Carter stared at the lake, the vast blue was calming in its own way, so still and silent. So maybe he could get this done after all.He stared at the fishing rod, a simple contraption for well....fishing...He definitely knew what he was doing.
"So I just need to catch a fish....can't be that hard..."
His hand gripped the fishing rod.His uncertainty solidified by Accel saying:
(" You've never fished before")
Accel wasn't sugar coating anything. Carter ignored him and flicked the fishing rod out into the water and looked around. Carter got an idea maybe he could still catch something.
"Can you make a scan for fish?"
("I'm disappointed")
"You don't get to be"
("This is supposedly more of a task for those who are patient...obviously not you")
Then his vision changed and he could see them, the fish moved about aimlessly and without caution...he could definitely catch one. He swung the fishing rod around over his head and swung it trying to make the hook hit the fish. 1d100·1d26·1d12

The trip to the Southern Islands was somewhat.. refreshing. It brought back old memories. Memories of when she first started off as a martial artist. She is still learning, that's for sure but, still. The first person that came to mind when she heard the Southern Islands was that bald headed martial artist. Zaru, was it? She wouldn't mind meeting him at this event. A.. Fishing Tournament, to be specific. The feline wore a simple black track suit with white stripes on the sleeves and leggings and finally, some sneakers up finish it off. There she stood, at the entrance of the venue. Jade walked briskly to the registration booth, where she signed her name and collected the neccessary fishing gear needed to get this tournament over with, which included the fishing rod, of course, which was apparently for free. Jade.. has fished before, but not with a fishing rod. She was instead taught to use her tail. It was said that this is how Saiyans normally fish? Well, Jade also knew how to do that and didn't see a reason she shouldn't do so today. Finally, everything was set and she walked slowly along the pier, looking for some familiar faces. She saw quite a few actually. She walked over to a empty spot on the pier and placed down her fishing rod. She would be there for a few minutes, with her tail stuck inside the water as she waited for her first fish to take the bait. She was successful in doing this and not long after, she would have a whole pile of fishes on the pier, fifty eight to be exact, but after that last fish.. her luck basically ran out. A slight frown became visible on the feline's features. Realizing that this was obviously not working, she raised her tail above the water and looked at it for a few moments, before she wagged it a little to get off the excess water. She would then pick up her fishing rod and set the lure on the fishing rod. She looked at the others to see how exactly they fished with the rod, before she began to fish. She stood there for a few minutes, but didn't seem to catch one more fish. "Hm, I guess that's it then." She said, looking at the fishes she caught. It was a lot, to say the least. Maybe she could at least come in the top ten? It was just a thought anyways. She finally decided to give up and put the fishes inside a bucket. She was about to leave but, someone caught her attention. "Hm?" It was a young man, with white hair and was about the same height as someone she knew. She couldn't sense his ki, so she didnt know for sure. But, the mere fact that she couldn't sense his ki gave it away that it could be the person she thought it was. To make sure, she slowly walked over to the young man, before taking a god look at his face. "Oh? I didnt expect to see you here, Carter-san!" She said, with a bright smile visible on her face "Hm, seems you're also entered the tournament. How many fishes do you have so far? I couldn't fifty eight, but gave up after that." She said, showing him the bucket filled with fishes that she had. "So, how are you doing?" Word Count: 572

Carter was happy Jade was there, though the amount he had caught wasn't much and he hadn't even been 'fishing' exactly. It was more about knowing where the fish was and trying to hook it so as he stood there with his 38 fishes and his bait bucket still full.
"Thirty eight which I would say is pretty good for my first time fishing"
("I wouldn't call what we just did fishing...")
"Not sure what to do with them now though" He found himself staring at his feet. What should he say now?
("You could give her your fish... you still have all your bait so it would be pretty believable that you caught nothing..")
Carter wasn't sure about that, he had never done something like this before. He would have to double check the rules, though he already knew the possibility it was allowed would be low.
"Jade I was wondering.....who taught you how to fish?"
He couldn't make eye contact and his energy was fluctuating again he could feel something...was this.. His face turned red and he just nodded along to her answer.
("Behold the red cyborg. It is an extremely rare being who turns red next to a potential mate and loses all ability to function like a normal person, a far cry from its original state which would be overly talkative teenage cyborg who doesn't know how to hold his tongue")
Carter was looking over at Jade again, his mind swirling with topics. Why did he have to be so awkward why couldn't he just be himself.
"I was hoping I would see you again, I wanted to ask if we could hang out sometime, I mean if you feel like it or if you had the time...."
("You're getting better at coming close to normal around her ")
Carter's face was red and all he had asked was to hang out..why was this so hard for him? He looked into her eyes and held her hand.
"I would really appreciate it if you could find the time for me"
He found himself smiling at her and he felt the warmth of her hand and he could sense that there may be a few people looking over at them but for some reason those didn't matter. What mattered was this moment because there was no do over, this wasn't a simulation, there was only him, her and a slight aura that emanated from him as he spoke.
("Seems a little over the top but whatever")

It seemed Jade had gotten more fish than the white haired teenager. She felt good about that. But, she didn't show it. But, he didn't know what to do with the fish? Huh? A sudden look of confusion was visible on the feline's face. This made her remember the first time they met. She offered him some food, but he declined, for some reason. "Is it that you can't eat it?" She asked, in a sarcastic tone of voice. She was genuinely curious. He.. was a weird one. "Oh, I actually learnt to fish with my tail when I was young." She said, replying to his second question, after which, showing him her tail, while she spoke about how she learnt how to fish. She would place down the bucket she had and the fishing rod on the floor, as she began to engage in a conversation with the white haired teenager.
She was genuinely surprised that he was hoping to see her again. Once he asked if she could 'hang out' with him, she began to ponder to herself, rubbing a finger against her chin. As she began to think, she would realize that the teenager was.. blushing. It became awkward for the feline right then and there. She would stand there, listening to what he had to say, even after he took her hand and made eye contact. She would look at him for a few moments, before giving her response. "I- You are.. a nice guy, that's a fact. But.." She didn't expect this to be happening. She thought that it was only a 'crush' and that he would've forgotten her after they dealt with those incidents in the Pilaf Lands. She took a deep breath, before continuing. "We don't even know each other that well. But, I suppose we could hang out with each other." He was.. asking her out, right? Her cheeks went red and a slight smile was visible on her features
"But first, let me finish up." She wanted to catch at least two more fishes, to make it sixty. She wouldn't mind if Carter joined in too. She slowly removed her hand from his grasp and walked over to the end of the pier. She was planning to fish with her tail again, but something caught her attention. It was.. a bunker. It was a Tuffle Bunker, to be specific, but she knew nothing about the Tuffles. She just found it weird that it was underwater. Jade wanted to take a closer look though. But, she didn't want to go in the water. She leaned over on the edge and squinted her eyes, before falling into the water.. accidentally. Yes, she knew how to swim, thankfully. But, instead of her being angry or anything of that sort, she was laughing. Why? Because of what she saw next.
An octopus emerged from the water, which resembled a certain mammal of the same kind she knew. "Woah, you know.. you remind me of this octopus I know named Hachi. You might be related to him, I wouldn't doubt it." She said, still laughing at the thought. She would then emerge from the water, after which, hovering over to Carter, using her flight technique, pretty much soaked. "Phew, I'll.. be needing a towel. Hahaha! I slipped." She said to Carter. There were people looking at her, but she was too busy laughing to realize. "Oh, that was something. You probably don't know what I mean, but that's fine. I'm hungry, we should probably go and get something to eat, if you want." Yep, this was definitely a day she enjoyed.

Carter was interested in what Jade wanted to eat. He didn't need to eat as his core supplied him with the energy he needed but there were times when he found himself eating something more out of habit than necessity. Stella had told him that it would be better to just avoid food because that would mean going to the bathroom which he didn't have time for... apparently.
("I would like to use my Carter-listens-to-me Card, please")
"...OK."
("It's getting late so instead of going fancy, go simple instead. Get some kebabs and other fast food and show her somewhere you would usually go, that way you aren't going too heavy towards 'Hey, this is a date' and you guys get to talk.)
"Uh, OK..... why?"
("Just in case she's resigned to the thought of dating you.")
"Gee... thanks."
Carter's voice was dripping with sarcasm.
("OK, if you follow my very vague instructions, this will be the best date she's had without her even realizing that it's a date.")
"I think your insulting her intelligence."
("No I'm complimenting my own intelligence. You do want to date her, don't you?")
"Yeah... this just seems a little dubious"
("It is.")
"Oh... OK. I-uh... I agree."
He helped her out the water. She was in a good mood, he was still holding her hand as he said.
"Follow me."
Carter continued to hold her hand and led her through the streets to a stall selling ice cream. He purchased one of each flavor and jumped up to a rooftop with her in his arms. He landed soon afterand held out the ice creams.
"Which one do you prefer?"
He waited for her to make her choice and when she did he sat there for a while and said.
"I've always liked staring at the sky... it never mattered the time of day. If it were night I would look at the stars and think... A star is so symbolic of the similarities between us all and yet...we're all different made different by our decisions and the decisions of those around us."
He then looked into Jade's eyes.
"But then there is the sun larger than life and having all behold its beauty. Sharing its warmth with us during the summer and helping us see what is right in front of us."
His chest glowed as he spoke but he ignored it.
"Every action, every moment leading to another and nothing is ever strong enough to break the chain for that is what we now come to know as fate."
He held out his hand and in it was a bracelet. Little paw prints joined together to form her name and in the 'a' was a small gem...a jade to be exact.
"Here. It will keep us connected and you can keep it so you never forget, as I won't forget you."
He pointed to his glowing chest.
"Huh. I'll have you know this has never happened before but at least there's one emotion I'm sure will stay no matter how far I fall."
("Well....You're over the top and I'm not sure what the hell it is you think you're doing.")
Carter said to Stella in his head.
"Making a memory."
And with that, he was looking off at the sky again.
