Jade, having nothing to do, walked around the area for a while. It was pretty cold, even though it wasn't snowing. She wore her black hoodie jacket and a mini skirt, and yes, her tail was exposed to the cold weather, trembling. She stood on the sidewalk, looking at the other side of the road, twirling her tail around her leg, saying "Oh my god, where is that clothing store? I really need that new jacket."She needed a new jacket because the one she had was damaged, and she liked her jackets neat. Which is why she takes off her jacket before participating in any form of combat. She continued walking, for about five minutes only to see the clothing store, in which she was searching for. She sighed, and went into the store. It was pretty big. She wanted to buy a bright coloured jacket this time, as she had too many black jackets at home, but she mostly preferred a jade green jacket. Finally, she spotted the hoodie jacket that she wanted. She looked at it and smiled, before taking it from the rack, and bringing it to the cashier. It cost about a thousand zeni, but instead of using cash, she used a card instead. After which, she stepped outside of the store with the shopping bag. I don't have anything to do at home. I would really like to.. fight right now. I'm bored. I wish someone would come and fight me.
Those random thoughts came to her mind, but why? It was weird to her at all though, as that normally happens with her. Zaru's face looked flat and bland, but on the inside he was irritated. He actually looked like a normal person from how he was dressed, in a white shirt and jeans with a brown jacket over it. His hands were shoved in his jacket pockets as he tried to think about how he was gonna do this. Lina, annoying she was, had managed to somehow wrangle him into this stupid bet, that he couldn't find some random person and get through one session of teaching them martial arts. It couldn't be that hard, could it? It wasn't like he was going out of his way to be a sensei, or something like that. All he'd do is teach some basic moves or something. Actually, maybe he could find someone who already knew a thing or two, and just get some exercise out of it. There had to be some other people around Central City who knew martial arts, right? There was a tournament here not that long ago, so there had to be. There was a park just nearby, so he started heading in that direction. As he did, Zaru's attention was caught by someone sitting on a bench nearby. It was a girl, one of those 'beastpeople' types. He could mostly tell from the ears and the tail. Seemed like something was bothering her, but it wasn't like he was the best at reading people like that. The important part was that he could sense there was already some ki flowing in her, so she had some idea of what she was doing. Maybe this was the kind of person he was looking for?...Yeah. Yeah, he figured she was. "Hey, lady." He figured she knew enough already, but it was a decent opener just so he had an excuse for the fight. "Want to learn some martial arts? I bet you know what you're doing already, a bit." Zaru just began walking to the park, not waiting for an answer. He assumed she was following. The bald man stopped in a large opening in the park surrounded by trees, which was clear enough and had nobody there. It would work for them. While she sat there, something that was extremely unexpected happened. A random bald headed man was trying to get Jade's attention and once he did, he approached her and asked if she wanted to learn some martial arts. She already knew martial arts, and because of this, she looked away. But then she realized something. "Wait, what is that power, and who is it coming from?"
She said to herself softly, and then she looked at the man again, only to realize it was him. He walked in the direction of the nearby park. Assuming that she was supposed to follow him, she got up and said "Hey, wait for me."
She might haven't said that loud enough, but she still ran, in order to catch up to him. Once he got to a large open area in the park, he stopped, saying that this area is ok and that his name is Zaru. "Oh, my name is.. Jade."
As shy as she was, she twirled her tail around her leg for a couple of moments. Soon after he went into his fighting stance. A weird stance that she has never really seen before. "Wait, aren't you gonna like.. wait until I say that I'm ready?"
After which, she took off her sweater, and laid it on a bench that was close to where they were. After which, she flared up her jade green aura for a few moments, and after which assumed Yamcha's fighting stance. WC: 246 | 318 {BATTLE INFO -JADE}

Zaru had assumed that Jade was following, because if not, then he'd have just taken the walk in the park anyway. That, and he could sense her ki behind him as he walked. He wondered if she'd figured that part out of martial arts? It was possible she wasn't someone who'd done anything formally. Still, she had to have some instincts about it, even if nobody had ever instructed her. A normal person wouldn't just follow him at his request, whether they knew who he was or not. He was kind of curious about her, now; she didn't seem like a local to Central City, so he was wondering where she could possibly be from. She didn't seem like a normal beastperson type, even if he'd assumed that at the start. Out from the Pig Demon Duchies, maybe? There were people like that out there. "That's why I haven't hit you yet. I was waiting for you to be ready." He sighed and went out of his stance to a more typical standing position, cracking his neck from side to side and beginning to stretch a bit as Jade draped her jumper over a bench and seemed to ready. The moment he saw her stance, a small smirk appeared on his face for a blink of an eye, before he went back to the resting, flat scowl that his face seemed stuck in. "You're from the Desert, huh? Let me test what you already know first, then. I'll take it easy at first, but I'm gonna come at you now."" He gave her a moment to consider it, and perhaps to voice any objections. Once the moment was over, he rushed forward at her, at an incredible speed for most people. Of course, Jade would be able to make out the speed he was moving at. This was much easier thanks to her not being most people. He seemed to stop himself as he got close to her, his right hand coming forward as though to strike her face. He stopped his arm short to try and make her flinch, as his left fist came up with his real attack; he attempted to land a powerful strike to her stomach, to see how quick her reactions were. Apparently he was waiting for her, and this is the reason why he didn't attack her yet.. which is weird. Why would you assume your fighting stance if your not ready to start the fight? Well, after she powered up for a few moments, he asked if she was from the Desert and stated that he would go easy on her, as he wanted to see what she knew so far. "Yes, I'm from the Desert.. why did you ask?""Ok, but I won't hold back."He immediately rushed at the cat girl, stopping his fist in front of her face, and then aimed a punch right at her barrier which she made with her ki. It broke. The impact of this hurt slightly, making her stagger. "You're really strong. Ok, I guess it's my turn now."She dashed backwards throwing two ki blast at the bald headed man. She didn't know if she could impress the man for a change, but at this point, she was trying her best. WC: 170 | 773 NB. I didn't add the words in my last post. Zaru was impressed that the girl's barrier of Ki seemed to protect her from his strike; though it wasn't a dangerous blow or anything, it was still a precise strike, and for her to hold it back showed a level of talent quite a bit beyond your bog-standard martial artist. She didn't look old enough for it to be purely from hard work and training either, so she must have had a natural gift for this, if he had to guess. She was faster than he expected, along with that. Before he could follow up, she'd already bounced back and was readying up to attack him back, which was intensely interesting. Instinctively, Zaru hopped to the side and began sliding across the ground on his feet as he kept his eyes on Jade, his disciplined evasive manouvres trying to take over. Thankfully, he had enough of his own mind to stop dead when he saw the energy blasts coming at him. He was trying to test something about her, maybe teach a thing or two - yet, as he realised they were coming at him, he couldn't dodge as easily as he would have assumed. Even if she'd taken a fighting stance, it was Jade's ki that stood out to him. They were incredibly fast shots, and even just feeling her ki from here gave him the impression of her power. Instead of trying to rapidly get out of the way, he brought his arms up in an 'X' shape in front of him, hoping to feel that power for himself. As the ki blasts collided with him, Zaru was engulfed in smoke. He remained still, his own ki protecting him and keeping things almost entirely intact. The one difference were the marks on his arms; where her blasts had impacted were minor burns on Zaru's skin, the kind he hadn't felt in a good while now, not even against some opponents in tournaments. Behind his guard, he let out a grin. For once, he wasn't pleased with himself, but somehow pleased with someone else. "Jeez. You have a talent, you know that? Let me step it up a little."Zaru's aura burst around him for a moment as he began to focus it on keeping him from harm for a little bit more; he wasn't planning on going crazy or all-out in this spar. To her surprise, she actually got a hit in him, and she felt proud of herself. This was her actual first spar since she has moved to the city, and she has full assurance that this would be fun. Once she threw ki blasts at him, he was forced to cross his arms in a 'X' shape in front of his face. Once the two ki blast connected with the bald headed man's arms, the smoke from the blast engulfed him, causing his shadow to be the only thing seen. Once the smoke cleared up, his arms were still crossed, but there were minor burns on his arms. She didn't exactly expect that to happen, and wanted to say sorry, but then remembers.. it's a fight. Someone has to get hurt, and that person might be her. She could see the grin on his face, behind his arms, and she felt good about that, especially when he commented about her having talent. He indicated that he was going to go out a bit more, and once he said that, Jade got her mind ready to react, once he was ready to strike. He rushed at her, and pulled back his arms while doing so. Jade was observing what he was doing exactly, when he first attacked her. He tried to distract her with one fist, and gen fired the other, attempting to punch her unexpectedly. Jade didn't plan for this to happen again. She didn't pay attention to the first which was pulled back, but instead looked at his legs and the other fist. Apparently, he tried to kick her near the ear, and using her quick reflexes and her flexibility, he somersaulted in order to dodge the attack. She actually dodged it.There was a moment, however fleeting, when a smirk crossed Zaru's face as his sparring partner's head barely avoided his leg, perhaps catching the breeze from his attack. Even still, she was fast enough to move away before he even had a chance to follow up. As much as he'd just figured he would teach some person who'd picked up at most, how to throw a punch, how to get some basics of martial arts, he'd found someone quite different to that. This cat lady, if there wasn't a better phrase for it, was someone who not only had potential, but a good amount of experience with it, it seemed. Nothing formal, from what Zaru knew of the various styles across the continent so far. Most likely with fighting for survival, especially if she was from the Great Desert and picked up that stance. Still, there wasn't much point in speculating. Sitting there and guessing rather than taking this seriously was a kind of...disrespect, almost. Usually, it wouldn't have mattered, but she was clearly a fighter, even if not necessarily a martial artist. He'd show that he recognised that, then they could get back to the training part. Well, maybe next time he wouldn't go for a full contact spar like this. Perhaps he really should've started at the basics. Zaru landed calmly as his opponent dodged away, and stood still, almost looking indifferent as the energy blasts came rushing towards him. Rather than move, he stood still, not even raising his arms. He wanted to experience this, full force. Both energy blasts struck the bald martial artist, causing a couple of small explosions as smoke once again surrounded the area that he'd been standing in. A small glow began to come from inside the cloud as Zaru spoke, still loud enough for her to hear. "I shouldn't be taking it easy on you at all. You're the real deal, huh? Alright. Again, he stood there, for some reason, taking the two ki blasts head on. He didn't even cross his arms. It was rather..puzzling for Jade. She wondered why exactly he wanted to take them head on, even though they caused slight burns on his skin. Anyways, the smoke engulfed his figure once again. She could only see his shadow at this point, and by the looks of it, he didn't gaurd. He stood there, and complimented her about her performance yet again, but stated that he shouldn't be holding back against the feline girl, and immediately, he rushed from the smoke that surrounded him. Once he was near enough, he threw a punch at her, which was pretty fast. It flashed before her eyes pretty quickly, and soon as she knew it, BAM! It connected. In the moment, she tried to get her mind ready for another attack that he might try to hit her with. She couldn't really see anything at this point, as it looked like a blur. She attempted to raise her hands in front of her face, and surprisingly, that's exactly where the other punch was aimed. She managed to guard the attack, but took the full force if the impact, that threw her to the ground. She ended up sitting on her tail.. and it did hurt, but she didn't plan to blame him for this. Once she got up, she looked at her tail for a few moments, and then turned to Zaru, saying "Woah, you're really strong. You see, I'm not too much of the punchy type, so.. I'm gonna do what I'm good at.. throwing ki blast. I realized that my aim's pretty good."

The comment made Zaru feel a tad puzzled. Stick with what she was good at? He hoped that wasn't what he thought it was. To him, it almost seemed like she was content to be as she was, but that just wouldn't do. The martial artist stood there still, lowering his arm after she started getting up. He sighed, cracking his neck from side to side. He had one more idea for encouragement; hopefully it'd work. This girl probably viewed fighting a bit more casually than most, but he wanted to leave her with something to chew on. "You wanna be a martial artist? There's some great teachers out there. Someone like you, you could go real far. You've already got game with ki that most people have to train for years to figure out. Get some fundamentals under that and you'll fly." Literally too, now that he thought about it. Most people hadn't ever figured out the old sky dance technique, but it had come naturally to him. Come to think of it, he'd never really had the fundamentals most had, either. He'd taught himself, either by watching or goading the ones who did get actual instruction into beating him up, so he could figure it out. He learned something, and they got a scolding. It was always a win for him. As Jade leaped back, firing yet more ki blasts, Zaru's aura began to almost bubble in its power. "I'm gonna leave you with something to remember. The blasts flew towards Zaru, and it almost seemed as though he sidestepped the first without moving, as though the motion had been easy to miss. As the second approached, he simply lifted his hand and stuck it out, allowing the blast to impact on it. Once more a small explosion caused smoke, which dissipated quickly. This time, Zaru was nowhere to be seen. Where the martial artist had stood, there was some torn up grass that the explosion had singed, and a spot where he had been just mere moments ago. The martial artist reappeared behind where Jade was, floating slightly in the air, his leg already raised. He came in with unnatural speed for another roundhouse, aiming it downwards to try and send her flying into the ground without warning. He remembered being taught this lesson once; maybe she'd get even more out of it than him. He didn't discount the possibility that maybe she'd somehow avoid this again; she was full of surprises already. That was why he was so interested in seeing how she took this. Jade thought that he got pretty angry, when she saw him cracking his neck from side to side. He probably thought that Jade could've taken more but to be honest, her energy was dying out. He talked about her, and her potential. He also stated that this skill that she had can be enhanced once she trains and be determined, in other words.. She could learn anything and everything from one. Once Jade threw the ki blasts at him, he was saying something.. something about having a martial arts teacher to tutor her. He sidestepped the first one and used his arm to block the other. After which, his figure disappeared for a second, and once she got a chance to turn around.. BAM! Two punched went straight at her, and they threw her to the ground. She didn't really have much energy left to actually fight this guy anymore. Once she got up, she said "Ouch! Where was all of that power from before? But ok. It's pretty nice to fight someone as strong as you. I'll fight you once more. I'll train hard. I'll be strong enough one day to show you my progress. But for now, I'll take my leave. I'll see you.."
