The prophesied return had finally come to pass. Tightening the cuffs of his dress shirt and pinching the buttons through their respective counterparts in front of the mirror was the last step of preparation for another day at work. He had found that the previous clothing he wore actually wasn't fitting him quite as well as it used too. So needing to maintain a level of comfort despite the formal clothing he had gone and bought himself an entirely new wardrobe. After all, selling some of the priceless artifacts plus the Zeni he'd gotten during his trip was more than enough to cover such minor things as that. He reached across the sink and grabbed his toothbrush, squirting out a bit of paste and then getting to work on brushing his teeth. With a digital pad in his other hand he was playing some sort of tetris like game. The ultimate mental training, to gain the ability to see events before they transpire. To watch the very blocks fall into place long before they actually do was a foresight that was necessary to become the strongest. Tapping twice and sliding his thumb across the screen an linear series of four blocks slid into a cleverly designed 4 thick block, taking out four rows at the same time. Letting out a triumphant huff the Namekian spoke aloud to nobody in particular.
"Ha, victory is mine once again." On a different morning a moment like that might have him shouting his victory and the neighbours once again would become tempted to submit a noise complaint to the landlord. Even if that thought crossed their minds their hands were tied after the first time they tried. Bass had a mean stink-eye and a stature that could intimidate just about anybody. Needless to say he became fairly confident that he'd have no reason to worry about them disrupting his own life after that little run-in. Walking out of the bathroom and into the main living space he took his remote and flopped down into a cushioned chair while turning on the TV. One of the headlines on the underlying bar for the South City news was a 'Velocity Investments and Momentum Financial tensions continue to escalate!' which immediately was cause for a raised eyebrow. Beyond that there were the typical mentions. A car crash, a missing teenager and some exposure to small businesses as casters took live tours through the establishments. Bass had to admit, some of the items in the antique store looked pretty interesting. Nothing that immediately caught his eye, but he would have to think about going there some time in the future. After all he'd already started to gather a large amount of things that would go in his office as trophies.
Taking his tie off from a smooth rack and turning off the TV he quickly made a little efficient Windsor knot and went on with his day, locking the door after he'd left. Donned in his full office clothing, not like that's particularly unusual he made way for the exit of the building. In one hand was a suitcase with paperwork and a couple trophies within and in the other was a large sack over his shoulder carrying just about everything else that he intended to design his office around. He'd even gone ahead and put the stuff that could go into cases in them. In this particular case- pun intended, it was primarily for the two dragon ball shards he'd ran into. He didn't necessarily know their entire value at a simple glance, but he knew they were something very special. Just their make and the glow these shards gave off that was unlike a light bulb was enough to signify it was actually something important. Maybe they form together into something like a puzzle. He'd only know if he found more of them, he figured they could make something or other. That only nudged him further to try clinking the two shards he did have into something that formed together. Though the odds of them being two pieces that connected to each other were slim to none, and so probability prevailed as there was no obvious match between the two pieces.
Coming up to the property of the building he looked at some of the renovations that had been started. The building already was looking a lot nicer as carefully bit by bit the old brick structure was being replaced with a sturdier and more modern sleek exterior. It resembled something akin to many other buildings in South City. Shaped like a cylinder up until the top where it ended in a large ball shape. Lots of rounded architecture which was signature of Capsule-Corps engineering that had been replicated across the world. It would be accurate to say he never had intentions of trying to form a company more far reaching than Capsule Corp- after all they did it just fine so he figured it unwise to try and reinvent the wheel and put stress on an already functional system. What is more reasonable is to fill areas that Capsule Corp doesn't... Really difficult to do something that sounds so simple.
His eyes trailed to the additional structure being built on the companies property. Arrangements that were made a while ago over the phone, their construction nearly complete. Though unlike the office building itself this other building absolutely couldn't be used under any circumstances until the architecture was a hundred percent stable. With the intense gravitational changed he could seriously damage the place if he did something with it too soon. The resources used to make it were extremely expensive- talking half a million Zeni to utilize plus the gravity machine. He was confident that this stuff could hold up to even his punches. Though maybe there was a sliver of worry in the fact that he... Wouldn't punch the exterior of the building unless it was by accident, in which was a mistake during training in itself.
Looking at the tree he made sure to spot any miscreants trying to steal from it. Though while it was strange for a tree this tall to be in South City; especially an area filled with corporate buildings, everyday people couldn't correlate this with some incredibly powerful artifact producing extremely beneficial fruits. In reality he could make a whole corporation entirely dedicated to the sale and distribution of these fruits but he imagined that would cause more chaos than order in the grand scheme of things. To an ordinary human that multiplies their power level by a factor of fifty. That kind of increase is bound to get in anyone's head and while it isn't a problem for Bass, the people they might be tempted to overthrow in their life is the real consideration when contemplating the consequences. He'd take a fruit in a little bit, for now he would make his way towards the actual office building itself. This would be a surprise to just about everybody gathered since he was only supposed to be returning in a couple more weeks. Stepping in, the secretary looked up with a bright smile and spoke. "Hello! How can I hel- HELLO SIR!" Acore the Secretary spoke. Bass simply raised a brow. A realization dawned upon him that perhaps his outbursts weren't from him being part Demon, no.
He realized that it may have very well been from the stress of the job. To which with the new rectifications to the building and ethics it should be a bit better. Needless to say Acore still knew the Namekian that was angry fifty percent of the time and relaxed the other half. Better to not take chances. Though to her relief he simply raised a hand and waved it lightly in dismissal. "Good morning Acore, how have you been doing? Well, how's the company been doing as a whole- I take it you received the new employee I sent over? After a chat she decided to come over from the Southern Lands, pretty handy at being morale support if I do say so myself." He stated. Perplexed by his friendly demeanour Acore answered his question. "Uuuuhm... I've been doing good. The renovations have brought a lot of change, which as much as it's tough to acclimate to the new environment it's been nicer the closer the changes get to finishing. It's been a few weeks now since they started, lots of noise. Apparently the construction company can't work off hours without additional pay so we've been making calls with construction equipment blaring in the background. Everyone else has been alright, Greg has actually started to go to the gym, so there's that. You should see the progress he's made, he doesn't look like a dad anymore. Said he stopped drinking so much too. Everybody else is still basically the same except for being in better spirits with the nicer space. The cubicles were pretty claustrophobic and-"
Bass raised an open palm and spoke, cutting her off. "I understand, no need to continue further." He'd say, getting the short reply, "Sorry sir.". Taking a moment to consider the news he just twiddled his thumbs. "So technically I'm still on leave for a couple more weeks, but now that I'm back in South City it'd be weird for me not to help out around the place. I could probably help that construction get done faster, after all things made of your own two hands are a lot nicer to look at than that which was made for you. I'll probably do that. Not sure if it's a good idea to walk right into the office if everyone's going to be as surprised as you were. It'll happen in time, though. So when does the construction crew usually show up, ten?"
Acore shrugged, "Usually either at ten, eleven or one o'clock. They're only paid for the hours they're actually here and working so they can show up whenever. Lately though they've been getting here early to finish this as soon as possible. They're going with the deadline in mind afterall, they need to be done in the next fourteen days. Though if I know you at all I'd say that's more of a last desperate moment than an actual proper deadline..." She muttered under her breathe.
"Right, well I'll be heading back out to wait for them and to get new furniture for my office. With the new structure I'll have a lot more space to work with." Bass said, getting the short reply, "Of course sir, I'll still be here if you need anything." Then he headed back outside. He didn't want to make a scene in the city so unfortunately he couldn't just fly wherever he wanted to go. The idea of literally dodging every single bit of traffic as tempting as it was wasn't worth the potential chaos that soaring through the sky looking sort of like a demon could instill in people. He was thankful that these people were overseas where the Demon's haven't quite reached yet. Had they, he'd be much more pressed to fit in amidst the other odd Earthlings and alien lifeforms. It was a diverse society after all.
For the rest of the day and the days to come he would do a mixture of things. The most time consuming part was with his incredible strength brute-forcing construction to go faster. Parts that would normally have to be lifted with a crane and carefully installed over six hours could be done in fifteen minutes with him holding it in place. It cut a ton of the time required to get this whole thing rolling out. The second thing he did was find the best furniture for his office. Plush chairs, cushions, he was even tempted to buy some plushies. Though these just seemed childish, the Ox-King one felt like it had some sentimental value. After all, that was where he met Icey.
To which was his final thing to do, meet with her once again.
