate demise...
Having ensured that the kill in his hands was truly secured, Magnus dissipated his ki blade and stood up, turning his eyes towards the audience. His mother, a young looking woman from whom he inherited his blonde hair, who was cowering behind the table and desperately trying to discern what had changed her wayward son so drastically. His brothers, one on whom was wearing the same cloak which a heir apparent of the Atar Clan would wear - ill-fitting, clearly recycled from its previous bearer. The dozens of guards and soldiers, who pledged their allegiance to the Lord under threat of death, torture or losing their families, and now found themselves lacking the one reason why had remained loyal for this long.
"Every revolution needs a first victim." Magnus weakly muttered. It was not easy to get accustomed to such a role. The noble, craven part of his psyche was still fighting against all he had suffered in the past six years. "And so does mine."
Seeing that he wasn't receiving any response from the stupified crowd, the young demon turned his eyes to the ceiling and continued:
"You're all afraid, and that's perfectly fine. It's fear which sets you free." A faint smirk followed. "I felt lots of it when that disgusting bastard left me to die. Fear led me to hatred. Hatred led me to freedom. While he was still alive, he kept you from achieving that hatred with loyalty, didn't he? He's not here anymore. Wallow in that hatred your mind wants to reach, and..."
Did they listen to him? Not a chance.
"KILL HIM!" one of his brothers suddenly screamed at the top of his lungs. Loyalty prevailed over freedom that day.
