Even though Ruby fancied herself as a treasure hunter, requests that demanded her expertise doesn't exactly come regularly. And while she was blessed with a small fortune even those would not last if she chose to simply sit on her rear all day doing nothing. Sometimes she would do odd jobs to make ends meets. Today however, her emails were as empty as a desert. None of her contacts had any new requests for her and none of her old clients wanted her to steal anything for them. This had gone for a few days now and she would be lying to say she wasn't concerned at all. With a sigh she jutted her bottom lip so as to direct the flow of air towards her bang, fanning them upwards before resettling just over her eyes. Suddenly her phone buzzed and she leapt onto it like a cat upon the prey, only to find that it was an advertisement from BoarChores. Apparently they're launching an application to order food anywhere you want. There was also an advertisement for an open position as food courrier. Staring at it for a few moments, she click the app to read the details on the job position. Not that she hated or have a poor opinion of the job, it just simply don't compare to treasure hunting when it comes to excitement. The easiness of task involved was appreciated at least. They simply needed to show up at their restaurant and deliver any food ordered to the location shown on the application. Plus the uniforms involved were very cute, though it could use a little less frill in her opinion. "Hey Fang, they're hiring out food couriers at Boarchores. I'm thinking of giving it a try until we get another job request. What about you? Do you want to give it a try?"Pulling herself up from the couch she sat on, the pinkette made her way towards Fang before showing her the advertisement on the phone. The advertisement was quite flashy and over the top, with the mascot of an angry red boar which would feel right at home as a symbol for a sports team rather than the mascot of a food delivery service. Her head tilted slightly as she observed Fang's reaction, unsure whether or not she would be interested in this kind of gig. "Also said there they offered free meals on top of our daily wage depending on our shift." she added. WC: 413 TWC: 413 Tag: Fang

Fang lanced her chopsticks into a hoard of meat and noodles confined in a small cardboard box. Wedging several strands joined with succulent scraps of pork into her mouth, she chewed and swallowed with the typical haste and gluttony her Saiyan heritage destined her for. A myriad of appealing flavours and spices spread across her palette, though failed to stir her neutral expression. Seated on the lounge chair adjacent from the couch of her special person, she spent the bulk of the day eating, doing what she could around their mutual home, and trying to make herself feel like she was contributing while Ruby looked for ways they could make money.
The half-Saiyan studied the buzzing phone on the table. It reminded her that she needed to get one of those, but she never had a steady enough income for it until now and she kept forgetting to get to it. Moreover, the speed Ruby jumped on it suggested she might have a task for them lined up—or at least was hopeful about it. The reaction she observed lacked the usual exuberance that came with landing high paying jobs. Fang believed it must have been less satisfactory and she refrained from getting her own hopes too high; they could whirl right back around and bite her in the ass at a moment’s notice.
When her beautiful woman spoke up explaining the task, her feline ears swiveled in her direction while her Saiyan tail unwound from around her waist and inadvertently assimilated the shape of a question mark. It straightened once the full explanation was given. The silver-haired warrior looked at her for a moment before laughing. The idea of embarking on a job like this after what the group went through over the last few weeks caressed her funny bone in ways she never imagined.
”That’s one dead end ass job, Ruru,” Fang joked in response, thought refrained from discrediting it. She clarified soon after. Taking note of the angry boar, she was reminded of herself. Since she had a horrible temper and usually wore the mantle—or mask—of a belligerent boar. It was the thing she was known for even in her youth. Smiling and using her tail, she attempted to lace it around Ruby’s waist and beckon her closer to her person. ”Kidding. I’m down for it. Gotta keep the money flowing. Never want to be losing cash. Free meals sound fucking nice, too.”

Fang's response to the job offered was a laughter causing her to chuckle slightly in response. She supposed it was quite a departure compared to their previous job and had the pinkette been in Fang's shoes she probably would have the same reaction. Hearing Fang's clarification of her words, Ruby smiled in response and leaned into her embrace. The feeling of relief washed over her as she was not quite sure if she can handle a new work environment without someone she knew personally. "Good. We should get ready to wake up early tomorrow."The next day soon arrived and the pair would find themselves in front of the Boarchore restaurant. They were not the only ones as she noticed that there were other applicants for the job. Funnily enough some of them were people she worked with in the past, which meant the drought of requests did not affect only them. A small smile crept on her lips as she now felt more optimistic of their chances for the job. "Wonder how they'll go about the selection eh Fang?"Ruby asked. She did not have to wonder long as the door slammed open and a pigman came out dressed in red uniform and slacks that barely hold on to his body. Huge as he was, he began to walk past line like an army sergeant in front of new recruits. He looked at them with enough intensity as if he intended to bore holes into them. "Now listen up! My name is Mr Tusk and I am your handler. Boarchores just launched an app that would allow customers to order from anywhere. And I mean anywhere, it could be in the city, the ruins, the forest, the fucking warzone. I don't care! Your job is to make sure the food get delivered wherever no matter what it takes. Because Boarchores only hire the best of the best. Do I make myself clear??" the Pigman bellowed. A chorus of "Sir, yes sir" followed much to Ruby's amusement. These guys were taking their job way too seriously. Still, she wanted the job enough to give a nod of her own in return. "If you are all ready, go change into your uniform right now. Download the Boarchore app onto your phone to check where your next delivery would be. Once you receive that, pick up your package and go immediately."the pigman ordered and after that dismissed them with a grunt. "Man, that was quite unexpected huh? We should get going though." With a slight grin, she would beckon her new girlfriend to head towards the changing room so as to put on the uniforms provided by their current employer. WC: 449 TWC: 1270 Tag: Fang

Waking up early was always a pain in Fang’s eyes. The half-Saiyan enjoyed her beauty sleep and slumbering far into the early afternoon at the very least. Coming to at the din of dawn with grotesque light gnawing at her vision was not a pleasant experience. Routine was not a thing she enjoyed, and that was why she resolved to make money through a more adventurous an unpredictable lifestyle. She never wanted to eschew working for a passive income; Fang wanted to make a living through a life of excitement and submerging herself into the uncharted.
Finding herself before the restaurant in question, she examined it with prying eyes. Boar themed anything was always a boon for the warrior who donned decapitated swine skulls and other segments as the most notable part of her attire. Even now, she chose to keep the mantle over her shoulder instead of positioned over her cranium. Given the nature of the job, she expected to be well-received just because of her theme matching the restaurant’s. Sometimes it was uncanny how much these lands—this city—suited her.
Other people were around, suggesting that the pamphlets and listings were voraciously gobbled up by all people who preferred a similar lifestyle. She had no qualms with it if she didn’t have to compete for the work. Ruby wondered about the selection, and though she had a hunch she barely got enough time to utter the first part of her sentence.
”Who fucking know—…” Was all Fang managed before the door slammed open, revealing a pigman with a militant disposition. He went on about delivering to the mundane to even the wildest of locations. Had she known about these services while out in the wild she would have tried to order from them whenever she could have. She was a little bitter about it considering there were a lot of days where she and her crew were wrought with starvation symptoms.
Raising a brow at the battalion of courier aspirants cementing their loyalty to the culinary cause, Fang stifled laughter to prevent herself from being fired on the spot. Listening to Ruby emphasize the uncanny, she returned the grin as she progressed towards the changing room alongside her.
”Yeah, you can say that again. You’re gonna need to handle the phone stuff, ‘cause this bitch ain’t got one,” Fang said in response, grin broadening as she proceeded into the changing room. Indeed, she intended to wear her demon boar helmet by the end of the process.

"Don't worry, we'll be sure to get you one dear." Ruby replied with her signature smile. In recent years cellphone had become an important core in one's everyday life. And though Ruby had the financial means to pick up any old burner or second hand phone for her significant other, the pinkette preferred to get a brand new one instead. This job would help her a lot to gather the money in that regard though for now she remained mum about it to surprise her girlfriend. After putting on the uniform, she downloaded the app on her phone and wait for Fang to finish, her saiyan tail make a vague heart shape at the sight that greeted her eyes. "You look super cute in that outfit ya know~?"she teased. With a smirk, she would lead her girlfriend to the waiting room so as to pick up the package once they receive their orders. Her eyes caught a glimpse of one of their fellow colleague's cellphone screen, their handler wasn't kidding when he said they delivered anywhere. One of them even ordered their meal from an island somewhere in the lake between Central and Western Land. And unless the courier in question knew how to fly, that would mean he had to take a ferry just to deliver his meal. A question popped in her head, one that she wished she realized sooner rather than late into this job. "Hey Fang, do you know how to ride a bike?" Ruby asked. The pinkette's eyes linger towards the rows of crimson delivery motorbikes in front of the window. She had never learn to ride one herself, if ever there was a need to get somewhere far in a short time she would usually resort to hire a taxi. Her phone buzzed once more, informing the pair that their delivery trip would take them to the forest not far from Oolong river. Why would someone order a meal in the middle of the woods was beyond her at this point. One thing for sure, the place they need to go was beyond walking distance for the both of them. ”No rush,” the former Pigman Brotherhood leader said, dismissing the idea of haste when it came to getting her a mobile device. When living the life of a thief, she obtained several different throwaway phones throughout her life. However, a blend of combat and wear and tear over time resulted in a lack of the sophisticated technology by the time she got back in Oolong City. Alas, having one of those were borderline mandatory in that day and age. The application being centric to the task at hand revealed that—and if one lacked a computer, then communication was severely limited. It felt like she lived in the middle ages when lacking such a valuable implement.
Finishing getting dressed in the uniform for the job, Ruby put her under the siege of compliments. Lips curling into a wry smile, her tail returned the gesture while it curled into the vague shape of a half-heart. The length of her hair caused it to seep out from under the demonic boar helmet. The clothes she wore belonging to the establishment were comfortable enough to not draw any complaints from the Saiyan. After receiving praise, she felt the need to reflect it right back at her; she would have regardless should she never garnered one in the first place. ”I could say the same thing about you.”
Passing into the waiting room, Fang folded her arms under her chest. People received orders to go to the most asinine locations, as expected. The most baffling part about it was there was a lack of surprise on the features of the men and women designated to travel to questionable locations. From that she ascertained these individuals must have been accustomed to the status quo and had embarked on these courier journeys several times before.
Although, Fang did have a lot of experience traveling the lands. And that came with learning different means of traversing it—including the exact thing that Ruby brought up. She was formerly part of a gang, of course learning how to drive a bike was in the guidelines!
”Fortunately, yeah. These things seem to be a symbol of the less reputable in some parts, so I had a lot of time to learn whenever we stole one,” Fang said. ”Snazzy.” After the task was explained to them, an expected unorthodox location but not impossible, Fang made her way over to the motorcycle. Seemed like she already had a fitting helmet, too.

Fang's assurance that she was able to ride a bike brought a sense of relief, at least one of the pair can actually ride the vehicle provided. The pinkette would then grab the food delivery backpack which contain their order before following her towards the delivery bike. The Saiyan catgirl complimented the ride they will be using to which Ruby nodded in respond after a mild inspection. As she was not a gearhead herself, any bike looked rather similar to her. "Good~ This bitch don't know how to ride a bike so I'll leave the driving to you~"After Fang got onto her bike, she will hop onto the the seat herself behind her before wrapping her arms and her tail around Fang's waist. Her cheeks flushed slightly at the close proximity she find herself in. As her partner already have a fitting helmet for herself, Ruby grabbed the one that came with delivery bike. With the food delivery backpack strapped securely to her back, they didn't have to worry about potentially dropping it along the way. Some of the courriers wished them good luck before setting off to which Ruby would return the greeting before concentrating on the road up ahead. "Mmm, I'm ready when you are~"Wind greeted the both of them as they sped down the lane towards the destination. With no walls or windshield to protect them both, she noted that they were more exposed to the elements like this. Soon the forest emerged within their vision with a path cutting through them, twisting and snaking around the trees. Ruby took a look at their surrounding, her eyes narrowed slightly for signs of life conceal within it's depths. "What kind of people do you reckon order their meal in the middle of forest darling?"she asked. The sound of motorbike tearing through the woods did not go unnoticed. Wild animals usually avoid any unnatural sound but the noise brought with them an irresistable aroma. The sound of crunching leaves made by hurried footsteps cause Runy to turn her head backward to see what was following them. It was dinosaur whose height was barely taller than your average human, equipped with powerful jaws lined with blade-like teeth. Despite the speed of the bike they were going with, it appeared to have no problem catching up to them. Letting out a howl, more of it's companions emerged. Ruby noted the pair were flanked from both side by these beasts, ready to try and pounce on them at the slightest opportunity. There were at least six of them from what she could see.

Fang’s lips curled into a smirk when she heard Ruby reference her previous style of declaration with her declination of knowing how to operate a motorcycle.
”Guess we’ll have to teach you then. Hold on tight,” the half-Saiyan advised, climbing onto the bike. Feeling the warmth seeping into her form from the woman wrapping her arms and tail around her, she partially returned the gesture by looping her own tail around her waist. Symbolic as it was, it also served to held keep them in place in the scenario of any violent disengagements. Of course, she appreciated the feeling of her significant other clinging onto her in this situation.
After Ruby signaled her readiness for the journey and the duo had everything in stow, Fang started the vehicle and began speeding towards their destination. While the initial terrain in their travels was appropriate, encroaching on the forest itself would come with its own heap of inconveniences as it would become harder to drive on. Roots, obstructions, and muddy ground all contributed to the scaling difficulty. However, environments outside of cities were favoured tracts for the felid Saiyan.
”When I was stranded with my gang, I would have taken up ordering from here if I knew about it. But then again, if I had a working line to civilization, then I would have just called someone to come pick me up while they weren’t looking,” Fang admitted, shrugging her shoulders. It was uncanny—she thought the person ordering from afar might have been a survivalist who bit off a little more than he could chew. It still posed the same question as her, and she chalked it up to them just being crazy.
Their peaceful travels concluded when the machine’s mechanical roar and speedy flight through the dirt trails drew the attention of reptilian predators. Clicking her tongue, she directed her attention over her shoulder before gazing ahead. Pressing forward faster and accumulating more speed, she challenged the terrain itself; acceleration resulted in the inability to take sharper turns in this type of environment, and made split second decisions critical. Her increase in speed would temporarily create a bigger gap between them. The idea of being eaten by dinosaurs didn’t sit well with the hybrid.
”What do we want to do? Should we stop and turn these dinosaur fuckers into lunch, or are you gonna pick them off while we drive?”

Having warned Fang with the threats closed at hand, she posed her an important question on how to engage them. It took her a second to consider, while her energy blast techniques would not lose to a regular blaster in terms of power she didn't practice with them enough to be precise with them. One of the dinosaurs nearly chomp on the bagpack but Fang's expert control over their metal steed prevented it to get away with a happy meal. "Pull over Fang. I'm in the mood for dinosaur's legs."Once her significant other do so, she would get off the bike and place the bag onto their ride. Now that she had a good look on them, there seem to be a dozen of them-half of which must have arrived slightly late than usual. The look on the dinosaurs that surround them was of hunger though compared to the preys they had targeted before, it was the first time they saw their prey look back at them with equally hungry look. "You lizards picked the wrong delivery girls, buddy."After giving a nod to Fang, Ruby would then proceed to beat up the creatures relentlessly. While she would usually practice restrain in the face of adversity, an exception was made for when it comes to creatures that came at them with the intend to kill. Working together with Fang, they would systematically execute every single dinosaurs that came after them until the forest floors were filled with their carcass. "Think that's the last of them. Should we take care of these carcass first or should we take care of the delivery first?" Ruby asked as she make her way towards the package. Thankfully, they were unscathed throughout the fight, much to her relief. Whichever Fang decided their next course of action would be, Ruby would finish up before getting on the motorbike with once more. The question of who the order belongs to was soon answered when they saw a group of tents in the clearing. Apparently, there were people camping in the wood but poor planning had led to food shortage hence necessitating the group to order a takeaway meal. The campers even tipped the pair generously for going through the woods just to deliver their meal. "Well, that's that. Mmm, wonder if dinosaur meat taste better fried or grilled eh partner?" Ruby asked. WC: 396 TWC: 3691 Tag: Fang

”Got it,” Fang said, pulling over near one of the trees lining the trail the duo traversed through. The idea of frying, grilling, or barbecuing dinosaur sounded like a good idea to her. It was one of her favourite meats. Additionally, Fang wanted to be punctual with her delivery. Getting it done with finesse might allow them to come back if they needed quick income.
Turning around on her seat to face the adversaries, Fang removed the helmet encasing her head. Mounting it onto her shoulder, she improved the sights she trained on the different reptiles surrounding them. Reaching into her pocket and retrieving a small capsule, she pressed it together to expand it in a plume of smoke. Her weapon of choice was at last revealed; a cryptic bow wreathed in black. Clutching it in her hand, she remained seated while she glued her attention onto the different creatures attacking them either out a sense of self-preservation or a need to fill their bellies with meat. It wasn’t personal—but it didn’t make it any less necessary to eliminate them.
Though she had no quiver or arrow, she notched one and it manifested out of thin air. Synthesizing a bolt of black and violet, she waited until the most opportune moment. Ruby assaulted the dinosaurs with fist and ferocity, and she loosed her arrow to serve as a cavalry unit providing suppressive fire. The arrow turned into three and diverted, coursing through the air and splitting into three different directions. Skewering the skulls of those Ruby didn’t slaughter, she let out a dry laugh as she admired their handiwork.
”I think we should just cook it right here over a fire. Before that, let’s finish this,” Fang said, turning back around on her seat. With Ruby’s company, she would drive to the destination and deliver the goods in question, ultimately resulting in a job completed without a significant hurdle.
