NPC for WMAT
Name: Jebediah Snoutson
Alias: Hog Savage (Wrestler name)
Species: Pig Beastman
Age: 40
Gender: Male
Appearance: Standing at 7’1’’ and weighing easily over 400 pounds, Jebediah is not a small or lithe man by any measure. Some of his fat, yes, as evident by his big gut and portly features. Beneath it, however, hides the muscular and trained body of a former martial artist and physical laborer.
At a glance, the man looks very much like a humanoid pig. A big snout defines his features, accompanied by sharp tusks. His eyes are small and seem almost completely white, with how tiny his pupils are. Two pointed ears twitch on top of his head, reflecting his mood. Between them is an unruly mane of hair that extends back to his neck, the only thing separating him from baldness.
As a farmer by trade, he prefers simple outfits. Sleeveless, white shirt and brown, baggy pants are his usual look, with only a yellow sash as decoration. His shoes of choice are always heavy-duty work boots. When stepping into the ring, he accents the look with arm bandages and a black scarf with decorative fangs.
When talking, the man has a notable country accent and a tendency to talk with a lazy drawl. His voice is hefty and heavy, rumbling from the very bottom of his bulky gut.
Personality: Jebediah is a humble, honest and hardworking fellow. He is friendly and respectful to folk regardless of the choices they have made in life. Judging others or berating them isn’t his style. ‘Treat others like you want to be treated’ is his motto. His jolly nature makes him seem a little slow at times. Perhaps there is some truth to that, but he isn’t just a dumb brute by any means. He has a strong sense of right and wrong, which he is ready to enforce when he believes he’s in the right.
When stepping into the ring, the man takes on a more boisterous persona. ...Well, tries to, at least. He raises his voice and puffs his chest with bombastic pride. However, in all honesty, he simply doesn’t have the vigor and vinegar of his youth. His bellowed ‘Oh yeahs’ don’t have the same earth rumbling boom to them. Likewise, having children cleaned up his vocabulary considerably. The meanest insult that he can manage is calling somebody a jabroni.
History:
Jebediah Snoutson is a humble turnip farmer, a husband and a father of seven. It’s hard to believe that in his youth he was a popular show wrestler under the name Hog Savage. Once he got married, however, he turned to less violent ways of making a living. Farming suited the strong man well and everybody liked turnips.
It was a simple, quiet and most pleasant life.
All that suddenly changed when the TV one day broadcasted a tournament called Queens of Passion. There, the strongest woman in all of The Pig Demon Duchies showed off her strength. Jebediah’s impressionable children, all seven of them, were instantly starstruck. They started pestering their dad to also join a tournament. A big one was coming after all. Day in, day out. Even in the outhouse the poor man didn’t receive a moment of peace...
Eventually, the old farmer relented. He dug out his wrestling duds and started training for one more tournament. Secretly, he was pretty happy to find out that he’s still got it. A generous sponsor, who wishes to remain anonymous, took care of the entrance feed. Thus Jebediah has joined the tournament in hopes of raising money for a new irrigation system. ...And maybe showing these here city-slickers how a real working man wrassles.
RP Sample: So many sights, so many sounds... And most notable of all, so very many people in one place. Jebediah looked at the busy streets in awe, clutching a weathered map in his hands. He had never quite got the hang of those new-fangled smart phones. Analog was the way to go. That’s how he had always done things. Unfortunately, his preference meant that he was now hopelessly lost. “Ah am up in the fields without a plow right about now...” He muttered idly.
“Hrm, I know who you are...”
The bulky pig man turned towards the sudden comment coming from behind. He glanced down, finding an older gentleman looking at him keenly. “Ah...? Do you...?” His puzzled question was met with a nod. “Sure do. You’re...” The stranger cracked a cheery smile. “Hog Savage, the pro wrestler, aren’t you? I was a fan of yours back in the day.” Spot on there.
Surprise and embarrassment took Jebediah one after another. He chuckled and rubbed the back of his head awkwardly. “Weeeell... Yah got me there, alright. Buuut it’s been over fifteen years since I wrassled, yah know...” Still, it warmed his big heart that someone still remembered after all these years. Guess he was recognizable even after putting on a hundred pounds.
After exchanging pleasantries and giving an autograph, the farmer showed his map. “See here... Ah am looking for this... Wee Em Ay Tee... building” Luckily, the helpful fan knew exactly the place. “Right, head down this street, take a left at the big park and keep going. It’s a huge arena with people buzzing around. Can’t miss it.” With a wave and a thanks, the farmer headed off.
There was still plenty of time before the sign-ups though...
Maybe he would stop to grab some grub before that.
