Melody had been kind enough to give him enough room to do something, make something as long as it added something to the village that was under her care. Ideas had been flowing through Bryce for the longest time about something just like this, and they all included something to calm him down. Nature, nature calmed him down enough to be able to ignore his thoughts, to get lost in the moment. And now, with being given the tools to make something for himself, he could very well make a home, with his own patch of nature. He would grow it himself, obviously, since that was one of the things he seemed to have retained from his days of being a monk, and he could sell what he grew because he wouldn't consume all of it himself, granted he used everything he had laying around in terms of seeds and wood to fence it all off with.
Bryce had some spare money lying around and purchased materials with it, as well as the ground he thought he would need. Ready for a day or two of hard work, he dusted off his hands and smacked them together as the materials came. ''Just put them there.'' The mandroid said as men began to dump almost everything in one spot, though while making sure all the seeds were in one spot, the wood was neatly stacked and that the granite was neatly and gently placed down. Last thing Bryce needed right now was his 'home' to be damaged before he had it built.
The fact he spent all of his money for the seeds, ground and building materials meant he got to do all of this on his own, and while his plans weren't the biggest he would still have at least a days work if he were to take no breaks. Lucky him for being a robot then, since he wouldn't have to take breaks if he didn't get tired. And what also played a huge part, most stones that everyone would need two hands for he was able to carry in stacks and with one hand. And objects too heavy to lift alone he was able to easily lift by himself.
First off, was the house he was going to build. The location of it was a bit removed from what Melody called home though since Bryce didn't know if he would ever snap hard enough to actually start beating up people, that was a risk he did not want to take and because of that he had decided to make his home not in the middle of a crowd, but on the edge of the western lands. On a flat piece of land was where he was going to settle down, creating a kind of refuge for himself as well as a spot to call home on the days he did not have anything to do.
As with every building, the first step was putting in the first tone, a cornerstone that Bryce happily poked his knuckle into, slowly carving out a pointy 'B' in the rock before putting it down on the ground. And that was how his house began, as a single carved rock in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by patches of grass and bags of seed.
His idea was something that would remind him of the temple, and made mostly out of stone. Need for a bed was something he didn't have as a cot under the stars was what he was used to, and need for appliances to make food.. well, he could just trade what he would grow for other types of food. So for now his 'home' was going to be nothing but a stone altar surrounded by patches of edible greenery.
He placed down a series of steps, stones in a row that slightly elevated and then ended up in one large slab made out of 4 lesser ones, with thrust upon it an altar made out of smaller, but still square rocks. Maybe it could even function as a table. Oh and maybe he would need walls too! Stacking up rocks could do that, using the methods of his homeland to allow the rocks to form archways while just relying on their own pressure. Doing this several times over allowed him to create a sort of shack out of nothing but stone, with a stone table in the center.
Soon after that, he would need to start working on the farming portion of it all. Fencing off the right area and plant the seeds. One by one, meticulously he planted each individual seed, all 39,200 of them, on all 20 meters, 1,960 in a row. There was some time spent doing just that, plowing the land, opening holes and removing debris. Scattering the seeds over the ground given to him. It gave him time to think due to how easy the process of planting was, and as he was an automatic pilot he would think of everything that had gone on in his life.
Up to him coming here his life had been messy at best, his existence had been all jumbled up and there was the small problem of having been threatened, and then there was also the promise of him losing his sanity to that lasting dream. All in all, his future would be worse than his past, especially since he had fights with people that got him dangerously close to just giving in to the voices in his head. Usually being alone with the thoughts had the same effect, but for some reason, as he planted those seeds, he didn't even come close. Almost like the world stopped spinning just for him, like everything that was not near to Bryce was just shut out. The birds that had been singing just.. stopped.
And then Bryce fell to his knees, not because of emotion, but to look at what was ahead of him. And as he slowly took note the world around him seemed to return.
And with it, the bad thoughts.
