Yet another newcomer arrived, also at least as powerful as Helix himself, if his senses didn't betray him. Physically smaller than most, with a longer mop of this..hair..that the Earthlings mostly all seem to have. They certainly weren't dressed like a fighter, the same as some of these others present were, but the energy radiating off of them at least spoke louder than the impractical and highly varied Earthling fashion. Helix studied this one as they spoke, a little surprised at their casual mention and even correct pronunciation of his people, and the words they spoke made sense even as they were blunt and unusually familiar. Perhaps against better judgement, he responded to her offer with a nod.
"The ones who went ahead of us are strong, strong enough that I doubt they would need our help. Still, I understand that this one," he said, motioning towards the beastman Daiko, "has lost some of their pupils to this anomaly. I would help, if there is a need, and learn what I can about this place. I will fight with you, Earthling."
He stepped forward, again probing the strange energy flowing from the temple, studying it now with renewed interest. It was hard to deny that this place was of ill purpose at this point, and its proximity to his home was not tolerable. The smart move would have been to fall back to the tribe, gather help from the Warrior-Clan, and crush the heart of this dark power in force. For better or worse, Helix had no mind for the smart move, however. The temple was right here, with people in need just within and hesitation was not an option. As soon as this new, if temporary, ally was ready, he would walk in together with them. {299|704}

Post by Kinryu "The Shinryu" Kyto on Jan 31, 2020 23:27:22 GMT -8
Being a hybrid Saiyan who is both a descendant of Son Goku and the son of one of the most feared human assassins, witnessing this ginger haired girl Ki signature seemingly blink out of existence as she stepped through this cursed temple gate. Disappearing completely caused much angst to grow deep inside of Kinryu Kyto. Triggering him to tighten up his fists as his natural instinct to fight grew stronger. Mai-Mai noticed this and placed her hands upon one of his as she turned to face Kinryu and say. "Shinryu maybe Master Will O-Wisp is right and we should stay here with this kid and Master Daiko to help him guard the entrance.""I don't know Mai-Mai." Kinryu's face was bearing a stern expression as he found this too disturbing to ignore to simply stand there doing nothing but watch. "Cause patience is not one of my virtues."As they stood there talking with each other discussing this matter the boy who they were asked to wait for a managed to surprisingly make a Ki enhanced running leap from the main shoreline to this small islet. However before Kinryu Kyto or Mai-Mai could stop the boy he ran chasing after the girl who he called Ty into the temple. "Well Sweetie," Kinryu Kyto then turned around to see Mai-Mai's shocked face and took a moment to bend his head with a crooked smile as he crossed his arms and said sarcastically. "That settles that task."Mai-Mai looked up to Kinryu with a penancing stare. Which caused Kinryu Kyto to go silent and pausing a moment. She then reached out to grasp both his hands to say. "Shinryu this appears like black magic to me and this is looking like a very dangerous situation you are getting yourself into. Which is why I I can't allow you to do this alone. I know you have never dealt with something like this. There is no telling of what lies on the other side of that gate. So I am going with you to help guide you back home. Got it?"
"Yes." Said Kinryu Kyto as he nodded his head in an acceptance of what she is doing with him now. Kinryu maintained his hold on to Mai-Mai's right hand as they began walking towards the Temple gate. However just as they were nearly two and a half steps from the gate a woman and a tall Namekian warrior was sensed approaching. Kinryu turned to answer Helix before heading inside with his lover. "Warn anyone else who approaches not to enter because this place was made by Emperor Picco…"And before Kinryu Kyto could finish uttering the final words of the sentence both of them were simply gone. The Namekian understood every word she said, as he responded to her with a nod of agreement. He was correct, in the sense that the fighters that had just entered the temple before them were powerful. More powerful than almost anything Copy has ever seen or faced. Herself and the Namekian were not much of a match for them, but either way, power mattered little to the shapeshifter. Power isn't a true factor when it comes to fighting. The outcome of a fight depends heavily on the skill and knowledge of each fighter, in addition to how they use it. This Namekian might be aware of that, but even so, the power gap between them and the warriors here before was simply too great to ignore. Would they be of help? Probably not. But nothing was going to stop Copy. She'd made up her mind ever since she heard about this temple in the first place, knowing that whatever happens inside, she will remember for eternity.
Her sense of energy picked up the presence of two other powerful warriors still idly standing outside of the temple. They both looked human, but if Copy remembered correctly, there was a race known as Saiyans that bore an uncanny resemblance to humans. They seemed quite primitive and ruthless to Copy, but that only made them all the more interesting to her. She wasn't completely sure if these 'Saiyans' were good people, but if they happened to be a part of this world's worthless rubbish, then Copy wouldn't hesitate in bringing their end. One of the two Saiyans, or humans, or whatever, approached the temple's entrance, and gave one final look at Helix before disappearing completely with another silver haired woman.
Copy raised a single eyebrow, now realizing just how their energy simply vanished like that. It was odd, to be able to feel someone's presence, only to have that feeling completely evaporate once they leave your field of vision. Ominous... and sinister... Copy likey. She nodded back at the Namek.
"And I will fight with you, Namekian."
With that, she walked forward towards the entrance, the tiger looking beastman giving her a long, hard stare as she and Helix were about to delve into whatever dangers awaited them. The density of the negative aura surrounding the temple only made Copy more anxious. What could possibly be past this growing darkness? Well, they were about to find out, as they, along with their ki signatures, vanished from the earthly plane.

Why did he always do this to himself? Rushing through the air mid-flight, Zaru was headed towards where he felt various energies all come together and then seem to disappear from his senses, one at a time. The last time he followed something like this, he got his ribs wrecked by a Saiyan and his arm broken by an android with a club. There had to be a better method to finding out what was going on, but so far, he hadn't figured it out. Looks like he was going in head-first again, like always. Keeping his arms crossed as he flew, Zaru wondered if this would be something that was an actual danger this time, or if he was flying into some other friendly tournament. He sure hoped it wasn't another one of those; he definitely had felt Kiryu's energy around here somewhere, and he wouldn't put it past him to try and pull the same stunt twice. Instead, he was greeted with a sight that confused him. Floating in the air, Zaru watched from above as a temple stood there, one that he definitely didn't recognise anything about. He wasn't exactly a theologist, but it hardly looked like the centre for any religion he'd heard about. Not that there was much religion hanging around in Pilaf-Land apart from "fun family entertainment", anyway. Ugh. He remembered being dragged to the stupid theme parks as a little kid, one of those few times Chasnu had bothered to spend time with him at all. He didn't even go on many of the rides. It was all insults from Macad and Chasnu arguing with his wife on the phone. Zaru shook his head, realising he was getting all hung up on nothing again. This was something worth investigating; all those presences he'd felt were definitely here not long ago. He had recognised the energy of some, so he knew they weren't just random people who'd hide themselves. They definitely went into this place, had to. Why? Well, places like this tended to attract the overly curious and the dull-headed. He would put himself in the latter group for even doing this, but if anyone was in trouble, he'd feel even worse just leaving them there. In the temple it was, then. Zaru probably should've tried to check in with the beastman waiting nearby, but he didn't bother - headfirst it was. He landed at the entrance, his gi fluttering in the wind as he looked at the temple's opening with an unamused look. "Can't people ever just disappear into a friendly-looking beach house, or something?" Letting out a small scoff in frustration, Zaru headed in, the consequences be damned. Soon, he too, vanished into the temple, as though he'd never been there at all.

Post by Cayle Pota on Feb 5, 2020 3:39:05 GMT -8
Cayle was not used to being hidden in plain sight, yet here he was. The dark brown haired Saiyan stood there after hugging Tiger Lily as he listened to the words of yet another tailed Saiyan, one of the few he had seen on the planet outside of his own group, walk up and call Will O Wisp 'Master'. How ludicrous, that cat was a teenager who liked playing at Halloween too much! It was plain to all to see when they saw how he acted, but perhaps he had some people fooled.
To Tiger Lily's question, Cayle could not express words. He felt strong, healthy, spiritually fit. While he had not fully caught up on the rest he had lost during his ritual, he did not feel worse for the wear. For as they said, 'what the spirit wills, the body will do, if you are truly disciplined'. His discipline and hope to find Achido and the students of Master Daiko was so strong that he did not even begin to get angry at the sound of Lilith's voice. Apparently if one spoke Bloody Mary's name, she really did come. Cayle simply looked at her for a moment, before noticing Tiger Lily slipping from his general proximity and rushing in. Lilith followed her, and even as Kiryu spoke up that he felt something had put Cayle off as well. The Saiyan former farm boy did nothing to confirm or deny it, but simply listened to the magician-martial artist as he explained his feelings towards the place. Cayle had seen Xenomorph with Carlos Alfonso, and it was not a bad example about how this place felt. Alien, a mockery of the world around it, as if it was a fun house mirror and not an abandoned religious temple.
As Kiryu followed the same path as the drop of Saiyan Sunshine and the Wicked Witch of the South Islands the Saiyan former farm boy stood his ground on the beach. As the Cat-man Martial Artist followed, and then was followed by that over-grown boy child on spiritual energy steroids also known as Kite, Cayle stood his ground for further reinforcements and for this Kinryu to make a decision on if he was entering. As a Namekian and a human girl who smelled other to Cayle he stood near Daiko even now as he waited for at least a response, an acknowledgment of the plan. As they entered the temple without noticing him, and were followed by Shinryu and his companion Mai-Mai and yet another human who suddenly showed up, Cayle stood his vigil along with Daiko.
Then the two of them stepped out of the way of the gate. Daiko had already warned of the taint he felt feeling like something of Piccolo Daimao's ilk. Cayle had done more than feel. During his ritual, at that moment of clarity, he had seen beyond.
He saw a twelve year old version of himself, standing on this very beach, holding the hand of Tiger Lily as they looked for Achido and for Cayle's siblings while wearing a Pilaf Land branded shirt. He saw a version of himself in a trench coat with a fedora driving a speed boat with the likes of Kiryu and Bass, who were dressed similarly, bulging bags of Zeni strapped to the boat as the trio fired off blasts of spiritual energy at those damn 'World Federals' who were chasing them. The image seemed to be in Sepia. He saw himself standing over a field of crops, and a herd of livestock, back on Planet Vegeta as a meteor flew through the skies. Himself as a space pirate captain with Konja as his consort. Himself shaving his head into a mohawk daily as he practiced the disciple and studies of the Turtle School, which had freed him from the Tuffles. He saw himself in the armor of the arcosians, gleaming silvery katchin marching across the land with his banner, a potato on a green field, as he headed towards the far off tower guarded by a Dragon. He saw himself as a father teaching his children the martial arts. He saw himself studying the ways of Earth among Kakarot and the others. He saw his natural capabilities in spiritual energy manipulation being used as a great healer to the sick and the ill. He saw himself in strange garb, standing beside a pale blue angelic being and a purple cat, learning an important trade for the universe. He saw himself as a dread conqueror the like of which the cosmos had never seen.
This building felt like it was other because it WAS other. Some fragment of the 'what ifs', the 'could bes', they 'maybe sos' invading the planet's space. As those visions floated one at a time and all at once through his consciousness and between the guiding hands of the old Saiyan deity which had answered his prayers and his vision quest, he knew that. Exhausted, worn out, and guilty as he was?
He was not afraid. For what could you defeat if you could not defeat yourself? What could you know if you did not know yourself? What could you be if you did not be yourself?
Cayle was Cayle Pota. He had stood in his path and it was time to take another step. He was no longer a would-be warrior. The Paladin of his own pathos. The King who had seen beyond the veil.
Pota the Proud was his forefather's name. Today Pota would smile down upon his progeny and declare him Cayle the Courageous. Cayle the Compassionate. Cayle the Crusader.
Another Cayle waited on the other side.
Before he stepped through, he sent another text message, giving an update and coordinates once again to Jack Aspic, the Tuffle-Saiyan hybrid who shared DNA with him, and to Konja Korm, the Saiyan who was the closest thing he had to a best friend or a sister- the only connection he had close to his own village and ancestry from the times of the Planet Plant.
“Come and See. Come and see. A threat awaits us all here if it is not stopped. Myself and some others are aiming to stop it, to free our friends. They took Achido. Come and do more than simply see. Come and help. I can't think of anyone else better qualified to face the shadows of their own psyches. If you don't make it and don't see me again, I was not as strong as I thought.”
With his message and a few minutes passed for him to make sure it sent, the icy blue eyed Saiyan tossed the phone to Daiko and headed up the steps to the temple. “More help may yet come.”
Without another word, or a moment's hesitation, Cayle Pota, son of Pota Potaset – he strode into that multiversal finger trap.

Cade studied the entrance to the temple as he approached at a measured pace, giving himself time to get a feel for the place. He didn't really like the look or feel of this place at all... but his friend had went in there... and as from what he could tell no one had come out to tell tale of what the hell was going on in his place. He wasn't really sure he should be going in after Keeryou... but he couldn't leave a friend in a lurch. He moved around the edge of the crowd and trotted up the stairs where there was a Tiger-kin beastman standing at the entrance. He seemed troubled and resigned to letting people in... a large saiyan man was entering in front of Cade, in fact. He ran to try and catch up with him... but he was in the shadows and gone before he could reach the top of the steps.
He tried to peer into the entrance to see the recently entered Saiyan... but the light of the sun didn't even seem to penetrate the darkness... which wasn't the way light was supposed to work. he scratched his head in confusion... this kind of stuff was over his head. He reached out and put his hand into the shadow and watched it all but disappear from sight even that close. He pulled his hand back out with a panicked look on his face and looked down at his hand.. it seemed to be fine. So... people could probably walk back out, but something must be keeping them in there.
He turned back and took one last look at the shoreline... the beautiful blue waters and dancing light. He was nervous that it might be the last time he would see them. He caught the tiger man starting to stare at him like he was going to try to stop him from entering, so Cade decided to just take the plunge. He straightened his shoulders and walked into the dark entry of the shadow temple, muttering determinedly, "Here I come, Kiryu ol' pal. If you don;t need help, you can maybe help me get outta here, I hope."

Post by Duke Satan on Feb 8, 2020 15:20:08 GMT -8
It was no longer a mystery that powerful martial artists stepping on this island would soon see themselves vanish entirely, anyone with a working ability to sense energy could glean just as much. Which, perhaps ironically, or maybe in a mousetrap principle, only seemed to attract more martial artists to fall into the endless pit. Some would make their way to the island with the powers of flight, some strolled towards the temple standing in the center at a more leisurely pace. The Duke of Satan, on the other hand, landed before the ancient reemerged structure in a helicopter. A few weeks have passed since Satan City, the capital of Earth's martial arts, has launched and begun to attract thousands to test and improve their might in its facilities. It was amazing to see his lifelong dream finally come to reality... but, on the other hand, it was almost like this success left a hole in his heart which the Duke has since struggled to fill. He still had goals and dreams, sure, Satan City had yet to be expanded as far as it could possibly be and he still wanted to witness humanity finally take off into space and prove itself on the galactic arena... but that is very, very far off, and as the matter stands right now, Duke Satan was essentially aimless. Which is why he opted to take himself out on an expedition. Earth is vast and beautiful, and it's only right for someone who has the strength and the skills to travel from east to west, from north to south, and experience thrills no ordinary person could ever experience. And the rumors of an island which emerged from the ocean and which mysteriously vanishes all who enter the temple in its core was no better thrill than any. It couldn't possibly be a some sort of trap, or a creature so powerful that it could eat powerful martial artists for lunch. As far as the Duke was informed, some really powerful people stepped on the island and vanished all the same, with no signs of combat. People this powerful do not fall for simple traps, and even if they do, they're strong enough to survive them. Which meant it was now Duke's turn to fall to curiosity and make his way over here. As soon as the helicopter touched down on the heavy blocks of stone before the temple, the eccentric noble turned mayor of his own city hopped out, striking a wide, toothy smile and fixing his sunglasses somewhat. As soon as the rotary motors of the machine halted, all sound around them ceased, aside for a few chirps coming from the trees surrounding them. This really was as far from civilization as they could possibly get. Yes, they. Because today, the Duke had a person tagging along with him. Martial artists joining the Satan City community were aplenty, some veterans of the art, some completely new and thus searching for a master, and what better master you could find than the scion of the hero of Earth, Mister Satan himself? {Spoiler} The youngster's name was Miu, and he certainly had some talent, even though he had a lot to learn before he could claim to be a successor to the martial art passed down by Mr. Satan. Especially in his character department. The teen was so meek and unsure of himself that he cowered behind the towering, muscular Duke, making sure that nobody is trying to ambush them. " Relax, kiddo, all the disappearances were inside, nobody's gonna ambush us here!" the Duke exclaimed after a jolly laugh, then fixed his sunglasses and stepped forward with a confident grin. The entrance of the temple was before him, and both his mind and body were ready for anything that awaits. And, he couldn't lie, he was actually getting excited. Will he find a terrifying monster terrorizing the island? Enormous treasure? A giant secret party which he for some reason was not invited to? Lots of pretty girls? Or... [675 words]

Post by Misaki Kazamiya on Feb 11, 2020 3:30:04 GMT -8
"Misaki, please... are you sure about this?" A small, pleading voice whined, one hand on Misaki's shoulder.
"...I did say I would do this, did I not?"
"yes, but that was before Everyone who went in here disappeared!" The young Pov'rel whined, though... it seemed less focused this time.
"...Well, what if that is fine?"
The smaller girl blinked, as though suddenly slapped in the face, and her voice took an oddly serious expression.
"...You don't mean you're fine with this being your ending, do you?" The girl asked in an uncharacteristically serious tone.
"...If that is the place this road takes me, then my story was never meant to be very long to begin with, don't you think?" Misaki offered with her trademark smile, expecting a worried stammer or anxious glance from Coral. If this was to be where they parted ways, then perhaps... so be it? She couldn't blame the girl, but she wasn't stopping her either. Instead, her face grew firm, suddenly stern.
"...Misaki. You don't have to do this. Certainty can... can hurt if it's misplaced. What if something happens to you." The young Pov'rel asked with a frown. "...You have friends now. Close ones, no less. People who care about you. if you leave that, you rip that from all of them. They lose you, and that hurts. A lot."
Misaki blinked a few times in surprise. this was something unexpected to hear from her companion, let alone so stoically. All of the usual whininess and bluster had bled from her voice, and the stare she gave Misaki matched her own in terms of steel.
"...Even so, I said I would come here. I can't back away from fear. Besides... there are people that may need help in there. Shouldn't I do so?" Misaki asked. "...At least, I promise I'll be careful."
Coral's eyes turned wide, blinking once, twice, three times, then a few more in quick succession like she couldn't believe what she was hearing. "...Wow."
Misaki raised an eyebrow.
"...Sorry, it's just... you really remind me of someone I used to know. That in mind..."
Coral gave a shrug.
"...If you really are like that chowderhead, I guess you're not going to budge on this one, are you? It's useless trying to convince you not to do this... so just... be careful. Don't let anything or anyone force you to be someone you're not. And... I'll be along every step of the way to make sure that happens."
Coral offered a hand to Misaki, before giving a slight blush. "f... For safety. Because I don't wanna get split up. That's 'all I'm implying I swear!" The Pov'rel sputtered, causing Misaki to give a giggle.
"Of course. I didn't think anything else of it. Shall we go?"
The Pink-haired companion nodded firmly, before looking to the Temple's entrance...
Even so, as they entered the looming darkness, Misaki could've sworn she heard someone whisper...
"Gods, it's weird seeing this from the outsi-"

Baccer's been travelling for a few days, getting closer and closer to the place where the ominous aura seemed to be aminating from. He felt re-energized now that he had gone and seen a couple things close to the southern lands. However even he could sense that there was a menacing feel about this place. It was rather... unsettling. But the bio-android was nothing if not curious. he decided to try and locate the sourse of this malicious aura. While he was travelling, he reached a place in the shoreline where a giant temple could be seen, portruding from the ground. Yeah, this definitely felt like the source. Baccer was intrigued, if a little intimidated by the temple. But it definitely seemed like something he HAD to check out, and this he began approaching
In his ascent, he thought of what this place could be, what it meant. He knew humans built temples, but this one was different somehow. As he ascended the steps, he noticed a lone form standing in the entrance for the temple. Raising a brow, the bugman approached the tiger-man standing in the arch. It was definitely an interesting sight. This dark temple, radiating eving energy, and the immovable form in front of it. Baccer eventually made his way to the arch, looking around for a moment before adressing the man "Huh, i didn't expect to encounter anyone here. Much les anyone that wouldn't just attack me on sight. Tell me, who are you and why are you here?" at that point Baccer didn't know if this man was affiliated with the temple or just a passerby like him. However the resoltue way in which he was standing indicated that he had some sort of busines with the temple. What that was, and wether this man was a friend or foe, was still to be determined. Furthermore, it was still uncertain wether or not Baccer should even enter the structure, or if he would even find anything of note in there. But for now those thoughts could wait. For whatever the man's words or actions brought with them, Baccer was ready to face

Post by Konja of Clan Korm on Feb 12, 2020 5:26:01 GMT -8
It was unusual for Cayle to ask for help in this particular fashion. Which was to say, texting in a way that seemed almost poetic if you paid attention to such things. Normally, if he wanted Konja in on some task, it would be a simple, straightforward one. Though for the most part, that consisted of the occasional adventure which may or may not have involved fighting.
It was odd, at first, but it seemed that this work for Taco King and paying attention to expanding her financial acumen may have started eating into her training time. It was embarrassing, and a challenge to admit, but her dear best friend and... well brother, was the best way to put it... he was doing a much better job at setting aside time to train than she was. Sure, her skill and power had grown some, since her last fight with the Baron, but not to the extent that Cayle had gotten.
She was left behind by his own progress. And her Saiyan blood chided her for engrossing herself so much in becoming a great farmer and employee that the core of her race had been neglected. Not that she wasn't excited to be called up to participate in another such quest, but a certain pressure had begun creeping up on her from behind.
More than the excitement, though. More than the pressure... was trepidation.
"They took Achido," the message said. Even Cayle stated that he might not return. It was as if someone tied an impossibly heavy loadstone around her heart and dropped it into the ocean. It wasn't that the threat was significant enough that even Cayle could conceivably fail. No true Saiyan would be afraid of such a thing as superficial as an overwhelmingly powerful foe. Pride crushed, perhaps, as it trampled them into humiliating oblivion. But never afraid. Only ever growing excitement at the prospect that such an enemy exists.
No, the fear stemmed from the possibility of losing two of the few friends she had at all. A new world, endless leagues separated from Planet Plant. A new time, centuries removed from the days of King Vegeta and the war with the Tuffles. And new opportunities for meeting and fighting people. No way was she going to let this thing... whatever it was... take them away.
As she neared the coordinates on her phone, an increasing sense of foreboding swept over her. A force resonating from beneath the clouds like a tide washing over the vulnerable sand on the beach. An overwhelming power. So this was what they were all up against. It was certainly something new...
Konja dropped out of the sky like a meteor, crashing into the sand with an explosion resulting more from her still getting the hang of flying and landing, rather than any attempt to make a flashy entrance. Dusting herself, the Saiyan stood back up to see what looked like some sort of ancient temple. The only thing she could compare it to was one of the structures in the King's Capital, also a temple. But the basic layout was where the similarities ended. King Vegeta's temple, dedicated to the old Saiyan gods, was pristine from freshly hewn and polished stone. This one was old, worn, covered in green splotches of algae from the bottom of the sea.
Whereas the Capita's Temple shone brightly with jubilation and reverence, this one reeked of dark and worry. King Vegeta's temple was a monument to those who in spirit, guided the Saiyan race into a glorious future. This paid homage to the unknown, and the unknown would be the enemy here...
Konja cracked her knuckles and stepped into the darkness, where she would see if she could find Achido, or even meet up with Cayle somehow. And yet, that wasn't what she would see. In the black depths, vague images met her vision. Like the dim scenery of a dream, where lighting a torch did nothing to brighten the darkness, these visions emerged. Different times, different places. Some familiar, many alien.
These were all about what she might have been, or something like that.
One where she succeeded in her mission to destroy the Tuffle outpost and rose to inclusion among the King's Elite, elevating the Clan to greatness. One where the Tuffles attacked Korm Village and took her and other children, as well as the elders, while the Militia marched unaware to the Capital. One where she and Cayle awakened on a whole Planet Aspic, which had since been settled by other races, only to be separated later on. One where she met King Vegeta's scion on this same Earth and swore fealty to her, becoming her most trusted enforcer. One where she and Cayle were awakened by a diminutive yet powerful horned creature, and served as his minions in conquering the Great Sea of Stars - the "galaxy", as they called it. One where she was born and raised on this Earth as nothing but a farmer striving to get by, using machinery such as tractors. One where she kept her tail, mastered the Great Ape form, and through it ascended to the power of the Legendary Super Saiyan...
One where she learned a different form of close quarters art, which led to her making use of swords primarily. Where she descended to the depths of hell itself to retrieve a special sword at the behest of an alien god, to use as her own. Where she commanded this mystic sword and multiplied its number, that she could make it rain swords...
That was... certainly different.
It seemed that as each vision went by, the next before vivid. Perhaps this was what Cayle meant. To be qualified to face the shadow of her own psyche. Perhaps the enemy she would eventually face, the agent of this temple, would be one of these visions... these dark reflections of herself that became something else... She cracked her knuckles again. Whichever of these other selves she would face, it wouldn't matter. She would overcome her or die trying.

Post by Vidar (PROJECT: RAGNAROK) on Feb 14, 2020 17:24:44 GMT -8
How long had Vidar been running? He had lost track of the hours since he began, since he first read the message from the man named Cayle Pota, the owner of the Taco King restaurant whom he had met quite some time ago. He had been a rather friendly person, albeit not a very useful one when it came time to explain things as Konja had been more helpful in that endeavor than Cayle was. She had also been quite easy to speak to, even if they hadn't had much of a chance to speak to one another during their short adventure dealing with pirates and lost technological treasures.
Konja had also proven herself to be a capable fighter; Vidar had manage to record the woman's fight, watching her and recording her and saving the file to his HUD, as he had several others that were there, including Cayle.
Still, the message had been somewhat troubling; Achido, a name that Vidar did not recognize, apparently was in some form of trouble, and he was asking others for help.
Now, there he stood. The blonde cyborg was at Pilaf Land but as soon as he arrived, something felt different, something felt off. Something was not right. It was a strange feeling in the air; it sent tingles down his spine, stabbing chills raced throughout his body.
In fact, the strange feeling felt oddly familiar, though he could not quite put a finger on it. Onward he went, as he detected several familiar power levels; quite a few he did not know, and some he did, all collected in one area in the direction that he was headed. Up ahead he could see there was an island, but something about the island felt off and his instincts were screaming at him to turn back, while - for once - his HUD remained absolutely silent.
He approached with caution; the closer he got, the more familiar the feeling became until he saw the thing that, he could only assume, caused the strange tingling in his body, caused his instincts to demand he run, and caused the air to almost vibrate with a certain indescribable, almost palpable, thrumming that now his HUD was beginning to pick up and alert him to.
The thing was hard to miss. Although his eyes and his scanning sensors wished that they had missed it. It was a structure, a strange looking one - well, strange was not the best way to describe it but it was one of the ways that Vidar would describe it - made of some kind of black material. As his eyes trailed over the large architecture, his scanners causing his yellow irises to glow a searing golden, his HUD attempted to scan just what the make of the material was. It was a material he did not know but the closest that his scanners could compare it to was something similar to obsidian. It had a similar color, and as he looked upon it, it almost appeared as if it was devouring any light that hit the structure. Or better described, it appeared as if any light that touched the structure appeared to simply vanish within the hungering maw of the black shadows that appeared to comprise and surround the black architecture.
As his eyes continued to sweep over the building, and he scanned over the architecture's details, he attempted to take pictures and video. Though as he tried, he began to get error messages. The camera refused to take any photos, citing some kind of malfunction, and as he looked over the building he couldn't help but feel a strange desire to turn away; to look away from its odd angles, the pitch black color, and the non-euclidean architecture which caused his head to throb strangely.
Now that he thought about it, this temple reminded him of the temple that he had seen when he ended up on that hungry island with Riku some time ago.
That's what he was feeling. That's the familiar stabbing in the back of his mind, the strange pulsing in his head, and the reason why his electronics were behaving strangely. This temple was very much like the other one; unnatural.
Something caught his eye, something that didn't cause his sensors or his mind to glitch or attempt to forget it saw what it saw. It was a tall muscular male, though he looked like a tiger but on hind legs. He was also clad in some form of martial artist clothing. While Vidar knew that Beastmen existed, he had not really met any up close - the strange anomalous fish creatures from the hungering island did not count as beastmen no matter how fish-like they appeared to be, as they also didn't count as human either, they were just other - the tiger appeared to be the most normal thing around.
So, Vidar slowly made his way over to the muscular tiger.
"I see that you too were called here; I assume that Cayle sent you a message?" The tiger looked the cyborg man over, though with an expression that betrayed his concern whether or not this individual would, or should, really be allowed into the temple. The blonde man only had one arm for Pete's sake.
"This place, what is it?" Vidar shot one short glance to the structure behind the tiger, though he quickly pulled his eyes away from it.
"It's dangerous, that's what it is. Still, I assume you're here to help find my students. Several other people already went in ahead of you," the tiger peered back at the structure.
So that's where the familiar energy signatures went. They went inside of the structure.
"Then I'll follow suit." Vidar began to make his way toward the temple; even if looking upon it and its odd angles caused his mind to want to turn around and go in the opposite direction.
"Be careful in there." The tiger called out behind him.
"I'll bring your student back." Vidar replied back.
