Konja nodded as Cayle gave her instructions. It was a simple set, not needing much thought at all. Power up to get their attention. Then unleash the fury of this clever strategem against the enemy. She only ever saw how it made sense practically... certainly, she would not expect anyone to laugh at its seemingly childish conception. After all, they didn't even have balloons in her village. How was she supposed to know these things were for children?
The yam farmer turned cashier went through the information on her goggles. She'd had been told that these goggles weren't ordinary ones. Certainly not like the ones she would buy from the shops by the beach. These were intelligent goggles that were more like a notepad, where one could draft plans on the fly. Or more simply, like the special eyewear worn by Brussuls' character in those spy movies she watched. Apparently, Brussuls was just one of a long line of actors who played this character, and that the films had an extensive history.
She would have to find the time to watch the others, but insofar as binging the ones covered by Brussuls' tenure, she had a pretty good idea of what the goggles and other similar gadgets could do. At least, that was what she understood of the matter. One might have been more prudent to inform her that it was a scouter, but that would bring back unwelcome memories of the war. It wouldn't help, in any case. All she knew about scouters from that time was that the Tuffles used them to reduce the risks of Saiyan ambushes by somehow finding scouts and raiders in hiding. That, and how it managed to read their power levels so they could choose to focus on the weakest warriors first.
Dishonourable and despicable.
So it wasn't hard to just go with the parallel to the James Frond gadgets instead, which did far more than just those two things. Never did it once occur to her that maybe scouters could also do other such things as what these "spy gadget" goggles could do.
Either way, her experience fighting against enemies with scouters was invaluable for these raiding actions. After all, once the Saiyan Army figured out how they worked, suppressing to ambush Tuffles - just like now - became the norm. She never did understand why they still wore them up to this day. Other than maybe fighting other people who didn't know how to suppress their power levels.
Oh, and of course, these gadget goggles were so much better. She'd never seen Tuffles make use of all this combat data on their scouters!
She watched quietly as the volley landed on the turrets, and the unsuspecting soldiers who were patrolling the edge of the waterfront. Water and hot sauce might not have sounded like a particularly effective weapon. But with the throwing strength of a Saiyan, they became lethal projectiles. After all, with enough time and volume, water could carve out canyons, if the Breakthrough Channel knew what it was talking about. A Saiyan's pure force eliminated the need for both.
The soldiers dropped like flies as the water bullets smashed into their helmets like a fist through glass. Hot sauce traveling above the speed of sound broke through composite electronic eyepieces and burned the faces behind them. Yes. It was a perfectly practical method of attack. Who would have thought that hot sauce could be so dangerous? Some of the Taco King customers thought so, if their sometimes emotional stiffness against adding hot sauce to their orders was any indication.
On Cayle's signal, Konja's power level flared. Perhaps not truly impressive in the grander scale of things, but more than enough to get their attention. The fortified network of turrets snapped their weapons in her direction, and charged up their capacitors. But they had already been struck with water. And some of the delicate circuits in these death machines were now wet. Running electricity through these was the last component. Circuits shorted out, and instead of working as intended, most of the turrets overloaded as their capacitors failed, causing them to explode.
The one exception to this was the gigantic mass driver cannon situated above the main door. While it was indeed dripping, that was no consequence to something that was apparently a repurposed submarine main cannon. Of course, it wasn't like anybody here knew that. And so, its charge-up continued unabated.
Reinforcements rushed in from the main gate, but they too were struck down by the second volley of childish but no less effective balloon strike.
Save for the giant cannon at 50% charge, the path was clear. And if Konja was going to keep her power level raised, she might as well use it. Focusing ki into her palms, she kept her eyes on the mass driver. Her energy pooled into a significantly large ball, not something she usually did as she preferred to infuse that into punches, kicks, other close quarters moves. But desperate times called for desperate measures, and she would rather not fly straight into that gun. Not after what happened the last time she tried that trick. When those MANGO war machines pointed a giant railgun down at her and she flew straight into it.
Turned out that foolhardiness ended up with her getting captured.
"Not this time!" Konja pushed her hands up at the cannon, unleashing a large energy blast that stripped the waterproof casing off and exposing the circuits to the water. Its high powered capacitor served as its own undoing, as the electronic components shorted out, releasing enough energy to obliterate the cannon entirely.
Konja stared in a short moment of disbelief, panting at her energy expenditure, before scoffing in pleasant surprise. "... the path is clear."
