He let out a predatory chuckle as the cat girl rode her motorcycle across the long bridge.
Rhubarb was more than certain this would be an easy snatch-and-grab as he perched in a nearby tree, peering down at his next hapless victim. It was a rather odd sight, to be certain—a cat riding on a motorcycle.
"Tch... all the more reason to take it."
The big Saiyan waited until she was a few meters away, then pounced from his hiding place. He landed hard on the bridge, a small crater beneath his heavily muscled frame as Rhubarb rose to his full height, towering over the approaching girl.
"Hold it right there, lady!" He held out a big hand, his Saiyan combat armor glinting in the bright sunlight that shone down on them from on high. "Crossin' this 'ere bridge requires a toll tax. So I'm taking your bike. Now, scram."
He jabbed a thumb over his shoulder, indicating he would yet permit Jade to cross in relative peace. But only if she relinquished the motorcycle first.

What a kind young man.. He was so kind, that he gave Jade his motorcycle. She'll never forget him. As she rode the bike along the bridge, the cool air brushing against her face presented a soft smile on her features. Her pink hair fluttered behind her. Well, she was smiling until this random guy popped up from behind a tree. It was pretty obvious that he was really strong, seeing how that crater appeared once he landed on the bridge. He was extremely tall.. taller than Jade. He was totally towering the pinkette. Once he stated that passing the bridge required a toll tax, Jade's eyebrows furrowed. "Huh? A toll tax?"She didn't exactly know.. what that was.. but by the looks of it, she had a slight idea. "Do you mean money, sir? I don't have any money at the moment, and next time you want some money, please ask nicely. I won't allow you to take my bike, I got it as a gift, and I'll cherish it for a long time. If you want the bike.. you'll have to take it by force."She suspected that this would be an easy knockdown and leave. Was it? But hey.. she was ready for a fight.. if he was willing to. The motorcycle came to a halt as Rhubarb predicted it would. His predatory smirk broadened on his smug, squarish face and he lowered his arm, folding them over a barrel-like chest. It was a predictable outcome to be sure. Not everyone could sense ki; those who could often understood he was no pushover. Even if his victims weren't sensitive to spiritual energy, his sheer size and persona dominated all.
She would be a fool to deny him. Yet deny him she did.
"Hrm?"
It caught him off guard when she spoke. The cat girl declared it was rude of him to attempt to steal her motorcycle from her. She mistook him for some hapless beggar, looking for a handout. She informed him if he wanted the motorcycle, he would have to take it from her. By force if necessary.
This elicited great laughter from Rhubarb, throwing back his head and guffawing in a comical fashion. Just who did this little kitten think she was? If she thought she could intimidate a seasoned warrior like him, she had another thing coming.
"Cute, girlie. Real cute."
Rhubarb stalked forward, his great shadow falling over her like a portend of doom. He leered over her, hands planted on his hips. Sizzling blue aura rose from his body like steam as his power level began to rise in response to the threat.
"I'll pretend yer stupidity has to do with the extreme heat. Yer cute, so here's to the benefit of the doubt. I'll say it one last time—get offa the bike and scram, toots. Or I'll be forced to do something you'll regret."

Jade knew that this would go into a right, so she got her mind ready for it. If some martial artist couldn't defeat her, then what does a street goon have against her. "I'm sorry, but I'm afraid you'll have to fight me for it since you want it so bad."She dismounted the bike, and left it right beside the tree that the man popped out from. His power was pretty good, but Jade wasn't afraid of his power level, and she learnt that from Misaki. Misaki was a powerful opponent in terms of power level, but Jade was skillful enough to still beat her. This.. was no exception. He looked at the Saiyan, with a slight smile on her face. "A small fight wouldn't hurt you, would it?"
Immediately, her jade green aura flared up around her, and danced around her voilenty. Her power increased immensely, and to be honest.. Jade didn't know that she had this much power at the time. It has been a long while since she fought someone. The pinkett's hair fluttered about, as she raised her ki, and once she was through, the jade green energy was still lingering around her form. You might say that she was a bit too cocky. "Come on. Attack me. Don't you want the bike?"She said, with a smirk on her face. Jade would never refuse a fight. In the moment, she quickly created a strong barrier around her body, like she always does, so that she could monitor his speed and the way he moves, while the barrier would soak up the damage. She was going to fight him. This tiny cat girl, of all people, when grown men twice her size conceded often before the bout began. It was always Rhubarb's understanding that women possessed little fear in regards to the male species. He'd known many a Saiyan woman willing to fight him to the death after he pummeled their boyfriends silly.
Too bad this knowledge served him little in the realm of dating. But that was a problem for another time. Maybe if he got this bike, he could impress a lady or two.
Never had he ever been so motivated!
"Alright!" He smashed his fists together, generating a small shock wave that rumbled the bridge as his own power level rose in response. "Time to smash me a kitty—HOOOOOOOOLD ITTTTTT!"
A mother duck and some waddlings came strutting across the bridge as if they owned it. Rhubarb held out a hand to halt their fight, nodding respectfully as they crossed in relative peace.
"If ya can't respect the duckies, yer no friend of mine." He flexed, dropping back into his stance. "See, girlie? I'm a nice guy. All ya had to do was fork over the bike, and I'd have been on my way. Instead ya wanna do things the ruff-n-tumble way. I can respect that.
I need that bike to get to West City. There's a little women's tourney comin' up, and once the ladies get a look at that bike? Boy, oh boy! I'll finally have me a date!"
Love was a powerful motivator. Even brutal Saiyan mercs like himself craved it. He launched himself across the bridge at deceptive speed, surprising for a big man his size. He rained down fists and kicks, seeking to pummel the cat into submission.

Once the 'duckies' went through, what the Saiyan said was rather.. surprising. "The women's tournament in West City?!"She said, in an obviously surprised manner. "That's where I'm heading to. I'm going there to participate, and I'm confident that I could win. You know.. I think I could drop you over there. But uhh.. first, let's get this right over with."She offered a proposal to carry him to West City. Will he accept? She wasn't exactly sure. She didn't know what a Saiyan was, and what their pride would push them to do, but.. this guy stated that he was a nice one, so.. what's left to believe, though he was still demanding for her to give him the bike. "You'll have to fight me first."
Once he charged at her, she immediately got her mind ready to make any sudden movements that she could make to dodge any of his attacks. He came at her with a barrage of punches and kicks, and to Jade's surprise, she was able to weave her way through all of his strikes and kicks. She dashed backwards, with her aura coming to life for a few moments. "Hmm.. What did you say about a date? What's a.. date?"She said, in curiosity. She heard her parents, her human guardians, doing this a few times when she was younger, but never actually got what it meant. "Ok sir. I want to tell you something.. before you think that I'm a weakling, I have much experience in fighting, but I'm still trying to find a martial arts teacher. Do you know where I could find one in West City?"While she spoke, she charged up a burning orb of jade green ki, and once she was finished talking, she aimed her tail at him, and fired it. Again, she charged another ki blast of the same properties, and fired that at him. She wanted to test if he was strong enough to actually take her ki attacks a few times, because.. her opponents from previous spars actually had a problem dodging them, except for Misaki. She moved with a seamless grace befitting of her kind. Cats were frustratingly agile, and there was no difference with this chickadee. She dodged out of his range of attack, idling questioning him about granting him a ride to West City and dating. He paused to catch his breath, great shoulders heaving up and down as he settled into his fighting stance once more. His jaw was tensed, teeth gritted as annoyance flared up within him. "The hell is this? This ain't The Scene, and I ain't grantin' interviews! Just shadd up and fight!"
The cat girl fired a pair of neon green orbs from the end of her tail. His eyes widened as the attacks soared toward him. Though he managed to dodge them, each attack managed to glance a shoulder or his side. It ate through his armor with startling ease, leaving a smoldering hole that revealed his tanned, muscled flesh beneath. He stomped his foot, creating a small crater as his fists clenched at his sides. Veins protruded from his forehead and neck, and he glared at her. "Damn it! This thing is a rental, toots! No more playing around!"
A red aura burst to life around him, swirling and ebbing around his form like a wild and living thing. He crouched in his fighting stance, staring daggers as his power built to a crescendo. He tore across the bridge like a mad man and attacked her.

Man, if those blasts caused the Saiyan's armour to be broken, then that meant that.. her blasts were really strong. Once he stated that she should 'shut up and fight', Jade didn't even hesitate to say "Oh, ok. Let's do this."After she threw her blasts at him, he charged at her, and the first thing that came to mind was to cross her arms in front her and.. that's what she did. He threw a flurry of blows at her, and they all connected with her arm. She dashed backwards, and then crouched.. trying to catch her breath, saying "Wow, you're good. But, I won't make it easier for you."In her crouching position, she yet again aimed her signature tailed ki blast at him, hoping to catch him off guard with the other, she fired another, but this time, she was standing. She remained as agile and frustratingly dodgy as ever. He let out a grunt of frustration as she slipped away from him again. He couldn't land a single finger on her, despite his increased power and strength. What the hell sort of opponent was this!? He'd crushed many foes with this combo attack, and yet he couldn't even touch her. His limbs ached from the extra exertion. He was starting to feel winded; that hadn't happened in a long time. She was giving him a good run for his zeni!
She fired off a second volley of that nasty green energy. Fatigue made him clumsy, thus he couldn't effectively get out of the way. He threw up a hasty guard just as they slammed into him with an explosion that threw him backwards. Pain lanced through his arms and chest, which took most of the blow. He hit the ground hard, instinct and experience bouncing him right back to his feet despite his injuries. He spat a gob of blood onto the ground, a hand clutched against his aching ribs.
He needed to put a stop to this, otherwise things would get embarrassing.
"It's your unlucky day, kid. I'm about to take all nine of your stinkin' lives!" His feet pounded the bridge as he charged and leaped high into the air. Rhubarb reared back with a fist encased in a volatile red energy. "Better say your prayers!"
He came barreling down at Jade with all the ferocious might he could muster. There was no way she could survive this one!

"Oh.. ok.. uhh.."Yeah, she was too much for him. Once those two tailed ki blasts connected with his arm, he was forced to the ground. This wasn't exactly expected, as Jade pretty much thought that he was really strong. But instead, he got pretty angry. After he was finished talking, he rushed at the feline girl, throwing a barrage of melee attacks at her. Because of his immense speed, instead of successfully dodging, his powerful barrage of attack broke her barrier, which caused her to stagger backwards for a few moments. It's a good thing that she created that barrier, because the impact from those hits were really strong. Jade got up from her crouching position, and looked at the Saiyan for a few moments.. This is.. I have to hold back against him.She sighed, and her aura flared up around her for a few moments, dancing violently around her. As she rose her ki, she raised both her arms and fired two jade green ki blasts. They weren't like the tailed ki blasts, as it was lack the flaring orb, and more concentration. [VI]He was hurting. He was hurting real bad. Pain lanced through his body every time he moved, much less tried to avoid her volatile energy blasts. Another pair of blasts were launched at him. They seemed far less potent than the previous but no less dangerous. The first hint of true fear filled him. He cried out in pain as he dropped to the ground, letting them soar past his head. Evading those blasts had been smart. It was a graceless move to be sure, but since when had combat been about looking pretty? Efficiency was the name of the game, and if there were one thing Rhubarb had always been, it was damn efficient. But what to do about cat girl? He sought to catch his breath, doubled over in pain as he was. One eye was shut against the stream of blood that poured into it from a cut on his brow. The other looked past her at the motorcycle. Screw this. He was going for it. Rhubarb charged at her once again as if he sought to attack at close range. Hmm.. though she held back on her two energy attacks, she still managed to knock him down. He looked.. beaten, which meant that she has succeeded in her attempt to win this fight. He fell to the ground, crying in pain. There were many bruises visible on his body, and Jade.. wasn't going to attack him again seeing this. "Hm, that was a good fight. You really packed a punch with your last attack, it's a good thing I made that-." Once she realized that he was looking at the motorcycle, she paused abruptly. A ki blast was thrown to the ground, and the smoke engulfed the area, causing the area to be.. not so visible. "What's going on?!" Immediately, she ignited her jade green aura, in order to clear up the smoke. Before the area was fully cleared, Jade could hear the Saiyan's voice, blabbering about Jade leaving the key in ignition. At that point she realized that he was on the bike. Man, what a sore loser. He lost the fight, and now he wants to steal the motorcycle? Jade.. wouldn't let that happen. She couldn't. It was the only way to get to the West City Women's Tournament quickly. Her eyes narrowed at the Saiyan as he sailed down the bridge. "Hey, where do you think you're going? Not so fast." Immediately, she charged at him, trailing him down the bridge, and once she got beside the bike, she used her tail to grab him by the neck.. not to choke him tho. [VII]He was getting away scot free, baby! The engine purred beneath him. The motorcycle was all sleek chrome, shiny where it caught and reflected the bright afternoon sunlight. Like a mighty mountain lion stalking its prey, it thundered along with a roar of dominance as tires flung grit and dirt in their wake. Those foolish enough to be in his way nearly got themselves run over. Power coursed through his veins. He let out a triumphant laugh, pumping a fist into the air—an action he immediately regretted due to the response of pain in his ribs from taking those potent blasts of energy. "Dumb cat. All she had to do was gimme the stinkin' bike in the first—ACCCCCKK!"How'd she catch up to him so fast!? Her sinuous tail snaked around his throat, crushing his windpipe. The bike wobbled back and forth as they struggled across the bridge. "Get offa me, ya lunatic!" Yes, she caught him. She wrapped her tail around his neck, but suddenly, the bike started to wobble back and forth, and Jade grew more and more impatient with this Saiyan. He was a bad man now, and bad men are supposed to be punished, right? "Why are you doing this?"Once he managed to get her tail from his neck, he fired a ki blast Jade, and Jade managed to slap it away, but.. the problem was.. if it actually hurt or not. Jade's eyes widened as she saw the Saiyan and the bike tumbling along the bridge and at this point.. the bike was slightly damaged. Why would someone so cruel exist. Jade was angry now. Well.. in other words.. she wasn't pleased. "Why would you try to take my bike? Why are you so mean?"She suddenly used her tail to try to grab him by the throat.. again, not to hurt him, but.. just to frighten him. "I'm not pleased, sir. Do you expect someone to date you with this attitude? Now my bike is all.. gone. How am I going to fix this? I got that thing as a present, and now.. now it's broken. If I see you at the Women's tournament asking someone out, I'm going tell them what happened here, understood? I gave you options, but you refused to choose any of them. He hated when a plan fell apart. The world spun like a wobbly top. His feet staggered around, head pounding as an injury-induced migraine set in. Every inch of his body ached in pain as fresh scrapes and bruises covered his muscular frame. His battle armor was cracked and broken in several places. And, worst of all, his new prized possession lay in a crumpled heap near the edge of the bridge. People blared their horns, shaking fists out of windows at the dueling pair as they drove past, annoyed at the unnecessary incident causing traffic. Rhubarb shook the cobwebs from his head, flipping them the middle finger as they drove past.
He didn't care about their stupid whining. His easy ride to West City had been ruined. Busted up as he was, no ladies were going to want to go on a date with him. The cat lady tried to grab him with her tail again, and Rhubarb swatted it away. She expressed her displeasure at him, stating she was going to tell the other women in the tournament all about how mean he was. "No, you got it all wrong, toots! Listen—hear me out!" He begged and groveled, but it was all a ploy. He grabbed a capsule from his belt and tossed it on the ground. It blew up in a puff of smoke—an odd variation of a smoke grenade, even if it were a little less effective than a real one—but it served its purpose. "Sayanora, sucker!" He ran and leaped over the side of the bridge into the murky river far blow. She had seen the last of Rhubard, the proud Saiyan mercenery, for the time being.
