In a world of many wonders, one of the more mysterious substances was snow. ...Well, at least to someone as simple as Zam. She had been up from sunrise, watching a miracle. Little by little, the whole world around her turned completely white. Trees, rocks, even the ground itself was covered by a thin blanket. Light and fluttery like cotton candy, yet cold and melty like ice cream... But it didn’t even taste like either! After getting over the initial disappointment, she had decided that she liked this white stuff. It twinkled so bright and pretty in the light and made fun crunching noises when she walked.
While wandering the white wastelands, the small Majin came across a curious sight. Kids from the local villages were all gathering together. With all the crops harvested for the winter, the big fields were open for games. Floating closer, the young demon watched the strange rituals happening. Some of them jumped into the snow, flailing their arms and legs. Others were rolling balls of white stuff and piling it into weird figures. It didn’t take long for the kids to notice the outside. However, allegiances meant nothing to these brave adventurers of the frosty wonderland. They were quick to invite the newcomer to make snow angels and built snowmen with them.
Meanwhile, the older kids formed a ring filled with devious whispering. See, they knew this stranger, who and what she was... Though to be fair, the pink skin and complete disregard for the chilling weather were pretty big hints. Anyway, the whispering intensified, until a plan was formed. If they used her power, they could... build the biggest snowman ever! It didn’t take much, or any, convincing to get the Majin onboard. Mimicking the examples all around her, she started rolling a ball. Bigger... Bigger. BIGGER. ...Perfect. One after another, massive clumps of snow were piled on top of each other. The nimblest kids decorated the hulking tower with stones. With their artistry, the masterpiece soon smiled broadly.
As the day turned towards evening, one of the mothers came to ask if the kids wanted some hot chocolate. ...Almost dropping the tray from sheer shock when she was faced with a towering snow monster. Honestly, she didn’t know whether to scold the kids or praise them... Eventually, her opinion shifted towards careful praise when the excited children raced to get a taste of the steaming hot treats. She was too busy wondering about when and how to even notice the odd one out.
Oh well, kids would... uh... be kids, right? Right...
