There was just so much green. That was something which Taras was still trying to come to grips with. Whilst there were, undoubtedly, parts of her land which had once been similar, the young woman had grown entirely in the desert. To suddenly thrust herself into a forest – a real, actual one not some virtual representation – was quite a shock. The trees pressed in on all sides, with only a thin road winding its way through the greenery. Small animals and birdsong provided the background noise of a lively, vibrant ecosystem. There was no sign, sadly, of the giant dinosaurs which she would dearly loved to have hunted – but she had something almost as good. The boar had been bigger than she was when she caught it, and the swine had done its best to fight – but despite her diminutive size, Taras was far stronger than she had any right to be, which is how we come to find the Queen now, not exactly in royal surrounds, but feeling far better and more comfortable in herself than she has done in months. A crackling campfire is set brazenly in the middle of the road, gathered from various fallen tree branches and limbs. The enormous hog has been spitted and raised high over the fire. Judging by the way strips of it have been torn away, and the wickedly sharp nature of Taras’ talons, it’d be easy to see how the Queen has managed to make a fine meal of this. Though, if one were particularly astute, they might notice that gnaw marks in the carcass’ flank imply that she might have been a bit too hungry to worry about even that nicety when she had first gotten her hands on the pig. Of course, she didn’t really care that she was blocking the road. Thus far, she hadn’t met a single other traveller in this remote region, and even if she did, well, they’d just have to wait until she was done! She sure wasn’t going to go through the effort of finding a clearing, or making one, to set up her impromptu camp. Royalty has its privileges after all! Leaning back on her palms, the tiny tyrant let out a loud belch and sighed contentedly as she looked up at the clear blue sky. “Ara, ara. I suppose I should go back and fetch the others. At least see how many of them survived after all that Sheriff nonsense.” She had been trying to convince herself to turn back around and take care of that for quite some time now. The problem was, going all the way back by foot would take her ages, and then she’d need to hunt down and find a bunch of people who very well may have decided to go their separate ways after they lost touch with her. Was it really worth trying to keep the Wild Dragons together when they were so clearly outmatched by even moderate opposition? Maybe she should just carry on and find more useful allies later… Cabin Powerlevel: 3847 (4808 base, -30% weighted clothing, +10% auxiliary core) HP: 45/45 Ki: 100/100 Accuracy: Fighting: 1d100+10 / Energy: 1d100+30 Defense: 55 Damage Modifier: +2 Ki Cost Modifier: -1 DR: 0 Ongoing Effects: N/A Damage Taken: N/A Techniques: Monster Queen Shout (Ranged, Energy, Finisher, Charging, Searing) 2/2 Nuclear Pulse (Ranged, Area, Energy, Slashing, Poison) Barrier 1/1 Inventory: Weighted Clothing (Outfit, worn) Auxiliary Core (2/2) Wordcount: 587

The grumbling had started the moment he realized he would have to mount the Ostrich-Turkey once again. His ride back to Kessho-ko was a long one, and Cabin didn't have the mind to turn it into a camping excursion. The grumbling had only gotten worse now that they had made it further from civilization and onto what could barely be called roads. Riding the birds had never been a smooth, pleasant experience in anyway for Cabin, but the uneven landscape only served to make it worse. The relationship between mount and rider was.. Rocky at best, and the Turkey made to attempt to even out the ride for Cabin, instead making pace with long strides, that while fast, served only to throw Cabin to and fro in the saddle. He couldn't wait to attain flight. He had felt he was on the verge of breaking through for months now(he could even manage a little short hover using his psychokinesis) but true flight had never come to him and he was still forced to take more mortal means of travel. It was hard to feel tough and superior when you were being tossed about like a rag doll. Cabin's snap back to reality from is musing was an abrupt and, quite honestly, painful one. Someone had foolishly decided to set camp in the middle of the road and the roaring fire had caught the bird off-guard. When it dug in it's heel to stop, the daydreaming Cabin was sent up and over it's head, landing with an audible 'oof' some few feet away from the flames and it's creator. He took a few seconds to lie there and gather his thoughts, but when he did rise it was a quick kip-up and a he landed on his feet with a small spin. "Lovely camp you have," Cabin addressed the monster sitting by the campfire. He sent a silent tendril of ki outward, attempting to probe her mind for surface level thoughts and emotions. An occurrence like this was uncommon and his first thought jumped to "highwayman." Most bandits weren't dumb enough to make their tactics so obvious, but then again this world was made up of all sorts. "Surely you know it's dangerous and in poor taste to camp in the middle of the road. Is this your attempt to mug travelers, Monster?"He said the last line while staring at her teeth and claws. He could see from the roasting carcass of the boar that it was likely she had taken it down with only those assets, and he made a mental note to stay as far from them as possible.

Trying to gain access to Taras’ mind is an interesting experience. She’s certainly not human. Her thought patterns aren’t exactly normal, either. The way she ‘sees’ the world is in a melange of acute sensations; her sharp eyes are one thing, but there’s also an impossibly heightened sense of scent and – particularly – taste. She can smell the power on him. No ordinary peasant, then? But the overwhelming sense he gets from the bestial woman is that she sees him as ‘prey’. And yet her attitude definitely doesn’t match up to that surface level reading. She rose from her seated position and turned to glower at the Saiyan. Her eyes narrowed, and she drew up to her full, unimpressive height. She might be a lot shorter than Cabin, but she still managed to give the impression of looking down upon him. “Who, exactly, do you think you are calling a monster?” She demanded, huffing. “I am the Dragon Queen, Taras! I camp where I please! And you would be LUCKY to be able to hand over your tribute to me directly!” The wicked talons of her feet dug in to the ground as she took up a stronger stance. Her recent training had definitely improved her martial arts sensibilities to no end; the way she’s looking at him now, it’s easy to see where all those surface-level ‘prey’ thoughts are coming from. She’s already eaten, she’s not particularly hungry, but she’d be damned if she let some ignorant guy come out of nowhere and talk to her that way! That was where she and Bass clearly differed the most. The big blue namekian seemed to think that the best way for her to rule would be to win people over with sweet words and kindness. Taras, however, was convinced that the only way she was ever going to get respect was to demand it. When people like this came out of nowhere and disrespected her, there was only one possible outcome! “Now, get down on your hands and knees and BEG for forgiveness, or I’ll teach you the price of talking to a Queen that way!” It is now idle threat. Cabin might be worried about the physical threat of her fangs and claws; and that was sensible. But if he thought that staying out of her reach was going to help him, he’d soon learn different. Already, fire is licking behind the diminutive woman’s teeth, and sparking yellow power crackles on her fingernails. She might be small, but the pint-sized Queen had an ego to match with the best of them, and she was not someone to take lightly! "Ah, so you are just a common bandit. That's a shame." He took no heed to her show of intimidation, taking the oppurtunity to pop a small seed out of his pocket and into the dirt at his feet. "Do you mind?" he asked the Dragon Queen, but it was more of a rhetorical question. He rolled his hands as if he was shaping the air into a ball, drawing tiny rivulets of blood from the ground around the campfire where Taras had butchered the hog and brought them all together into a tiny ball of glistening crimson. He stopped his movemonts and the blood ball lost it's form almost immediately, splashing down onto the ground over the covered seed.
"I should think a beast as... 'Advanced' as you would know better than to refer to the apex as prey." He next movement was a counter-clockwise motion with his left hand, causing a staff with a strange gem head to rise from the saddle, and as he completed the circle Cabin squeezed his fist closed causing the wood of the staff to shatter and leaving only the focus. He wasn't normally one for using weapons, he mostly scorned them and preferred to use his own mind and fists to settle a dispute, but his training had shifted lately. He had found a great focus for his ki manipulation and it wasn't something he could just toss to the side. As powerful as he had gotten naturally, these new implements could truly push him beyond. "And I'll have you know, I am an Elite Saiyan, I do NOT beg."He eyed over the monster before him, trying to take in as much information as possible. He noticed the flames that seemed to peek out from her body and he mentally sighed. She could manipulate ki as well and that meant this wouldn't be as simple as 'one-two-done.' This may actually be a fight worth having, but it could get very dangerous, very quickly. While he wasn't intimidated in the slighest by the constant thoughts that he was actually the prey, that did mean he was essentially dealing with no better than a wild beast. A being that, even though it spoke the language and appeared to be an Earthling, was something much more. He elected, however, to not drop into the Saiyan Fighting Crouch at this time, extending his ki aura out instead. ----- WC: 402 Initiative Roll

Cabin carefully watched his soon-to-be opponent, studying the flow of ki around them for any hint at what they might do or how they may fight. Scanning their mind returned nothing fruitful, but perhaps good-old fashioned training would come through again like it had so many times before. He stared down the fire beast, taking a deep breath and concentrating the ki within his body. The grass around him rustled as his ki disturbed the air, creating little pulses of wind that gently rolled off of him. "I give you one last warning, bandit. I do not have time to waste." He raised his hand quickly, a ball of dark green ki coalescing in his palm, and fired it off just as quickly. It carried little actual weight behind it, and was meant as a warning. It still carried enough power to scorch, but any seasoned fighter would take no damage from it, thought if it caught her off guard it may be enough to throw her off long enough for Cabin to land a few solid blows later in their scuffle. ----- WC: 182

Post by Queen Taras on Dec 15, 2020 13:38:46 GMT -8
“I don’t know what an Elite Saiyan is, but I know it’s nothing compared to a Queen!” Taras shot back angrily, apparently unintimidated by the display of power over the blood that had been spilled. She’s seen a lot of strange things recently; a man who can clean up after her messes isn’t exactly the most worrisome of them.
The green energy splashed over her crossed forearms, and at that point, any further discussion was clearly out. This rude man had come out of nowhere and was apparently intent on disrespecting her as much as he possibly could in as short a time as possible!
“We’ll see how long you can keep that disrespectful tone!”
Taras’ shell began to glow with power. Apparently she had no such compunction about using non-lethal methods in the first instance. Instead, her shell was suffused with an intense green light, which only grew more intense by the moment.
And then she threw her hands up, and the world exploded into incandescent, burning green energy. Cabin’s power had been diffuse, but this energy was different – aside from the fact that it expanded out in a wide sphere in all directions, it also sought to cut right through any physical matter and burn at the same time.
In an instant, his complaint about the camp was rendered moot, because there was no camp. In fact, there was no road, and for a good twenty feet in all directions, there were no trees. And to make matters worse, the tiny woman’s body was still crackling with that power as she stepped forwards meaningfully towards him.
Her anger blazed in her eyes as the eerie green light continued to play warningly about her body.
“Well?!” She demanded, “Are you going to BEG, or are you going to REPLACE THAT HOG?!”
And before he could give a satisfactory answer one way or another, she let out a second pulse of that horrifying green power – burning a second circle of cracked and broken ground into the earth. She had had quite enough of people continuing to treat her so poorly, it was time she vented her frustrations!

The bandit raised her hands to block his attack, clearly taken for a fight as well, thought perhaps not as excited as Cabin for a random wilderness attack. He thought to say something smart but before he could even bring his wit to bear, she unleashed a terrifying pulse of glowing green energy. His instincts kicked in before he had really taken in the situation and his legs kicked him back out of the way of the energy wave. The shelled woman began shouting at him once again, demanding his prostation and as he turned to respond in kind he was met with the secondary pulse, knocking him off his feat and sending him tumbling backwards. Luckily for him he had prepped the SaibaSeed before hand, and as the smoke cleared from the dual attacks, he was pleased to see that the seed had survived. The Spooky-Saiba, a twisted, black-and-red version of the saibaman, burst from the ground and leaped immediately into action, slashing at Taras with it's small, but formidable claws. With a distraction at hand Cabin was able to roll to his feet and recover, patting small embers out on his robe, "I'm about to show you what an Elite Saiyan is!" With a grunt, he struck the empty air with his fist, but the air rippled around his hand and visible wave of pressure blasted across the wrecked landscape straight towards Taras. The Spooky-Saiba gave a creepy, child-like giggle before disengaging and bouncing around Taras, waiting for it's next opportunity. "If wanton destruction is what you crave, I should think to show you some tricks," Cabin teased as he dropped into the Saiyan fighting stance and awaited her next onslaught. ----- WC: 283
