The hiss sounded similar to a train pulling into a station, the staggering movements from Riku was a sign that he was right back to where he was before Will O’ Wisp interfered, and the first strike against her was not enough to cause any injury as she moved the flat side of the blade away with her palm. The second attempt to strike her was avoided with a quick side step to the side as she continued to channel her concentrated ki to whip towards Riku. Ever since she left the vicinity of her territory of Truffle Village, she came across several different people who she could not best, and this was the first time she had regained her winning streak for what it was worth. In the back of her mind, she wanted to think of a future for herself, but her heart kept distracting her even when she emptied all thought by focusing on the fight. Without her sword in hand, she had room in her heaving chest, and Melody gritted her teeth trying to stop her feelings from distracting her. Rik's attacks were batted away easily by the battle hardened duchess. He raised his blade into a defensive stance and resolutely waited for the end... when he felt master Wisp send him some energy. It sparked a little clarity in thought, but he didn't dare turn away from the deadly duchess for longer than it took to give his ally a resolute nod. He would try to make it count if she didn't take him down. She sent two more of those violet crescent energy blades at him. He took a deep breath and used some of his borrowed power to energize his blade as he parried the first, which broke apart and sent a few shards into his arm, before he changed his stance and parried the second completely away from him. Going all out seemed to his only real option. He swept back in and slashed at the duchess' left arm once more in a fairly basic attack, more to grab her attention as he studied her movements once more, seeking any clues that might help him. As he recovered from his first attack, he moved his blade a few times in a circular motion once more, in a motion probably familiar to the duchess by now. That was fine.. the movements were random and thus mostly unreadable. He chose his target and struck at her right knee fiercely before stepping back out of immediate counter range... { } DEFENSE PHASE. gained 2 momentum stacks +25 ki and 25% PL from Will

His simple punches were hitting now. Or at least seemed to be hitting, but the first one he threw went straight through the cat, and while not exactly bad that his fist went through, the fact that Wisp came out unscathed was a bit of a problem. And while his backwards kick hit, there was still too much missing going on, though maybe that was an easy fix.. and then suddenly Bryce felt energy leaving the body of the cat only to go towards that other android he couldn't feel. Would that have any use? Giving inorganic material an organic substance to work with, or did that maybe supercharge him? If that was the case.. the mandroid looked at Melody briefly and wondered how much of an upperhand he would get if that were to happen to him. But then again, her doing that would mean a disadvantage in her fight with the sword wielding and supercharged samurai and cat. However, this did give him a fun little opening. And one he almost instantly cashed in as he dove closer to Wisp, his fist turning into a claw with bent fingers and tensed muscles as he then drove it upwards in an attempt to hit the cat's chin. ============= WC: 208 EWC: 2833 Defensive Phase Bryce is hit 0 time(s) for 0 damage!

Clash [1/1] -19 ki + cost of attack When you activate Clash, you perform one attack of your choosing in response to a single unresolved attack targeting you. Reduce the damage of the target attack by the amount of damage that your own attack would deal. You must still make an Accuracy Roll, and if your attack's total damage would exceed your opponent's, they must respond to your attack as if you had performed it normally- with an additional damage modifier equal to the damage roll(s) of your opponent’s attack. If this would reduce an attack's damage to 0, you also resist any effects it would have caused.
Enhanced Sense ∞ You gain +5 Defense versus all unresolved attacks targeting you this turn; additionally, you gain +5 Accuracy with all attacks used this turn. After Will finished giving some of his Ki to Rik he then looked up towards Bryce diving towards him. He expected such an attack would be coming and thus he more prepared for it, he flips up into the air and jumps off from Bryce's back to gain extra height. Doing so could disorient him a bit. While Will is up in the air he whistled for his Flying Nimbus which caught him as he floated in the air. He already spent so much of his energy on that last Kamehameha and he already regained so much. He stopped for a few brief seconds to think of what attack could hit the android. It was then that one idea hit him of what he could hit the android next with. He put his hand in front of him as he forms a ball of energy. Until the ball burst forth into multiple Ki Blasts down on the area where Bryce would land. Raining down from above like a bunch of meteorites. The android is fast but surely he already used up most of his energy dodging the last few attacks that he would be unable to be just as quick this time right? If he does manage to dodge all of them then Will needs to quickly think of a new strategy or else this might be the end of him.

No one had anything to say, their speed, and assault towards each other were more meaningful than an exchange of words which were empty without action. Melody was getting close to defeating her opponent once more, she was getting tired of the same technique, and she needed to train harder to include more enhanced blademaster skills at her disposal. The thought of still fighting beyond tonight made her sigh, she was losing sight of the future, and she wanted to return home more than anything. “You know you can’t win. I spent my whole life with swords. I am an expert in this field...” She said coldly, rolling her head to one side as she parried the flat side with her palm again, the impact was painful on her existing injuries, and she side stepped his second attempt in a continuous pattern. Again, the violet crescents closed in on the samurai, and she continued to sigh about it. Rik almost nodded at the Duchess' assessment of his chances of winning. The battle had indeed turned against him and at this point he was fighting only for his honor and not any chance of victory. He managed to strike at his foe another time, a show of defiance that would probably ultimately ass up to nothing. That didn't matter though; sometimes standing for what you believed in meant you were going to fall. If what you were fighting for was important, then being defeated and maybe even dying for it was a worthy thing. He stood, sword ready to parry as the Duchess flung two more boomeranging violet crescents that tore through the night towards him. He threw his sword around to parry the first and managed to deflect a part of it... but the second one stuck him square on. He let out a short half yell half gasp as the pain ate through his body with a sharp burning sensation. His vision was consumed with purple static and his body seemed to lock up... then he could feel himself starting to fall. Riku knew no more, unconsciousness having claimed him before he even hit the grass of the clearing.

Disorient him it did not, in his current state all it did was anger him. Such an easy move to dodge an attack of him.. he remembered still when that was first used on him by that.. Savina android girl, she also used his body as a stepping stone to avoid some of his moves. But she also used him as a stepping stone to unleash some of her own so Bryce made it into a thing where he had to turn around instantly. Luckily he had an energy signature to follow this time and turned in time to see the cat unleash two bright energy blasts towards him. With a grin Bryce managed to easily avoid the first by just vanishing in place long enough for the blast to pass through, though the second one did hit and drew up a lot of smoke as he did. It didn't hurt him, but it did give him a great idea. People couldn't sense androids right? So this smoke could be a great cover to unleash attacks from. And what more, he felt Melody relax her power a bit so he assumed that the android in front of her had given up or had somehow beaten her. He felt it was safe to go with the first assumption. And that meant it was time to make it count. The cat being down an ally, as well as not being able to see or sense his opponent.. the mandroid would sneakily move around the cat far enough to end up behind him, appearing behind him with a grin. Raising his fist then he tried to further throw the cat off guard by turning his entire body upside down, his foot raising to try and smack him against the chin, before his other foot would try to push itself off of his chin to allow him to be at eye level again. There was a short pause as well as a devious smirk before he went in for a small flurry of attacks as Bryce then went to try and grab the cat by his leg, attempting to throw him down to the ground. ====================== WC: 361 EWC: 3194 Defensive Phase Bryce is hit 1 time(s) for 9 damage! 9 - 10 DR = 0 damage!

Techniques
Whenever you use Sense, you gain 1 DR and +1 Damage with all attacks on that turn. This increases by +1 DR and +1 Damage for every 3 turns you’ve taken in the current battle. [10/12]
Countermeasures [0/1] -14 ki You gain 2 stacks of "Countermeasure". Stacks of "Countermeasure" may be used as a Reactive At-Will action to reduce Reactive Standard Actions you use to Reactive Bonus Actions, and Reactive Bonus Actions to Reactive At-Will Actions. Each stack used applies to only one Action and must target an action used in the same turn you used that stack of "Countermeasure".
Feint [1/2] -14 ki You avoid 1 attack targeting you on this turn; this does not work against Critical Hits.
Flying Swallow -14 ki Damage: 3d10 Effect: Temper - If this technique is the only Special Technique used on your turn, decrease the cost of the first Special Technique used on your next turn by 5 ki. Effect: Wounding - This technique has a 40% chance to inflict Wound on hit.
Items Flexmetal staff You may perform 1 additional melee Strike this turn as an At-Will action for each melee Strike you perform. 3 uses per thread [1/3] Bonus action
Champion's gi At the beginning of your turn, you may choose 1 of the following Effects: You gain +10 Defense this turn(applied before incoming attack resolution), you gain +15 Accuracy with all Basic Techniques this turn, or you gain +15 Accuracy with a single Special Technique used this turn. 1 bonus per turn At-will

Will expected what he was trying to do with the smoke when he took the blast. He was going to try to sneak up on him using the smoke cloud as cover and his lack of being able to be sensed to his advantage. He tries to listen in for Bryce's movements and try to dodge or guard the minute he tries to strike. However, the minute Bryce makes his move and hits Will with an onslaught of attacks. All hitting him and each one doing major damage to him, many sounds of bones being broken can be heard from the android's brutal onslaught. Will is then thrown down onto the ground like a ragdoll, making a crater in the ground and lying it in with one of his arms and legs bending in ways they shouldn't be bending. His clothes torn from the wear and tear they just went through in the battle. However, he still manages to get up somehow, using what little energy he has left. He tries to fire a blast towards Bryce in desperation but is in too much pain to even do that. He then looks towards Melody. "So, this is what it has come to haven't it? After everything we have done together, this is where it all ends. Before you and your friend kill me I have just one thing to say if it's any consolation. I am deeply sorry," Will said. He truly wasn't lying with this statement, he wasn't trying to weasel out of being slain or anything, he was already beaten and he accepted that. And Melody can tell he wouldn't be the type to do that. "You said taking them in as strays yes? Perhaps you found good in that man that I couldn't see, the same goes for that other one you told to go away, and maybe even this Android as well. You wanted to redeem them because perhaps you were like them once before or were close to getting to that point and wanted them to find a different way, or maybe so it's your way of redemption by trying to help people who are thought to be too far gone. I won't tell anyone about what happened today, it'll be our secret, after all, that's what friends are for right?" Will said. After saying those words all energy that Will had left faded as he collapsed back into his crater. It seems now his energy was depleting quick. If he wasn't given any medical treatment soon he might die. His fate now rested in Melody's hands, and he accepts that. Even while he is unconscious he is still smiling.

The samurai fell around the same time Will O’ Wisp did, her eyes widened for a second when she saw the cat fall, the old feline had a lot to learn despite being over four times older than she was, and hesitated to trust Bryce from doing any more harm. Melody tapped her okobo sandal on the ground, counting the seconds go by, followed by the minutes it took for her to rush over to Will’s side in a mixture of suppressed emotions. It was easy to pretend that she was strong but at this moment she had been weak for being guarded over what she believed in. Dropping to her knees she hovered over to Will as he barely kept his slant eyes open.
“I’ve seen the world, had it all, and if I am forced to fight against my friends for what I believe in, worrying about other people, then what kind of life... am I living?” She pulled Will into her lap, running her fingers on his fur, and he would know that she never intended for things to end up this way but it did. Nothing would be the same after tonight, the stars in the sky were fading away as dawn drew near, and with a heavy she stood up holding on to him tightly. “Of course, I forgive you, we all have something we have to protect.”
Violet eyes looked over to Bryce who still held that eerie smile on his face, he seemed to enjoy a good fight, but it was over now. “What were you doing so far from the country to the city of sin?...If you don’t mind me asking that is.”
There were several reasons anyone ventured to this city, restaurants bearing high star ratings, gambling, whoring, and fighting in the arena. With more thought she figured he was looking for a fight as it seemed he held no interest in anything else but that.
“I would have lost without you, so you have my thanks...the timing was near perfect. If you need a place to stay, you are welcome to come with me to my permanent residence, located at the heart of the city near the Grand Duke’s castles. I do have one small favor in exchange, if you could help me carry the Samurai, otherwise I will.”

Slowly Bryce fell down from the sky, covering his chest by folding his arms over it.
He watched Melody take a moment and just look at the unconscious cat, before making her way over to him in a display that, quite honestly, irked the mandroid. She knelt down and took Wisp in her lap, and as the two spoke and swapped words Bryce would turn to the android Melody had just knocked out. His smile had faded a few seconds ago from watching Melody party with the enemy, so the mandroid decided to do that with someone.. a bit less talkative.
Bryce stepped over to the fallen sword wielding android and towered above the limp body. Kneeling down he pried the sword out of the hand that held it and held it up for himself right then, questioning why anyone would enjoy bringing such an object into a fight. That just.. made it go by faster, didn't it? There was no annoyance for seeing such things in a fight, just the feeling of whoever wielding one being weak and not being able to do what needed to be done themselves. Yes, this included Melody. Who coincidentally spoke to him right then.
''Looking for fights.'' He responded, though he suspected she knew this already after seeing him fight. However, it wasn't just that. Something inside of him felt like he owed Melody something for getting him out of the place he was in. But he would never tell her that, or let her know any other way. ''You all just happened to make too much noise for me to ignore. Besides, I sensed you and decided to check in. But when I then felt the cat-'' He pointed at Wisp, still in the arms of Melody. ''-well you know what happened next.'' Bryce continued with a smile.
''And I know my timing was perfect, not near perfect. Call it fate, call it a plan. I am more partial to calling it dumb luck.'' He answered. ''And as for your offer; I already accepted once. This new man you're looking at is not one you want in your abode.'' Bryce went on, looking at the android who lay at his feet as he bent over a bit and grabbed the android by his ankle, before by sheer size alone yanking him up into the air, using the momentum to swing him over his shoulder.
''I will carry the samurai for you. But only because I want to, not because you need to.'' ================ WC: 420 EWC: 3614

“Thank you.”
Every step towards the city center was heavy, Melody was struggling to breathe, all the confidence she held before was gone, and she was silent the entire time. She stared long and hard at the red light district in the distance, where she found Cress in a room full of whoring women days prior, before the start of their decisive battle, he had the audacity to insult her honor, but she would never let that go on a whim just to be with a 160 year old half demon. Honor is what defined Melody as a respectable Duchess and without it she would feel like a worthless as a woman; doubt was clouding her judgement on the matter because retaining her honor had broken her heart. Bryce could tell something was amiss compared to their first meeting, even he admitted that he had changed not worth keeping company for longer than necessary, and in a short period of time they were strangers again. Before all she had to talk about was crops or methods of increasing zeni whenever they were around each other because she wanted him to join the ranks of the Duchies by protecting the western lands together. It was her ambition to amass all the zeni in the world through hard work, taking in strong capable people to tend the land, utilize economic strategies that would benefit the entire region, including the land the mandroid owned. For once she was silent, her gaze cast down, her long lashes fluttered on her cheeks as she looked around the ground with a sense of panic and intensity until they arrived at the rocky towering structure that elevated the Grand Duke’s castles.
The rock cliff was about two hundred meters high with a carved stone stairway in the center leading to the castles. At the bottom of the stairs were two glass walled structures similar to pagodas with black solar panel shingles for each level to represent the east and west that had a glass bridge connecting the highest level in the shape of a Shinto shrine with a similar curved black shingle roof over the walkway. Truffle Village’s penthouse suite residence was located in the highest floor of the East Tower. Grand Duke Oolong prized truffles so a luxurious residential suite was rewarded to the Duchess that was also shared with Tundra Village and Orchestra village if they were visiting the city.
The inside of the east tower had a high ceiling lobby with red wooden rafters, the walls and floor comprised of beautiful polished white marble with a sense of a mirrored reflection from the hanging large white paper lanterns. Golden statues of Oolong and Yajirobe wearing festival attire made up most of the decor along with massive porcelain vases depicting a demonic feast. The tower staff all bowed as Melody walked passed by towards gold plated ornate elevator doors. Taking the elevator to the highest floor, Portobello was standing by with a slight bow, the teenage boy was her spiritual witch assistant, a lit candle was floating above his head as an indication that divinated her arrival; he took it in his hand and blew out.
The common area was massive, with tatami mat flooring, black furniture, and similar decor as the lobby at a smaller scale. The pots that decorated the room were dead wood logs with mushrooms growing under a specialized dark lights. In the center of the room was a cascading fountain with a fine fog filling the base, it was a result of the carved ice block that was on the center platform on the top.
“Welcome to your home away from home, my lady. What can I assist you with?”
“Heal Will O’ Wisp…and find someone to repair this Android samurai. I am sure the staff in the lobby know of someone who is an expert. When they regain consciousness tell them they can stay as long as they like in the empty guest rooms.”
“As you wish, my lady.” Portobello carried Will O’ Wisp to the massive living area placing him on a black chaise with gold ornate wood and began using his magic to restore the feline first before tending to Riku.
“I am going home...to Truffle Village.” Melody announced as she waited on Bryce to drop the samurai in the living room and then walked back inside the elevator to leave the building with her given that he had not made plans to stay. Again, there was only silence between them, and on a typical day the Duchess would hold a conversation but she was past all that. Even if the fight was won, she walked with a defeated stride, the pain from her injuries was nothing compared to the turmoil she was suffering from as she drifted away.
