The ferry trip over to the southern islands capital city was immemorable but there were rumors of a giant sea creature out at sea that was within leagues of the island which would explain the decrease of boats in the water, the captain warned everyone aboard that there were no other ferry trips departing the island and must rely on air travel. Return trip tickets were to be refunded at the box office upon arrival. The world was surrounded by monstrous creatures, the largest being dinosaurs and whales but it was strange to think that the island would be on edge over something that belonged at sea, clearly bigger than a boat, which is understandable to some degree. Melody shrugged as she disembarked the ferry, the first one to step off as the passengers were wary that she had a sword on her back, and as soon as she was further down the dock they all slowly started moving. Other people on the docks stared at Melody, while she looked ordinarily human, the death stare of her violet eyes sent shivers to every commoner that managed to get in her way; fearful of getting attacked if they slowed down the pace she was walking in. The reality was that she was quite angry at herself for having to come out this far for a tooth but the Duchess was vain in the sense that she would rather regrow a tooth than have a fake one drilled into her skull in its place.
The first stop was being outfitted for the island, wearing her usual clothes were not necessarily appropriate for the fashion style, and that mattered greatly to Melody. The shopkeeper recommended a few pieces, a two piece red polka dotted bikini at first given that she had quite the figure to flaunt it, and that made her narrow her eyes at him at such a recommendation.
“Do you normally expect people to say yes?” Melody fumed.
“Absolutely not! It is totally your personal preference honored customer.” The fox beast man squinted back into a sly smile.
Looking through the selection, she grabbed the sporty navy blue one piece with a racer open back swimsuit, and while it was not as frilly or designery as the others it was practical.
“Ah yes, a lot of athletes choose this style typically for triathlons...I was not aware that there one scheduled today…”The fox sneered.
Melody silenced him with an angry stare at all his unnecessary suggestions as she went into a dressing room to change, pulling the curtain light enough not to tear it on accident from the rage she was feeling.
Nosy fox.
Stepping out from the dressing room she was wearing grey-blue-and black individual finger toed wet-shoes that were tight forming on her feet like a second skin, the navy blue swimsuit, and a terry cotton short sleeve hoodie covering her green hair; sword pressed against her back in a thin sling. Melody approached the counter, picking a pair of sunglasses with a white rim. The money from the ferry refund was enough to cover the cost of the wardrobe change putting her old clothes into a drawstring bag that came with any purchase. The fox hopped closely behind while escorting her outside the shop by opening the door and bowed briefly before returning to the counter.
The horse shoecrab blue blood milkshakes were in a strange part of the island over the docks disconnected from the pier but otherwise intersects with a couple of planks leading down along the island’s cliffside, off the boardwalk next to a couple of other questionable food stalls, among them selling shark fin chowder, and she stopped at the very end. The vendor was a chubby black haired vendor wearing a Hachimaki, a blue jinbei, and the biggest buck teeth ever seen.
“Step right up, restore your missing body parts with a single drink! You have come to the right place.” The vendor mused.
“One, please.” Melody ordered, leaving her hands in her terry cloth hoodie pocket, and held a passive expression on her face.
“Right away!” The vendor took a horse shoe crab from a large tank behind him, taking the dark brown moving shelled critter and cracking it up from the back of its very long spiny tail to pour its blood inside a blender. It was thick like syrup and immensely blue, milk, ice, and spices were put in as well. The blender whirred unnerving the other vendors thinking the whole process was some kind of scam.
Melody paid with what remained of her change and took the paper cup with a lid and pink swirly straw that she thought was childish. The other vendors grimace as she drank the entire contents yet were curious if it actually worked. Digging in her drawstring bag she pulled out a mirror and watched her tooth grow in just as expected and she smiled then quite proud of the fact that her tooth was back.
“Thank you.” Melody turned to walk away before stopping at the shark fin chowder stall, after drinking a milkshake of blood, she was not interested in trying an entire meal, but would come back if it was good. “Can I try a sample?”
“Certainly” The old shriveled up man running the outdoor booth was quivering from his aged bones, using a spoon to pour it into a tiny ceramic saucer, and handed it over to Melody to take.
It was quite gamy for a fish, even filling despite such a small morsel, being quite a distance away from the sea made the cuisine more interesting. Despite not being a cook, Melody still had refined taste, and thought that the shark fin would taste great as a steak cooked in butter and mushroom to a lightly outer edged sear and teriyaki sauce drizzle.
“I have a couple of ideas...but it requires something freshly caught, so I will be back and have you cook it but this is great just not hungry enough to eat more. Thank you.”

“Anytime.” The old man spoke with a crackle in his voice and waved as she walked away towards the pier.
