The south city fishing association posted an online advertisement to uncover treasure from a ship graveyard caused by typhoons, among those treasures are lucky lures that belonged to the group after losing their fishing vessel during a massive shark attack on the main island; a story so outrageous that only local islanders believe it which is primarily the reason the posting has been ignored for sometime. The president of the fishing association, Kai, along with vice president Lamar, and Director of Operations Xanthus had been making their own expeditions at the location after the lack of interest in the job only offering discovered treasure as a reward. Every weekend the group voyaged over and for some time it caught the attention of the Tea Princess who had been delivering supplies to her recently purchased private island. Every time they crossed paths at sea, she would witness them fighting each other without restraint, there was blood on the wooden deck of their ship, and she was becoming concerned after a while. Clove flew over to their ship, introducing herself with a smile, and asked why they were fighting. After tending their wounds, they explained that their attempts to scuba dive to retrieve goods from their lost fishing vessel had been a failure due to the underwater sea monsters that live in the ship graveyard; each one had their own strategy for retrieving their lucky lures which failed and they resorted to fighting each other to come up with a new plan. It was perplexing to think that these young men were only capable of ideas by being physical with one another. Clove was aware how long they have been coming out here and she felt pity for them offering to help them. “You really mean it?” Kai who wore a black and yellow jacket with a lemur tucked in the front pocket smiled, “We have nothing to offer apart from keeping any treasure you might find.” “Thanks, Lady.” Lamar rubbed the tip of his nose with his injured hand, unable to meet her eyes from embarrassment of being unable to uncover his lucky lure himself. “Please be careful not to hurt the sea creatures below the sea.” Xanthus implored, his voice sounded bubbly as he spoke, but it was coherent.
“Of course.” Clove began to untie her obi, she had no desire to get her silk designer kimono wet with salt water, and she had been prepared to meet the ocean in a black bikini that she wore underneath as she carefully undressed.

Zaru wished that Burgen had just shared this posting with him the first time the clod had seen it; how could he not be interested? He wasn’t exactly an expert on fishing, that was true, mostly because he hadn’t ever actually been fishing. Still, what did that matter? This wasn’t something you could get with a rod and some string. It was going to be a challenge, something that tested the physical and mental limits, maybe, and hermit knew he could stand to have a challenge these days. He’d spent so long just relaxing and trying to reconnect that he’d almost forgotten what it was to throw himself into the heat of something again. At this rate, he’d drive himself stir crazy in that old house he was using.
The bald martial artist floated down from the sky above, touching down as he landed on the edge of the ship, standing normally on top of the railing. He’d been close enough to mostly overhear what had been going on, and enough to see the fighting. It seemed like the three fishermen had this as their solution for ideas - whoever won the fight clearly had the brightest idea, or he wouldn’t have won. Zaru could tell why they were fishermen, rather than anything else. Not that he could do much, he made his living by hitting things.
”You’re the guys that need your lures back, huh?” He wasn’t really bothered by a lack of payment; sure, he’d maybe find some half-decent treasure or something down there, but he was doing this for its own sake. Besides, doing these guys a favour wasn’t entirely a bad thing either. All that time he’d spent on the islands really had softened him up, huh? Now he was about to go deep-sea diving as a favour for some strangers on a boat.
Zaru hopped off the railing on one end of the boat, simply walking past the fishermen to the end where Clove stood. He stuck one foot up on the railing there and peered down towards the water, seeming curious before he glanced over towards her. ”What do those lures look like, anyway? They pretty obvious?” Zaru had enough of an ability when it came to sensing Ki that the girl here probably had just as much as he had, though hers flowed like crazy in comparison. At least, that’s how it felt from here.
”Zaru, by the way.” He realised he wasn’t really going to be able to introduce himself when they were underwater, so it was best to start now.

Meanwhile, it seemed a shape was approaching the vessel at a leisurly pace. It was a humanoid shape, the black spots on it's skin being the only thing keeping it from just melding amongst the sea's blue. As it got closer, it seemed it was some sort of bug... thing. Well, it was definitely not human, that was for sure. As it approached the railing, it looked up at all the people gathered there and waved at them "Wow, pretty cool ship you got there. This place is full of surprises. So, what are you guys doing?" it asked without hesitation, seeming quite curious from the look of things
Baccer had been having a blast on his little trip to the islands thus far, it was the firt time he'd taken a "vacation" of some sort, and new stuff kept popping up behind every corner. From casual fishing, to fights to the death. Anything was better than more tests. And now it seemed he'd stumbled upon a new discovery. Ohh, these were always so fun. He had to admit however, the people in front of him were an... odd bunch. Baccer didn't know humans could also have exoskeletons "whoa. Sir, where is your hair. Do you also have carapace instead of skin?" the bugboy asked, his naivete ensuring that such a thing as "common courtesy" still eluded him "And what is with the lady?. Did she get into a fight?. Why are her clothes all torn up?" He inquired to the bikini-clad woman, ever curious about the world around him

Post by Vidar (PROJECT: RAGNAROK) on Jul 4, 2020 15:04:41 GMT -8
The South City Fishing Association, the name was familiar to Vidar. He had helped them with a previous job, after all; it was on this job that he met Riku, the Cyborg Samurai. The memories of that trip still stay fresh in the young blonde cyborg's mind. Whenever he closes his eyes, he thinks about it; it had been a simple job, help the small port town for a few hours, by going out on a fishing trolley and bringing as much fish back as possible, in order to avoid the city from drowning, or going bankrupt. After all, it was a port town, they relied on the fishing industry, and the entire fisherman's union had gone on strike.
Everything had been quite normal, at first; the two cyborgs had agreed to go on the job, and upon heading out, away from port, they settled for several hours of fishing. Well, at least for Vidar, he settled for several hours of learning how to fish. He was a quick learner, he and Riku managed to pull several massive fish out of the ocean. Then everything changed, everything went wrong, and nothing made sense after that.
The storm hit hard. The fishing trolley was lost to the waves. The crew was swept away. Vidar managed to save the cyborg samurai from an early grave, and they wound up on an island that should not exist; an island that did not exist on any map. Strange islands, anomalous fish creatures, and non-euclidian temples of alien geometries, it was all part of that little adventure.
Now, there they were again, asking for help once more. The South City Fishing Association had another job. This time it had to do with a ship graveyard possibly littered with lost treasures. He had little use for lost treasures, but it would be a perfect opportunity to test out Dr. Kringle's final upgrades to his body; reinforced internal construction as well as a built-in rebreather back-up system which would allow him to deep dive without need of scuba equipment, although it was always a good idea to take it anyway just in case of a malfunction. He did not need to be stuck at the bottom of the ocean without a way to generate oxygen for himself.
He spoke with a representative of the Fishing Association; a young man by the name of Sal who met him on the dock. He was tall, lanky, with big round glasses that slid down the length of his nose which caused him to constantly push them up. His cheeks were splashed with freckles and when Vidar walked up to him, the young man gave him a once over with his eyes as if he were surprised by what he was seeing; the blonde with his strange yellow eyes and black sclera did stand out.
"You'll meet everyone out on the water. I could loan you a boat to meet up with them out there, if you need one."
"There's no need." Vidar peered out to the ocean then turned back to Sal, "Is there anything in particular that you are searching for?"
"There are Lucky Lures; it's weird, I know. But supposedly they're hard to get a hold of and there's a sunken boat out there with a lot of them. And if you happen to find any other lost treasure, I'll gladly take it off your hands as well."
"Is there anything I should know?"
"Uh, well, full disclosure, there are some undersea creatures, monsters I guess you can call them, cryptids some have taken to calling them, that may pose a threat. Which is why we were hoping for those with super abilities? Or, well those with the proper equipment to deal with them or the knowledge on how to deal with them to ...well, deal with them. We've had several attempts at retrieving the treasures but those things down there are making it almost impossible to get anything done."
So, more anomalous sea beasts. He would make sure to record anything and everything that he saw while out there. "What are the coordinates for the meeting point?"
The young man gave him the coordinates and he memorized them, adding them to his data banks. "I will return with whatever I find." With that, his feet left the ground and he took off in the direction of the ship.
It did not take him long to locate the ship, following the coordinates, and as he arrived he saw that several others had arrived as well. He dropped out of the sky and landed silently atop the ship's deck not far from the others.
"I take it that you are here to locate treasure." He spoke in a flat matter of fact tone, peering at each person that had arrived before him; from Clove, whom Vidar did not know, to Zaru, whom he somewhat knew or at least was knowledgeable of, and Baccer. His eyes traced over each one of them, his bright yellow eyes taking on an almost soft golden glow as his HUD kicked into gear.
CREATE FILE...?...Y/N... Y... FILE CREATED. File Named TREASURE HUNT.
His yellow eyes scanned over the group, his internal scanners taking all of their measurements, images of the group, video and audio records of them and their voices, as all the pertinent data was added to the files.
"I remember you." He peered at Zaru, "You were at that Oasis, in the Inheritor Tournament, to be a protege to Kiryu." That was good, someone that he sort of knew, or at the very least, someone that he recognized. He somewhat wished that Riku was there; the Cyborg Samurai would have been a very reassuring individual to have around if they were going to deal with anomalous sea beasts once more. Perhaps, this time, he would be able to study the creatures a bit more rather than have to kill them.
Or perhaps, if they were lucky, they wouldn't encounter them.

Kai was elated to see that people had finally answered their advertisement, he raised a hand behind the back of his neck to rub nervously as he explained everything from the beginning to everyone who arrived at their vessel, and he did his best to keep it short.
“Several boats were ripped up from port after a massive shark arrived at the coast of south city, one of the boats was ours, the lures glow under water and are in the shape of a fish. Inside each of them are small shards which attract the biggest of fish so hopefully they are still inside our old boat. We haven’t been able to dive nearby without getting attacked by the sea life there, it’s almost as if they’re guarding that area...actually.” He shook his head, “We appreciate the help! Best of luck.”
Clove was curious about the shards inside the lures, until she saw one up close she would have surmised that they were potentially dragon ball shards, and it would explain why sea creatures were attracted to the lures in the first place. Apart from Zaru who greeted her and introduced himself, the two arrivals did not mention their names, and one of them which looked like an insect asked where the rest of her clothes were.
“My name is Clove Tea, nice to meet you, Zaru-San.” She bowed her head slightly, which was common to people from the West and East, and in rare occasions martial artists. Looking at Baccer and Vidar she offered a gentle wave of her hand. “Greetings.”
While this was the first time Clove met everyone, to Baccer her ki signature would be most familiar to him, after meeting her younger sister Juniper Tea in battle, the signature reading was quite similar to each other as siblings from their distinctive hair color and demonic red eyes which only appeared to Hachiko.
Xanthus looked over to Baccer who wondered about his race, the antennae on his forehead shifted for a moment before he answered the lad’s curious questions. “I am half human and half sea monster. If I had a carapace for skin I wouldn’t be wearing clothes. Have you been to south city beach? There are more of my kind there and everyone is typically dressed like we are, males often do not wear shirts, and women are commonly dressed like her.” He motioned over to Clove, “I recommend you visit that beach sometime, as most islanders wear the same clothing.”
The Tea princess stepped over the rail of the bulwark, seconds from diving before Kai flailed his hands to draw her attention with a sense of panic.
“The ships are on the deep end of the ocean floor. We have equipment for you all to use that will help you breathe and communicate with each other under water. You will need them to avoid the sea creatures below. Trust me.”
Lamar brought over mesh crates of equipment, there was enough for everyone to use, including wetsuits, and diver fins. “If you need help putting anything on, let me know” He could barely make eye contact with anyone, he seemed bothered by the idea of getting help for his problems, and was forcing himself to speak.
“Alright.” Clove chuckled, “I will trust you, Kai-kun.”
Out of the equipment she browsed through, she chose the single air tank pack, scuba mask, and fins. Clove’s demon blood would have allowed her to withstand the cold depth of the ocean so she did not have any need to wear the wet suit which was common to humans. Crimson eyes looked over to Zaru, he looked quite human, and just before everyone arrived they were both about to dive in without any equipment which meant he was more than ordinary.
The air tank was secured like a back pack with a strap across her chest and abdomen to secure both shoulder straps and the tank.
“Test, test.” Clove was checking the sound inside the full face scuba mask.
“Actually you have to press the button located here to activate the voice communicator.” Lamar reached over to Clove to press a button near the joint of her jaw closest to her exposed earlobe. “Just remember that when you resurface from the bottom of the ocean to slowly make your way back up in order for your body to stabilize from the pressure. This is a precaution for everyone, as long as blood flows through your veins, it’s dangerous to resurface too quickly.”

Zaru’s gaze was drawn away from the ocean floor as he heard another voice nearby, and turned to see what looked like a...bug? It wasn’t the oddest creature he’d seen around, but most beastmen appeared like some kind of mammal, and Serujins were probably the most standout as being different amongst them, so it was kind of crazy to see. He looked a little dumbfounded as he stared towards Baccer, trying to figure out what he was before his expression quickly returned to looking blank and bored; he didn’t like the idea of being expressive that much anyway, especially not in front of a bunch of strangers.
”The fishermen here lost their lures in the ocean, so we’re gonna look for ‘em. Probably pretty far down, so I figured the challenge of the pressure would be good practice. You want in?” He didn’t exactly say what it would be good practice for, but Zaru wasn’t eager to give away any impression of him being a goodie-two-shoes, going around and helping random people. That wasn’t the rep he needed, even with this bug guy. ”What, my head? Shave it. I look worse with hair, trust me.” This was the one rule the geezer implemented that he was fine with. He wasn’t going to have the old lady ruffling any hair on his head anymore, and he didn’t have to worry about how stupid it looked.
Zaru didn’t understand what Baccer was getting at first when he talked about the girl, until he mentioned her clothes being torn up. He rubbed the bridge of his nose for a moment, trying to think of why he’d even ask, but figured that if these were insect beastmen, they...probably didn’t even do clothes anyway, right? ”Pretty sure she just doesn’t want to get her robes wet. Mine’ll dry out, anyway.” It wasn’t like he didn’t have copies of these same robes back at the house, anyway. Or in that old place in the Southlands. He had to go back and give the place a look over, while he was at it.
He didn’t even hear Vidar land; if he hadn’t been looking in the right place, he wouldn’t have noticed the cyborg approaching at all. That was the thing about artificial energy, it just forced him to keep on his toes. He couldn’t assume he’d be able to just sense someone’s ki, and that was that, no more getting snuck up. Even ignoring the idea of someone suppressing their ki until a critical moment, cyborgs and androids, he couldn’t really feel at all. Zaru leaned back against the railing of the boat as he looked to Vidar, curious about the turnout this little errand had managed to bring.
”Yeah, that’s me. Zaru. I remember you, too. Never really got a chance to have a match, so we’ll have to do that sometime.” There was an eagerness to his tone, even as his expression kept that same blankness. He was curious about fighting another cyborg, especially one that seemed a lot more….complete than Riku, anyway. Riku had busted him up something fierce when they’d fought, and that was him not even using a sword. This guy could take dismemberment no problem from what Zaru recalled, so it’d only be a bigger challenge. He supposed he should focus on the task at hand, though.
When the equipment came over, he tried getting the tank on, and the strap wouldn’t properly attach, not with his robe in the way. Eventually, he let out a sigh of defeat. ”Fine.” He dumped the tank to take off the top of his robes, gently tossing it to one of the crewmen. ”Don’t lose it.” Zaru had bulked up during his time on the islands, even compared to the Inheritors tournament. The crescent-shaped scar on his chest and the long one extending down his back felt...obvious, now. It was odd, but he felt a little insecure about them, almost. Why? He cursed himself for being such a blouse about it as he affixed on the mask and air tank, figuring that it was better than having to hold his breath. He tested the communication device on it, which seemed to work fine for now. When one of the crewmen offered a wetsuit and flippers, he just put his hand up. ”I’m good. You don’t have to worry about me.” Even if he knew his...physiology wasn’t exactly up to par with the rest here, his control over ki and his training would keep him comfortable and alive; he was more than confident in that.

The bugboy was learning so much today. From the fact that humans could cut their hair to the realisation they didn't want their clothes to get wet. The sea was truly a strange place wasn't it?. If he didn't know better he'd say that humans were afraid of water. He wasn't though. Swimming was such a relaxed and fun activity, and he wasn't really scared of sharks anyway. If they met a bigger sea moster they might actually have some fun.
The bio-android's eyes widened as he haw a metallic man land on the ship. He'd seen a couple of those in the red ribbon. They were called "androids". Which, from the academic knowledge programmed into him, was a completely innacurate term. "Hey, sir. Umm... are you a cyborg?" the bugboy asked, using the correct terminology. Without waiting for an answer, it climbed up into the ship and looked at everyone. He was starting to feel left out by being the only one hovering on the sea's surface. Thus this intrusive gesture. But then again, seemingly everyone was climbing on that ship, so he wasn't doing anything out of place
Once Baccer got informed of what they were doing here, he nodded thoughtfully "So you guys want to dive down and retrieve some lures?. That sounds fun, i haven't really tried diving too deep yet" he said, looking down at the deep blue sea below him. Well, this seemed like quite the adventure he got himself into. A group of new people to meet and talk to, and a deep sea "treasure". Ohh, he could hardly wait
And thus, he didn't. These people seemed strong, but exactly how strong?. There was only one way to find out "welp, last one down there is a... a... umm... sorry, they didnt really teach me analogies back at RR... Just don't be last ok?" the blue bug said awkwardly, before diving into the water, beginning to swim downward as fast as he could. His superior biology gave him an advantage in this environment. Plus, he could use his wings to propel himself even harder. Let's see if any of these people could keep up... or at least that was the idea, but since Baccer didn't know what "diving gear" was, he didn't realise they might need a bit more time to start, and wouldn't just jump on behind him like he naively expected

There were so many people on the boat now; from Zaru - the bald fighter whom Vidar had some knowledge of - to the strange energetic bug-like creature, and then there was Clove. He did not know Clove. Then again, he did not know any of them except for Zaru and he only knew him by name and appearance, he did not know the man personally. He never got to face him in the ring; he fought Riku, the cyborg Samurai, and he thoroughly trounced Vidar no matter how hard the blonde tried. That defeat had really set in stone something that Vidar had been attempting to ignore from the moment that he was awoken down in Doctor Kringle's hidden lab; that being, specifically, that he was not ready. He was not strong enough. He had been created by the good doctor as a bulkwark for the world, a fighter, a protector, a guardian, and yet he had never been fully road tested, he had been experimented on, thrown into simulations, but never thrown out into the real world and pitted against a real opponent.
Vidar had fought so hard to prove himself only to be slapped down to the harsh reality that Hebihime had attempted to explain to him; if he went out there, he would be destroyed. And destroyed he almost was; he had lost a limb during that battle. One particularly powerful blow from Riku had managed to tear his cybernetic limb to pieces. Rebuilding his arm had taken some time, but he managed to do it; he only wished that he had managed to find a scientist capable of building him an upgraded limb. Well, perhaps one day he will.
Still, back to the matter at hand, he had arrived on the boat. His landing had made no sound, and he gave off no detectable energy. He stood out like a sore thumb in the fact that he did not stand out at all. To anyone not used to cyborgs, it would have felt as if he wasn't there at all despite whatever their eyes were telling them to the contrary. He was, for lack of a better analogy, no more than a piece of furniture with arms and legs in that they could see him, acknowledge his existence through their eyes, but could not sense him.
They were there for a simple task, or at least as simple as the task sounded like on paper; they were going to dive deep into the ocean and retrieve some missing lures.
Zaru had spoken up, commenting his desire to one day take the blonde on in a fight. That did sound intriguing to Vidar, he had to admit, "I hope that we do." He said and he bowed his head somewhat, "I never formally introduced myself," his tone was somewhat apologetic even if still slightly flat, "Doctor Kringle would be bothered if he were here..." The white haired man would have disciplined him for his rudeness, "My name is Vidar." He said this, not just to Zaru but to everyone still aboard the boat, as he used this as a simple mass introduction to them all before one of the crew members approached with some diving equipment.
"Wear this, you'll be going in deep," The crewman held the equipment up for him to wear, "Do you need help putting this stuff on?"
"That would be appreciated." He removed his shirt, not because he didn't care for it getting wet, but because he wanted a bit more freedom of movement. He kept his pants on, of course. He took the communication device, the mask, and slipped it on. He did not need the tank of oxygen, "I am fine without it. Doctor Kringle saw fit to fit me with a rebreather," he patted his chest wherein the device was implanted. "I should be able to dive to the ocean floor and retrieve the lures with just the communication equipment."
The crewman stared, somewhat dumbfounded, but he did notice the cybernetic augmentations, the artificial limbs, the blend of artificial and organic that made up his torso. The cyborg was far more equipped to deep dive into the ocean's blackness than a normal human diver ever would be. "Alright," The man nodded then he watched as Baccer leapt into the ocean without a care in the world.
"These lures, they are in a specific boat," The cyborg questioned one of the crew, "is that correct?"
"The lures are scattered throughout the wreckage, yes. You'll see them, they'll be hard to miss. There's a whole ship graveyard down there, but the ones that look as if they hadn't been sitting down there for a few decades will be the ones you need to search. So, find the newest looking wrecks and peer about."
The idea of going down to the bottom of the ocean did not bother him, and as he turned to the others who were joining him, Clove, Zaru, Baccer was already in the water, Vidar nodded, "If anything were to appear, I will deal with it. My body can withstand the pressures of the deep ocean; I am sure I can handle a sea monster." After all, he has already handled anomalous fish men and hideous 'gods' of the sea before, why wouldn't he be able to deal with an oversized fish now?
Turning to the water, he swiftly and deftly jumped up onto the railing then leapt into the water below. The water engulfed him, and before he even fully submerged beneath the water, his eyes began to take on a bright warm golden glow as his scanners activated.
SCANNERS....ACTIVATED... DEEP SEA SCANNERS....ACTIVATED... LOW LIGHT SCANNERS....ACTIVATED...
His yellow eyes scanned beneath the water, able to see beneath the depths as easily as one could see above on dry land, data streaming down in his peripheral vision as he activated recording devices as well. He wanted to get as much data recorded as possible for future reference.
He spotted Baccer and shot through the water after him. He did not have the flippers, nor did he need them. His feet propelled him forward through the water as he was quickly catching up to the energetic bug boy.

It was a surprise to see that a curious insect boy who asked so many questions, failed to state his name, and was the first to dive in the water in their search to find the lures underwater; he even challenged them all to race to the sea floor. In his innocence, he still seemed capable despite the lack of ki signature, and he would notice that no one followed after him at least not immediately while they were outfitting themselves properly to dive. The blonde, gold iris and black sclera eyed cyborg introduced himself to the Tea Princess, she offered a slight head bow in response, and she spoke with a calm regal tone.
“Clove Tea, it is nice to meet you Vidar.”
Once they were prepared for their expedition, Clove went head in the water with her back turned to submerge the tank first, and as soon as she found her equilibrium, she turned to swim after the others, using part of her ki to practically speed through the darkness catching up to Vidar, and Baccer. The special scuba face cover had tiny LED lights illuminate the depths of the ocean, additional lights activated on the shoulder straps of the tank, and the wreckage of boats at the bottom of the ocean were in view.
As soon as they drew near, a large group of eels with red eyes watched, their bodies were large enough to swallow a person whole, yet they were not immediately hostile, but by the way they were entangled between the wreckage of ships this was their home. Xanthus emplored them not to hurt the creatures, it was not part of the job to go against nature in this scenario, but to simply find the lures. Clove pressed the button on her scuba mask to communicate with the others.
“Let’s circle the perimeter away from the eels, when we spot their ship, we must act fast enough as a group, with one team retrieving the lures, while the other team distracts the eels long enough for all of us to resurface. Remember, we are not eel hunting here, we’re just getting the lures and any treasure we might find. Got it?”
Clove waited for everyone to approve her plan, there was room for adjustments, and now it was a matter of splitting off into groups. With Baccer being the most eager in finding the lures she figured she should help him look while Zaru and Vidar distracted the eels. “Hey kid, you are with me. Zaru and Vidar will distract the eels as soon as we spot the ship. Do you see it? It should have less algae sticking to the structure to be recent.”
While the insect-like android was not equipped with the same gear as the rest of the group, she hoped she could still hear her over the radio frequency for the instructions, she gestured with her hands, her index and middle finger formed a V which she pointed into her own eyes over the face mask, and then pointed at the wreckage, the light illuminated the green algae, and the eels coming out windows of ships watched menacingly as they kept their distance from the epicenter of their nest.

Zaru was still very curious about the others there, but he knew it’d look like he was some dope if he asked constant questions. The bug guy seemed almost to be like a kid, so if he was, then he had a pass on asking things that seemed obvious to anyone else. At least, from what the martial artist could tell, he was small and sounded young enough. From his energy, he was a real powerful kid, but he’d heard of beastmen and ‘monsters’ who had a natural power that came to them, so if he was that sort, it made sense. The mention of ‘RR’ did pique his interest, even if he did his best not to show it. Did he mean the same place that had created the old lady, at least as she currently was? Maybe he wasn’t just some regular bug beastman after all, but if that was the case, what was he? Zaru had never been able to detect the old lady or the old man’s energy, so he could only assume that the same was true for most androids. Hell, Vidar over there was a cyborg and he couldn’t detect him at all - he assumed that was because the same rules applied, but he couldn’t really know. Wait, wasn’t the old lady technically also a cyborg, then? He was brought out of his thoughts when Baccer simply leaped into the water and said not to be last. Zaru stared at first, but was quick to follow when Clove went in the water after him. He supposed he didn’t want to be last, so he quickly dived in before Vidar had. Despite how cold the water would be to a normal person, it actually felt kind of nice around him; his ki always heated him up significantly, so it was easy enough to do that without any real effort. Actually swimming his way down wasn’t as hard as he’d thought - especially when Clove said that he should do what he assumed was the easier job. How hard could it be to deal with some eels? Upon actually approaching, he realised what the problem was. They were giant eels. He supposed that he should have been actually listening, that was probably mentioned at some point. Still, Clove mentioned that there was no eel hunting. So, no hurting or killing them, just pissing them off. Well, he was good at that. As they approached the actual wreckage, Zaru realised that the nest itself was massive, and that they’d need at least some of this cleared out before Clove and Baccer could get into whatever ship it was proper, or at least search the most likely candidates. ”Hey, Vidar. Seems like there’s about half of them on this end of the nest, from what I’m sensing. I’ll take this half.” To him, the job would be made far, far easier if their two searchers didn’t have to worry about the eels at all. Really, he wanted to just fry them and be done with it, but if they’d agreed not to hurt them, he didn’t have any way out of that. Instead, Zaru floated above his half of the eels, and extended a hand out towards them. Ki began charging in his open palm like he was about to send a powerful beam their way, and the ki continued to glow, brighter and brighter. More of them began to look up at him in some kind of confusion, or at least trying to figure out if he was a threat. Suddenly, his ki glowed far more brightly, and it began flashing, the lights intended to irritate the eyes of the eels; at the very least, get them all sorts of mad. It seemed that his ploy had worked. Slowly, his ki disappeared and stopped glowing, but he saw many eels rushing from the windows of ships, spotting him and rushing upwards through the water like a mass of wriggling arms. ”Come and get me already, stupid fish.” He suddenly rapidly moved down through the water, avoiding the snapping jaws of one eel as it rushed towards him, passing over the top of him and continuing to move forward. He quickly had to rush again, shooting upwards to avoid the second. They were coming at him much faster than he’d expected, and seemed to be trying to move in tandem to trap him; maybe they weren’t that stupid of fish after all.

Baccer continued his mad dash towards the bottom of the sea, seeming to be enjoying swimming, even if he was quite the amateur. Luckily, being injected with the DNA of several exceptional warriors allowed him to have an excellent sense of coordination. Thus, making him quite the apt swimmer. Unfortunately, the Bugman seemed to have forgotten a crucial detail about his plan: He really didn't have any idea where he was going. Thus, once he could see the bottom of the ship, he turned around and came to a sudden stop, using his wings to bring himself to a stop faster. Welp, he was here... but where was "here". Eh, there would be more than enough time to figure out such trivial things. It seemed the rest of the diving crew also arrived. While they were seemingly devising a strategy, the bio-android looked around for the place he was supposed to be headed in.
Due to his lack of comms, he couldn't understand the finer details of their conversation. But eventually, the woman seemingly in charge tried to get his attention. What was her name again? Clove tea?... Wait... tea... The Bugman's eyes widened, causing him to try to exclaim something... which mostly sounded like gibberish underwater. Luckily, he was attentive enough to realise she wanted him to follow her and simply nodded. Hmm, guess it could wait. After all, there was ship wreckage to explore here. Hmm, maybe this one was manned by pirates in the past. Eh, one could hope

His scanners were high tech pieces of equipment; his eyes gave off that warm golden glow that pierced through the darkness even as the blonde cyborg slid deeper and deeper into the darkness of the ocean. It was rather odd for any onlooker; they would spot the bright lights which were built into the face mask that he wore, but they would also notice two more glowing lights. If they did not know any better, they would think that perhaps his mask had more lights attached to it than the others, but it was actually his eyes.
The world beneath the waves would be dark and uninviting to anyone who did not have the low light and no dark vision that he was built with; to him it looked as bright beneath the waves as it was above the waves with the sun washing down over him. The scanners allowing him to see into the depths. Far below he could see the various wrecks.
There were so many ships down there. Some were lost due to storms. Some were lost due to man-made sinking to turn into coral reefs for the wildlife. Some, however, were lost due to animal attacks; he already spotted their target. It was hard to miss; all the other wrecks were visibly older. Their hulls were fully covered in thick coats of algae, seaweed, coral, and many inches of thick undersea mud. But, this particular wreck, had only just begun to be overtaken by the sea.
The sudden voice in his ear gave him a half second's pause, but he listened. It was Clove. She was giving them instructions; Baccer had gone ahead, and she was attempting to tell him what they had to do since he jumped into the water before being able to listen to any of the necessary information. It appeared that Vidar and Zaru were going to have to work to distract the eels in order to give Clove and Baccer the opportunity to search the wrecked ship for the missing lures.
That made sense.
They did not have to kill the eels. They just had to make sure they were good and distracted long enough for the others to slip in unnoticed, grab the lures, and slip out. No harm, no foul. And it appeared that Zaru had already gotten somewhat ahead of him; he had been so busy attempting to collect as much data as possible that he had slowed down somewhat in his swimming towards the ocean's floor. His eyes scanning and sweeping, collecting as much data of the environment around him as possible to be saved and archived for future reference. He was even recording everything he was seeing underwater, again for future archival and reference if needed.
Zaru spoke up next, telling him that they would split up, he would take half of the eels and Vidar the other half. The blonde cyborg nodded, but since he needed to actually respond, he pushed the small button on the side of the mask, "Affirmative," he replied and made his way to the other side of the nest. There were many eels there as well, peeking in and out of their little burrows as if they were expecting visitors; their mouths somewhat open, revealing large needle-like teeth, also as if they were expecting visitors.
He could not attack the eels directly, that could harm them. His eyes were scanning over the nest, each eel that peeked its head out of its burrow was identified, his scanners pinpointing it as he then spotted another and another. As the numbers grew, the difficulty also increased. He would have to do this as carefully as possible, to avoid damaging both the eels and having them harm him.
The plan that Zaru had implemented seemed to work. The eels were going after him, vacating their nest. That would have to be the plan for Vidar as well. Raising his hands over his head, he allowed energy to begin to collect over his palms. The crackling glowing energy sphere growing from the size of a small coin to the size of a large melon rather quickly, expanding under the water and unleashing pulses of flickering light that quickly grew to flashes of bright light that pierced the veil of darkness that covered the ocean depths that surrounded them all.
It worked like a strobe, the flickering light radiating from the glowing energy sphere hovering just inches above the cyborg's head. It was doing the trick, however, as the eels peered out of their little burrows and peered up at the source of the light. It flashed in their eyes causing them to duck back into their burrows only to peer back out once more as if to see if the light had gone away. But it had not, and it was getting aggravating. The creatures soon had enough and lunged out of their burrows towards him. They moved with incredible speed and as soon as they began to swarm, the cyborg lowered his arms, allowing the energy sphere to shrink somewhat but continue to pulse its bright irritating light.
The first of the creatures shot at him, its mouth wide open, its rows of massive teeth intent on sinking into the source of the bright light, or at least onto the nearest thing possible which just happened to be Vidar at the moment.
A quick burst of speed allowed him to move out of its path, the whole slithering body, gaping jaws and all, slid past like a submarine in the darkness and then he could see from his peripheral vision that it was making a sharp turn in order to swing back around and try again, much like an angered bull following the red cape of a matador.
More of the eels followed suit, one after another they surged out of their burrows towards him, snapping at the sphere of energy, snapping at him, as he ducked and weaved out of their way. More than once their slick wriggling bodies slid up against him as they shot past.
The haphazard plan was working. All he had to do now, was keep their attention on him long enough for Baccer and Clove to search the wreck of the ship and find those missing lures.

Zaru and Vidar were excellent at distracting the eels by coaxing them to leave the openings of the ship graveyard rubble, in that time Clove snuck into one of the holes to search for the lures. In a matter of seconds she emerged with a simple metal case, which she tied to a strap of her oxygen tank, it had an engraved capsule corp logo without any wear or damage from being submerged in water, as it was made from the finest material known to earth. Crimson eyes watched Baccer wander around, it seemed he was unable to hear her instructions, so she took his hand to dive into the next opening, it would be faster to work in pairs to find the lures in the bridge of every ship while uncovering any valuables along the way as payment for their combined efforts.
After searching several ships, for a couple of minutes, the lures were not found, until coming across an upside down boat, on the side of the boat was the seal for the South City Fishing Association, and with a tight grip of the teenager’s hand, they swam into the vessel, completely surrounded by the body of an eel with a glowing blue stripe pattern. The tea princess slowly approached further into its clutches, discovering the lures piled in front of its visage, and the glow of the lures revealed that the eel had become so overweight it was tightly wedged within the hull of the ship. The overweight eel allowed a single opening for its prey to approach the lures in order to eat anything that neared its mouth, but was otherwise immobilized in its method of attracting food.
It was obvious that if they neared the lures they would be immediately swallowed, Clove would have survived something like that, but it required that she punctured the intelligent sea monster and end its life needlessly in exchange for fishing equipment. With a limited amount of time, her second thought was to break the eel free from the ship, and distract it enough to snatch them up. Since Baccer could not hear her underwater, she used her hand to motion him grabbing the lures by pointing at him and then the three glowing glass blown fish with embedded shards. The second hand gesture was a fist, typical to any soldier or trained combatant to ‘hold’ and wait for her mark as she pointed at herself, the eel, and a small part of the ship that was uncovered. Slowly, she began to swim back the way they came, still holding a fist at Baccer for him to hold his position. The light from her breathing mask and the top of her shoulders began to fade, the bio android was completely surrounded in darkness, with only the glow from the lures visible, and a light hint of the eel’s luminescent blue stripes on its dark scaled body.
Clove placed her hands on the keel of the boat, channeling her ki energy towards her fingertips, the wood began to splinter throughout, and she fired a concentrated ki blast within the spine of the ship’s hull causing the entire structure to shatter to pieces. The overweight eel unraveled itself from the confines of its shell. The light of Clove’s mask was now shining over the lures for a second until the eel opened its gaping mouth at her, swallowing half of her body as it swam up to the surface in an attempt to wiggle her further into its mouth as she resisted his bite by holding its jaws open with her demonic strength. In a brief second, she released its jaw long enough to punch the roof of its mouth to release her, and she swam out of the way. However, it did not give up chase, it kept on swimming until it reached the surface of the ocean, and Clove was forced to take flight.
The eel contracted its muscle cells to create a current of electricity, a lightning blue zap closed the gap between them, it was a static shock of epic proportions, and the tea princess had no choice but to deflect half of the damage with her palms extended out channeling the rest into a nearby sandbar, the sand immediately sprouted glass shaped into a coral reef covering the entire sand mass. The behemoth returned to the ocean depths, giving up the chase, in order to hone in on the lures again.

Baccer honestly felt kinda useless in this sort of situation. Clove was the one to deal with the giant eel. She was definitely in an advantage, the fact she could levitate at will meaning she could move about the water with much more ease than him, who still relied on conventional swimming techniques. However, as the eel decided to chase her upwards, the bugman saw his chance. He dashed ahead and approached the vessel, occasionally glancing up to check on the pursuit of the ell. Luckily, the fact a certain tea princess was keeping it occupied was more than enough for the bugman to swoop in and get the lures
Pleased with himself, the bio-android left the wreckage and looked up, trying to find a way to transport them into the surface... right as the eel started to come back down and noticed him. Baccer realised this situation was anything but good, especially since the eel seemed to notice him and head for his direction. He tried to play it cool at first, backing away slowly as to not aggrevate it further. However, since the creature seemed to not have any intention of stopping, the only choice remaining for him was to turn tail and spring into a mad dash underwater. Now his situation split into two very distinct challenges: escape the eel without killing it, and bring the lures back to the ship without leading the eel right to them. Man, this shaped out to be quite exciting

The eels were persistent. Vidar had to give them that much. There were so many of them; he had been tasked with keeping half of the nest distracted after all, Zaru was taking on the other half. And, in terms of keeping them distracted, the blonde cyborg was doing somewhat of a good job. The massive fishes were growing more agitated as time went on, however. They were snapping at him, whipping through the water at incredible speed, their slithering bodies moving with a supernatural fluidity and grace that made them quite the sight to behold, but also an annoyance to keep track of. There were dozens of them; they did not fully leave their caves, their burrows, however most of their bodies did slip out into the water, and they'd snap out at him and then recoil back only to then attempt once again to snap at the man's body. They wanted to get a hold of him, of his arm, his leg, whatever body part they could, but also they were snapping at the glowing bright ball of energy that he had created, that he had projected, to catch their attention.
One of them swept past him underwater, he could feel the writhing body as it slid up against him, then it yanked back.
He had to dodge another one, this one almost got too close to him. It's massive maw snapped by, overhead, as he allowed his body to drop several feet in order to avoid the incoming creature. He then performed a swift barrel roll to the side to avoid another.
That is when one of the eels managed to hit him. It wasn't a bite, he didn't get bitten. However, the creature managed to sweep up close, leaving its cave, and the tail of it struck Vidar with such force that he was sent tumbling head over heels through the water. He was shot down toward the ocean floor, even deeper than he had been a few seconds ago, and right behind him were the angry eels, mouths open, teeth exposed and their eyes shining.
WARNING. WARNING. WARNING. PRESSURE RISING.
The alarms inside of his head were screaming. His HUD was throwing alarms at him from all sides. The pressure on his body was great, but he could handle that. What was a bigger threat for him, were the eels. One of them managed to ram into him, sending him into a coral outcropping. He struck the side with a good deal of force, cracking the barrier reef and sending up a wall of dirt into the air around him.
He sensed something; he sensed energy. It was Clove. She had used a small bit of energy; he could not see what she was doing but he could feel the spike of energy coming from her direction. His sensors kicked in, cutting through the din of the dirt that was floating in the water around him, he caught sight of the monstrous eel that was chasing the woman out of the water. Due to his low light vision, he could see clear as day as the woman fled the beast and then, after she managed to evade its capture, the creature spun about and went after the strange bug boy.
That was no good.
That thing was bigger than any of the other eels out there. Speaking of, the eels charged toward the cyborg once more, but he had little to no time to play with them. The glowing sphere of energy that he had used to get their attention was shot through the water, away from him, and much like energetic dogs, the eels followed the energy sphere as if the cyborg did not exist. They chased after it, snapping their massive jaws at it as they trailed behind it. That was the distraction that Vidar needed and he shot off through the water after Baccer.
The immense eel was fast, despite its size, and it was chasing the bug boy with great determination; why was that? He did not know but he knew that the thing had to be distracted.
He removed the oxygen tank from his back as he allowed his eyes to scan over the eel, calculating.
CALCULATING...TARGETING... CHANCES OF SUCCESS.... 70%...
Well, that was better than nothing at all.
He aimed the tank and then broke the nozzle. This sent the oxygen tank shooting through the water like a torpedo. It sliced through the water at incredible speed and then cut in front of the eel, startling the immense creature as something flew past right in front of it. It turned to face the blonde cyborg then and opened its maw in anger and then shot after him.
Well, he got the thing's attention away from Baccer. So, success. But, now what? The thing was now charging at him.
