History:
Mizo grew up in a small town in the Great Desert, living with only his mother. His mother ran a general goods store in the town; however, because the town was small and rarely visited, the store never brought in a lot of money. Mizo and his mother lived a simple life, surviving primarily on food that did not sell in the store. Everything sold in the store came from resources collected and traded by the Wolves of the Desert, since they ran the town. While Mizo never struggled as a child, he wanted better for himself and his mother; he wanted his mother to be able to eat more than what her customers did not want.
When he was old enough to move out of his house, Mizo decided to join the Wolves of the Desert to try to bring in more money. While his mother supported his decision, she expressed concerns about Mizo getting caught up in some of the Wolves' less legal activities. Mizo would reassure her that he'd stay within the bounds of the law, but he wouldn't always be able to keep to his promise. Immediately after joining the Wolves, Mizo decided to move into a small apartment in Central City so that he could make connections while still being close enough to his mother to visit occasionally. After working with the Wolves for a few years, Mizo discovered his talent to be in treasure hunting after having performed countless odd jobs. He currently runs a small agency in Central City, where he takes contracts from many people looking for artifacts.

"This is the meeting spot. I'll check in with you after the job is done. I have another job to oversee elsewhere. Hope you don't screw up!"
In front of Mizo was a tall Saiyan man by the name of Bruso. The brute had a wide frame and a large build that made him appear very threatening to most people. But large men looking threatening was nothing new for Mizo. What scared him was the confident and seemingly carefree attitude the man walked and talked with. Considering the job that Mizo was undertaking, he'd expected Bruso to be much more serious; it was unsettling.
How did I get myself into this position?
Rrrriiinnnnggg...
Rrrriiinnnnggg...
Rrrrii..
"Hello?"
"Hey Dulci. It's me, Mizo."
"Oooooh. It's Treasure Boy! Whatcha need man?"
"Really funny D...Anyways, I need a huge favor from you."
"I'm listening."
"My mother's birthday is coming up and I wanted to treat her to dinner. I was wondering if..."
"Oh! I could put in a word at Uncle Nappa's and get you a discount."
"Actually, I was intending to cook for her. It'd be lazy and insulting for me to feed my mother inferior restaurant food when I can cook a superb meal myself."
"Hey! You can't come at Uncle Nappa's like that! That's some top tier cuisine! I eat there whenever I get the chance."
"And you wonder why your gi's getting tighter...anyways, I was planning on cooking a salmon dinner for her."
"I'm gonna ignore that comment. So let me get this right: you want me to loan you money because you decided to go big baller for your mother's birthday, correct?"
"Precisely, salmon is her favorite food, but she can only afford to eat it very rarely. It's kind of like a token of appreciation."
"Look...I get it, but I can't just give you that type of money. Fortunately, your timing is impeccable. A colleague of mine in Pilaf Land recently asked me to help him with a high-paying job. I normally would never pass up these kind of offers, but this could be an exception. If you take this job in my stead, I can pay you in advance."
"Explain what you need me to do."
Mizo's objective was to meet a smuggler at this diner and exchange backpacks with him. Then he would deliver the new backpack to a certain address. It was simple operation, but Mizo was not used to working outside of the law. He was a treasure hunter, not a smuggler. In his head he ran through countless ways the operation could go wrong. What if the police interrupted them mid-transaction? What if he was stopped by the police while he was on the way to the address? What if the smuggler ran away with both backpacks? Deep down, Mizo realized that most likely nothing would go wrong. But what if something did? He needed to breathe. Mizo took a few deep breaths before proceeding.
After regaining most of his composure, Mizo walked into the diner. It was game time. He walked in met by strong odors of both meat and must. The pungent odor filling the air was almost too much for Mizo to bear. He pushed through, however. Mizo sat down at the bar in front of the registers. He was greeted by a young woman with bright pink hair and multiple piercing on each ear. She talked in a gentle, yet commanding voice.
"Welcome! How can I help you?"
"I'll take the double hashbrown bowl with mushrooms, chili, and gravy with mustard on the side. And a sweet tea with two wedges of lime please."
The woman taking Mizo's order looked sorta disturbed at the sound of this order, but put it in anyways. Mizo couldn't even blame her. He wouldn't even think to eat something this gross if it weren't for the mission. But the order had to be distinguishable so the smuggler would know who he was looking for. It only took a few moments for his order to come back to him and it looked just as disgusting as he'd expected. Mizo would eat the food slowly enough that it wouldn't be gone before the smuggler arrived but would be careful to eat fast enough to not draw suspicion. Eat bite was torture to every inch of his tongue. About halfway through his "meal" a short human woman with bright scarlet hair took a seat next to him. She was wearing a leather biker jacket on top of what looked like a biker jacket. Mizo found this to be an odd outfit, but didn't bother to question it.
"Welcome! How can I help you?"
"I'll take the steak & eggs meal and a cola."
Mizo got nervous as he realized that this was not the smuggler's order. He put every effort into hiding his panic, but Mizo was surely terrified. But then he heard a whisper in his ear.
"Chill out. I'm the person you're looking for. I just really wanted a cola today."
The woman chuckled to herself as Mizo began to regain his composure. Mizo whispered back to her.
"Why didn't you stick to the script? How was I supposed to know you weren't an undercover cop?"
"Calm down, rookie. It's just a sweet tea. Don't get so worked up. I already swapped out the bags while you were pissing yourself. Anyways, you really do have some weird tastes don't you?"
The woman gestures to the food he's eating. It's at that moment that he realizes that he didn't have to order that slop. Just a sweet tea? Fury sets in the place of fear, as he'd been tricked just for what seems like a good laugh.
"Oh...you don't look happy. I'd suggest you finish that plate though; you don't want the restaurant workers to get suspicious...The name's Ginny, by the way."
In defeat, Mizo struggled to finish the rest of what was on his plate. He paid his check, picked up the backpack, and left for the address he was sent to.
Ding Dong...
Mizo stood right outside of his mother's house holding a box full of food. He'd bought ingredients for his salmon dinner as well as extra food for his mother to store. His mother wouldn't be happy if she knew how he'd gotten the money for all of this food, but he figured he didn't have to tell her. He could just say his treasure hunting agency had a good month. As he contemplated his excuse, the door opened. A tiny purple feline woman appeared at the door. She wore comedically round classes and was fluffy enough to resemble a stuffed animal. Mizo's mother stood at slightly over half his height. The look of surprise and excitement on her face was priceless. It was as if she was a little kid.
"Is that my darling MiMi! Oh my goodnees you've gotten so big! And what's all of that you're carrying?"
"Happy birthday Ma! We've had a good month at the agency, so I figured I'd treat you to dinner. I'm making salmon, I know it's your favorite."
"Oh my goodness! You didn't have to do all of that just for me!"
"I didn't have to, but I wanted to. Come on, let's celebrate."
Mizo and his mom walked into the cozy house. It wasn't very fancy, but it had all of the essentials. Mizo walked straight to the kitchen to start cooking. All the while, Mizo and his mom idly chatted, catching up on everything that'd happened since he'd last visited. When he was done cooking, Mizo plated the food he'd cooked; the meal consisted of honey glazed salmon on top of garlic cheddar mashed potatoes with a side of string beans. The two ate well and were stuffed by the time they were done. Mizo looked up and noticed a sentimental face on his mother's face.
"Do you know why I love salmon so much?"
"No. Why?"
"Because you love it."
Mizo was incredibly confused at her statement. It was true that Mizo did really enjoy salmon, but his mom had loved it for as long as he can remember.
"Even when you were a young child, you were never satisfied with this life. On the rare occasion that the Wolves would slip a salmon in our shipment, your face would light up with joy. It was one of the only times I saw you that happy. It was as if you were born for greater things."
"But you deserve greater too..."
"I don't need it though. I chose this humble life for myself because this was the life I wanted to lead. I'm perfectly happy living like this. But you were always different. You were never content; not even as a child."
"But ma. I want to bring me with you. I want you to be able to retire with no worries."
"But I love running the shop. Listen to me son, this is very important. I support you reaching as high as you can. Reaching for the stars, even. But don't do it for me. It's perfectly great for you to seek better for yourself. You're going to do great things, I'm sure of it. Fight for your own future. That would make me happier than anything else. Promise me that you won't forget to think about yourself. I'm proud of you, son."
Mizo stood right outside of the building he was sent to. It appeared to be an abandoned warehouse. Perhaps a company that Capsule Corp. put out of business? Either way, Mizo just had to make the delivery. Mizo walked in to a surprise. Instead of one person, he found 3 familiar figures. A large Saiyan man, a scarlet-haired schoolgirl, and a slightly portly Namekian in a training gi.
"D? Bruso? Ginny?"
"In the flesh."
The three cracked up laughing as they explained that the entire deal was just a prank to see if Mizo would go through with the plan. They made fun of him for how he'd panicked over every little thing. The entire thing was just a joke to them...
"You're all a bunch of assholes!!!"
