Immense surges of energy, both the sensible spiritual energy and that of the electrical, physical and mortal variety- the static shock of danger; it flowed through the air of the Temple which our heroes had entered in an effort to save Achido Nakamura and the students of the tiger beastman Martial Arts Master Daiko. It was sudden, with the defeat of four of the mirror worlds' combatants, and only grew as the victories continued. By the time the heroes of Prime Earth had won in seven matches, the villains who had started all of this thought they would win. But then the eight victory came, and their energy capturing mechanics exploded. As otherworldly forms fought in the mirrors of this temple and techniques not seen on the prime Earth at all were used; their vessel exploded and temple's placement in the world shifted, once, twice, three times before blasting the excess energy through the roof. Where a regal temple once stood, built into the mountain beneath the island, now there lay a quickly flooding ruin. Not all of our heroes were present- but that would be apart of the final challenge for the young challengers to the regime of the Demon King Piccolo. Rubble began to fall into the interior of the temple, as did water from the surrounding ocean begin to torrent.

As Will was fighting with his alternate self everyone was then surprised to see the appearance of another martial artist, the young martial artist that recklessly tried to blast at the temple before Will went in. Will's attention was not on him though instead he was solely focused on his dark counterpart. All thoughts were now entirely focused on killing this vicious mockery of himself. As his aura flared one more time, he then took advantage of this brief moment of confusion. His aura flared as he got into a fighting pose, as he was charging forth at the malignant mercenary suddenly it was if reality broke apart like glass around them as they seemed to be in some kind of temple area or the ruins of one. Did someone else break them out, he wondered. It was then however that Will noticed Kite's presence. Who he told to wait outside with Kinryu, and if he's in here then that means. He desperately tries to feel his energy to see if he can feel, but as he tries to it feels like everything has been blanketed by some amalgamation of various sources of energy. No, could have Kinryu really followed that boy into the temple? Could the real Kinryu be dead or even worse stuck in another dimension. He then floated up and turned towards Kite, his eyes opened slightly showing his slanted eyes. He was not happy at all. "Do you not realize what could have happened to you?! You could have been stuck there or even worse dead in who knows where we sent to! We're all lucky to be out of it right now it's probably thanks to everyone else who went in before us. And to make matters worse Kinryu probably followed after you and who knows if he was as lucky as we are! Do you ever think before you act?! Don't you realize that actions can have consequences!" Will shouted. As Will was shouting this his angry eyes started to shed tears trickling down the fur of his cheeks. He wiped them off and turned away from Kite. "I am sorry for bursting out at you, I'm just...just still upset about what happened back there, that version of me used his version of Kinryu as a sacrificial shield and now that I can't take my anger out on him, I took it out on you. The real Kinryu is probably still alive, farther ahead of us maybe. Let's go, I'll be needing your help," Will said. He then walked off using his staff as a walking stick, in the condition he is in. Still suffering from the damage he took against that cyborg clone of his. To think only with the help of others could he stand a chance. He truly is starting from zero again, but that's not going to stop him to keep on fighting right now and stop whoever is behind this once and for all. Whatever it is they are doing they're messing with forces that they have no right to interfere with.

Zaru’s fists dripped with blood, blood from a body that wasn’t his and yet was, all at the same time. His knuckles were bruised and his breathing slightly ragged. His gi was torn up, and across his back was a sword slash that remained open, leaving him with no doubt another scar that he would just have to hope people never got to notice. There was blood slowly leaking from his nose, even as he moved up the back of his hand to wipe off what had dripped down onto his face. What now? The arena, with its shattered tiles and scuffed sides, still stood there, and all he had was one corridor. He felt….so tired, exhausted. It wasn’t like a physical exhaustion, but some kind of mental fatigue that was overwhelming him. He couldn’t really think straight, and at first, just needed a moment to sit and think. Everything finally began to sink in as he realised he’d almost lost it, almost killed some version of himself and a little girl who were just trying to do good. He could maybe argue that protecting the people he himself had wounded would make up for it, but as the images of his Uncle Amon, turned into a ravenous beast with no more thoughts than the destruction of life rushed through his brain, it certainly didn’t feel like it. What had happened to that world, to that place? Was this some future that was never going to pass, or was this whole experience some kind of weird-ass warning? It could have been - trying to point out to him that he was going to do something stupid to cause this. He’d only even come in here chasing ki signatures, besides - somewhere in here, he could faintly feel Kiryu, and maybe that was Cade a bit further away. There were some other familiar bits of energy here and there, but he couldn’t place them exactly. Zaru reminded himself to not freak out; he could handle this, he already had. He was the best damn martial artist that he knew, and he’d proved that right there. If even another version of himself couldn’t beat him, then clearly he’d be able to take any evil force that tried to pull shit like what he’d seen. Yeah, exactly. He let out a deep breath, trying to dust himself off. Yet, even as he tried to relax, the whole place around him started to rumble, and it caused Zaru to let out an exasperated noise. ”You’re kidding. What now? Don’t you have anything better to do?!” He chastised the ruin as though it made any difference, and his expression made it obvious how tired he was of the situation. Even moreso than usual, his blank face looked incredibly unamused. Whatever was wrong with this place, it wasn’t up to code, and he wasn’t planning on sticking around to do its inspection. Zaru put himself into a more calm state, his aura gently pulsing for a moment before it faded, only for the arena to be shook again as a piece of debris broke off the roof of the place and smashed into the tiles near him. Oddly, looking up, he couldn’t quite make out any daylight from where that debris had been, but he could have missed it. More importantly, he began to notice the water filling up the temple. As if he didn’t have enough of an inevitable complex about water growing up on the tiniest islands in the world, already. Zaru gently floated into the air above where the water started to pool, and then almost seemed to shoot away, faster than most eyes could see. He rapidly flew down the corridor nearby, aiming for either an exit or something he could find to stop this whole thing and get everyone out of here.

Post by Lilith Nevermore on Jun 27, 2020 5:40:21 GMT -8
The young witch had just about managed to immerse herself in the fascinating findings when something broke her concentration. A static shock of danger ran through her senses, making her hair stand out at the end. Something had just gone terribly wrong... Her crimson gaze shot up from the book and swept across the cavemen gathered nearby. “What... did you do?” Accusation weighed heavily in her angry tone. Without even giving the men a chance to answer, she pressed the harsh question. “What did you idiotic peasants do?!” The cold shout echoed across the rumbling temple. Clearly this was somehow their fault. They had probably found something shiny and touched it carelessly. How typical.
When pieces of rubble started falling, Lilith quickly snapped her book shut and clutched it against her chest. Gritting her teeth, she grumbled. “You bloody fools... I could have claimed this temple as my new castle...” So much for that plan. She shook the thought out of her head with a resigned sigh. “Tch, no matter. You can stay here and die for all I care.” She cast a hesitant glance at Sir Miyazawa, but bit her tongue. Hmph, yes, even him. Turning her back to them, she started looking for a way out. All that excess energy had erupted upwards, through the roof... Perhaps that would be the quickest path? There was just one minor... problem...
She couldn’t fly.
The haughty noble clicked her tongue in frustration. Of course this had to happen when she was without a broom. She could still teleport, but that required seeing where she was going. Not to mention she couldn’t exactly do it repeatedly. Water cascading down the walls instilled a sense of urgency. Before long it would fill the entire ruins. That presented a second problem, but one she absolutely refused to admit out loud. And to top it all off, she was pretty sure she could hear another voice... no, two other voices making some sort of racket nearby. Lovely. As if there weren’t enough peasants running around already.

Post by Vidar (PROJECT: RAGNAROK) on Jun 27, 2020 11:31:06 GMT -8
None of this made any logical sense. He had been given no explanation. He had just been thrust into this madness. He had gone to Pilaf Land for a simple reason, with a simple purpose, and that was to find a scientist, or anyone with enough intelligence and know-how to be able to replace his missing arm - lost to Riku during their fight in the tournament to become Kinryu's protege. He had traveled across the land to get there and what did he find? He found a talking tiger standing in font of what could only be described as some kind of monolith of such strange non-euclidian geometries, mind twisting angles and construction, that even his own artificially upgraded mind could not handle its existence. His eyes could not dwell on it for lengthy periods of time without growing fuzzy and his head began to ache. And that's all before he entered the darkened corridors in search for missing students.
He ran into a doppelganger of himself. How he came to be, Vidar did not know. He had little data on such phenomenon and it appears that he was not the only one with a doppelganger. Celerai had a doppelganger as well. Vidar had seen Celerai before; he did not know them personally but he knew of their existence. But, he knew that they were not evil; he could not sense any evil intent. It was for that reason that he did not attempt to fight the pair. He refused to draw his hidden weapons and start an unnecessary fight.
His resistance to begin a fight proved quite fruitful, as the Doppelganger, after some discussion, came to the realization that Vidar was not his enemy. Instead, they worked together to find their real enemy, a lookalike Doctor Kringle - an abomination in the eyes of the blonde cyborg. They had been poised to fight this threat, him and his group of cyborgs, but it appeared that this battle was not meant to be.
There they stood, Vidar, Vali, Celerai, as well as Mai-Mai and Shin. The not so good Doctor Kringle stood on the other side of the room, preparing to do battle with them as he appeared to climb into some kind of mech suit and then - nothing. Vidar was no longer standing in a lab, watching abhorrent experiments being perpetrated on unwilling subjects. He was no longer standing in front of a twisted version of the man that had created him. A wave of raw energy swept through. It hit hard and everything shifted.
The world around him was falling apart. What had once been a strange and monolithic temple, was now a crumbling ruin, sinking into the ocean waves which surged angrily to engulf the aberration that had appeared above them. He couldn't see anyone else; there was too much chaos around him, but he had to get out of there. "If you can hear me, I suggest you make haste and evacuate." He called out to whomever was around, Vali, Celerai, any of them, and then he leapt out of the way of a massive chunk of falling rubble that crashed into the ground where he had been standing and began to make his way out of the crumbling temple.
He was missing an arm but that didn't make him slow. The whole time he moved, he attempted to search out any energy signatures, anyone he could assist but did not appear to find any. But he continued on. He had to. Vidar could only hope that no one was left behind.

Post by Achido on Jun 27, 2020 12:39:59 GMT -8
The young man was confused when he looked around the temple to see the place basically falling apart before his eyes. Sounds of rubble crushing around him were heard, so he quickly leaped up on a large chunk of falling rock, then pushed off to launch himself out of the top of the temple. As he was soaring straight up to exit the Temple, he was hit with a large piece of rubble, causing him to be sent down with the boulder on top of his chest. Achido hit the water first, then his body was crushed by the weight of the rubble.
With the human being submerged under the water and struggling to push the rubble from his body, Achido didn’t have much more time to waste because of the possibility of drowning. He was physically and mentally drained from the previous stage of fighting off a rather evil version of himself, so it was no easy task to attempt and free himself. As he was still holding his breath, Achido used what little ki energy he had left, and pushed the large boulder from his body, allowing him to slowly make his way to the surface.
The water was still rising but the temple was huge, so it may take awhile before it was submerged completely under the ocean. Once Achido made it to an opening inside the temple, he swam over to the edge where water was barely making it through one of the many tunnels within the place. The young human managed to pull himself up over the edge and flop to his back, while breathing in and out heavily. "I see why everyone went missing. This place is no joke, but I have to go on. Ty and the others will need my help to get out." He said, as he rolled to his stomach and pushed himself to his feet. The water was just above his ankle now, so he knew that he would have to keep on and hope to find any of the others who were still trapped inside. Just when Achido began to walk down the darkened tunnel, he used his right hand to once again illuminate the cavern, so that he would actually be able to see what or what was ahead.
It was then that the blonde martial artist spotted an armless man just ahead. He quickly rushed over, water splashing about with each step he took toward the Android. "Hey! We have to find the others and get out of here. This place is flooding and falling apart." He suggested, as he looked to Vidar with some concern. They may have never met before, but Achido was all about making everyone he met happy, so helping Vidar and the others was his main goal.

Baccer's memories after the confrontation with the mechanical cat were foggy. there wasd a flash of light, the rush of adrenaline, and then the feeling of vertigo. He woke up seemingly knee-deep in water, surrounded by the ruins of the temple which he entered mere hours ago. Now it all lay in rubbles. He was thankful for his regenerative properties and sheer durability, for without them he might not have been able to stand like he did now. So much fighting, such overwhelmingly strong opponents... was this how all ruin expeditions played out?. If so, it might be time to change profession
But now wasn't the time to ponder over the past, especially since the present seemed so uncertain. He was not the only person standing among the ruins, other -presumable- warriors also emerged. The bugman could recognize the cat he fought alongside, thankful that he seemed to be fully organic. However, they were surrounded by figures the android didn't recognize. Unknown faces, unknown allegiances. While that was definitely a sizeable concern, lingering on it for too long would be rather pointless, given theyh seemed just as lost as he was. Thus, the only thing that remained was to look at the bigger picture... whatever that actually meant

Post by Kite on Jun 30, 2020 13:49:27 GMT -8
He thought about what he said to the two. Maybe, he didn't need convincing at all to help them. He looked at the cat that seemed to be the doppelganger and began to examine just how much ki reserves he had left, but for some reason it seemed as if he was able to replenish as much ki as he needed. His ki reserves must've been replenished while he traveled through that rip. He decided to raise his ki much as possible, with his aura flaring up around his form. Before he could make his first move, he felt the area begin to shake under his feet and then, the reality that he was seeing fell apart. The teen fell over and hit his head and once he opened his eyes, he couldn't believe what he saw. Ruins.. of what seemed to be the temple that he entered. Once Will O. Wisp told Kite to go and look for Shinryu, Kite simply looked away, with a 'Hmph' and turned his back to him.
The building seemed to be under water, as it began to leak and break down as he looked in confusion and regret. He shouldn't have come here. There.. was no need to. Just wanting to see a friend transitions to him, entering a really dangerous temple which has basically submerged. It's not like he knows how to fly. He could feel the very faint ki signatures around him, as the water began to rise above his ankle and soon enough his knee. He could sense the different power levels around him. He tried to find the ones that he fought before without actually looking around, that is.. Copy and Lilith, but he only felt Lilith's ki signature, even though it was faint. It could be possible that the demon must be dead already. Kite, with a displeased look on his face, turned to face Will O. Wisp, in which he had an alliance with for a portion of a minute.
"Hm, Shinryu, huh? I don't know who that is. I came in here for one sole purpose.. well.. it's complicated. I've heard a lot of people talking about Ty's friend, which I was supposed to be meeting, Achido, was in danger, but I didn't think I'd find myself here, trying to help him. It's not like people do life risking things for me." He admitted to Will. "But, I'll accompany you wherever you're going to go right now, it's not like I have a choice, do I?"
That was just his opinion of life. His life is mostly about surviving on his own. Not even his father seems to care about him, because he is simply busy. This is the exact reason why Kite's like this. Arrogant, stubborn and sometimes do dumb stuff that gets him hurt, for example, being disrespectful. That's what his female doppelganger was saying. His attitude is the reason why people push him away. There's a good chance that he might die because of that. Now, it was time to get out of this temple, even though no one took it upon themselves to explain what the hell just happened and why he fought himself. His female.. self.

As Kinyru Kyto prepared to engage this twisted scientist and whatever weapons hidden in this laboratory. He began noticing a sharp disturbance in the ambient energy surrounding him. Mai-Mai spoke as she urgently grasped hold him as she pointed out how this pocket dimension seemed to be breaking down around them. “Shinryu do you see this?”Kinryu Kyto was silent as he held her strongly at his side as he felt them spiraling once again through multiple timelines or universes until they finally landed in a chamber inside of the temple. “Where are we now?”As Kinyru Kyto spotted the android Vidar which they had just met. Mai-Mai sensed Master Will O-Wisp nearby and could tell his Ki signature is in alignment with hers and Kinryu’s. She smiled as she looked up at her lover. “I think we’re finally home.”When Kinryu Kyto looked over when he had not spotted alternate Celerai standing there as well, he smirked and shook his head yes. “I’m afraid so.”WC:166 TWC:4194 ( Shadow Anomaly part 1 + Fighting Evil by Moonlight (2,541 graded) ) Vengance - Vidar (1487) | Finale (166)

The moment Tiger Lily had convinced Kuri Kalabasa, she was relieved that they could help each other find who they were looking for instead of fighting each other, and it was strange to think that Kiryu who was titled Inquisitor was leading an army of people against a Tuffle invasion for a moment. Under normal circumstances, she would help end the war, but her first priority initially was to find the missing people who had entered the mysterious temple including her best friend Achido. It was quite emotional to feel so powerless, despite having the ability to fight, and be selfish over saving a friend above the fate of the world. It was a nightmare that began to twist throught space and time before her ocean teal eyes. The presence of Kuri and her counterpart vanished, the flames surrounding the rubble of structures faded away, and as darkness engulfed her surroundings she emerged inside the temple where she first entered, a solid dark room was crumbling down, in the commotion other people began to appear one by one. Survivors of the anomaly that had consumed them inside a different world, an alternate reality of people from earth, and while it was normal to think of a means to escape now was the time to help.
To prevent the crumbing stone of the temple from hitting anyone inside, Tiger Lily focused her ki in her hand to blast the entire ceiling, the temple itself was still sinking into the ocean from a rumbling quake, and she looked over to everyone who emerged.
“Everyone, help each other, and we can all survive this together!” The red headed teenager shouted at the top of her lungs, as she drew her breath, she felt time stand still as she looked at the direction of the ki signature belonging to Achido, who was entirely drenched in water standing next to Vidar who was missing an arm, their eyes met his for a second until she looked away to help one of Master Daiko’s students who tumbled before her feet from the water that began to seep across the stone floor.
“Are you okay? We have to keep going, your master is waiting for your safe return.” She assured the feline student with a snow leopard pattern over silver colored fur and used her strength to stand him back up while the ground continued to shift.
A young woman, dressed in dark robes was muttering nearby, and as Ty drew closer the quakes were quite unbearable to walk on, she hovered above the ground with the snow leopard beastman following closely behind.
“Do you need help? Let’s fly out of here, take my hand.” The teenager extended one fingerless gloved hand over to Lilith and to the snow leopard beastman so they could escape through the ceiling.

Post by Misaki Kazamiya on Jul 3, 2020 14:26:48 GMT -8
Misaki paused numbly as she looked out, finding herself rid of her doppelganger. Dimly, she was aware that both stone and water were rushing their way into the temple, covering it and pulling ti back into obscurity. With it, all chance of her ever seeing the gardener again was drifting away with it, as well as the world that she'd made.
One half of her brain seemed to breathe out in a relieved sigh, like the protagonist to a horror movie, finally assured of the monster's defeat, and able to return to a life of safety away from the insanity and horror that had briefly warped their life.
Another felt sadness, shock, and the unshakable feeling that the only person who could really understand her - the only world that could really understand her - was slipping back into the void, unreachable, and desperately wished for one more moment in that comforting sensation.
Misaki didn't know which felt stronger, and as she looked back, she snapped her fingers, filling them with ki. Perhaps she could...
"Misaki! We have to get out of here!" Coral yelled, as the roof in their specific room started to cave in.
"...Do I?" The Greenette asked, a curious expression. "It might not be so hard, forcing enough energy to-"
even amongst the sound of collapsing rubble and rushing water, there was no mistaking the harsh sound of a particularly violent slap. Misaki looked up in disbelief now, truly focusing on the world for the first time as Coral stared daggers.
"...What happened to that gardening job you wanted? or protecting me? Aren't those both things you promised to do? So plant-world is awesome! Plenty of things are awesome here too! and maybe they're not as awesome, but you haven't even lived long enough to check yet! What are these plants going to do without you around, 'cause you'd rather hang out in a world populated by yourself and a bunch of plants that don't need tending?!"
"I..." Misaki started, red eyes glowing in rage... before faltering, as her head dipped down, and she got up.
"You're right. We need to get out of here. I... need to get out of here." The gardener of this world added, givin one last, sad look to the last place her opposite stood before rushing out of the temple with her companion.

Post by Konja of Clan Korm on Jul 3, 2020 18:49:20 GMT -8
Konja wiped the spit trailing from the corner of her mouth with the back of her hand. Just moments ago, she had been tangling with a version of herself so extremely altered that she not only displayed dominant Tuffle traits, she had also embraced Tuffle technology and some form of their way of life. Shopping... musical subcultures... Perhaps those weren't necessarily only Tuffle cultural patterns. They were present on Earth as well. So then...?
The floor shook beneath her feet. The laboratory had disappeared, along with her Tuffled other, leaving only a vacant, evidently collapsing room. Dark as when she first found it. Whatever was happening, the brief scuffle was over for now, and there was no sign of Achido.
She took one step forward. Perhaps there was still time to find him. She took another, in the direction of the door on the opposite end of the room. Just as she crouched to begin a sprint in that direction, a massive section of the ceiling imploded, blocking the door, along with the entire half of the chamber that her other self had entered from.
It was no use.
If she blasted that rubble away, who knew what sort of chain reaction would commence?
As much as she wanted to make her way deeper in, to search the crumbling temple for her friend, she might end up just worsening things for him. Konja grunted in frustration and turned around, inverting her original intent and instead sprinting back toward the hall she had emerged from, the megalithic structure collapsing around her.
If there was anything left after this, she would have to dig through all this rubble. The inner warrior who would have continued to push forward, despite all this mess. But there was no room to risk herself potentially getting crushed underneath. Even if she could blast her way out, what then? It would be a waste of time and her own energy to save herself first from the rubble, and then go back.
Loathe as she was to admit it, getting out was the best course of action. And getting out on foot the more practical one. She had just gotten some hang of flying. Not quite perfected it, but she could theoretically just punch her way up through the ceiling and multiple floors to the top of the pyramid. But it was too narrow. She hadn't quite gotten the gist of going from flat ground to straight up just yet. Needed a somewhat spacious area to take off... like a plane, but far more efficient.
As she rounded the last corner and spotted the light at the end of the tunnel, her resolve only deepened. She would find Achido. Even if it meant excavating this ruin that this was quickly becoming. Cayle too, and the others who had disappeared searching for him. Absurd as it sounded. After all, she was among the least of this little colony...

Post by Cayle Pota on Jul 6, 2020 11:46:05 GMT -8
Cayle had not been silent, or absent in the time which happened between the others escaping and the ruin exploding. The Vice-President of Logistics for Taco King had used some of his innate skills to break into numerous different 'cells' within this Temple. First saving one of Daiko's students as Cayle continued to try to find Achido, Ty, and the rest of his friends. Then saving a dark-skinned Saiyan in a red baseball cap and hoodie, then dozens of other people whom he had never actually seen enter the Temple.
In his logic, the Saiyan could just remove these people from the cells they had been trapped in after losing, and in the process could have made the entire machinery lose so much energy that it had to turn off for everyone. He didn't expect the blunt force method he was using to break into the cells, with blood, brawn, and his own immense power level to instead continue feeding the batteries and cause them time and time again to overload.
It certainly contributed to it, at least, as the cells cascaded and the pair of Piccolo Daimao's underlings found the artifact they had been powering for him with this particular temple suddenly getting too hot for even their regenerating hands to hold.
From the shadows, they rushed skyward in front of everyone, a purple robed and dimunitive Namekian witch and a bulky Namekian behemoth of muscles and tendons. They flew skyward, and sent the artifact they had so heavily worked on flying elsewhere on the Earth like a meteor. They could surely recover it later.
For now though, they fled.
Cayle didn't bother to try to chase them, too exhausted from the cell breaks, but smiled as he saw Konja, Achido, and Ty safe. Or what he thought was them. To everyone present, “Who can fly, and is in the shape to do so and carry someone? Who has good sensing skills? We need to make sure that people aren't trapped under rubble or beneath the waves in a corridor.” He asked, but as was true typically of the Saiyan would-be warlord, the tone was as much a command as a question.
Around him, numerous figures who he had saved stumbled about, exhausted. This temple had apparently captured a lot more people than they thought it had.

Post by Zaru on Jul 7, 2020 5:33:20 GMT -8
Zaru’s senses were being assaulted, even moreso with how hard he’d fought not long ago. It wasn’t just the noise, or the blood that covered the side of his face and down his body. He could feel so much ki, so much energy all around. At first it was building, and building, before all of a sudden it popped. It was like a flashbang had gone off in his head, and he couldn’t get it to stop. He was still suffering the blinding effects, unable to tell where he was in relation to it all. In fact, in relation to anything.
The martial artist was starting to get lost in the tunnels, wincing as one of his eyes screwed shut, his other darting about. Usually he would rely on his skill in ki and his ability to sense, but he couldn’t do that right now. He could hear faint whispers of it though, weak ones. People in trouble, potentially a lot of it. He really just wanted to ditch them and leave, but what a shitheel coward thing that would be to do, huh? Zaru sighed to himself as he suddenly picked up in speed, rushing through the temple.
He looked like a blur, passing through the hallways at rapid speed and kicking up water as he went. In a moment, he would crack open a cell and pull somebody out, and once he had as many as he could carry he rushed them out. Soon, he began repeating the process, pulling out more and more people. Zaru could feel his body starting to strain from the effort, and after a few dozen had been pulled out, and no doubt others were helping too, he stopped in his tracks. Perhaps he’d been through there before and just not looked, but he hadn’t noticed before.
Zaru was staring towards the pink-haired witch, his face not wincing now, though he was catching his breath. Lili, that was it. The names, the history and feelings were all still seared into his mind. So many versions of him had invaded his head, but the man he fought, the life that he’d led, that had stayed in front. Of all of those lives, he could never forget that one. The life that a good man didn’t deserve, and neither did the little girl that guy was trying to protect, who was standing in front of him right now.
Well, a version of her, anyway. He wasn’t too close to her, but enough to know that she seemed much older, and somehow...even less happy. Her energy felt different. More like Kiryu’s than anyone else that he’d met in his life, and there was a familiarity to it, too. What could he even say to her? He wasn’t sure if he needed to. They weren’t in the same situation, after all. She didn’t need to know him. ”Hey. Hey, you.” He called over to her, still slightly out of breath, talking even as he began walking back out of the chamber to get more, though he motioned down another pathway for her. ”The, uh….if you want to leave, it’s that way. Just be careful of falling debris, Lili.”
He only realised a moment afterwards that he had called her by name, and since he was already leaving, suddenly sped up to get himself out of that awkward situation by rushing with blinding speed. The worst part of it, in hindsight, wasn’t even that he’d called her that. It was the tone he used with her. He spoke to her like she was his little sister, when he didn’t even have a little sister. Zaru figured it must have been the way that the other him had spoken to her, and it made him wonder what else was different. He’d never imagined himself taking care of anybody like that, much less a kid.
Zaru continued to bash his way through cells, grabbing anyone he could to bring them out. All he’d ever been good at was violence, and it made him think of what his mother had told him once. That for whatever good he might try, he had a bad soul, that he was just a nasty, cursed child that was no good to anybody. Maybe it was true. Even now, he didn’t even want to help the people he was saving. That other man, he was good, did what was right and wanted to do it. What about himself?
He decided to cast the thoughts aside for now. Zaru rushed back out, with even more piles of people that had been captives now out of the table. He fell to his hands and knees for a moment, wheezing and breathing heavily. Jeez, that fight had taken even more out of him than he thought. He had rescued so many, but there were more. He could feel more. Zaru struggled, trying to get to his feet to go and get more of them before that whole temple came down. How long had it been dragging people in, if there were this many?
Zaru suddenly fell down and rolled over, lying on his back near all the people that he’d managed to get out of there. He couldn’t really go again, not without a short breather, and he pulled himself up to at least sit. Surely other people were helping too, huh? They’d get them all in no time.

Much to Lilith’s immense dismay, more peasants just kept appearing like cockroaches from woodwork. Her supernatural senses were picking up every last soul around her. Worse yet, some of them were actually approaching her. First, a red-headed girl dared to invade her personal space. She looked up at the hovering stranger and huffed. “Tch, it is not like I need your help, peasant.” Just saying the word made her stomach turn. Yet she still extended her hand in return. “So do not get the wrong idea. I am simply using you. Understand?” Pride was a strange thing...
However, just before the witch could take the helping hand, another distraction stopped her. She aimed an annoyed glare at the bald man. “What do you want, peasant?” The icy question went unanswered. Rather, the stranger spouted some obvious advice. One word in particular received a chilling stare. The corner of her eye twitched at the nickname. “I beg your pardon?” Her words came out as a venomous hiss... Buuuut the stranger was already fleeing. She blinked. Once. Twice. “...What in the name of burning hell was that about?” After muttering that, she shook her head and decided she didn’t want to know.
Lilith latched onto Ty’s hand, though the latter would have to do all the lifting. The dainty lady was exactly as weak as she looked. It didn’t dampen her icy attitude, however. As soon as Cayle was done handing out commands, she let out another haughty huff. “Hmph, I do not take orders from you, filthy brute.” Her eyes lit up with an arcane glow, as she scanned the surroundings. Divination and clairvoyance weren’t her strong suit, but thanks to her family tome she could wield any spell for a short while. “You are wasting your breath anyway. All those fools are scurrying around like panicking ants. They may be lost in the dark, but certainly not trapped.” She only told him that so he would stop his constant barking. Nothing more.
