Oolong City.
Bass saw it two ways, opportunities and issues. Lawlessness and rampant crime came with ups and downs, being able to bend flexible rules far enough to get things done that otherwise couldn't happen was certainly a perk, whereas it could all be torn down with the same negligence to the frail set of restrictions put in place. The good part was it was about time to leave and get back to more familiar parts of the world, but before then he had a task he needed to complete. The Namekian had started his charting of the Momentum Corporations future endeavours recently in South City, going into explicit detail as to the methods of construction and what to build where.
The Western Lands originally was supposed to be the area that housed The Burrito Bass, a burrito establishment catering to martial artists and ambitious normal folk. Though when he remembered how lawless the area was he figured out just what would do the trick. Sitting at an inconspicuous office somewhere in Oolong City, the Namekian tapped a pen against his temple. He'd found himself near the conclusion of his endeavours to set up an establishment in Oolong City. Permits and licenses were way too easy to acquire because of the nature of the city, and all that was before him in order to finalize his efforts was to sign and pay for the property that his security company would be founded on.
Earlier that day, just a little after he'd taken out those meat hoarders was when he'd gotten free time to set up inspections and be taken around Oolong City at various properties. The amount of times people tried to scram him was profound, going as far as to jack up the prices and claim fantastic features that just weren't there. His mind went back to the guy who tried to sell him a one story state of the art office building, but when Bass noticed a fold in the wall and tucked at a lip he saw, the taped paper all along the building just crumpled to the ground to reveal soggy wood with who knew what infesting it.
Needless to say, that guy was the first to realize that while Bass was a stranger to the city, he wasn't a stranger to scum or the environment he was in. He'd worked for King Piccolo after all, there was a time that behaviour like that which these people displayed was implanted into him, he was relieved to have shaken those habits by this point. Eventually he'd be involved in a legitimate offer for a reasonable price. A large four story abandoned apartment building just outside of Oolong City's red light district. Figures, the extreme crime in the area and it being a residential structure made it an incredibly difficult sell, the guy must've been dropping the price for months until Bass came around.
Signing the papers, what few legal motions Oolong City actually supported started to happen as the property rights were transferred over to Bass and The Momentum Corporation. From there the task was much more difficult, requiring him to meticulously repair the building as best he could. His incredible strength made a lot of busy work hundredfold easier, allowing trash to be hauled out in huge swaths to clear out the space. Then footing the bigger end of the bill after acquiring the property, the Namekian had to hire a crew for renovations. Repairing walls, painting, giving the entire structure a well put together makeover. Somewhere in that period of a few days Bass contacted headquarters, getting in touch with his secretary. Ironically, the method to which he got a M.O.M over to Oolong City was through the very same product installed at headquarters. With a flash it clattered in front of Bass, and from there it was fairly easy to install the new product.
It wouldn't take too long after that to set up some initial staff. Largely it was intended that just a janitor and a few data managers would be hired to get all of the databases in order whilst maintaining cleanliness. The place couldn't actually be open for operation until it had some powerful regular backing like that of a martial artist or an extreme amount of zeni to buy a fully functional police force. Putting out a few people preemptively would end poorly for everyone involved, and so the locale would remain on the down low. However with everything doable in place for the moment, Bass understood he was in need of a lot more zeni than he currently had at his disposal. With that in mind, it was time for the Namekian to leave Oolong City and the building to its own devices, the employees there would be paid nicely until more financial support was sent from the new corporate offices in South City.
As Bass ascended into the sky, he recalled the times when he travelled the sea by makeshift raft and braved the wilderness by foot. So often lately had he been just travelling in a millisecond wherever he wanted to go in the world, so he figured this time he'd approach it from a different perspective. Having to lock onto some kind of powerful ki signature to make the jump, Melody was the key that allowed him to get here, but at the moment as far as he could tell there wasn't anyone he knew in Pilaf Land. Surely there were large power signatures relative to the average everyday civilian, but they weren't distinct enough to get a good enough lock.
Though largely those were excuses, he just wanted to explore and see some new sights. Soaring through the skies, the heart of Western civilization, Oolong City slowly faded into the distance as more rustic and characteristic Western Land features grew on the horizon. The Namekian took the time to get a grasp of different places in the area. He flew over a couple of villages, recalling various mentions of duchies and heirs, princesses and dukes. The Western Lands was certainly a different place, culturally a whole new scene as opposed to what Bass was familiar with in other regions. It was distinct and for that same reason, intriguing. Taking in the sights before he'd end up at the endless blue expanse of the ocean, he started looking specifically for food ingredients.
If the Western Lands was so exotic, than perhaps The Burrito Bass could benefit from some ingredients found out here. He often associated Dinosaurs more with the Central and Southern Lands, but when he thought about it there was really no reason that they couldn't be out here- in fact when he thought of them he often thought up rustic orange palettes, cracked ground, tumbleweed and the likes. All traits that could be found in these parts now and again, and as such it didn't take particularly long until he found some dinosaurs. Not of the vicious kind, just some bush munchers grazing the land in search of food. Seeing no reason to hunt for food at the moment, Bass just noted the potential presence of valuable ingredients- though he more often than not preferred to hunt the more vicious kind of exotic monsters than the docile ones.
Then it happened, land breaking away and opening up to the seemingly endless ocean. Entering one might not think there was more land at the other side unless they'd known beforehand with just how seemingly infinite the blue expanse was. The occasional fish breaching the surface was about the most exciting thing to see, but when Bass thought back to the gargantuan dragon ball shark he couldn't help but be a little more engaged in watching as opposed to how he would be if he'd never seen such a sight. It gave more mystery to the ocean, something truly one of a kind could pop out and make his day- or make for a very exciting battle. He vividly recalled that they had chosen to release that shark back into the wild, but also remembered that whatever caused it to turn into that in the first place was never identified. With how common the shards could be- rare but plentiful around the world, it wasn't hard to imagine it accidentally swallowing some. Though that wasn't the case, the shark had spots and bits in its skin, it felt more like an infusion than an accident.
His mind wandered with possibilities, a mad scientist with a lab under the ocean? He'd heard stories of crazy scientist in the past- HFIL, he'd just dealt with one that made super meat (that Bass thought was delicious). So imagining such a chance wasn't as difficult as it should be, and he wondered if something else would emerge from the ocean someday. While he did that, islands had begun to emerge in the distance as the curvature of the Earth allowed the horizon to show land. Blossoming tropical trees and true untouched wildlife. He definitely saw dinosaurs and monsters here, in places that Humans have rarely ever been before. He practically saw an adventure in some of the places, but he figured now wasn't really time to stop and explore the particulars as he closed in on the Central Lands. He actually wasn't aware a bridge went all the way over, but, maybe one day he would find out.
Eventually he would cross that distance, feeling guilty that flying felt slow when he used to have to walk to get from A to B. Looking down, he took the chance to eye some of the terrain and land to consider the kinds of things it could offer. Of course, he figured he would be setting up The Burrito Bass in West City (which he still didn't understand being in the Central Lands). Now over the vast plains, he caught more exotic life and flourishing ecosystems of species that normally never saw each other through their entire lives. It was strange, having that sort of global understanding of things what with being able to fly and instantly teleport to make once in a lifetime journeys just coffee breaks. The Namekian didn't even know that by this point he'd entered the Southern Lands proper, getting ever closer to one of the largest corporations on Earth, one that actually managed to snag a region all to its own.
Pilaf Land.
He'd just come from there just shy of a week ago in order to get some mighty foods, and so returning felt strange. At the time he left, zeni wasn't really on the mind but with the coffers draining and people on his payroll- plus future upgrades and company rollouts he'd need to acquire some more assets. He had a plan, considering some of the things he'd seen on his last trip. Pull a few strings here, a legal loophole there, all in all it could net him a few million zeni if he pulled it off right- perhaps he could even acquire greater amounts if he thought about it a bit more.
And then it revealed itself, the most urbanized region in the entire world. Theme park rides, corporations, games, flashing neon lights, marketing schemes. The Namekian knew he'd need to get some legwork in first before he'd get what he wanted, and so something came to mind. A little opportunity that Will and he snagged a good number of months back, he figured some more problems of a similar nature must've cropped up by this point. Not to mention the fact that he could get his hands on more mighty foods to satiate his mighty diet- he wondered what a burrito made of the stuff would taste like.
Thinking about it, he had the means to do that. The meat is self explanatory- mandatory for any true burrito. The wheat could be made into tortilla bread, the veggies also could work as a staple of burritos. Though he caught himself on mushrooms, mushrooms? On burritos, mushrooms were a rare sight. Personally he'd prefer beans or something but... Made the right way, he didn't see a particular reason why mushrooms couldn't be a valid substitute. So shrugging his shoulders, the Namekian started to slowly lower down at the edge of the area where he'd come for the carrot job the first time around. Before he actually checked to see if they were hiring at the moment, he'd do some window shopping. Pilaf Land was a great place to come to for the latest tech, which proved invaluable if Bass wanted to find means to work his body the most at his power level.
Of course, something of that calibre wouldn't just be available in a window. It'd require incredible technology like that which the capsule corp HQ uses. The Momentum Corporation might as well still be a knock-off compared to that, but Bass knew what he really had to do. The Namekian would have to develop a new technology using the funds acquired from Pilaf Land in the future, while other means were likely available, he wasn't one to fully hedge his bets on chance to find something he needed.
So he pulled away from the hefty hum of the streets and turned his sights towards his current scheme. His get rich quick scheme.
It was time to get started.
