Juniper followed Fenrir’s ki signature to a hostel in West City, she had read how economical it was to stay in one if it was only needed for rest, but she figured Hachi would not be a welcomed guest at such an establishment. The tea princess had to choose accommodations that allowed pets despite her companion not necessarily being one, there were rules in place that needed to be followed, and she simply stood outside with intense cobalt blue eyes. In her hand was an envelope with pictures of potential business locations in Oolong City for the wolf deity to operate his bakery in. While Juniper’s clan invested in many businesses this would be the first time she personally involved herself and she relied on her sister Clove’s advice through phone calls, texts, and emailed resources to have everything in order.
“Alright, Hachi. You can knock on the window but don’t go in unless you’re invited okay?” Juniper motioned for Hachi to lock in on Fenrir’s ki signature and alert him of their unannounced arrival.
The truth was, she forgot to exchange c-phone information despite living in the zen estate tea house, everything was old fashioned when communicating, and this was the first time she personally did not want to intrude by going over to his hostel door. However, she was too excited to share the news, that she could not wait around expecting him to return to the estate, and then inform him about the potential locations. There was still a chance he was indisposed, so she wrote a small note, and gave it to Hachi.
“Call me on my c-phone 888-888-8889”
Perhaps there was a phone he could use in the room so they could talk to each other.

The hostel he had taken refuge in was economical, yes. It was also set up in a building that had once been quite beautiful. It had the facade of an old castle with tall circular towers and dark stone construction. The exterior walls appeared as if they had been battered relentlessly by time and the elements, but appeared to be in good shape regardless despite needing a good old fashioned pressure washing to bring out the inner beauty once again. There was an awning that covered over the entryway, allowing for people to stand under it whenever it was raining or snowing. At the moment, there was no one standing under it. The day was nice and comfortable in West City and everyone was walking past the structure, paying it no mind. It had always been there, and if the West City Historical Society had anything to say about it, it would stay there forever.
As Hachi floated up to the window, from which the wolf's energy radiated, the wolf was sitting up in bed. He had awoken, well rested, with a loud yawn. He stretched his limbs as he slipped out of the bed. As he stood up, leaving the comfort of his bed, the sheets that were wrapped around his waist slipped off. Thankfully, Hachi was not given an eyeful. For once, Fenrir had gone to bed only half naked; he was wearing a pair of comfortable sleep pants that hung just off his hips, albeit his muscled upper body was fully exposed.
He rubbed his neck and peered around his room; happy he had paid a bit extra to get a private room, albeit his room was smaller compared to the larger shared rooms. He didn't mind it. He had slept in far more cramped quarters in the past; and those past sleeping arrangements did not include a bed, or any form of modern comfort, just a cold uncomfortable floor and chains.
Something caught the wolf's attention at that moment. Well, several some things. One was the soft tapping that emanated from behind him; it was coming from the window. As he turned, he noticed the other thing that caught his attention; it was a very familiar energy signature. Juni was outside somewhere, on the street. And as he looked out the window, he could see the small octopod hovering just outside, a small note held in one of his tentacles, waving through the window at the wolf.
A wide grin spread across his face; it was a natural reaction upon seeing that hovering octopus. The tiny octopod's face was surprisingly expressive and he enjoyed seeing the multitude of expressions he made, but he also simply liked the small creature's presence. It was so strange, so odd, yet so oddly familiar and comfortable. It reminded him of, not just Juni, but of home. He couldn't quite explain why. He walked over to the window and pulled it open as he peered out, almost propping half his body out the window as he peered down to the street below and saw Juni.
"Oi, you gonna come up?" He called down to her, "Don't worry, I'm not naked or anything. I decided against company last night." He motioned her to come upstairs, "I can try to make some tea, though the kitchenette in here leaves a lot to be desired if I'm being honest."

Hachi did exactly as instructed, he hovered into the room only when Fenrir extended the invitation, and Juniper waved her hand as he dangled half his torso over the window syl. The reason she had not come up to knock on his door in the first place was because she arrived unannounced. With a nod, she listened to what he had to say, it seemed that he slept in, and she headed towards the main narrow lobby turning towards the stairs to the third floor after she remembered counting the windows to determine the level. Following Fenrir’s ki signature she stood outside his door, Hachi opened the door from the inside, and the tea princess let herself in with a smile.
“Good afternoon, Fenrir-san. How are you faring in West City? Pardon the intrusion, I fear we never exchanged contact information even after the few fateful encounters we had in the past. While Hachi has served me well this time it’s difficult to have him ask you a question without being informal. Mind if I take a seat here?” Juniper accepted the slight nod in response to sit at the small corner desk chair then handed the wolf deity the envelope in hand.
“After discussing it with my sister Clove, who I believe you have not met, and ate your delicious tea cakes. I have a business proposition. Inside the envelope you will find pictures of different shops in Oolong City to set up a bakery. I understand it may not be a full time occupation, but with your recipes and directly training staff, the business will do well. Misaki-san has harvested quite a bit of natural ingredients at zen estate that can be used to fully keep the bakery operational. So what do you say? Are you inclined on having the world have a taste of your cakes?”
Juniper remained hopeful that Fenrir was inclined to invest his time and efforts in a hobby that would earn him stars in the Wolf Fang Motorcycle club culinary atlas.

When he was staying at hostels, until now, he rarely got visitors - well, visitors like Juni. He certainly had people who would spend the night with him, usually sleeping in his bed and that's if they didn't stay up all night. So, as the woman headed inside, the small hovering octopod floating nearby, Fenrir felt different. He felt oddly happy. Someone was visiting. Though as he looked around his room, well his rented room, he took stock of the conditions he was inviting her into. The room was in decent condition, it was nowhere near as lavish as the bedrooms of the beautiful large compound in which Fenrir had his own suite, with its original hardwood floors, the oversized four poster bed frame that took up a good chunk of the space, the old antique looking armoir and dressers. It looked old, it all looked old. But it looked well maintained.
"Do you think she would be comfortable in here?" He commented, to no one in particular as there was no one else in there aside from Hachi. He rubbed his chin and peered over at the octopod, "This feels a few class levels below her, you know?"
He didn't really have much time to think it over, or suddenly gain a new sudden appreciation or at least acknowledgement of his low standing as opposed to the Tea Princess, because as soon as he began to think his place in the universe over, or at least his place in the social hierarchy and caste system, the young woman knocked at his door.
He didn't think twice, he walked up to the door and opened it, "Welcome, come in," He pulled the door open wide, as he allowed her to step inside. Of course, she would see the nearly seven foot tall wolf standing there, a big grin on his face, in all of his bare chested glory, but also the room in which she stepped in; he had specifically chosen this room. The woodwork, the color, it all felt warm and cozy, and the bed was quite large and comfortable looking, "Oh, no intrusion," he assured her as he allowed her inside and shut the door.
As soon as the door was shut, he had moved to the small kitchenette and listened to what she had to say as he made some tea. There wasn't anything there that he could call high quality tea but what he had was decent and he soon had prepared a nice cup of tea that he brought over to the woman and handed it over as he took the envelope, "So, you wish to begin a business with me?" He sat down, pulling out a chair, "I never imagined myself owning a business. But the idea does sound intriguing," He looked over the pictures, flipping through them one after another as he occasionally glanced over at the tea princess, "So, what exactly would I need to do in order to get this all started?"

Hachi shrugged his tentacles in response to Fenrir’s inquiry of the state of his hostel room. While he understood conversations he did not understand what was comfortable as he preferred the air over the ocean.
After Juniper settled into the cozy room, she smiled as Fenrir offered her a tea cup, she loved tea apart from it being her clan name, she looked rather elated upon receiving it despite the quality. After taking a small sip, she did not bother to blow on it, her demon blood allowed her to withstand the boiled liquid without a care. The taste was still made with tea leaves, even iced tea had its merits despite diluting the flavor with ice, and she took the time to finish her cup while Fenrir looked through the photos.
“Well, with my recent engagement, I figured I needed to utilize my time effectively before being shuttered off into Koma-san’s homeland.” Juniper admitted in response to his first question, a slight blush tinted her pale complexion, and then she answered his last question. “Well, I would prefer that we go view these locations in the photographs right now, so that we can determine the feng shui, and figure out what would be effective inspiration for your creations. Unless you prefer another time?" Even now the Tea Princess was observing his chakras, curious if he was aware of his ability to fly like Hachi, and she smiled at him while waiting for an answer. "Have you mastered the sky dance art?”

When the fair Tea Princess entered the room and took a seat, the tall light blue haired man had to admit that he was internally unsure of what to make of the visit. He rarely ever got visitors, and while he was happy that Juni had chosen to visit him, he didn't know how she would react to the location at which she found him. It was, after all, a hostel. It was not anything as elegant or eloquent or as well appointed as the rather large, almost palatial, compound which the tall wolf now had his own room in. But, it was cozy. It was quite nice. It was not run down. It appeared to be well maintained. Still, for the first time, in a long time, he felt as if he was looking at someone who stood at least head and shoulders above him in terms of social standing. He was but some commoner and she was a tea princess, member of some pseudo-governmental group known as the Pig Demon Duchies or something to that effect.
When she drank the tea, and did not react in a negative manner, that did alleviate some of his tension and he sat down as he looked over the photos she handed over to him. In fact, he flipped through the photos several times, in order to get a good feel over the pictures and the locations.
Some of them did catch his attention.
A few things she said caught his attention. Right off the bat were the words 'recent engagement,' and he peeked over at the woman with a look of mild curiosity - well that was an understatement, he looked baffled - "Engagement?" He sounded more than a little surprised. He hadn't really imagined the attractive young woman getting engaged; well, he did. He did, in fact, imagine the young woman finding someone lucky enough to be her future husband, but to have it done so suddenly. The way her cheeks turned rosy caused a small smile to cross his face, "Oh? Who's the extremely lucky man? Or woman, I don't judge." He grinned wider at her, "Ooh? Koma? That dour looking guy with the facial scar?" He thought back to that fateful meeting, before they all went their separate ways to deal with the Devil's Cookbook gang. He recalled Koma. He didn't appear the type to get married. Not that he wasn't an attractive man; Fenrir did find him aesthetically pleasing, but he was so abrupt, and they never really got much of a chance to speak, so he couldn't get much of a proper reading on the man.
The idea of the two of them getting married felt...well, he couldn't say wrong. She was a beautiful woman. He was a good looking man. Though, from the few interactions between her and Koma that he was present for, he did not see them really.... interact much? One would think that if she and Koma were engaged, they would be...spending more time together?
"Hm? Feng Shui? I never really considered anything like that before. But it does sound like a good idea. I don't mind going now. To be honest, I don't really have anything on my schedule at the moment; I had considered going to an open air market and finding some specialty ingredients to take back home, see what I could whip up with it for everyone. But I think this is a bit more important. Plus, I can check out the market any time of the week. I can get dressed to go out, if you want to go now, and we can check the places out. And, if we still have time at the end of the day, we can check out the market anyway; maybe I'll find ingredients for a nice wedding cake for you and your betrothed," He grinned, a somewhat cheeky teasing smile crossing the tall man's face.
He peered over at the small hovering octopod, smiling at the tiny creature then turned his attention back to the tea princess when he heard she had once again spoken up.
Sky Dance Art? He had no idea what that was. He thought it over silently for a second, mulled it over in his head, before he questioned Juni aloud, "What's that? I never heard of a sky dance art? Is that some kind of dance style? Though, I did learn how to fly?" He tapped his chin, thinking it over, visibly looking mildly befuddled, "I don't really recall how I learned. I think I just jumped up too high and got stuck in the air. Not the most prestigious ways to learn something like that but," he gave a nonchalant shrug of his shoulders.

“It is quite sudden but it was arranged by our family in order to unite the ducal hierarchy. I am honored to serve my clan in this way, it pleases me to make the Tea family and the White Cat family happy, and Koma-San has proved himself as being loyal with his honesty.” Juniper set the empty tea cup down, “Dour indeed but I do believe most samurai are, with the crimes that are rampant in the western lands, in order to protect people they must be taken seriously by everyone.”
The idea of going shopping intrigued her, she had limited her diet to fish, and had not tried the food West City had to offer.
“I am not in any rush, we can do some shopping before heading out to Oolong City, testing the kitchens with what is found at the local market is an excellent idea. Whenever I paint I often try to find the best part of the room to do so comfortably in order to focus on my piece. I have a feeling it is the same for you, whenever you cook, having things located a certain way, using the kitchen like a workstation efficiently.”
Juniper leaned in the chair at the mention of a wedding cake, she was the youngest in her clan, and at some point someone in her family did get married but she could not recollect what was involved. “Well then, I will be the first to place an order for a wedding cake at the bakery before it’s even open.” The tea princess chuckled happily.
Hachi was nodding at Fenrir at his ability to fly motioning his tentacles in response to his affirmation.
“Hachi is proud that you mastered it and so am I. The sky dance art is a known ability from a famous Crane School in the Northern Lands. It is a martial arts school and there are several on earth that are known for certain abilities. Flying is not common among earthlings let alone animals like Hachi. I still have a long way to go until I can fly myself.” Juniper cleared her throat, closing her cobalt blue eyes for a minute, and gazed into Fenrir’s crimson eyes, “Do you mind showing me what it’s like to fly? By that I mean, carrying me?”
While she held a serious expression for a minute patiently waiting for a reply, a rose tint flush eventually colored her pale complexion, and she was embarrassed to have asked. By this point she felt familiar enough with the wolf deity to be so bold and it was friendship that brought them together.

"Yes, I would say it is sudden. An arranged marriage," That part got to him, not in a negative way it was just something he had not heard about in a long time. Oh, he had seen many arranged marriages in his many years of existence, including one particular special arranged marriage that he was close to so long ago, "I know about those." He nodded, rubbing his jaw a bit as he thought back on it. Yes, that particular marriage had been set up between the two parties by their families - their parents - as soon as they were born. They had never before met their future husband/wife until they were fifteen and that is when they were told, officially, that they were betrothed to the other and they were to meet one another in person.
The wolf recalls the look on the young man's face, the boy who would be King, when he was told that he was to be wed to a young woman in an arranged marriage. A small smile crossed his face as he recalled the boy's reaction - it was not exactly a happy one, at least at first.
"Yes, you're making the two clans happy, but there is one person you did not mention," He commented as he was brought back to reality by the young woman's words - she sounded eager and pleased to help her clan as well as the clan of her betrothed, but she failed to mention someone rather important that she had to concern herself with making happy - his eyes falling onto the young woman with clarity and focus, his smile only stretching wider as he canted his head, "You want to make the Tea Clan and the White Cat family happy, that is noble of you. But, what about you? Are you happy with this arrangement? Setting aside the Tea Clan and the White Cat family and their happiness, setting aside the arranged aspect of the marriage, are you happy with the whole situation? Is Koma happy with it? That is really what matters. I've seen multiple arranged marriages in my lifetime; several of them ended rather well, the two people that were to be married wound up liking each other quite a lot, even falling in love. Others," he thought it over, "Not so much. They were getting married for their families, lineage, and nothing more. I do not believe they ever really were happy together. So, where do you fall under? I guess it is presumptuous of me to ask. But, I would give my left eye to see you happy."
He leaned back a bit and looked up at the ceiling, not sure if he had spoken out of turn or not. He had been rather blunt about it, rather frank, but that was how he usually spoke. He rarely beat around the bush, or at least he tried to avoid it. But, sometimes his frank form of speaking got him in trouble, and he did not want to upset Juni. After all, she was one of the very few friends that he had, not including that particular individual, even now he worried how they were holding up, were they alright?
"Hm, well, let me get some clothes on, or should I say some better clothes on," He quickly looked himself over before he stood up from the edge of the bed, "I would not mind checking out some shops; I have a bit of money saved up and you're probably better equipped at leading the way to good stores around here than I am. I didn't really spend much time outside of the Northern regions before I came down here. I'm still learning the lay of the land. I don't mind carrying you while flying," he nodded, "I have a list of equipment I would love to look at - more of a wish list, but the ingredients take priority for me at the moment, I am sure that the locations that we'll be visiting should be equipped with the proper equipment, but whether or not they'll have the ingredients I am looking for, that is a different story. Give me a few moments and I'll throw on something a bit more appropriate." He rummaged through his bag and pulled out some clothes before heading for the door, "I'll be back in...hm, I would say five...five minutes. Oh, before I go get ready, if you want more tea, I have extra water in the kettle and more tea bags on the counter." The Great Wolf then wandered out, he wanted a two minute shower and a few moments to dress himself. The idea of spending time with a friend was nice; he had not done that in some time.

Juniper stared at Fenrir as he explained that there was more to an arranged marriage, most importantly happiness, and she smiled that he was concerned about the matter.
“As you know, I can read chakras, Koma-san’s are quite balanced, while we do not have the same aura our relationship should be interesting. As a samurai he follows bushido, a philosophy I believe is quite balanced, and I would prefer that my husband-to-be have such beliefs. While the marriage was arranged, we were given the option to agree to it or not, I would have been devastated if Koma did not approve to be honest. As far as I can tell, you never truly know someone until you live with them, and knowing that he supports that I can travel freely is a great comfort to me. You see, our clans also wanted us to remain at the capital under their protection, but Koma-san refused that request so that I can continue practicing the mystic arts. Having someone who supports me in that way, who is willing to go against our families wishes when they seem forceful, does make me happy. The decision has allowed me to remain with everyone living in zen estate a bit longer.”
The wolf deity excused himself then to get dressed, packed, and ready to go. The tea princess made more tea for herself while rummaging through her own pockets to pull out a tin capsule corp engraved case with DynoCapsules nestled into a rubberized foam. Ten small pill sized capsules were organized in two rows of five, four capsules were neatly stowed below the rows that were three times the size, and as soon as Fenrir emerged from getting dressed she held it out the case for him.
“You can have this, the small ones can store one item, and the four large ones can store an ensemble of things like an entire picnic table with plates and such or a mini fridge full of food. It will make it easier to travel back to Oolong City when you buy everything you need for the bakery. So let’s get going.”
After handing over the case, Hachi followed after her, taking the flight of stairs to the ground floor and stepping outside. It was a bright sunny day, a few clouds lingered, but it was windy enough to blow them away to the next region. West city was a futuristic metropolis, with dome shaped houses, tube-like walk-ways between saucer shaped high rise buildings, and finally the largest shopping mall on earth. It was two floors in height but the entire mall stretched out for what looked to be a mile with several small shops, giving business owners a chance to compete with their products, the first shop was one specifically for kitchen, there were small stands for produce that each farm owned right outside of it keeping it convenient for them to shop in one area rather than explore the entire mall. Hachi showed an interest in the freshly caught fish stand, the fish were kept over ice, as long as it remained cold there was no particular smell that would deter customers. The farmer market style booths were directly under an open hair ceiling and otherwise smelled like fresh food.
“What is your favorite food, Fenrir-san?”

Koma's chakras are balanced. Well, that was...he didn't understand that. He would be the first to admit that he didn't understand chakras. He did know that Juni could see them, could read them, and understood them, but he did not. He had never really seen anyone else's chakra before and had never before studied the art of reading it, but he knew of the practice. Or, at least he knew of it as far as knowing Juni was concerned. Still, she knew of Koma's chakra, she had read it, and found it pleasing, so that at least was good? He was a samurai, so his life was all about balance; which made sense to the wolf.
Koma was also quite nice, according to what the Tea Princess was saying about him. He allowed her to travel at her leisure and allowed her to be herself. He did not constrain her, restrain her, or keep her chained up to a specific location or at his side at all times. He gave her freedom which allowed her to be herself and happy. He appreciated that.
Ultimately, it didn't matter what Fenrir thought of Koma or of the union, of the arrangement between the two houses, as the only opinions that mattered were those of Juniper and Koma and both appeared quite happy with the arrangement. So, if Juniper was happy, he would provide her with confidence and support.
Once he excused himself, he quickly made his way to the shared bathroom - the hostel was quite nice but they had to share bathrooms much like a dorm building in a college - where the separated showers were situated. The showers were divided into stalls which could be shut off for privacy with the use of a simple curtain. It did not take him long to shower up and get dressed and when he finally returned to the room, all clean and fresh and refreshed, he was once again clad in his usual red leather attire, a big grin on his face as he packed up what little belongings he had in order to have it at the ready whenever he decided to leave the hostel.
"Oh? Those sound very convenient," He took the case as it was handed to him and he peered it over before he nodded, "Hm, yes, we want to find some good deals in the market before we head over to the first location."
He allowed her to stand and walk out of the room before he followed, the small octopod being allowed to leave with them as he shut the door behind them all, "My favorite food?" He considered the question as they made their way down the various flights of stairs to arrive on the ground floor and head out through the front door of the hostel, "I would say it depends on what course we're talking about," he nodded, "I've got a favorite for every course and meal of the day. Hm, I guess for a nice lunch, I like something filling but simple like a pork katsudon with rice and curry. Those are easy and fun to make," Fenrir considered.
The walk to the nearest market was rather short; near the hostel, at least three blocks away, was an open air market street with multiple booths being run by and being visited by seemingly countless people. Each booth selling a variety of different things from rice to vegetables to fruits and various types of beans.
"What about you? Do you have any favorite foods?" He queried as he began to peruse each of the booths.

“Rice,” Juniper said simply with a complacent smile, while Fenrir mentioned dishes she kept it simple, as she could enjoy just rice alone but there were many ways to make it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. “Whenever I travel I always have steamed rice ready, I like rice water, broth and rice, and occasionally sushi prepared by Hatchi. It’s somewhat of a guilty pleasure since there is an imbalance of eating strictly white rice when brown rice reduces those health factors. Steamed Brown rice is a bit woody in flavor so I do not eat it often.”
While she could go on about it, she wondered if Fenrir was aware of such things when preparing meals, and she took a moment to browse the fresh produce. “Not a lot of dishes use brown rice and I wonder if even a risotto would suffice for the lack of flavor. I have not tried it but brown rice does do well in stews or soups.”
Hachi flailed about so that Juniper could explain his favorite food.
“Ah, Hachi says he loves crustaceans and clams. Crab especially.”
The octopod had a beak between his eight limbs specifically for shellfish to crush up before consumption and he nodded delightfully on the idea that crab would be part of the shopping list.

Rice. Well, it was a simple but good answer; the tall man liked the woman's honesty and simplicity. Simplicity wasn't a bad thing; there was no need to make something overly complicated or unnecessarily, or as he would call it pompously, over indulgent. A simple bowl of white rice could go with anything; it was the perfect side dish. The flavors, when made correctly and simply, melded into almost every dish. He had never had brown rice, so he didn't have much of a reply for that; he wasn't even aware that rice came in brown? Well, he could at least say that he learned something new that day.
"Rice is a good food. I enjoy it mainly because it is simple to make, does not require much in terms of ingredients, does not take much time, can be made into just about anything, from a sweet breakfast, to a savory lunch, to a delicious dessert. And it goes with just about everything; sushi, of course, but a nice spicy curry goes well with some Jasmine rice. I am a big fan of homemade curry. Maybe I'll buy some ingredients and make a curry with lamb." The tall man pondered aloud, tapping his chin as he mulled the idea over.
Though a few things that she said did stick out to him and brought a bright smile to his face, "Hatchi makes sushi? I wouldn't mind trying it out one day. In fact, while we're out here, maybe we'll get a few different types of fish and crab and we can make some for everyone when we get back. I had considered making somewhat of a meal for everyone; my way of saying thanks for allowing me to live there. What do you think about Sushi, Curry and Jasmin rice, and maybe a simple dessert? Of course, we could also make some crab for Hatchi; do you prefer steamed or do you prefer something along the lines of crab cakes?"
The people attending the booth could only stare as the rather tall man approached their table, a big grin on his face, as they saw that he began to grab up ingredients by the handful; bags of rice, vegetables, dried beans, spices, herbs, etc as he appeared to be ruminating in his mind the many different dishes, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert, that he could make with these varied ingredients.
"It's been a while since I cooked for a crowd, so I wouldn't mind trying to make multiple different dishes for the meal so everyone can try a little something of everything. How do you feel about pork katsudon? It would work well with the Jasmine rice and curry if I decide to make that."

The ideas Fenrir shared with rice all piqued her interest, it has been quite some time since she enjoyed a meal apart from sea food, and she was more than eager to taste whatever he was inspired to make. "Crab cakes would make an excellent appetizer with a wedge of lemon and micro-green salad." The Tea princess hoped it was a helpful idea with his planned course menu, she was not much of a cook herself, it was not part of her training as a mystic but she understood the importance of a well balanced meal for martial artists.
"Katsudon is quite filling along with the curry, perhaps small portions of both? The zen teahouse should have adequate dishware for a proper serving size that you can use." Juniper assured him as she relieved him of some of the supplies he was carrying, paying for them, and storing them into empty DynoCapsules to allow him to browse for any inspirations among the ingredients for his future menus.
When they reached the fresh seafood stall, Hachi almost appeared to be drooling at the selection, while his mouth was hidden from view, his eyes expressed the anticipation of having crab which came in a variety of options including the native snow crab next to the king crab which was similar in size apart from having longer legs.
"Well, it seems that Hachi has decided on the two optimal crab selections." Juniper chuckled softly while she put away the capsules in a case.

He was excited. He was looking from one booth to the other. Much like a kid in a candy store; only this particular candy store was filled with herbs, spices, different types of rice, vegetables of all kinds, shapes, sizes, colors, as well as different kinds of meats both fresh and frozen, and even cured meats. There were breads of various types and shapes. There were so many types of flour. So many types of sugar. Everything was there for the taking and he was excited; his big broad grin proved it as he moved from one side of a booth to the other, eyes roving over every ingredient as his mind appeared to be hard at work; calculating what ingredients worked best with each other, what brought out the flavor of what, what increased the richness of a dish, the depth, and the savory or sweetness of it.
Anything that fell into those perfect calculations was picked up, looked over in his hands, up and down and all sides were inspected, then he handed them over for purchase. Of course, if Juniper wanted to offer some advise on any ingredients, she was more than welcome and Fenrir was more than eager to listen to her advice.
"Hm, the snow crab or the king crab," The wolf looked them over, thinking it over, mulling the choices over several times in his head. "Well, the King Crab is larger between the two of them. Their legs are, however, shorter with a thicker and spikier shell, harder to break. Though I do not think we would have any issue with breaking the shell. The Snow Crab has longer legs, but while its meat is delicious, it's also a bit more fibrous. So I think I'll go for the King Crab. I'll also go ahead and grab a few lobsters for lobster rolls. I'll make sure to grab extra crustaceans; they would make good egg rolls as a nice appetizer for the meal."
He tapped his chin, thinking over what she said, "You are right, the katsudon is quite filling. I would have to make them in small bite size portions, which I think works even better. Make it a nice buffet for everyone. Everyone can grab a bit of everything, try everything, and if there's anything they really like, I'll make it another day in larger quantities. Hm, now, what do you think for a nice dessert?"

Juniper stared at the spiny shelled king crab, Fenrir explained that he was familiar with that type of meat it produced necessary for his recipe, and she believed his words were true. After that they continued with their shopping, storing the ingredients in capsules, and paying exact amounts of zeni to avoid getting change. Raised in a sheltered castle, did not permit her to experience anything like this, and she was rather fond of looking at each individual ingredient adding to the value of a dish according to the wolf deity. Above all else, she enjoyed listening to him speak so fondly of food, and while she was not an excellent cook she could imagine that there was more merit in creating a dish to be enjoyed by others by the smile on their face. It reminded her of the time Koma revealed that his favorite was curry bun, he brought enough buns to feed an army during their trip to recover the tree of might, and then she was smiling knowing that food brought out the most positive emotions in people.
“Dessert?” Cobalt eyes peered into Fenrir’s crimson irises, the only ingredient that came into mind was fruit. “Anmitsu with seasonal fruit perhaps? It is quite light. Otherwise a pudding of some kind? What do you think, Fenrir-san?”
The tea princess was familiar with western land cuisine, she assumed he knew of it, but was not fully aware of his knowledge of her homeland apart from recently taking residence there to train. As they stopped to stand in front of fruit stand, she looked at all the colorful options, and kept her attention to Fenrir to observe which he would select.
“Among these, apricots, cherries, and pomegranate are my favorite. How about you?”
