Of course keeping DynoCapsules in one location was also bad form in a potential dangerous situation, children in Oolong City were taught early to keep zeni inside their shoes, in case a saiyan child stole their wallets in the Little Vegeta district, and it was clear that Chardonnay was still learning the ropes of being prepared for any scenario. While it might have seemed like Hachiko was scolding her, it was more or less advice in the form of questions, from a demonic point of view of survival. There was no point in cutting corners when the young girl’s life depended on every choice she made as a Clan leader, especially now that her father was no longer alive. It must have been difficult for Chardonnay to repeat herself twice, it was evident that the split personas were vastly different, and she simply nodded at the realization that the girl was now a Baroness. “So, scaling the Holly Jolly mountain was a test to determine if you can join the others? Interesting.” Hachiko grinned devilishly, considering if she should apply the same task to her quintuplets, but three of them were lazy demonic children. Only Anise and Kokeshi followed after their parents footsteps while the rest enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle of being doted on by their relatives and servants. The Baroness was eager to return to the coast, after having a proper meal, and time to rest she was about ready to depart. “Before you leave with Princess Juniper, you should learn how to create a pocket dimension from me, and you never have to lose another DynoCapsule again. Watch closely.”Hachiko stood up from the kotatsu, her horns nearly reached the rafters in the ceiling, and the demoness channeled her ki through her own body while concentrating it on her hand. A portal opened, she reached in with her sharpened fingernails to pull out a giant paint brush, that was the same length as her current height. Once the brush was out of the pocket dimension it immediately closed up afterwards. The ability to see an individual’s chakras determined that Chardonnay would be able to do the same with her own mystic powers with enough practice. Like a cell splitting up, Hachiko shrank down into the visage of Juniper, the furry shawl on her shoulders transformed back into the black floating dumbo octopus known as Hachi. With the brush in hand, Juniper’s cobalt eyes blinked, and she smiled demurely. “Are you ready to leave, Baroness?”[414] [4,287]

Well, everything appears to be reaching to a natural conclusion. Paizu plopped down on the table and yawned, having gotten her full. The frostbite from outside has receded for now, though she will surely start complaining again as soon as they have to step out of the warmth of the house yet again. Valentus looked down, considering on whether he had any pockets to store the fairy in.
Where was he going to head to from here? Further north, if he recalled the route he drew on the map correctly. The weather was only going to get worse from now on.
Although... the more north you go, the less precipitation there is - at least, as far as Valentus learned from the weather science module in his geography classes back on Planet Plant. Humid masses of air coming from warmer areas stop at a certain point, the weather becomes much, much more dry, and dry cold is not as bad as humid cold... Or something like that.
The point was that he was going to keep on moving on.
"Well, I suppose me and Paizu will be setting off soon as well. Thanks a lot for the hospitality," Valentus spoke up and rose from his seat - upon his announcement, the fairy on the table groaned and mumbled, then pulled out a leaf from one of the flowers to use as a makeshift blanket. It got the Tuffle to sigh, pull the leaf away and careful pick Paizu up into his fingers.
"Unless you want us to go with you?"

Come to think of it, they had other vehicles stored in the Dyno Capsule, which would probably make it easier for them to get to the border, but for some reason, Merlot and the Bossa Nova twins chose to scale the mountain instead. Was it really a test? Or they just really planned to hike so that there was a lower chance of being detected by the enemy? Either of her suspicions was plausible. The princess then offered the baroness to learn a technique, creating a pocket dimension to store in it the Dyno Capsules or even any other valuable items. With this skill, there would be a lesser chance of losing whatever items were placed inside it. Chardonnay watched closely, carefully studying how the demoness channeled her ki to create a portal. Inside, she pulled out a giant paintbrush with the same length as Hachiko’s height. While she wanted to try the technique right there and then, she wasn’t confident enough for Valentus or the princess to see it. Besides, she feared that instead of creating a portal, she might only create a ki blast if she wouldn’t be careful enough to control the amount of energy to put in the technique. If she was to practice, it had to be outside so the potential damage could be minimized. After showing off the technique, which the baroness had taken note of closely, the demoness switched into her other self, her shawl splitting from her shoulders and turning into the dark octopus again. Once Juniper was back, she asked the little girl if she was ready to leave, and Chardonnay nodded in affirmation. Valentus also bid his farewell, shortly after, but also followed up if they wanted his company. “Ah. It would be fun if you could still be with us for a little time. However, I also don’t want to trouble you so much since we are headed into a battlefield. For sure, you have your own journey as a traveling hero and I do not want to cause a delay in your trip.”

“I am afraid I can only escort the Baroness and the Baronette down the mountain towards the coastal border. Since she is yet to master the sky dance art, I will need to be extra careful with the pair of them on my paintbrush, and transport them safely through the winter storm. I can wait for you at the base of the mountain and redirect you if we happen to arrive first, Valentus-san.”
When Paizo plucked a leaf to add to the comfort of going outside, despite having to nestle inside of the armor for warmth, Juniper tilted her head curiously.
“Does Paizu-chan want to come with us? I am sure you can nestle into the fibers of my paint brush and travel safely with us, as well. Hachi will make sure you don’t fall out. Right, Hachi-san?”
The black octopod replied by flexing his tentacles in response.
“Very well, let’s convene outside, first.”
Once everyone stepped outside into the frigid environment, leaving the traditional western lands house, the Princess pressed a hidden button under the railing of the stone steps. In an instant the entire house was turned into a DynoCapsule leaving behind a red cloud, using her telekinetic powers she motioned for the pill shaped device to enter a pocket dimension, a portal opened and closed in a blink of an eye. Chardonnay would witness the technique a second time and be able to apply it in the time of need.
The paint brush was laid down on the snow, Juniper motioned for the girls to stand over it, while she stood at the gourd shaped base end that held the bristles, perfectly balanced on wooden okobo sandals.

Chardonnay answered Valentus' offer first - and the little girl was certainly interested in having him tag along. Her only concern was the direction they were heading - north, to war against the Black Heart Namekians of Demon King Piccolo. This worried Chardonnay that she would take his attention for too long, when the Tuffle was supposed to be embarking on his personal heroic quest. Valentus, however, was not deterred, and with a tightened fist, he tapped on his chestplate and replied:
"What's more heroic than helping your friends? Besides, I am not in a rush, and if you will be travelling to a battlefield, then I'm certainly going to be able to help..."
Juniper, meanwhile, offered to take Paizu with them - they will be travelling to the base of the mountain with the help of the demoness' magic brush, one which she had been carrying with her when they first met and just summoned from a portal before their eyes. If the fairy was afraid of the cold, then she could nest inside the hairs of the brush, which will keep her safe and warm.
Hearing the offer, Paizu sighed and slumped on Valentus' finger. "Ugh..." she groaned.
"Yeah, um..." Valentus mumbled under his breath to explain the fairy's reaction. "She's not going to be able to do that. Because of how the curse with which she was enchanted in the Forest of Terror works, she physically cannot get too far away from me before she is pulled back. It extends for a hundred meters or so, but... that's probably much farther than we'd get from each other."
"Do you think I would be tagging along with this dum-dum if it weren't for that...?" Paizu grumbled under her breath. She'd much rather find a meadow somewhere far more temperate and laze herself off for the rest of her life... Or, hell, stay in the Forest of Terror. Valentus, meanwhile, was always going on these hero things - sometimes they were exciting and amusing, sure, but most of the time they were terrifying and intimidating and made Paizu hope they could have a break one day.
"Anyway, I think we'll be able to handle it. If we managed to get here, then we'll just do the same, but in another direction!" the Tuffle called out as they reconvened outside, Paizu slid underneath his armor, and Valentus waved the brush-travelling girls goodbye for now.

A slight blush tinted her cheeks, the baroness was glad to hear that her newfound friend expressed his desire to tag along, and was even enthusiastic to help in fighting the Black Heart Namekians. However, the transportation they were about to use was limited as it could only carry all the girls. Princess Juniper offered to bring Paizu along but the knight explained that he and the fairy were inseparable due to a curse, so he suggested that he would just scale the mountain down instead, along with his fairy, and meet with the rest of the group at their destination. When everything was settled, the group convened outside, and the house was turned back into a DynoCapsule, which then floated and kept safe in a pocket dimension. Chardonnay noted how Juniper used it for the second time and became more confident that she could learn the technique in no time. The princess then laid down the paintbrush on the snowy ground, Chardonnay and Sakuya immediately stepped on it as instructed, the host followed after, standing on the other end and when everyone had secured their position, the brush slowly levitated up until it hovered through the cold winter sky. Juniper wished to remind Valentus that true heroism was established by his reputation in the public view, but she was certain that he was just predetermined by keeping it in mind to infer future actions as a hero. The suggestion of allowing Paizu to descend the mountain safely was met with a groan by the tiny fairy, it seemed there was some kind of binding spell her demonic mystic powers did not permit her to identify, and she assumed it was neither mystic or witch in nature. The red headed armored teenage explained it was a curse, a smile formed on Juniper’s face in response, and she was interested in knowing who placed a powerful spell between the pair.
“Is that so?”
The Dandelion Princess’ ultimate goal in life was to uncover all kinds of remedies that plagued earthlings, so her curiosity visibly surfaced on the demure expression she held for a while, until her cobalt blue eyes looked over to the Grape Vine Village nobles who followed her instructions.
“Hold on with all your might.”
Juniper warned, the brush began to levitate up into the air, and the trio hovered slowly at first towards the mountain’s slope. As promised, it would be the quickest, and safest route until the paint brush descended down towards the base of the mountain at a reasonable speed equivalent to a feather falling by aerodynamically cutting through the air until reaching the bottom.
Upon arrival, there was a cross road, a path led west towards Port Lumina, and another towards the north to the garrison of Sol Marina. The Baroness wasted no time with her vassal by her side to continue the journey west, towards the direction of the other Pig Demon Duchies that were securing the coast from Black heart namekians, and they were off after exchanging a simple wave.
As promised, Juniper remained at the roadside for the brave knight, and while she waited for him she gripped the paintbrush in hand, she casted a mystic spell on her black kimono to transform into Tea Clan colors; red, white, black, with the top view tea pot kamon. Around her neck was a black fox fur cowl, to keep the locals from raising suspicion of her demonic lineage, with her natural resistance to the cold snap. After a minute or so, it began to snow, and she wondered if the change of weather would delay Valentus’ arrival. [404] [4,971] Chardonnay Valentus
