Through the streets of West City and beyond, members of Capsule Corp advertise for a group of people foolish brave and strong enough to tackle the mystery of why the south district of West City had become a virtual ghost town. Radio ads, flyers, and even posts on Yamcha's List seeking any candidates that thing they have what it takes. Any interested parties were to head to Capsule Corp HQ and seek out Joan Blackford for further details - Upon your arrival you will be ushered by a tired looking blond fellow with a man bun to a small waiting area that is missing its door and some of the door frame, though it is still stocked with snacks, water bottles and a coffee machine. Juniper rose out of bed in her hotel room, she sheepishly found her way to the bathroom, and began brushing her teeth half awake. Hachi turned on the television, a news reporter revealed that a south district sector of west city had been evacuated and that drones have been unable to capture what the cause had been due to an EMP field interference. Government authorities are surrounding the perimeter in order to address the issue and are not allowing residents to return. The news anchors speculated a potential gas leak or an electrical grid issue but if news reporters were unable to enter the sector there was no explanation for press interference. What the news did manage to capture was the sudden power outage and capsule Corp personnel evacuating the local residents out of the district. With what little information was given Juniper averted her cobalt blue eyes from the television and continued with her morning routine.
Prior to her arrival at West City she crossed paths with Fenrir, Beruto, Savina, Jade, Misaki, Koma, Toma, and Riku in order of appearance. She was involved in a full on gangwar with the Devil’s cooks and still managed to settle into a grand estate at the base of the plateau in Oolong City. The tea princess returned to West City to attend more of Professor Nimoy’s lectures on ufology. It had been several weeks since she last attended a class, she was not an enrolled student, but the Professor allowed her to sit in. It was her duty as a mystic healer to find trouble in order to practice her abilities, especially people who were willing to accept her assistance, and in her nearly empty thought process she was interrupted by Hachi holding a hologram cube which projected an email from Professor Nimoy. The details involved a capsule Corp colleague by the name of Joan Blackford who was specifically seeking capable martial artists to meet at the primary headquarters in West City. While she felt no need to involve herself with medicinal science companies, she wanted to return the favor to Professor Nimoy, and made the decision to meet this person of interest.
While she typically did not skip breakfast there was no appetite to eat anything despite Hachi making her favorite rice bowl with fried egg, which she took as a bento meal instead, and scrambled out the door. Hachi kept pulling on the hood of her sweater, in her sleepy state she kept on shoving him away, and eventually the octopod succeeded in removing the sleeping mask she forgot to take off as she wore it like a headband turning heads as she walked to Capsule Corp HQ. Upon arrival she was escorted by personnel to a meeting room with a bent out of shape door, she thought it was strange that a prestigious facility kept their headquarters unkempt, and zen estate was in constant repair after the training centre was finished. Perhaps metal was something that was difficult to forge for a facility that specializes in capsules. Juniper felt a little bit grateful that the servants hired at zen acres were all capable of any task including repairing doors. A blonde man with a bun had been waiting inside, looking rather distraught with concern in his eyes, and when she read Arimor Finch’s chakras she noted the imbalance. At this point she realized that capsule Corp pill baths would not balance out the inner turmoil of man, she had the advantage of healing people emotionally apart from the corporeal, and she smiled kindly before speaking up.
“Hello, my name is Juniper Tea. I was sent here on behalf of Professor Nimoy at West City University. I am not a martial artist but my mystic powers allow me to aid capable fighters at the task at hand. I would also like to introduce my companion Hachi, he has enough spiritual energy to float and breathe our air outside of water. I am to meet Joan Blackford and offer my assistance.”
Hachi bowed while wearing Juniper’s sleeping mask playfully on its enlarged head hovering by her side without a care in the world.

While Juniper awoke from her slumber in a comfortable hotel bed, Hachi hovering somewhere nearby, the light blue haired wolf of the white desert awoke in a much different manner. Yes, he awoke in a comfortable bed; and yes, the bed was not his own. However, the bed in which the tall muscled being awoke in was not of a hotel, rather it was a bed in a hostel. The hostel was rather nice, albeit not ritzy or luxurious. The building it was based in was old, had a brick and stone exterior, and resembled some kind of castle. It stood out among the more modern architecture that surrounded it, with their tall strange globe tops and their thin lollipop architecture. There weren't really any set bedrooms given to the guests, rather there were large rooms that were outfitted with multiple beds. Aside from several rooms which were given to those that paid a bit of extra money to have some privacy; and the wolf was no exception to that particular VIP treatment. He had arrived the previous day, clad in his usual red leather ensemble, found the manager, and quickly found his way to his assigned room - the manager following along with the same starved expression of a man that had been trapped on a desert island for ten years and finally found a buffet of food that did not include a single coconut.
His bedroom was of modest size, but, it was luxurious in the fact that there was only one bed in the room and it was all for him.
His entrance into the hostel went something along the lines of:
The red leather clad man entered the building, several people turned to see who it was that was entering and their eyes fell upon the man, his leather ensemble, his light blue hair, his all but exposed chest and abdomen, and the big grin he gave the owner as soon as she walked over to him to welcome him in. The owner was an older woman, she was at least in her fifties with salt and pepper hair that was pulled back into a bun on the back of her head and pierced with two long thin pins adorned with sakura near the ends. She was not as tall as the muscular new guest and stood somewhere around chest height with him, peering up at the man with a polite smile.
"Welcome, how can I help you?" The woman queried her attractive new guest, eyes roving over him, and not just hers either.
"Oh, I can think of a few ways but currently I'm looking for accommodation," The man spoke with a polite, albeit flirtatious, tone as he bowed respectfully to the woman and smiled a big cheeky smile at her. "Do you have any rooms available? I know this is not a hotel, however, I would not mind having a room for myself. I like my privacy. I am, of course, willing to pay for the accommodation if you have it."
The woman appeared to be distracted, ogling rather than listening, though she did nod and she motioned him to follow her.
Now, hours later, the wolf awoke in his rented bed. The window curtains were closed but light streamed lazily through them and into the room. There was not enough light to blind him, but there was just enough to reveal the layout of the room and its contents. The bed, of course, being the largest piece of furniture there. There was a tall armoire as well a dresser off to the side. One nightstand stood solitary beside the bed upon which sat a lamp.
The bed was soft and the mattress was plush. It was also slightly crowded. In the middle of the bed was the wolf. To his right was a woman; she was another guest of the hostel whom had, at some point during his stay, wound up in his bed. She proved to be quite flexible during the evening. To his left was another guest; he so happened to be the boyfriend of the woman on the right. And he proved to be just as flexible, and also quite skilled in a number of areas that are best not mentioned in polite conversation over tea.
Slipping out of the bed without awakening them was not particularly difficult. They were both, from the looks of it, heavy sleepers; then again, having kept them both awake for hours deep into the night, it made even further sense to Fenrir.
He grabbed up his clothes and sauntered out of the room wearing nothing but the skin he was wearing and headed, shamelessly, into the hostel group showers. Many eyes fell upon the man as he walked naked down the hall, clothing draped over his shoulder, boots in one hand, as he stepped into the showers and washed up rather quickly and efficiently. Once he was clean, dried, and dressed, he headed down to the lobby, paid his fee, winked at the owner of the hostel - who grew redder than a fresh ripe tomato off the vine - and then he left.
As he stepped out of the hostel, he plucked a piece of paper from his pocket. It was a flyer he had printed before he arrived at West City; an advertisement on something called Yamcha List. To be honest, he found the advertisement by accident and now there he was, in West City, walking up to Capsule Corp, a certain pep in his step after a good entertaining evening.
Finding Capsule Corp took little time; especially since as he neared the building, he sensed a familiar energy signature. It was that woman again; the one he has run into several times since his first foray into the world of West City. First, he met her at a hotspring, then he ran into her again in Oolong - or Sin City as it is known by the city's inhabitants and those seeking a hedonist lifestyle there - where he learned of some kind of gang war between the Demon Duchies and the Devil's Cook's Gang. Now in West City, the two were, apparently, destined to run into each other once more.
As soon as he arrived, he was greeted by personnel who questioned his motivations for the visit. He waved the flyer and grinned and apparently that was more than enough of a response because they led him further into the facility and soon he was walking into a room with a devastated entryway - it lacked a door entirely and part of its door frame was apparently also missing which gave the impression that something did not want to be kept in or possibly could not have been kept out - but there were a pair of vending machines including one that appeared to serve MRS. COFFEE and the other served snacks. There was also a table lined with extra foodstuffs. But, none of that mattered to him as his eyes fell upon the woman he knew as Juni once again.
"If we keep running into each other like this, I'll begin to think that we're destined to be friends or something." He grinned at the woman, a familiar cheeky smile, though he did also note the small hovering octopod and he wiggled a finger at it, "Still as peppy as ever; I missed you." The wolf walked over as he pet the small hovering octopus, apparently having grown quite fond of the far from traditional companion that Juniper always appeared to have with her wherever she goes, hotsprings or tech companies.

Misaki hummed as she continued down the road to where her senses told her where Juniper was. After their little foray with Professor Nimoy, the situation had calmed down a little, and after their discussion she'd managed to calm down her energy, if only a little. it had brought up other thoughts, though... thoughts like, just maybe, looking for some sort of job with the young Juniper. Perhaps her teahouse could use it? That was why, as Misaki stepped forward, ignoring a couple comments made behind her back on her choice in fashion, and enjoyed the spring breeze, she wasn't sure what she'd run into. She had a few concerns about whether Juni might think she was pestering her, but she had already learned how nice and understanding Juniper was with their continued interaction. She was a breath of fresh air to Misaki, who had long dealt with quite the share of insufferable, emotional people who seemed determined to misunderstand every little thing Misaki said. More importantly, she was nice to flowers. Misaki briefly considered the people around her, sensing their power. Several walking by seemed to be completely without ki, and of course, a few with just a little bit of strength. Then there was, of course, her companion, Who was peppily looking at stuff. "So we're going to meet your friend? I hope she's not too bothered by my, uhm, appearance." The Pov'rel noted nervously. Misaki turned to her with a quirk of her eyebrow. "...Appearance?" "Well not, y'know, like how I actually appear or anything." "...So not your appearance?" Misaki questioned, eyebrow raising further. "Yes! I mean, no! I mean..." A small whine escaped the fallen noble as she tried and failed to salvage the sentence, before sighing, taking a deep breath, and trying again. "I mean, since I'm a stranger and all, I hope she's alright with me coming along to meet her." "Well, aren't you an heiress to a large company?" "Yeah, buuut... The Pov'rels aren't particularly well-known, and if this lady wants to talk to strong people too, I'm not exactly a..." Misaki shakes her head. "I think Juniper likes people in general. I don't think she'll mind your arrival." ----- On arrival, the two were milled quite quickly by some blonde-haired doorman towards a special waiting area, as apparently Juniper had been doing some... business, here? That, or it was just a matter of privacy. She did wonder what they were doing in Capsule corp HQ for it though. "I just love what they've done with the grass here." Misaki commented as they were wheeled in. "It has so much good to say about how well it's been treated!" Coral nodded, anxiously running a hand down her arm with a nervous laugh. "y-yeah... listen, Misaki, I think this might not just be a normal meet and greet..." "What do you mean?" "I mean... I think this is the place people were supposed to go to investigate the south district of west city... see why it's a ghost town? You know, that sort of thing?" "...Well, that would be because people aren't there anymore, right?" "Well... ]yes, but I think that's the part they wanna know the 'why' about. It could be dangerous, though." "Well, I am strong, so it will likely not be dangerous to me." "...Errrr... oh... kay then. We'll be fine, in that case. Probably. I hope." And with that, the nervous girl walked in with her confident bodyguard as they entered the same room as Juniper. "Oh, miss Juniper! It's nice to see you! and... mister Fenrir, yes? I'm sorry, it's been a little while, so pardon if I misremember the name." Misaki would say cheerily. "I came to ask you about something.." Misaki would say, motioning to Juniper. "...But it seems we have a larger order of business to attend to? Dealing with whatever's causing people to disappear in west city?" The woman would ask, before cracking her neck. "...Seems like a simple process of crushing whatever would cause it. I'm surprised this requires three people." She'd admit. "At any rate, it's good to see you." She'd add with a smile to Juniper, before looking up at the octopod with surprise. it was the first time she'd met this being, after all. "...Oh. And who is this?" She'd ask with a smile to the small octopod. "He seems really adorable." Meanwhile, Coral, looking down towards the floor, would give a blush and a shy wave. "N... nice to meet you. I'm, uh, Coral. Coral Pov'rel. Misaki is kinda my bodyguard right now, so I'll be joining you, it seems! I hope we can all get along!" The girl added with a confident voice that didn't match the nervousness in her face. [791 words] Natural power level at start of thread: 8,012 Base power level at start of thread: 12,018

"Look, I don't care if you have to make the door yourself, just get over here and replace Ms. Blackheart's break room door, Please?" Arimor Finch hung up the phone and pinched the bridge of his nose with his left hand while closing his eyes and sighing. His little liquid pick me up had already started to wear off and he was considering skiving off for the rest of the day when a young woman walked into the break room, almost making him drop his Cap-Phone. He almost dropped it again when he saw the flying octopus... but he was honestly to emotionally exhausted to react more than that. He took a moment to compose himself. Before he answered, "I don't believe Ms. Blackheart is accepting any more applicants... but since the Doc sent you I will check. One moment."
He started for the door and almost ran into a tall slender man going into the break room and he sighed. Here come more of them it seems... and I just know they'll be mad at me if I have to send them away. Not that Ms. Blackheart cares... she says that's why I'm getting combat pay for this. I'm not sure it is worth it... Yeah it is. He gave a business like double rap on the office door before he opened it and peeked his head in. Ms Blackheart was yelling into the phone, "What do you mean captured and one ran away? WELL THEY WILL NOT GET PAID. I'll see if I can find you some backup, no promises." She slammed her phone down and turned her eyes to her assistant, "Yes, Ari? What is it?"
He nervously cleared his throat, "More applicants here, Ms. Blackheart... do you want to see them?"
Soon, the blond haired man is back in the break room and if he is shocked to find 4 people waiting for him he hides it well as he says brightly, "Ms. Blackheart will see you know, please follow me."
Joan Blackheart's office is dominated by the huge teak desk she sits behind. The desk itself is covered in all sorts of papers, knick-knacks and the gods themselves only know what. Perhaps not even them though Joan seemed to have some idea as she finally looked up, her long blag hair no longer covering her impassive face. She was middle aged with purple cat's eye glasses and quite a short woman; it hardly seemed that she should need that much desk. Her analytical brown eyes swept over the four before her and she gestured for them to take a chair as her low raspy voice rose to greet them, "Welcome to Capsule Corp, take a seat. My Name's Joan Blackheart. Capsule Corp would like to thank you for taking this task of public safety on, yada, yada, yada. Please take a clipboard and fill out the waiver forms, release forms, living will, and your personal info."
She took a deep breath and leaned back in her chair, waiting for the sounds of scratching pens before she continued, "I'm going to level with you; we already sent a team in and they lost half of the team. They do believe they have found the source of the disturbance, and are standing by waiting for backup. If you agree and sign on, I will put you in touch with Dr. Grey, one of the remaining team on sight. Same deal I gave them will apply to you; a zenni award to be shared out amongst the survivors. If that sounds good, let's get this show on the road, folks. They already fought a swarm of robots and barely survived, I don't want to lose the lead bef... I mean I don't want anything to happen to them." She leaned forward in her chair, seemingly a bit agitated as she waited to field any questions they might have.

Arimor Finch turned around to reveal he was in the middle of a phone call while holding his c-phone in one hand, so she waited for him to finish, hoping he heard her introduction earlier. The sound of red leather echoing in the open hall way alerted her look over at the very familiar light blue haired man she had met a couple of times before, she listened to his words which reminded her of honey, and she watched Hachi twirl in the air in response to the affections the wolf deity had offered.
“I do enjoy wonderful friendships that last a lifetime.” Juniper smiled at Fenrir, “It seems Hachi enjoys spending time with you as well, Fenrir-san.” She removed the sleeping mask the octopod was wearing and slid it into her pocket.
The conversation Arimor was having on the phone grew louder, he was rather upset, and the doorway to the breakroom lobby area was being argued with on the other line. Eventually he hung up and addressed her, fatigued, he ran for the door but failed to notice Fenrir standing there and quickly went around through a different door.
“Certainly, I will wait here.” She answered the blonde haired man who must have been Blackhart’s assistant based on what she managed to hear from his phone call.
A familiar voice directed her attention to the mangled entrance of the meeting room, the greenette who specialized in gardening, was followed by a young woman with delicate fashion sense. The clothing in particular was well made, she was starting to feel underdressed wearing a jersey set with Hachi embroidered on the front of her chest with terry cloth, she shifted a bit demurely by placing her hands in her pockets; as a Tea Princess she felt wearing a kimono was inappropriate for traveling, now she realized she needed a more modern wardrobe, rather than a workout outfit. She offered a half bow in greeting to the two young women and smiled complacently.
“Nice to meet you Coral Pov'rel, Misaki-san has proven herself in dismantling aggressive territorial yakuza gangs in Oolong City, you are in good hands to have her as a guardian.” Her eyes motioned over to her octopus companion briefly, “This is Hachiko, he helps me paint the sigils I need to utilize my mystic powers, most importantly by the ink he makes which I transmute.”
After a beat Arimor returned, caught by surprise by everyone present, and asked to be followed to a different room.
“Hopefully with the three of us, we can work together to be of assistance to Ms. Blackheart, and claim some type of reward in return.”
The Tea princess followed Arimor into Blackheart’s office and was handed a clipboard which requested quite a bit of information including an executor for her living will; which she notated down as Pine Tea, her father. Some of the lines were left blank, she did not understand how to fill this form out without the help of a lawyer, but she did her best, and signed it. Hachi squirted an ink blot on the form and pressed one of his tentacles over it to sign over his participation.
“Will this be a rescue of Dr. Grey?” Juniper asked, the only detail she understood was that there were a swarm of robots on the loose, and it was up to them to meet with this Dr. Grey to complete the task he was sent for.

The man whom was speaking over the phone was quite agitated. His voice was growing in volume by the second and when he finally took note of the people in the room, he appeared to suffer from a rather deep grab bag of emotions - from the expressions on his face, Fenrir managed to detect both shock and annoyance as well as something that he could only imagine was a mild hint of fear - but he wound up placing the phone aside and addressing them nonetheless.
They weren't accepting applicants? Well, that was a shame. He canted his head, watching the man for a moment as he walked over to his boss' door. In the meantime, his eyes roved over his figure, not just once but several times landing on the man's backside though he did ultimately turn his eyes over to Juniper instead, as well as the hovering little octopus which, for some reason, appeared to bring much joy to the wolf. He grinned playfully and moved closer to the hovering octopod and pet it as he would a pup though he did take note of another person that showed up, no make that two people. Two women had joined them, and one of them he at least remembered. It was a name that started with an M. What was it? Mamaki? No, that wasn't it. Makisa? No, that wasn't it either. He frowned for a moment, thinking just what was her name was, and then it came to him, as if he were struck by lightning, an epiphany, "Misaki, that's your name." He pointed to the woman then turned to the other, "I don't think I've met you, however; it is still quite the privilege to be surrounded by such beautiful ladies. My name is Fenrir Vulk; I figured I would introduce myself properly. I hope we can get to know each other well," He gave a soft bow, a winning smile crossing his face as he turned to face Hachi, "And how are you too, my little eight legged friend?"
He turned in time to see the man with the man-bun pop back in. From the other room, he could hear a woman shouting. Something about someone running away and someone being captured? Well, that didn't sound ominous in any way; the wolf thought as he stood beside Juni.
When the man fully returned, as he had been half in and half out of his Boss' office doorway, he sounded almost cordial, smiling to the group of four waiting just outside Mrs. Blackheart's office as he motioned them to enter through the open door. And so, they did. One after another; albeit, Fenrir moved to the side and allowed the three women in the group to enter first before he sauntered inside and quickly found his way to Juni's side once more, peering over the rather immense teak desk at the woman sitting behind it.
"May I take a moment to say that it is a great pleasure to make your acquaintance," He bowed his head politely to Mrs. Blackheart, "The company is fortunate to have a woman of such conviction at the helm."
Once he finished speaking, he stood straight, in time to be given a clipboard with a lot of jargon on it that he didn't quite understand. Well, he understood some of it, of course. For example, the waver was standard fare; the company would not be held liable for any injury, maiming, or death that could befall upon him. He volunteered and thus he, knowing of the dangers he would face, went of his own free will and volition without being forced, in any way, by the company to do so. He signed that with a flourish of the pen. Then he noted the follow up paperwork, the release forms, the living will, and personal information. Now, that last one he filled out relatively quickly; name, Fenrir Vulk, age, that one was tricky and he just put Not Applicable, height, weight, hell he even added a space to add his other details such as hair color, eye color, and blood type. He almost added in some more personal information; namely in terms of the size of his endowment but felt that would have been crude. So, he skipped that.
The living will, he didn't fill out. For two simple reasons; the first, he had little to leave behind to anyone so he didn't find it necessary to fill out. Secondly, he didn't understand most of the legal jargon on it so he just left the whole thing blank. The release papers were similar to the waiver papers, and he signed that near the bottom though he did whisper to Juni on occasion for some advice as he didn't know what most of the paper was saying in terms of the technical legal terms as he had little to no experience with that type of stuff.
Once his papers were filled out, he placed them on the desk and peered back to Mrs. Blackheart, "Whose heads are we busting and whose ass are we saving?"

Misaki cheerily cocked her head as Coral made her entrance known, and Juniper explained their relationship.
"Ohh, so that's where you know eachother from! Beating up Yakuza gangs together-wait, actually, dial that one back, what?" The Pov'rel Heiress stated, happy confidence quickly replaced with a sagging look of horror as what Juniper actually said dawned on her. "Wait, you what? To Yakuza?" Coral asked, looking at Misaki.
"Oh. Don't worry. they started it, so it's okay."
"They started it so it's okay?" The smaller girl asked with an increasingly high tone.
"Well, not with me, but I was in the area, so I figured it'd be a good change of pace-"
"You were in the are- it was a good change of- You figured it-" Coral stammered with a look of confusion and anxiety across her face... immediatley cut off with a pink blush in the cheeks as Fenrir introduce himself.
Misaki nodded at Fenrir's exclamation. "It certainly is! It never changes!" She happile added, while Coral's response was initially cut off with sputtering. "W-wow, you, uhhh... really show off those... uhm, I mean, I'm sure it's just... the climate and all, there..." She managed, leaning slightly back as she stared quite clearly at the man's abs, her eyes tracing slowly down as they eventually met the all-too-low pantsline. "Yeah, I... Uhhh... I'm Pov'erty Coral-I mean Pov'al Cor'el-I mean, Thank you very much pleased to meet you?" The Poor pinkette added, before giving an all-too loud groan of anxious stress, and taking a short breath. "I mean my name is Coral Pov'rel sir pleased to make your acquaintance!" The girl finally managed, still very red in the face.
And at that, Misaki would smile and place a hand on her Companion's shoulder. "how about you go sit in that chair over there and bring some oxygen back into your lungs? There's probably going to be some forms that need signing."
The Embarrassed Heiress was quick to nod her head, cross her arms, and head off for the seat in mrs. Blackheart's office. The Florist gave a small hum of amusement in her direction, before looking back to Fenrir. "Looks like we'll be working together again. It's good to see you again, mister Fenrir. Now, let's get to work." SHe said with a smile, before heading in after Juniper.
Misaki smiled as Joan Blackheart continued. "Of course. We'll fill these out right away." Misaki would say, before writing her forms out in front of the woman. Contrary to her companions, she signed through quite a few things and read all the writing and lines as she went, and at one point would mutter as she reads through the forms. "I wonder if she knows how many of these wouldn't be considered legally binding in court...?" Just barely audible. As the woman continued, Misaki would give a smile. "...Amusing." Misaki would finally say, leaning slightly forward shortly after Joan finished her sentence. she'd signed everything she needed to, avoided things that she legally knew wouldn't be beneficial, and filled out her will with her money to go to a 'save the earth' foundation she happened to appreciate for it's business practices. "Could we get down to business now, please? We only need to know the location, what we're required to do, and how to save those missing... and if you keep wasting our time with justifying wherever it is you're sending us, you might let even more slip without thinking about it. I can't imagine you'd want to risk that... and I personally don't feel the inclination or interest in finding out how that sentence used to end." The Emerald-haired woman would add with a slowly widening grin towards the Businesswoman in front of her.
She figured Missus Blackheart wasn't used to being spoken to in that tone, but she was also a shrewd businesswoman, going off her position alone, and she hoped she'd pick the path of least resistance and point them in the proper direction. Assuming her pride wasn't too over-prominent, at least. This conversation was bceoming boring and tiring, and she didn't appreciate being talked to in the way she was. Coral, meanwhile, looked at her with sweat pouring down her face in horror.
Misaki's response to that was a simple "hmm." with that same smile on her face.

Joan accepted the clipboards back from them as they were handed to her, not even bothering to glance them over. She looked to Juniper and Hachi, not even batting an eye at the flying octopus as she answered her and Fen's joint questions first, "It is not strictly a rescue of Dr Grey. It is more in the nature of backup, Dr. Grey and another of his companions are alive and well but they have suffered some losses in the original party from capture and desertion. The good news is that Dr. Grey was able to use the remains of the robots to piece together a way to find the person behind this, but they wanted backup, and that's where you three come in." Straightening her glasses, she reached under a pickle jar on her desk and pulled out a remote and turned on a monitor behind her that was showing a view of the battle the previous team had fought against the robot swarm, "This is what they were facing, but I can't tell you what is going to be down in the tunnels. These robots were pieced together by someone who has some serious skills. The things he did with the transmitters is nothing short of brilliance. This is your last chance to back out."
She leaned forward and looked at Misaki, holding out a handheld device with screen and a dot showing on it, "If you're done being haughty, you can take this and go. If not, feel free to throw some more disdainful words, I have all day to listen so you can practice your edge, dear. I can put on some moody music too if you'd like. Or you can take this tracker I have programmed to hone in on Dr. Grey's phone and go help him. Your call."
Once someone takes the handset she would give them a perfunctory wave, "Good luck out there, Try not to get killed or captured. Give Dr. Grey my best."

The moment that Joan Blackheart outstretched the tracker, before finishing her sentence, Misaki had picked the device up. "Thank you. Goodbye." the Kazamiya stated with a smile, taking the device and promptly getting up without giving Joan's speech even a word or look of acknowledgemment.. Turning, she had no further concern for whatever it was that Joan had to say, and left to accomplish their mission with a prompt spring in her step. Nearby, Coral gave a look to her that could simply be translated as "Whyyyyy?!"
Shortly after, as Misaki left the room, Coral would look back to Misaki, then back at Blackheart, whilst turning entirely pale now that she was alone in the room with her. It took a couple seconds of gaping, before a quick call of "Gthmbx!" and a quick slap of her legal forms onto Joan's desk accompanied her quick attempted exit, tripping on her chair initially before quickly springing back up to her feet with a call of "I'mfine!", putting the chair back onto it's feet, giving it a short pat to show just how okay the chair was, and then running out of there the rest of the way with the look of a hare trying to avoid a hawk.
Misaki would get out of there as quickly as possible, but her pace would slow down until Juni and Fen would have no problem catching up, even at walking pace. They didn't smell of weakness and dishonesty, after all, so she enjoyed speaking to them. Unlike...
What was her name again?
...Nevermind. It wasn't important.

It was interesting to think that the situation Dr. Grey was faced with required aid from all three of them, deserting was dishonorable, and it sounded like someone was taken hostage; she wondered what the fault in the defenses might have been which would make more sense to ask Dr. Grey since he managed to escape with his life. While Juniper, Misaki, and Fenrir worked together collectively to take out gangsters successfully in Oolong City, they were all earthlings, perhaps things would prove more difficult against robots. Androids were strange beings, Juniper met two of them so far, and they were equally wary about her mystic abilities. There was a strong line between science and mysticism that did not meld well together. Until she applied her abilities on the field, she was going in blind without being able to detect chakras robots did not possess, but she felt confident along with Fenrir and Misaki who she knew were the strongest fighters.
Misaki was eager to participate but was quite annoyed at the development, when she snatched the device from Ms. Joan Blackheart, for wasting so much time trying to secure her position at Capsule Corp with avoiding legal matters. A legal battle between Capsule Corp and the Pig Demon Duchies would be evenly matched; the tea princess hoped that it did not come to that extreme and felt the mission they were tasked with was completely voluntary in the first place. Everyone agreed beforehand to be of assistance regardless of the situation, crushing the threats of the world only made them stronger, especially when working as a team.
“No one will be killed under my watch.” Juniper added as she stood up, “I do enjoy music, it would prove difficult to find the most appropriate sound track in the midst of battle, but I will be more prepared with such a device next time--maybe it will improve the mood. I have to test it sometime. You can trust that we will take care of these robots swiftly, I bet my life on it. Take care, Ms. Blackheart. Stress will wear you down, so take a breather this time, and we’ll work on those unbalanced chakras that are in dire need of treatment.”
With a slight bow, Juniper dismissed herself from the office, and swiftly followed after Misaki. After catching up to her outside, she stared at Coral’s shocked expression, she noted that was a bit clumsy in her footing while leaving. The Pinkette was practically sweating, just reading her chakras placed her in a state of panic, and while she wanted to attend to her worries the Gardner continued to lead the way towards the south district sector of West City.
