The statuesque man at the gate had turned his eyes to Fenrir. His eyes were dark and they did not show to be any warmer than the air whistling softly around them, the air that was currently stabbing icicles into the bodies of the people on the street and causing them to bundle themselves up in their coats and their scarves and their significant others’ arms. These were the eyes of a man who had seen quite a lot and was not easily swayed, not easily intimidated. He looked at the tall man, the man with the red leather pants, coat, and vest, and he listened to his request.
“No.” The man’s response was quick, simple, and to the point. He did not beat around the bush, which on the one hand, Fenrir had to admire. He hated having to speak to someone whom beat around the bush as if they were some kind of high class gardener. But not this guy, this guy was to the point.
“Oh, well that is unfortunate,” the white wolf added, “I was under the impression that she was here, in this building, Juniper was her name? Are you sure you can’t give a sneak peek in there and bring her out here? I wanted to ask her how things were getting along for her.”
The man once again watched him and simply responded, “No.”
He frowned as he tapped his chin once more. Would he have to force the man to move? He could try. While the man in front of him appeared to be of moderate physical strength, Fenrir was more than certain that he could easily and without much effort make him comply. But, what was the point of that? What was the point of breaking a man and forcing him to do something he did not want to do? He would rather that the muscle bound bouncer, since that is what he basically was - a glorified bouncer - do what he wanted him to do of his own free will.
The tall well muscled wolf had been in the process of attempting to come up with a plan when a voice caught his attention. A deep voice, male, demanded that the bouncer allow Fenrir to pass and even claimed that the wolf was with them. He peered over, allowing his eyes to fall on the one whom had spoken and he took note of several things, one was his physical appearance. It was quite pleasing. Two, was the fact that the man was not affected by the wind; much like Fenrir was not bothered by the cold air surrounding them all, this man did not react to it. And three, there was something about him, something that he could not quite put his finger on, but it made him feel somewhat oddly at lease.
Or perhaps not at ease but the muscular man’s presence felt oddly familiar? He couldn’t describe it. But he turned to face the man and bowed his head politely, “Well, thank you kindly. As much as I appreciate being called handsome, you can call me Fenrir, Toma.” He smiled, a broad grin that crossed his attractive features as he moved to follow the man when he walked past him, keeping up with him as he walked past the bouncer alongside Toma. “Go for a couple rounds? My, you may want to be a bit more specific with your wording; I could come up with various ways to interpret that.” He said with an almost teasing tone to his voice as his smile only grew wider. Fenrir walked alongside him, his hands clasped behind his head, allowing Toma to lead him inside and to where Juniper was supposedly waiting.
While Toma was apologizing for his late arrival, the wolf remained relatively quiet. Well, he had nothing to do with the meeting that they were in; in fact, he was an outsider in this meeting and he probably stuck out like the red leather clad sore thumb that he was, yet he was grinning the entire time. “Oi. Juni.” He gave the attractive young woman a bit of a wave as he made his presence known to her.

Misaki regarded the boardroom she had been brought to with curiosity. She stood, not among a single strong being, but as a being above those around her, not even as one among a few...
There were many people here, and as she shifted her look from one to another, this eclectic group...
It was more than the way their ki felt, though she could tell those here dwarfed her in raw strength.
Within the quiet smile of the elegantly dressed woman who owned the establishment, hiding both strength and kindness in equal measure...
A pink-haired beastgirl that gave off a worried and yet unhurried air, nonchalantly discussing this situation...
The calm and collected silver-haired man that looked like he was busy considering every detail of the current situation...
The Teal-haired man who gave off an air of relaxed confidence...
Even the large saiya-jin grumbling about his late arrival to a meeting to destroy a gang problem...
Misaki could immediately tell even if they hadn't given off the slightest glimmer of ki.
they were all strong.
A soft grin graced the emerald-haired fighting enthusiast's features as she heard what Juni had to say, already put into a very suddenly good mood by the people she'd met. this was the most interested she'd been since she'd come to Oolong City. Though as the girl explained things...
Oh. right. the gorilla was probably hurt. Honestly... she'd been more worried about the water damage, the fish, the water itself given what loathsome things the gorilla likely had on him, not to mention his filthy oils and hair likely harming the pond's delicate balance... but yeah, that's a thing people worried about, wasn't it?
The proposition that Juni gave to work it off, however, seemed nothing short of exciting. Fighting evil gangs that wanted to promote unrest and war in Oolong city? Why, that positively sounded fun. A very wide grin grew off of her polite smile, stretching almost ear to ear as Juni explained her deal.
Wait, Misaki, that's not something people like to see. Think, here.
The green haired gardener coughed, covering her mouth with her shoulder, before taking a small breath and, with a polite and formal tone, responding "Of course. I'm very interested in making recompense for the damage I have inflicted to those fish. In that case, it seems like I'm going to be working with you all. I am Misaki Kazamiya. A gardener. I am pleased to meet you!
...Fiddlesticks. that might have not been the right words for going off to beat up thugs. And here she was hoping to make friends... ahh! She had it!
"...Though I hope we can do the bare minimum of violence to deal with the problem!" She suggested brightly... before realizing her mistake.
She'd meant that she didn't want to beat them up more than necessary, after all, which was obviously a lie, but she'd instead made it sound like she was hoping for a brawl, and...
sweat poured down the Gardener's neck as her normal confident facade wavered only slightly as she realized she'd just messed up badly.
"...Which is zero, usually!" The Greenette finally added with more force in her voice than was needed.
before turning completely silent.
...she'd keep the whole 'speaking' thing to her plants in the future. yep. yes. definitely.

While Misaki spoke, Juniper’s eyes changed from cobalt blue to red, detecting the young woman’s chakras. The gardener had a good balance in most of them except for her throat, which she ironically tried clearing out by coughing, but she required proper treatment to speak truthfully from the heart chakra with more confidence in being herself even if it was uncommon in present society. The green haired woman remained standing by rather than join them at the table, which the tea princess did not mind, she was fully aware that some people were energetic, and preferred to stand rather than sit.
The staff woman that escorted Misaki to the meeting room held a wooden tray with hot green tea and rice cake in case she was inclined to try either; some of the treats were an assortment of chimaki wrapped in bamboo leaves. In her peripheral she noted that Jade was enjoying the tea rice cakes, more commonly known as wagashi, each one was different in color and shape. The staff silently moved about to assist in serving more hot tea, as well as bring along more rice cake, and kept the table fully stocked for everyone.
“You are just in time, Duke Toma, we can begin now that you are present.” Juniper continued to smile at Duke Toma, who was close to reaching the ceiling, after taking a seat Fenrir suddenly appeared from behind the Duke of Surf & Turf Village and she waved at him to sit next to her.
Koma addressed their arrival explaining to everyone that they needed to introduce each other again now that everyone was in the room together.
Juniper returned to her seat, her jaw dropped when Koma commented on Duke Toma’s mannerisms, so the former samurai was fully aware of the different types of behaviours people exhibited, yet he commanded that people accept his choice of words which were equivalent to a grain of salt. At no point in time has the mystic healer ever felt that she was above all others, she treated people with respect whether they deserved it or not, and she was having difficulty shedding her royal upbringing being around the Yajirobe descendant. Tea was the answer to soothe her qualm, she drank more of it, the warmth relaxed her, and she began to introduce herself.
“Again, for anyone just now arriving to this meeting, my name is Juniper Tea, I am a mystic healer and devoted to the four arts of a scholar. My mysticism utilizes calligraphy to apply my abilities to others and I hope to bring balance to the world through chakras. Although I am the youngest grandchild of Grand Duke Oolong, it behooves me to involve myself with resolving the issues the Devil’s Cook’s gang to cease the crimes they are committing in the city. This gang has financially destabilized the local restaurants owned by Prince Koma and Duke Toma at present, as well as the Pig Demon Duchies overall. We have always had yakuza and gangs in the City for quite some time, they pay taxes, and keep to themselves claiming superficial territories to operate in. However, the imbalance of power must be rectified, and we can all do that together. If anyone has further ideas on how to approach this gang, state your opinion. At present, mine is to simply pay them off, and we don’t have to resort to violence. Thank you for assisting us in this endeavor.”
At this point anyone else who felt bold enough to speak up could introduce themselves to the room or express their opinion on the gang activity.
As soon as Fenrir was in ear shot, she leaned over to speak to him directly with a low voice, while everyone else reintroduced themselves again, “It’s good to see you again, have you been in Oolong City long? Are you comfortable with the lodgings you have at present? I have room in a newly built estate for a change of atmosphere.”

This was a serious matter now. Gangs? This was the exact same thing that Juniper was talking about when they first met. She asked the girl if she was able, if she would fight off some gang members. Jade agreed to do so, but apparently she forgot to call her for this meeting. Jade wasn't irritated at all about this, and she knew exactly what was happening. It was a really serious matter, and it caused her to be in a rush or something, which is why she forgot. Jade tuned into the conversation that Koma and Juniper were having, and the conversation between Toma. The guy that wore the red jacket's chest was exposed, and Jade wondered how exactly did he get here.. like that. That also included Toma. There was one more thing that kind of had her thinking. While she was climbing the fence, she sensed a certain ki signature, and she can still feel it now.. inside the room. She then realizes that it was the same blue haired man, which called to Juniper a few moments ago. Once Toma was finished with his apology for his tardiness, Jade guessed that that should be everyone. Juni confirmed this when she introduced herself to everyone once again. She started to talk about how she owns the tea house, and that she is the granddaughter of Oolong. She even explained how this is her responsibility. Once she proposed a way to stop this.. Jade didn't agree at all. It was a good thing that Juniper asked for everyone's opinion on this, and a way they think that they could stop this. The feline girl stood, and surprisingly, she didn't feel shy.. at all. "Ok, my name is Jade and.. I'm a close friend of Juniper over here."While saying this, she pointed at Juniper. "Ok so.. First of all, I don't agree with giving them money, because I'm sure if you do, they'll just come back the next day and what?.. they will steal everything they can. Just like they were doing before and what they are doing now. I say we fight them. Juniper.. I know that you're not much of a fighter, but I'm sure if someone gets injured you can just heal them. The point is.. they might be selling those stuff that they are stealing, and to give them money.. I don't think that makes sense."WC: [710 | 1804] Total Mission WC: [11373 | 14000] Tags: Juni , Fenrir , Toma Fudo , Koma , Misaki Kazamiya

There were quite a number of people in the room; there must have been some kind of important meeting called and all of them must have been invited. In fact, the tall muscular guy, whom had told Fenrir to call him Toma, had even stated that he had arrived late due to having not received his invitation in a timely manner. Though, Juniper, or Juni, told him that he had arrived just in time. Still, every single person in that room, they looked as if they were of some kind of import in this place, in this Sin City. They did have these fancy titles, after all, so the titles must mean something.
For example, Juni was the youngest grandchild of some guy named Grand Duke Oolong. He hadn't heard the name before he met Juni - she had mentioned it once when they were in the hot springs, but before having met her, the name meant nothing to him - and then there were even others who had titles of Prince, such as Koma and then there was Duke Toma. The big guy with the muscles was a Duke? Did that make Juni some kind of Princess or Duchess or Empress of some sort? He had known a King before. Well, technically he had known two Kings before. The first was the second’s father, and only one of them had been nice to Fenrir.
In fact, of the two Kings that the great white wolf had known in his long seemingly eternal life, only one of them had managed to work his way into the wolf’s good graces and earned his trust; and it wasn’t the first.
But, did that mean that he was really in a room full of Dukes, Princesses, and Princes? He felt as if he were the odd man out, looking around the room. While he was not the only one who walked into the room looking like an exotic male dancer - Toma’s chest was, for the most part, exposed - he was the only one not dressed in fancy schmancy looking clothing. He didn’t really care either way, the blue haired man noticed that he stood out among them in that aspect as well.
He lacked both a title and fancy clothing. He also lacked a reason for being there; aside from wanting to see and speak to Juni again.
Fenrir peered over at Toma with a look of appraisal, as if he were somewhat surprised by the fact that this man, this big muscular hunk of beef, was a duke. Fenrir pictured Dukes to be different; in fact, he imagined a Duke to be some pencil thin snot nosed man, a person with whom Fenrir would be at odds with. Or perhaps some overfed round tub of a man who devoured all the best foods, and drank wine, while his people starved in the streets. Yet, Toma was showing himself to be quite agreeable. Or, at least, he has shown this in the past few moments that Fenrir had the pleasure of spending with the man.
While everyone else in the room made themselves known, introducing themselves by speaking their name and title, Fenrir remained relatively quiet. In fact, he had not spoken a word since he had arrived in the building, brought in by Toma. Though, there was a reason for that.
He was a normally loud individual, he spoke his mind, gave his two cents, whether others wanted to hear it or not. But, there was something about this place, something about the people that were entering it, and something about the somber nature of the meeting that had him keeping his lips locked.
From what he understood, from what they were saying, there was something happening in the city, something to do with a group that called itself the Devil’s Cook’s Gang. Whoever, or whatever, that group was, they were disrupting life in Oolong City. They were making it difficult for legitimate businesses to operate, and it was costing the city and its citizens money because of it.
But, what could be done about a group of thugs like the Devil's Cook's Gang? Well, there were many things that could be done. Every problem had a solution, and in terms of human gangs, there were several. One of the solutions was mentioned by Juniper. She felt that the best and easiest way to deal with the group would be to pay them off.
It was a simple and bloodless tactic; the group would be given a nice tidy sum of money and they would be told to, in lack of a better phrase, bugger off and not bother the fine people of Oolong City anymore. However, as the cat girl stated - he believed she had introduced herself? He probably missed her name - giving a group of thugs like the Devil's Cook's Gang money would be asking for them to believe that the city and its officials were complacent. This would only cause them future problems as the gang would appear again and again and each time that they did appear, they would demand money to be made to go away and only for a short amount of time; just long enough for them to blow through the money they were given before being asked for more.
Bribery, he silently agreed, would not work.
On the other hand, he did somewhat agree with Juniper. They did not need to get violent with the Devil’s Cook’s Gang. Violence only begets more violence; it would be a bloody slippery slope of revenge that ended, as it always does, with those less deserving of it to be hurt. That was how life worked, shit rolls downhill and those that least deserve it get shat on. He was more than sure that if a turf war were to start with the Devil’s Cook’s Gang, innocent business owners, their clientele, or just the citizens of the city, men, women, and children, would wind up being caught in the crossfire.
When Juni whispered over to him, a small smile crossed his face - a grin that she would recognize, having seen the man fully nude, sans for a thin small towel, at the hot springs - as he nodded politely, “I only arrived a few moments ago. To be honest, I do not have accommodations. I was thinking of seeing if I could get some room and board when I saw that young lady leaping over the wall to get in here.” He peeked over at Jade then turned his attention back to Juniper, “Well, if you are offering a bed for me to sleep in, I won’t say no to you.”

Koma cocked an eyebrow at Juniper, which itself was restraint from a boisterous shout at how that idea would do nothing. He stayed silent, despite disagreeing with her idea, as the others responded to her with a disagreement on the matter of paying them. Instead, it would be a matter of having to pay off one gang only to have to pay them off again later or pay other gangs. Utterly ineffective and distasteful. Koma cared little for the loss of money, but cared greatly for the slight that the pressure itself put on his deceased friend Ma-Te's honor, and on his own honor by extension. “My plan is for us to make a concerted strike on all of their strongholds at once, with a super class martial artist in every group which is striking their strongholds. My plan is for us to do so, and to already I have instructed members of the White Cat Clan and the Tea Clan who have official status within the bureaucracy of the police and friendly connections to the upper echelons of the Yakuza in those areas to keep them out of it and to make them understand this is a show of force to remind the militant groups in the city what the pecking order of things is.” As he said it, Koma reached for an azuki bean mochi from the table and shoved it into his mouth, chewing two decisive times before swallowing it. He then reached into his track suit's left side, as if reaching into his kimono, and pulling out a coin purse out, before tossing it onto the ground in front of him. It's thunk was uncharacteristic, but soon he opened it and tossed a coin in front of the placement or seat for each of the gathered super class martial artists. It was a blank coin, from the looks of it, dull bronze in color. “These are made from a special ore, and when spiritual energy is applied to them, the emblem of the White Cat Clan will appear on one side. The emblem of the Tea Clan will appear on the other side. They are to be used to identify yourselves as working for the Grand Dukes on a case if anyone asks you.” The prince who had NOT called himself a prince, so no, Fenris had not heard such a title from his mouth, then took a final sip from his tea. He unfolded a map he had sketched, along with the names or descriptions of each of the gathered martial artists. He then stood up, to leave and prepare. “We strike in fourty four minutes from the current moment.” He then left, the table, walking off on his own to strike one of the strongholds, potentially with an ally he had made the acquaintance of before. He made a call to Riku from his 'cellular phone' after he got his sneakers back on and left the Tea House. [496] [12,979/14,000] Rik @juni Misaki Kazamiya Jade Toma Fudo

Riku was sitting in his ratty apartment, honing his blade and watching a rerun of wheel of jeopardy when he got a notification that a call was coming in. He frowned and brought it up on his HUD; he hadn't been expecting any callers this evening.
Bringing up Caller Information Caller: Koma Number: 222-459-2215 Answer: Y/N
Koma.. that was the samurai's name from the night that the Rooster. When he had faced off against the Duchess Melody and Bryce... his body ached a little at the memory of the wounds. She had treated him with respect and honor afterwards, he would give her credit for that, however. He clicked yes and listened to what the other man had to say. "A strike at a group of gang leaders...Very well. I would be happy to assist, where should I meet you?" He listened and made a note of the address and finished the call with, "Sounds good. I will meet you there as soon as I am prepared."
Riku stood and turned off the television, shrouding the room in twilight. He set a stick of incense in a holder and lit the end, the scent of sandalwood starting to permeate the room as it burned. He went to a dim corner of the room and picked up a ceramic jar and placed it on the floor in front of the beat up dresser that had the holder for the burning incense atop it. Kneeling before the jar on both knees, he laid his sword across his knees and closed his eyes, humming a low almost sub audible tone as he meditated. Eyes still closed, he reached out to the jar and carefully removed the lid, carefully laying it on the floor next to it. He continued the low hum as he opened his eyes and reached into the jar, pulling out a simple ladle, just a wooden container on the end of a stick, really, and carefully lifted it our of the jar, bringing its liquid burden into the soft glow of the incense. Blessed waters from the peak of Mount Frying Pan reflected the water as he picked up his blade and held it horizontally before him, edge down. He moved the ladle to the base of the spine and tilted it as he began to slowly move it towards the tip, trickling the water down the whole spine of the blade and letting it bless it.
He carefully placed the ladle back into the jar and reverently replaced the lid. He shook the excess water from the blade and took a soft cloth from the dresser, drying the blade completely before laying it to the side and taking a small bottle from the pouch of his belt, a special sword oil his teacher had taught him to make all those centuries ago, before you could go and just buy such things. He still found the oil he made to be superior, however, so he continued to make it. Besides, it gave him something to do in his down time. He oiled the blade, breathing deeply and moving with deliberate purpose. Finally, he was done, his weapon and mind prepared for battle.
He strapped his sword belt on and slipped into his warmest coat and threw his cloak over top of it for good measure; it was bitterly cold outside of these walls. The address he had been given was for a tea house at the heart of Oolong City, about a 25 minute walk from his home. He stepped out into the biting howl of the winter winds, raising the hood of his cloak and started trudging towards the meeting. After a blur of hellish winter stretched time, his numb feet had carried him to the front of the tea house. Some guards eyed him as he approached, and looked as if they were thinking of trying to halt him... but a harsh glare at them was enough to forestall them. They seemed to have a resigned air about them as if this had happened a few too many times to them today. Still, it was probably wise of them not to grow their backbones back just then.
He made his way through the teahouse, guided by one of the attendants to a room with a large black lacquered table and many people around. He paused briefly as he saw the group of strangers sitting at the table, and no Koma. He did see a pouch of coins on the floor that he picked up. He saw that they were blank... which was very odd. He set the pouch on the table and looked at the people gathered there. A cat girl, a few muscular men, and a woman he recognized as a member of the Tea Clan... he thought it was the princess, Juniper. He had made it a point to start studying up on the nobility of the city after his run in with the Duchess, and he was now glad that he had taken the time to do so. He gave her a respectful bow, "Greetings, Princess Juniper. My name is Riku Masumura, I am a samurai and I have come at the behest of Koma. It is my understanding that there is some issue going on with gangs in this district. Please count my sword amongst your assets in this battle, we will bring the cretins down."
He looked more in depth to the rest of the folk gathered around the table. The cat girl looked to be little threat, the white haired man who looked wild, somehow seemed a little more dangerous; another nobleman that would be at the least politically dangerous unless he missed his guess but he wasn't familiar with this one yet, and a green haired young woman. He eyed each of them carefully and said, "I don;t know if this pouch of blank coins belongs to one of you, but here it is for the reclaiming." Unsaid behind his eyes, his only thought was, What a motley bunch... no wonder Koma called me in. Still, maybe some of them will prove me wrong and be useful.
