Continued from Blue Monday
Upon arrival at the Engineering lab, the encrypted data in question was on display in the lobby, they were relics, and someone on the Department staff was removing them from their glass cases on the wall with gloved hands placing them on a hovering push cart. To the university this piece of technology was priceless, advanced scientific discoveries from a distant past, evidence that history had been erased at present. It was in the board’s best interest to recover the data, even from a third party, so that information could be archived and studied, and given Toad Lily’s reputation at the University he was given certain liberties as a studious genius who was on the verge of new discoveries.
Once all the data drives were gathered from the display cases, Toad Lily pushed the cart to the laboratory, it was a completely white room with bright lights, and glass windows with a few students looking in. Tiger Lily was instructed to unpack the computer, connecting it to a holographic display in the ceiling. Based on the storage units it was quite a lot of data to unpack, the computer served as a back up which also connected to a cloud server as a third measure.
All of this information was puzzling to Tiger Lily, she was only a teenage girl with little interest in technology, but she was intrigued if Vidar would be able to find what he was looking for once he decrypted all the information.
“You are not worried this might change your personality or something strange?” Tiger Lily mused, she was an avid fan of classic television, especially of Emperor Pilaf, “There was one episode when Emperor Pilaf’s robots turned against him when he was fighting a monkey boy.”
The truth of the matter was the robots failed to defeat Goku to steal his dragon ball but after half a millennium the story had been rewritten in favor of the icon that was Emperor Pilaf along with his wish to be admired.
“You need to make sure this data belongs to Doctor Kringle and it has not been tampered with just to be safe, do not integrate yourself to the data, and only view it.”
Toad Lily was surprised at Tiger Lily’s suggestion, perhaps all the television she watched educated her on such matters, and he chuckled.
“You only need to decrypt the data, if we find anything useful, we can gather it, study it, and improve upon it before you collect it into your CPU.” Toad Lily affirmed as he finished connecting all the drives to the computer and kept an extra data port cable for Vidar to connect with somehow. It’s not like he was going to plug it in himself, maybe this android was advanced enough that he only needed to touch the port to access the drives through an electrical connection.
