At the crossroads between the southern islands, pilaf land, and the western lands Echo was immediately assaulted by two assassins from an enemy clan. The strawberry blonde boy was four feet tall and ten inches, his power level was unsupressed to keep others away, but his youthful visage must have encouraged the pair to attempt their assasiantion while he remained alone on the road. At his side was a capsule corp grade sword in the shape of a tanto blade, he immediately withdrew it to ricochet the kunai that was thrown at him, and while he had a katana across his back, being outnumbered, he had no time tap into his demonic blood magic to increase his size to withdraw the second blade.
To the naked eye of a commoner, their martial arts dance was hardly visible, to anyone else who specialized in detecting ki they would see the three of them dodge each other’s blades. A cold sweat formed on the youthful samurai’s temple, the assailants were humanoid dressed entirely in black, their identity kept secret by the wooden masks they each wore, one of the masks was a laughing Yajirobe and the other was Oolong with pig ears at the top.
At no point would the Grand Dukes have any interest in erasing the heir to the Bossa Nova Clan of Samurai, it was another region in the Pig Demon Duchies that were breaking their oath to withhold from warring against neighboring clans until King Piccolo was erased from existence. It was one of his many goals to defeat the Namekian, which is why he traveled to the northern lands, and did not make it far enough north to avoid the western land border.
In the peripheral view of his violet eyes, he noticed the Yajirobe assassin had a tail, which he immediately grabbed a hold of with his free hand, and then pushed his tanto blade through their ribs piercing their heart for a lethal blow. The second assassin in the pig mask quickly diverted their attack by rolling away, rushing towards the tree line to escape with their life, and Echo gave up the chase so that he could unmask the deceased one.
After flinging the blood off the tanto blade, he returned it to his sheath, and then took off the Yajirobe mask. To his surprise it was not a beastman, it was a human with a tail, he narrowed his eyes wondering if it was just some mutation among their race to grow tails due to the ever changing climate on earth.
There were several of these types of humans in Little Vegeta of Oolong City who called themselves saiyans but he figured that was the name of the yakuza from that district. The mask was secured on his belt, which was stained with blood, and he continued his walk north. [477] Starting PL: Starting PL 55,410 Possible personal saga or spar if you’re feeling rusty like me. Renkon had been told of a small place called Little Vegeta, a small community of Saiyans that had been squirreled away to simply live their lives. He had been wandering towards it, preforming the macabre ritual of even stopping at the graveyards to see if their names were among the fallen there. So far, it had not been so. He was lucky it seemed, perhaps they would arrive soon. He had simply beaten the odds sooner than they had perhaps? He needed to maintain hope at the very least, and doing so would help him move along in his life. He had to keep his head up and keep moving forwards. It wasn't long however, before he came across a rather strange situation on the road. Several people were attacking a small one with weapons. As soon as it was clear that small one was more powerful than the others, and when the final one rushed towards the tree lines, it was into the gentle care of the Saiyan savage from a distant time. Renkon landed on the man, crushing him down and quickly pulling him into a headlock, squeezing until he felt the man fall slack, but was still breathing. With his new captive, Renkon jumped from the trees, landing softly near the walking small one and dropping the unconscious person on the ground. "You dropped this..." He said, looking at the person and then to the captive. " You killed a Saiyan back there. The tail was a dead give away. Not many can claim to do that. Some of the most powerful beings I have met so far have been Saiyans like myself." He said to the person, rolling his shoulders slowly. "I'm Renkon. Why were these ones attempting to kill you?" He asked, subtle as always. Renkon was in his armor, ancient by all standards, wearing armor made of metal, fur, and leather, with the expanding suit part along his skin. He was well built... And comically taller than the boy, standing nearly seven feet tall and looking down at them only because they had to from this position. While he couldn't exactly sense energy, the fact the small one was so willing and able to take out others around them, Renkon suspected they were at least as strong as he was. He crouched at this point, not quite kneeling, but simply looking at the one who was before him, a hand on the back of the poor fool in case he woke up and made an attempt to make an escape or worse, lash out and end up with so many broken bones the hospitals would think they were thrown through a meat grinder that couldn't break his skin. It was almost like a lion holding down a claimed animal so others could feed upon it. Renkon was closer to his feral natural than most others of his people, and it was clearly shown. 488 Starting PL: 7,907 (natural) / 11,861 (base) Willing to spar, but would be crushed unless you suppressed. While a group of mortals had their high-speed squabble, a grim silhouette loomed high in the air above them. A single crimson eye watched the violence with cold disinterest. Whatever quarrel had sparked this particular bout of savagery was none of her concern. Rather, she had been merely passing by when a trace of the arcane, something inhuman, had caught her attention. It was diluted, certainly, but intriguing nonetheless. She had come here to find and study the source. The scuffle ended exactly as the onlooker had predicted. Granted, it didn’t take divination to foresee this outcome. However, something unforeseen did occur... Another stranger popped up, jumping down from a tree like a monkey. ...And that thought was before she caught the S-word. The crimson eye narrowed. A weary sigh slipped past pale lips. Another one of these savages... Lovely. Oh well, she would simply have to deal with him for the sake of her research. “A child possessing a trace of demonic power... How curious.”Reminiscent of a silver bell, a dainty voice rang out from above. Clear, refined and undeniably cold. Glancing towards the source revealed a young lady sitting on a flying broom. Not much taller than the boy, she seemed small and slender, frail even. Dressed in dark robes and wearing a wide-brimmed hat, she was the very image of a classic witch. Long, mauve hair framed her deathly pale features. Her power was a mere spec compared to either of them. A savvy warrior could even consider it suspiciously tiny for someone flying so effortlessly... The witch brought the broom lower, but still hovered high enough to properly look down on the peasants. She cocked her head, studying the blonde boy. “To think there could be someone in this dismal landfill who might not be an utter waste of my time. A surprise, to be sure...” She muttered beneath her breath to no one in particular. Ah, but she was getting ahead of herself. She wasn’t even sure if the boy himself was the source. For all she knew, he could simply be carrying some demonic trinket in his person. With a purple puff of magic, the noblewoman summoned a large tome into her grasp. Thick like a brick and dark like the midnight sky, it felt sinister. “Awaken, o’ Tome of Nevermore, and share thy wisdom...” As she spoke the incantation, the tome started hovering. The pages fluttered open, as if turned by unseen hands. Soon, it presented a blank spread, eager to be filled with new knowledge. However, before the eerie lady could focus on her research, there was a problem that demanded her immediate attention. A big problem... Around seven feet tall, if she were to estimate. She stared at the Saiyan the same way one would look at a cat presenting a dead mouse. “I have no interest in your kind, ape.” She declared with her usual friendliness. Deciding that the peasant was taking too long to follow a simple hint, she took it upon herself to clarify. “Well, what are you waiting for? Directions? Away with you. Begone. ...Shoo.” She emphasized the demeaning command with a dismissive wave of hand. Words: 532 | 532 Natural PL at start: 17,909 (currently suppressed to 5) Tags: Echo Renkon

A man with a frame nearly twice his own height emerged from the foliage, dropping the assassin that had escaped to the ground, explaining that Echo was the one to have dropped this person as if he owned it as a material object. Rather than raise his head to meet the man’s gaze, he simply looked up briefly to listen to the rest of his explanation, and offered a simple nod.
“So you’re a yakuza like the rest of the saiyans?” Echo wondered what saiyans were in the first place, “Beings? Are you suggesting you’re of a different race from the rest of the earthlings?”
On earth, while different races existed, people did not distinguish each other by race at all, the majority on earth were beastmen and humans second. It appalled him a little that this man thought of himself as superior over others just because he was a saiyan. While he waited for an answer of his immediate questions, he learned this stranger’s name, it rhymed with daikon, the superficial cogs in his mind were turning, did all saiyans have names akin to vegetables? Now that he thought about it his father was named Cress, did that mean he was a saiyan as well? Well not fully, it was his demonic blood that allowed him to walk around in this childlike form, and his attention was immediately drawn to the direction of a broom hovering above them.
This time, Echo was forced to raise his chin to look up, this petite pale witch had a mysterious aura about her, and the color on his cheek immediately changed to a soft pink to match his hair. The way this woman carried herself was like a noble lady, which he recognized immediately, and his violet eyes watched her movements as she slowly descended down. In his peripheral view he watched as Renkon lowered down to pin the assassin down from escaping.
The mention of his demon blood made the birthmark on his face throb, he was severed from absorbing his mother’s power before he was born, and he sighed. The mauve haired woman explained this exact moment was not a waste of her time after all, so he wondered what she meant by it exactly, and as she summoned a book through magical means calling out the name Nevermore he immediately recalled who she was.
“Nevermore…Lady Lilith Nevermore!” Echo snapped his fingers at the realization, “My name is Echo Bossa Nova, heir to the Bossa Nova clan of samurai of the Pig Demon Duchies. My mother is Duchess Melody of Truffle Village, she told me stories about you from two years ago.”
At no point did Melody mention having a child in their brief interactions. The strawberry blonde boy was clearly the youngest among them but was biologically two years of age.
While Lilith combed through the pages of her magical book, Echo turned his attention to Renkon, and explained the situation.
“The assassins were after me in order to weaken my clan’s power over the western lands. We follow the ancient traditions of rank in a nearly lawless land, in my homeland I am a prince, but out here I am no one.”
When the teenage witch commanded that Renkon leave, she called him an ape, which was strange since apes did not possess tails. If anything, the tails saiyans possessed looked more like a monkey, and it seemed to be their biggest weakness when he killed one of them in self defense.
“So you know what saiyans are as well? Hm. I still have a lot to learn.” Echo admitted to Lilith, he was eager to learn more about it only because it seemed he might be part saiyan, “Lady Nevermore, I do have one question, and I hope you are able to answer. You were able to determine my demonic lineage instantly, perhaps even my human origin, but does that mean you can also detect my saiyan blood?”
It was evident that he recognized her as fellow noble, even at the borders of other regions where their rank did not apply, and he was raised this way personally by not only his mother but the rest of his samurai family. [703] [1,180] Renkon Lilith Nevermore

Listening to Echo, there was a number of questions he didn't really get. "What is a yakuza?" He asked, shaking his head a moment. When the next question was asked, if he was different than Earthlings, he gave a nod. "Saiyans originate from a planet known as Planet Vegeta, once it was inhabited by Saiyans and Tuffles as well." It wasn't long until a woman on a broom arrived, seeming to attempt to shoo him off as if he was some kind of feral beast, and he shook his head at her commands, and the comment about him being an ape got under his skin for a moment, he took a moment to breathe before he looked up at the woman who summoned forth a book. Magic, something he didn't care for at all. Not since that fateful day so long ago.
"The small one has questions about their people. You do not appear to be a Saiyan, and that fact alone means I am to stay and help Eco Bossa Nova if they have questions about their blood line. While I am not exactly up to date about what my people have been doing on this world, nor this time, but I am fully versed in our lore and history from so long ago. So please, curb your rudeness and allow others to ask questions and give answers on things." He said looking to her, the distain in her voice was already annoying, but the fact she was trying to command him like she had any real authority here bothered him even more. Renkon had questions for the one known as Echo, and was willing to trade answers for answers. She had no right to simply command him off. She held no authority over him, she held no deal of power of him, though he couldn't tell if she did or not, so it hardly mattered. She had the air of magic around her, and that was all that was needed to keep him on edge.
Echo claimed to have demonic lineage, something he was unsure about as well. Was this another alien race? Demonic creatures from kind of world that allowed them to breed with humans? He wasn't sure at this point, but again, it was something he could answered in a moments time if he was patient. Renkon had been patient for a life time, and while he could push for information, it rarely had the answers he was seeking. At this point, he would simply stand up, placing a boot on the back of the unconscious person who he had grabbed for the small one. No sense in allowing them to escape while they spoke, not after he had put in some effort in making sure this captive didn't go any place. The one known as Echo more than likely had questions for this one, about why he was attacked, and where the person was who ordered the attack. From the listing of titles, heir, whatever a duchess is, and the names of clans and villages, he suspected this one was a political target by others. Still, it was best to have information confirmed.

Lilith peered up from her tome briefly, when the young boy actually called her by name and proper title. As far as surprises went, this was a welcome one. “Oh? You are Melody’s progeny? Odd... She never mentioned having a child...” While she harbored some suspicions, she decided not to voice any of them. For one, this child seemed too honest and well-mannered to lie. He clearly had a noble upbringing. She summoned a quill into her grasp and jotted down his name on an empty page. Even as she let go of the instrument, it continued writing on its own. Title, relations, magical potential... Every detail was carefully cataloged. Between the musings, the witch chimed in to dispel a misconception the boy harbored. “Nonsense, your highness. A prince is a prince regardless of where they travel.” She puffed her petite chest proudly, holding a hand to her cold heart. “It is our heritage, not our home, which separates us from the common rabble. By both power and birthright, we are better than these pathetic usurpers.” She may have been far from home herself, yet she remained a noblewoman. Nothing could take that away from her. The noblewoman’s eye twitched, when the mortal dared to argue back. Slowly, she drifted in front of him, slightly above eye level. “Silence, peasant.” She snapped. “You do not get to make any demands of me.” Up close, the glaring size difference was all the more obvious. His bicep was probably thicker than her torso. Yet she had no fear towards him, only cold contempt. “The only reason I still tolerate your presence is because the prince has use for you. You would do well to remember that.” She spoke with all the warmth of a winter storm. Lilith returned her attention onto the book, checking the quill’s progress. “I do not detect blood, child. I detect magic.” A small, but important distinction. She brushed a finger across the pages and suddenly they started fluttering again. Soon, a spread about demonology opened before her eyes. “Demon blood holds inherently magical qualities, while mere mortal blood does not. Observe.” She clicked her fingers and the arcane symbols on the page flickered to life. They pulsed through colors, until stopping on shimmering blue. The witch cocked her head, seeming puzzled. “Oh...? How peculiar...” Slowly, her broom drifted in a circle around the tall Saiyan. She studied the markings on the page carefully, as they continued to shimmer, brighter and dimmer. “Traces of magic cling to you, peasant...” Stopping before him, she folded her arms and closed her eyes. “You have been cursed, have you not? Hm, a transport spell? No, not quite... This is something different...” Her brow furrowed with concentration. After a moment, the noblewoman’s eyes flickered open, now gleaming with pure disbelief. “A time distortion spell of this scale? Wasted on a mere mongrel like you?” She squinted at the man with suspicion, then back at the page. “No, that cannot be right... ” She promptly decided, dismissing the shimmering symbols. “If this is supposed to be a practical joke by some second-class sorcerer, I do not find it particularly funny.” It was the only other reason she could think of, why someone had this kind of residual magic clinging to them. She aimed a sharp point between the man’s eyes, issuing a cold command. “Explain, peasant.”Words: 567 | 1099 Natural PL at start: 17,909 (currently suppressed to 5) Tags: Echo Renkon

“Yakuza are criminal gangs who primarily reside in the Little Vegeta district of Oolong City, while the majority claim to be saiyans, there are others who refer to their own gang as something else.” Echo answered immediately, pondering for a moment that there was another group called Tuffles, but the claim that they were from another planet was pure science fiction. Every earthling knew that they were alone in the universe, earth was the pinnacle of humanity, and to separate them from each other by such obscure and unproven statements was bold of Renkon. It was no different from preaching their unfounded beliefs to the youth as if it would change their fate, anyone who believed in aliens from outer space spent too much time in the fantasy of pilaf land, and their notion of a dragon that can grant wishes after gathering seven dragon balls. “Did you hit your head, Renkon?” Echo was concerned, “You should seek medical help considering what you claim to be true are most likely derived from the imaginations of Pilaf Land Themepark.” To his surprise the man was unmoved by Lady Nevermore, every weighted word made the strawberry blond cringe, if he were in his shoes he would have apologized to her and persist that he would leave after discussing a few things first. Instead he called her rude while being ruthless himself, there was wisdom in silence, in order to influence others of proper etiquette that was suitable among peers. The feather Lilith procured began to move on its own, it was impressive, the book in her possession was something he had personally seen before when he was younger. After reflecting for a moment, his twin brother was in possession of it for the time being, studying the demonic tome since it belonged to their father. “I agree with you Lady Nevermore, one must hold fast to their station, otherwise the whole world would be in chaos without order. However, the Pig Demon Duchie’s reach is limited to its borders, and I am yet to inherit the position that will bring me closer to the politics of reaching beyond our territories.” Despite the ridiculous notion of other planets inhabited by superior beings, Lilith forgave this man, perhaps this strange man was beginning to figure out that they did not believe him in the slightest without any evidence suggesting there was any truth in his statements. “My demonic blood allows me to take on a larger form than what I should be compared to infant humanoids and it is akin to the age progression of Namekians.” As the mauve haired teenage witch observed the pair of them through divination, she noticed traces of what she identified out loud as time distortion, and there were rumors in Oolong City about a hyperbolic time chamber on top of Korin’s tower which is why the Yajirobe Clan did not allow anyone to traverse the tower as their guardians. “Are you certain that he is even capable, Lady Nevermore? Based on his power level signature he is not strong enough to even use instant transmission. An ability I have witnessed myself, perhaps it is simply moving at the speed of light in the blink of an eye, and not so much shifting through time when I reflect a bit further...” As the three of them mulled over a few things, Echo unmasked the pinned assailant, another saiyan by the looks of it, a female in fact, but he had little faith that she would be willing to give away her employer. After securing the wooden Oolong mask on his belt, he gestured towards Renkon to release her by tapping his shoulder, and nodded. “Allow her to return, so that she can share the news that their attempt has failed, maybe they will send more assassin's my way to sharpen my blade with.” [644] [1,824] Renkon Lilith Nevermore

In truth, Renkon did not like being spoken down to this way. Arrogant children, all of them it felt. The fact the skinny woman used magic made him dislike her all the more. She spoke of how she could detect magic, how her little spells would let her see magic in the blood. Part of her was useful. If only he could extract that from her and leave her ego in the trash. Echo asked if he hit his head, if he needed to seek medical help because of some theme park. "I have not stuck my head, but if you wish to think so, then so be it." He said, shaking his head a bit when he was told to be silent, sighing softly and seeming to ignore her when she asked him questions, kneeling down to look over the woman who had attempted to assassinate the small one known as Echo. She didn't look familiar, and he frowned again. Perhaps the ones of her clan would be closer to the truth he was after than just the appearance of a single Saiyan. He looked to Lilith now, when someone was apparently called a second class sorcerer. He stood and crossed his arms.
Renkon was far from amused. "I don't know what this instant transmission you speak of is, but you both insult me. You treat me as if I do not know what I speak of... Acting as if I am wounded in the mind and thinking you know better simply because you have not experienced a thing." He motioned to Echo first. "Then you demand to know the personal details of my life and history because you think yourself greater than I, when you can only barely understand the magic used against me. Otherwise you would not be asking me to explain it you as to why it lingers to me." He motioned to Lilith next. There was a simple shake of his head. "Perhaps if you learned proper manners I would be willing to speak on such a subject, but until then, you can wallow in your ignorance of not understanding the magics used to bring me to this time. Your station has no interest to me. Your being a prince has no interest to me. You speaking words to make things happen has no interest to me. While I suspect at least you are more powerful than I am..." He waved a hand to Echo. "It is the only reason you have gotten the respect I have given to you. You think you are a Saiyan, but refuse to listen to one who knows he is, instead differing almost instantly to some whelp who mocks what could be your heritage because she feels she is better than all those around her."
His eyes turn to the woman now, a smile on his lips. "So, you do not get to make demands of me. The only reason I still tolerate your presence is because Echo still has a use for you." He tossed her own words back in her face. "As nasty as the Tuffles during the war, with all the ego of the species of the Planet Trade Organization soldiers I had to deal with." His tail flicked against his side, remaining wrapped around him. He shook his head once more, sighing softly. His eyes, however, remained on the witch, wondering just how she was going to react to all of this. If they attacked him, so be it. If they wanted to fight, he would defend himself and his honor, but he was not going to back down on this one. The witch would get no answers until she ate her bit of humble pie, as the humans called it, and maybe then she would get her answers, but he was not going to change this. Besides, if she attacked, he already won. He got under her skin and made her lash out, only proving his point. If she didn't, then she still wouldn't be any closer to her answers than she was twenty seconds ago.
So many times in his life he had been underestimated, put down, and treated as trash. Her use of the word peasant was not incorrect, he was not of the noble groups, he was still considered an elite by his time's standards, but even now, he was still at only half of the power he could use once upon a time, but that hardly mattered. It was the sheer levels of disrespect she was playing out. She acted as if she was greater than everyone around her because someone else showed her how to string gibberish together to make a pretty light happen. Part of him suspect that book of hers was the core of her power, and without it, she would be harmless. It was not something he was ready to test, but it was something he was going to keep in the back of his mind for the moment now.

In the noblewoman’s mind, the young prince made some very compelling points. “Hm, no, he most certainly is not capable.” She tapped her chin thoughtfully, mulling over the energies involved. “Instant Transmission requires incredibly sophisticated control... As all forms of Teleportation do, mine included.” That eliminated any ridiculous possibilities, leaving only the annoying truth. Some oh so clever sorcerer was having a laugh at her expense. Clearly someone had planted some intentionally confusing hex on this man, meant to simply throw off those who could sense magic. Meant to interfere with her research. She considered this a personal attack, absolutely.
Lilith fell strangely silent, when the stranger started talking. At some point, the words stopped sounding like words and more like caveman grunts. Just when she thought she had heard enough, he simply kept going. Astonishing, really.
There was a chill in the air...
As the witch listened to the tirade, white frost began to creep across the ground beneath her broom. It spread in a symmetrical pattern, like a huge snowflake painted by unseen brushes. The rapidly dropping temperature painted breaths with pale mist. Her frigid expression betrayed none of her thoughts. However, her power kept slowly climbing. Higher and higher... Wicked ki clung to her like thin wisps of smoke. It was a sinister sensation, like an icy claw scratching at one’s spine.
Once the man was finished, the lady snapped the tome shut. “I see now...” She muttered quietly beneath her breath. Cocking her head, she leveled a chilling glare at the man. Eyes wide open... Yet the pupils mere pinpricks... “You are nothing more than a mongrel dog gone mad, barking at anybody you run across.” If looks could kill... She wasn’t angry, no... Just a little bit ABSOLUTELY LIVID. Gathering her composure with a deep breath, she shook her head. “There are countless fools like you, lost in their little delusions. I almost pity you. Almost.” Unfortunately, she was all out of pity.
Lilith dismissed the book with a click of her fingers. “This turned out to be an utter waste of my time after all. That is a worse insult than any meaningless drivel you can spout.” While it vanished in a puff of glittering smoke, a wand took its place. Made of shining silver, it looked as thin and fragile as its owner, with a tiny crescent moon forming the tip. “However, I am not without mercy.” Her tone slowly grew darker. “Before I take my leave, I shall demonstrate what exactly makes me better than you.” Between the sharp prongs of the wand, a spark of magic crackled ominously.
“Pay attention now... This will be the last lesson you ever learn.”

“Even still why waste so much time and effort on someone who is unskilled…I feel there is something important missing—” By nature it was not ignorance that compelled the youth to defy their elders, it was mostly being inquisitive of the facts, in a world full of information being told what is right without question was the epitome of being ignorant, yet Renkon was losing focus on supporting his claims by shifting his attention on Lilith who was conducting her own personal research in her tome. While the teenage witch was knowledgeable on the subject of certain techniques, from instant transmission, to teleportation, and the distortion of time rippled by the use of such abilities they were in the middle discerning how it was possible for this man to have skipped through time and space; if it was true that he hailed from another planet. Echo was impressed at Lilith’s uncanny abilities of divination she may have even been able to locate the aforementioned celestial body across the universe but before he could even ask the air became frigid. A vapor cloud formed in front of his face as he took a breath, his violet eyes shifted over at Renkon who prattled on about nothing, he also stopped listening once he said that Lilith was parading around as if she knew better, but the fact of the matter was that she knew everything from the very start. Anyone who crossed his path for the very first time would only see him as a human, the only reason anyone would suspect him as a demon is when he reverted into his giant form, and at present he was in his child form. After some reflection, it seemed that Renkon was holding a grudge against the Tuffles, which may have affected his judgment, and the race card was a bit unsavory since Earthlings did not distinguish each other so blatantly. Demanding respect from the beginning instead of earning it by being polite left a bad taste in Echo’s mouth, his demonic blood was thirsting for blood at this point, but he held himself together as he shifted his attention on Lilith. It was evident that the witch was challenging this ‘saiyan’ to a fight, she had been insulted enough to teach him a lesson, and now the young samurai had to make a decision on whose side he was on. At this point, it was clear that attempting to speak to these two was folly. He had tried to speak on a subject he understood and they insulted him, dismissed him, and acted like he was the fool in this situation. When she finally made the threat of attack against him, Renkon let go of his restraints and let his power flow normally. He wasn't suppressing like so many others might, but instead was hold back enough to not cause damage to things around him. She made the threat of being so much better than him, but he was going to show her she was no above reproach. Her magic might give her an edge, but he was still confident in his own abilities, in his own power, and didn't rely on power from a book, instead his strength came from within, from his own battles and willingness to put everything on the line time and time again. She leveled that stick at him, and Renkon shifted into a combat stance, taking a deep breath and grinning a bit. "I look forward to learning what you can teach me then." He said, venom dripping from the words. Renkon felt she was too high and full of herself. Perhaps a bloodied lip would teach her to hold her tongue, and a broken arm might teach her to mind her manners a bit. As much as he wanted to simply bury her in a shallow grave, he knew he needed to hold that back. It seemed that the one known as Echo still had a need for her after all. He slowed his breathing, locking eyes with the witch woman and wondering just how this was all going to unfold and where he was going to need to defend himself. Was she like the shaman who threw him through time? Would she attack his body or his mind? To Echo’s surprise Renkon was willing to learn his lesson in his admission, even after having met Lilith for the first time, he was also eager to take a stance against her powerful magic, but he had no intentions of fighting anyone for that matter. Eitherway, he was not the type of person to stand in a situation like this one in particular, and his demonic blood allowed him to become larger from his small ten year old form to that of a six foot tall teenager which reflected his mental age.
Even now he was hesitant to draw his sword, he had no intentions of hurting anyone, but the atmosphere of their encounter had changed–quite literally to match the frozen northern lands. As a samurai he was not the type to allow himself to be vulnerable in the battlefield even if this was not exactly his fight to begin with. In a way, he figured he could spare Renkon’s life, and possibly stop Lilith from delivering the final blow.
“Well, if you desire to hone your magical talents, feel free to use me as target practice Lady Nevermore. We could all use the experience given the real dangers we are faced with in the world.”
The teenage witch was not his enemy but there were others out there who possessed powerful magic, he had to prepare himself from enduring the unknown dangers of the craft, and he lowered his power level to nothing in order to give his opponents the advantage. [252] [2,474]

Renkon was still lowered into his combat stance, his eyes on the witchy woman. Honor would be satisfied this day regardless of if he won or lost this. If he was the victor, he would spare her life, let her live with the shame that she was so high and mighty on herself, and was beaten down. His aura burned around him, and he shifted his hand a bit, forming a ki blade. Unlike many of them, his would be more refined, more focused. No spikes of energy off the handle that was his hand, instead it was closer to that of a knife like what rested at his back. Though the one on his back was for rituals and focus of the spirit, this was for war. Renkon rolled his shoulders, letting his energy do the talking for him. He remained ready for her first assault, though he wondered just how she would do this. The short battle he had been part of with mystical beings had already shown him a lot. Her spell hand, that stick perhaps was a magical focus. Her voice might be used for spells, he suspected that is what the aliens had used on him before. Cutting her voice box might be a good means of removing that problem. Perhaps her eyes as well... No. This was no time to experiment. If she survived his first attacks, if she was strong enough to not fold as soon as he touched her, perhaps he would pull an experiment on what needed to be done to really deal with spell flingers, but beyond that, he was simply focused on winning this fight and pushing himself to the very limit once more. There would be no holding back, no letting himself be distracted. For Renkon, in this moment, Lilith was the only person in the world. Even Echo's growth was lost on Renkon, the words of wanting to be the test subject of the magic simply faded into the background. There was no hesitation or fear in Renkon's eyes, only a white hot focus on what needed to be done. 353/2519 ---------------------------------- Battle Tracker {Turn}START OF TURN First round of Combat

When the young prince expressed his interest in ‘target practice’, the frail lady cast a suspicious glance his way. Judging by his sudden transformation, he was serious about it. To deny his request would’ve been rather presumptuous. He outranked her both in title and pure power... But power was hardly everything. Thus, she averted her eyes with a frigid scoff. “Hmph, do as you like, your highness... But do not expect mercy.” She certainly wouldn’t show any. This was a lesson after all... A lesson in the natural consequences of angering a wicked witch.
Lilith closed her eyes and gathered her focus with a deep breath. Her power shrank, or rather condensed. Three arcane symbols glimmered briefly on her robes. One appeared on the hem, one on the stomach and one more above it on her-Hey! Where are you looking?! Tch... Shameless lecher... The symbols soon faded, but their magic still lingered, ready to act. Suddenly, her crimson eyes flashed open. Her focus sharpened further and maintaining the flow of magic became as effortless as breathing...
The witch brandished her wand and spoke an ominous incantation. “From Hell’s heart I summon thee...” She flicked a spark onto the ground and it flared into an infernal symbol. “Come forth, Tyrant of the Cold North, Snow Queen!” With an icy gust of wind, a tall, voluptuous woman dressed in the purest white appeared between them. Her regal clothing twinkled like fresh snow. A mysterious smile played on her blue lips. “My, my... Is it cold in here...? Or is it just me~?” As she spoke, the temperature dropped drastically. Softly falling snowflakes filled the air.
Naturally, a true noblewoman didn’t sully her hands with a fight. She had slaves to do that for her... Speaking of which... “Snow Queen... Bury these fools in ice.” The summoned demon’s smile sharpened, twisted into something inhuman. “As you wish, summoner...” She lifted her hands towards the two men. The mere gesture carried an unsettling chill with it. A warning to a savvy warrior. Something sinister was coming...

“A true enemy never shows mercy.” Echo affirmed, he was not the one teaching anyone a lesson today, so he took on a defensive stance utilizing his ki to prepare himself against Lilith at any given moment. The teen was beginning to have doubts that he would outlast Renkon if he kept his power level at zero, it is what gave him an advantage over weaker beings, and this was the first time he was inclined to try it.
As the glowing archaic seals formed along the teenage witch’s body, the placement was akin to chakras, his lavender eyes narrowed when he was being glared at. Echo was not a pervert, he was innocent about such details on the opposite sex, and he tilted his head in naivety.
At a standstill, he held back from delivering the first blow, and instead of being idle he simply observed as the woman with blue lips stood by to protect her mistress from danger. It was incredible to summon a being from nothing, there was also the possibility this Snow Queen was from another realm, and he knew little about magic to fully understand the abilities of Lilith Nevermore.
“Where do you hail from, Snow Queen?” Echo wondered, he figured it was more than just an illusion of magic, a being that possessed the ability to have thoughts of their own as any person would.
