While it seemed like she might have guilted the Korin descendant into believing he could have changed the world in the past, the green haired blade master was simply making the point across that she wanted to change the world at present, one scoundrel at a time, even if she had to apply her own underhanded tactics to influence people in her own way. Melody gritted her teeth, after everything that was said, Will O’ Wisp still attempted to teach her a lesson, by threatening her with divulging her secret offer of refuge for Romanus to the Grand Dukes, if she insisted on fighting him, and none of his words made any sense to her; a real friend would keep a secret. Did he have a chance to stop and think about the reasons Why a young man who lost his way, kill a Oolong descendant, and threaten the public be given up for dead entirely? What was wrong with her methods of redemption for the less fortunate? The Duchess merely offered the same kindness she had given Cress when they first met in Truffle Village, perhaps with a little less tact as she was pressed for time; she threatened the saiyan with facts that everyone was out there to get him and she was his only chance for safety. As far as she could tell the anarchist was quite young and it was unfathomable why he had been so violent from his teenage years onwards; the city had been neglecting people like him, something she closely related to. A lobotomy would allow for quick character adjustment if it came down to it but the saiyan escaped in her attempt to persuade him. How would the feline be able to approach Romanus differently and still be influential on the man? What made him think that he was better than her, the semblance of tears on his visage confused her, and she wondered what part of his feelings was injured when she was personally feeling quite betrayed by his methods. There were more questions than answers and they were both done deliberating when the cat turned away. The fact of the matter was that they were past having a conversation, she could not ignore his departure with the mysterious samurai, and her delay to follow them was her entire thought process of her indecision. “I already made up my mind the moment I drew my blade on these fools. Does life make more sense when rendered near death for someone like Will San?” Melody stood by watching the cat leave with the samurai while she spoke coldly to Cress, “The will to survive exists at the brink of death within everyone, the chance at happiness on this wretched earth ruined by the forces of good and evil. No one is absolutely good, that is nonsense, and crossing paths with someone who is completely evil just means life has failed to reason. To think someone as young as Romanus was a lost cause is such a waste. Now he threatens the city of sin. I could not apply any charm, zeni, or reason on the matter. Can this day get any worse? Let’s find out, shall we?”Melody followed Will O’ Wisp into the forest, much to his disappointment, she was not going to allow him to lecture her because she was a leader in the Western Lands, a Duchess who laid down her own laws on her territory as she deemed fit. A Turkeysaurus Rex cut her off before catching up to the cat, with her sword still drawn she immediately decapitated the beast, and was immediately surrounded by an entire heard when she realized it was a juvenile based on how much bigger the others were. If it were up to her, her violet eyes would invoke fear on these dinosaurs, but they were wild beasts who were hungry to feast on her. Rather than deal with them she motioned for Cress to take care of it as she walked past the snarling sharp teeth in their attempt to intimidate her. It seemed once they were fillet it would make a proper meal after dealing with the cat. Rik @null Will O. Wisp

Melody spoke like a woman scorned. It was clear that it bothered her about the murderer, now identified as Romanus—a Saiyan whose brute force tactics had turned him into Public Enemy #1. She had offered him a deal: the sort of deal that only came around once in a lifetime, yet due to his altercation with Ambitious Ninja Boy, it wasn't clear what Romanus decided to do. And as always, when a good plan went awry, someone cried about it. She was more angry than hurt; Melody's pride was insulted by the young thuggish Saiyan, that much was clear to Cress. Now to make matters worse, the tiny cat man was intent on revealing the truth of Melody's darker ambitions to the Grand Dukes—the results of which would clearly lead to a fate most dire for the resourceful woman. Cress knew the Duchess would not allow that to happen. She didn't wait around for his reply: she started after Will and the strange samurai—possibly another android due to his lack of sensible ki—but was accosted by a Turkeysaurus Rex. It roared and charged, yet was decapitated for all its efforts. More came, and she left the heavy duty work for him. He let out a sharp huff of breath and rolled his eyes. His fists clenched and tightened at his sides, trembling with anger and the mounting thrill of combat. It wasn't the dinosaurs bearing down upon him that annoyed him. It was Melody herself. Was she so concerned about that Saiyan runt that she did not consider the threat of his own words? She acted as if her concern was for Oolong City, yet he had threatened to raze an entire city block to the ground... and she hadn't batted an eyelash in response to him? They thought he was a joke. Despite his obvious power, he'd been insulted and downplayed by all of them as if he were some petulant toddler throwing an angry tantrum, fit for little else than the condescending remark of a tired parent. He'd show them. He'd show them all. He would make good on his promise. And not even Melody would sway him otherwise.
There was a brilliant flash of light. It was immediately followed by a giant explosion that spanned out from the epicenter as the giant dome of violet energy spread in a wide diameter. It shook the area, setting trees ablaze and scorching the earth. Nothing remained of those dinosaurs saved their charred, half-disintegrated skeletons.
His heavy footsteps could be heard as he caught up to Melody, running along at her side. Trees passed in a blur as they moved at a casual yet brisk pace, intent on catching up to their foes. It was a fool who let their opponent choose the terrain. "You know I wasn't kidding, right?" He asked her. "After we beat the snot outta these fools, you can go after that runt and samurai all ya want. But I'm heading back to Oolong City, and a lot of people are gonna get hurt." His dark gaze slid to hers: his eyes were like flint, flat and empty. "They think I'm a joke? I'll show 'em otherwise."Melody Will O. Wisp Rik[ 535 / 535 ]

So many different feelings, so many thoughts, so many things that could be said or shouldn't have been said. Is what Will is doing the right thing to do? Even he does not know at this moment as he is just so conflicted over what's going on that he has no idea what is the best thing for him to be doing. Emotions can drive people to make rash decisions or say things they don't mean or act in foolish ways. It seems he is not exempt from this. He then looked back behind him as he feels the two powers heading his way, so they are following them after all. So she chose to fight them after all, well then so be it, if it's a fight she wants it's a fight she will get. Then he watches as the large blast of violet light came from over there, that must've been from her burly friend. He does seem to be pretty strong as well he just hopes that his new ally will be able to aide him. He then turns around and continues walking forward. "Samurai, you are probably confused about what happened. Let's just say me and the green-haired woman had a history together before, now that is in the past. We must focus on the present as these two do not seem keen on letting us go easily after we heard so we must defend ourselves. It's going to be a tough battle so I am going to have to count on you to not falter and fight with everything you have, if you have any ideas of a strategy then I am all ears. I could try to focus on her unstable friend while you go after Melody if you wish, and if worse comes to worst I do think there is a way I can attack both of them." Will explained. He then continued walking to he stopped in an open area in the forest. It was if it was a natural arena with not many places for anyone to run or hide. It is where they will fight without harming anyone or anything. Will then sits on top of a rock waiting for them. The only thing he can do now is to wait for them.

Riku sheathed his blade as first the Duchess, and then her hulking bodyguard or whatever he was followed after Master Wisp. He took a deep breath to recenter his emotions; he had been letting anger drive him a little too hard tonight. He would need all the clarity he could muster for this fight. After a moment he felt a bit more himself and began making his way out into the forest, leaving the panicked screams and cries still circulating in the Rooster. If he and his new ally failed, the Rooster might not be here after tonight if that huge brute was to be believed. He shook his head, Time to focus on the task at hand... suppress the emotions for now, feel them after the battle. Riku pushed his anxiety, anger, and doubt deep down inside of himself and pushed himself to run faster.
The trees were flashing by quickly now and he had to stop and turn his eyes for a moment as a huge violet ki burst almost blinded him as it exploded in the darkness. That's probably the big one... doesn't seem the style of the Duchess. He wondered if they had started without him at first... but after no further blasts happened he thought he must have just run into some kind of beast. He continued toward the others and stopped as he reached the clearing and made his way around the edge until he had a clear path to the Turtle Hermit master and then started walking over to him. He came to rest beside his ally and listened to his proposed battle plan. He paused for a moment to scan the Duchess Melody as she came into good scanner range...
Scanning.... Subject is Human. Trying to read power level... Scanning... Power Level: 8500 Recommendation: EXTREME CAUTION
Riku leaned his neck first to one side, then the other, popping it and stretching. He dropped all emotions to the vault... they would only get in the way of a battle like this. His voice was cold and emotionless almost like the robotic side of him had taken over as he spoke, "Indeed. I will meet her blade for blade and let you take the other. If one of us is victorious we can help the other. I wish you luck, Master Wisp." His voice was not a symptom of his surgery... he had always fought truly serious battles this way. He walked off to the side of the cat-kin master and assumed a relaxed pose, watching how the duchess moved. She was... dangerous indeed. Nodded to her he said, "I will face you, duchess. Master Wisp will face your companion. Are you ready?" Riku assumed a ready pose of Iajutsu, which was part of his classical training. He didn't know if people still even used it or not... but it was an excellent form for counter attacks and it avoided actually baring a blade if you weren't sure if your opponent was going to attack outright or talk.

For the longest time, Melody never understood the inner workings of Cress’ mind, there was something inside of him that made him act on impulse on top of spewing words that lacked conviction yet were full of rage. Had Romanus influenced him about setting the whole world on fire on a whim or because their personal feelings were hurt? Are the weak just supposed to take the blame for their shortcomings? Even if Cress murdered people in the past she was not going to allow him to step out of line on Pig Demon Duchy territory under her watch. The second threat he made about burning down the city was insulting her self worth and she did not have to question his motivations on the matter because it was clearly a direct challenge. She wanted to laugh but instead smiled demurely as usual, something he had seen many times in the past before, whether it was all part of her act or not she executed it perfectly. The thrill of the hunt excited her more than anything else, after their long awaited fight a couple of days ago in the red light district, Cress wanted more and she wanted to give him another turn with her blade; perhaps there was not enough scars between them to remind themselves of each other and she was in love with the idea. Inflicting pain on the weak yielded no joy but it was invigorating to take down the strong. All those nights playing Onitama with her vassal until dawn were met with the desire to win even under the influence of sake. Nothing pleased her more than to see Cress lose at such a simple game and she allowed him to win a few times or else he would take out his anger on the village. However, she had no intention of letting him win this time, it was her duty to protect Oolong city even if she only wanted to protect her loyal subjects first, with Portobello out of the way, she did not have to worry about keeping anyone safe apart from whatever had been fueling the fire within the half demon. For a minute she realized the environment might have been the culprit, if the vile city of sin made her uncomfortable compared to living in the rich atmosphere of Truffle village, it was possible her vassal felt the same; somehow his demonic energy emboldened him with the atrocities earthlings indulged in Oolong city, sins of greed that were a complete waste of time and effort by contributing nothing to the world apart from spending zeni on hosts or gambling. At least Cress had one thing right in his list of priorities, Will O’ Wisp and the unknown samurai had to be taken down first, it was a matter of pride, and individual growth to challenge their opponents resolve. “I hear you loud and clear. I will always have enough energy to take you on, Cress. I am looking forward to it later…are we going to try to kill each other this time or not? I did promise to comply last time.” Melody mused in a seductive voice, teasing him almost, but lethal in her statement. Will O’ Wisp was sitting on a rock surrounded by a clearing of dead leafless trees, even his slant eyes did not hide the fact that he was feeling internally conflicted, and they were both about to learn the lesson of their entire existence on earth in an exchange of blows. Blood dripped from the Turkeysaurus Rex on Melody’s drawn blade, as well as a few drops on her marigold yukata and indigo obi, she pulled a string out from the sides of her hips revealing the bare sides of her tan fit legs, like a long sleeved cheongsam. The wardrobe she had custom tailored for the city was battle ready, she especially wore this outfit in the instance that she had to fight Romanus, but a cat appeared at the wrong place at the wrong time. The spirit she was cursed with by her witch assistant began to whisper in her ear, the black smoky orb chuckled with an eerie echo, and a glint in her violet eyes allowed her to learn three abilities in an instant to adjust her full potential specifically for this fight. The forces from the other side would grant her the edge she needed to invoke her beliefs on the opposition. It did not matter if it was Will O’ Wisp or the samurai, she had every intention to take them both out, and she deadpanned as Riku drew near. “I was born ready. Riku stood poised for battle as the duchess asked for the name to put onto his tombstone... It seemed that she was confident in her abilities indeed. He answered her in an un-rattled monotone, "You address Riku Masumura; a long time ago I was once the warlord for my Daimyo, Shugo Onin. Through various happenings I have ended up in your time... a time that is much different in many ways, some troubling and some wondrous." He paused to flex his hands on his sword blade and then continued, "In these times, your children almost never die; indeed many things that were deadly in my time seem to be minor inconveniences here. You have horseless carriages and even metal birds that carry you everywhere. It is quite shocking though I am starting to grow... numb to it I think." He could almost feel something in the air by the duchesses head so he tried to initiate a scan...
Scanning...
...
Nothing detected.
He dismissed the feeling for now... if his sensors weren't picking it up maybe it was just a odd feeling. He continued addressing Melody, "One thing has not changed on hundreds of years and I suppose that should be comforting. When I confront wrongdoers they always ask what I would like to put on my tombstone or where I would like to be buried; it seems that tradition has carried itself all the way down to you, duchess. Congratulation on bearing such a long burning torch." Rik shifted his stance a few degrees to what felt like a better defensive position, still in his iaijutsu stance; likely she would make the first move... but he would be ready. If she took too much longer... he would strike. No point in standing here all night and looking at each other.

He threatened the destruction of her city, yet all Melody offered him was a sly smirk. She finally responded to his threat, and as per usual she agreed to rise to meet his challenge head-on. There was a hint of something more: something sensuous that held the promise of a delectable treat to come. His heart seemed to skip a beat, and something stirred deep within his loins. He glanced over at her, lust permeating the demonic aura that coated his body. Wrapped in her fancy marigold yukata, she presented herself as little more than a piece of candy to be unwrapped and savored, and Cress found he greatly anticipated the clash to come. But first... they had some scrubs to deal with. The dense thicket of trees that surrounded them began to thin out, and up ahead Cress could see a clearing. They entered the clearing at a mad dash and found their foes waiting for them. Cress's eyes immediately scanned the perimeter, but as far as he could sense, there were no traps lying in wait. "Tch. Way to waste an advantage," he grumbled, glaring at the samurai and small cat. They still didn't take them seriously—still did not understand the depth of danger they found themselves in. That or they had reason to be as confident and self-assured as they seemed to be. Either way, the half-demon would not take the insult lying down. Cress would deliver a vicious beating, and it would serve as a warning to all who beheld their wretched, broken forms from this point forward. He was not to be toyed with. He was the demon. The cat said nothing, but allowed his companion and Melody to address each other by some set of unspoken standard possessed by all blade masters. The samurai, known as Riku, even provided them with some backstory. Cress rolled his eyes and shook his head. He had never understood this part of the fight. What was the point of honoring and respecting your opponent? They were just going to wind up dead in a few short minutes anyway. "If you guys don't mind, I have a city to destroy." He cut in abruptly, interrupting their conversation. "And I don't like to be kept waiting. You see that's the problem: ya just don't take me seriously enough. But that'll change after I beat your asses—I can guaran-damn-tee that!" He stepped forward, cracking his knuckles. "And you don't dictate who the hell I fight, either! I'll take both of you scrubs on—hell all three of you, I don't care! What are you to me but insects that deserved to be crushed under my heel?" It sounded similar to who Cress was months ago when he and Melody first met during the spring festival at Truffle Village. The demonic influence had started to revert him back to his baser instincts: pillage, harm, and kill. It was getting out of control. If something wasn't done, Cress would devolve into something far worse than any of them had ever seen before. Perhaps Zeranna was right all along... perhaps he was fit for nothing more than destruction. The son of two empires. The future Emperor of Earth. Yeah... it had a nice ring to it. "So we gonna do this or what? Which one of you idiots wanna get smashed first?"Roll for Initiative - cXyHHFwa1d100Melody Will O. Wisp Rik[ 560 / 1095 ] 1d100

"Mind tell me your name so I can put it on your gravestone,"?! Is she is seriously for real is she trying to be menacing but coming off of some kind of cheesy comic book or cartoon villain. Honestly, it's hard to believe that this woman is the same Melody as the one he knows before. The demonic man still yells angrily like a toddler seeking attention by having a tantrum. Claiming that he will still destroy the city once they beat him, Will well make sure he won't be given the opportunity. "Honestly with a friend like this Melody is evidence of your judgment lately has been lacking if you just let him keep claiming to destroy a city in your territory without even a slap on the wrist. Like an owner not tightening the leash of a dog's collar, it seems you might end up for a rude awakening one day if you keep yourself associated with this brute. And from the way he is acting biting you might be actually what he might end up doing nya ha ha ha," Will said. It was then again that Will noticed the strange floating orb beside Melody, it appeared to have a face. Is that some kind of spirit? Since when could he be able to see spirits? Is it because of him being partially immortal due to his father's heritage or that he was once nearly at death's door before and thus is closer to the afterlife? Whatever the explanation perhaps it might have something to do with Melody's actions. "I couldn't help but notice your other friend, the small one floating beside you. It may be just a poor old fool's idealistic hopes, but is that spirit possessing you? Making you say or do these things, having you act and talk like a villain that you would see in a show for children. If my guess is true then if the Melody I know is still in there show me in some subtle way I would know, and if it's not true then I will have no remorse for what is to happen. Your friend, however, doesn't seem to have a spirit following them so there is no excuse for his behavior and they are just an asshole, so I have no quarrel fighting them," Will said. He then took his cape and threw it off as he went into a fighting pose and stared down Cress with a determined stare.

“Wrongdoers? Hardly. Just strays trying to survive our wretched lives by forming into a pack on instinct alone. Feed and clothe other strays then perhaps a stray will remain a loyal friend...or bite as Will-san suspects.” Her violet eyes glanced over to Cress and the cat before directing her gaze back on Riku, “Fighting is all I ever known, the world will keep on turning, and for as long as I am alive I will keep the flame burning on my blade.”A violet colored aura began to surround her body as she channeled her ki into the bolts of energy that danced around her form as she held a blade master’s stance. While Melody was under the strict tutelage of Duke Glacier, she did not follow a martial artist code, typical to what Riku and Koma seemed to follow. However, she felt wronged by both of these martial artists and for the most part had been insulted with their approach on different matters. What makes martial artists so great with their sense of justice if they failed society as a whole. It was not enough to protect innocent lives but the wretched ones earned their place in the world to form a balance. The victor would reign supreme over the true call of duty. Riku shook his head at her words, "I can hardly believe that you are a stray, Duchess. However, if you are sincere in your desire to give the lost and cast out a place, that is a good thing. Giving a murderer a chance to flee justice might be going one step to far, however. You are a noble of this land and should be upholding its laws, surely." He studied her stance and then nodded to himself, shifting his footing slightly and scooting a bit closer to the glowing swords woman. He met her eyes without flinching and said, "You're blade is on fire, but I am the water that will quench it; The struggle has begun, your sword has been bared; Only through sweat and blood can our disagreement be repaired; So be on your guard, lest your wickedness fall hard." He pulled at his blade and made sure it was loose and ready to draw. He had a feeling this duchess was going to be very quick and she was in a blade master's stance. He stood, with only a finger's breadth of his blade bared to the world; poised like a leopard in a tree to take action. He reached inside of himself and opened himself up to his power... a golden aura flared into being around him, lighting the area around him in stark contrast to the purple light of the duchess. { } DEFENSE PHASE.

The cat man continued to be insulting, slandering Cress as if he were merely some vicious mutt tugging at the end of his leash. He could not understand why a duchess of Melody's lineage and stature would align herself with a man like Cress and resolved himself to the inevitability of the fight. The samurai seemed to possess quite a bit more honor, hand clasping the hilt of his blade as he stood at the ready and prepared to engage. He spoke some strange collection of words as if he thought himself some sort of sage warrior. He was nothing of the sort. The pair of them together were but irritating insects that had taken a few too many bites at Cress's skin. He was done talking. His fist clenched at his sides, trembling with anger. Anger at the pair of foes before him. Anger at himself for allowing himself to be viewed as a joke. Life was so much simpler when all he had to look forward to was bathing the ground in the blood of his enemies. Perhaps that would be remedied here today. "What a pair of Mary's." Cress planted a hand on top of his head, the other gripping his jaw. He snapped his head with an almost brutish force to one side first, and then the other. The sound of the muscles and tendons snapping in his neck resounded in the clearing. "Gotta limber up before I beat your asses." He glanced over at Melody, and a silent look passed between them. He was posturing, too. Making it seem as if he were angrier than he actually was. It was simply a ploy to keep them off guard. In truth, he was loyal to Mel. Always would be. "Try to stay outta my way, lady. You can claim honor later. Let me flatten these fools first."Melody Will O. Wisp Rik[ 311 / 1406 ] CRESS, DEMON SAIYANSUMMARY PHASE.

Again Melody tries to justify their actions. Rik manages to explain how he feels about this situation better then he can at this moment. And the half-demon calls them Mary's. What does that even mean, and how is that an insult towards them? Will began to limber up and stretch his muscles as well before trading blows with the brute. "You know you're the first person I faced who did horrible things but said they had noble intentions. A man named Heater who went and fought and killed countless people just because he believed by using fear to drive people to become strong enough to beat Demon King Piccolo. He even killed an old man that he deemed was too weak to live with no pity or remorse. After I defeated him I broke one of his arms and sent him to prison. The more you try to fool yourself in doing what you did before and are about to do, it is closer to a dark path where few have escaped from." Will said. After Will was done spitting out wisdom he got into a fighting stance, he then begins to attune his animalistic instinct and senses to the environment around him. He did not just pick this area so none may be hurt, but because out here in nature, where there is no noise or smells polluted by man, he can be able to sense them easier. He has done many survival training by living out in various wildernesses for weeks if not months on end so here he has a sort of home-field advantage. He just prays to whatever God may hear him that it would be enough. His aura then begins to flow and spike around him. No screaming or warning that he was going to do that it just happened. As if his aura was a calm ocean whipped up by a raging storm. If they could read his aura they would be able to feel his anger. And all of it being directed currently at the half-demon.

Almost all was heard by the mandroid. Melody, that cat-being, and the samurai. Melody seemed to be.. not angry, disappointed. That cat seemed to want to diffuse the situation and that samurai was.. there for defense? For all he knew, with the energy he sensed from both the woman and the cat, they were able to defend themselves. So why was the samurai there? And trying to sense him yielded no results either. Android? But one with a sword. Melody had a sword too. Why were there always swords involved?! That cat seemed to be okay at keeping his cool through it all though, and it kind of reminded Bryce of the monks from his earlier life. The ones that all knew he was trained wrong, yet did nothing to fix it. The cat reminded him of those, and it got him more worked up than anything else going on here. He finally jumped down from the rock he was perched on due to hearing some stern words being thrown around, and looked around, eventually just walking closer to Melody's side. He noticed that the samurai had taken on a fighting stance familiar to him, and it told him this guy at the very least knew how to use a sword, which was icing on the shit cake, really. But what did it succeed in other than that, was getting Bryce to take on a fighting stance of himself without any uttered word. Just intent staring at the samurai, not even giving the cat the time of day. His eyes swayed sideways. ''You want them to die or just to teach them a lesson?'' Bryce asked. Now, if she would tell him it was just a lesson they'd need to learn he was more than happy obliging despite not knowing what that lesson was. =========== WC: 304 zXrzf1kf1d100Defensive Phase Bryce is hit 0 time(s) for 0 damage!

Techniques
Clash [1/1] -19 ki + cost of attack When you activate Clash, you perform one attack of your choosing in response to a single unresolved attack targeting you. Reduce the damage of the target attack by the amount of damage that your own attack would deal. You must still make an Accuracy Roll, and if your attack's total damage would exceed your opponent's, they must respond to your attack as if you had performed it normally- with an additional damage modifier equal to the damage roll(s) of your opponent’s attack. If this would reduce an attack's damage to 0, you also resist any effects it would have caused.
Enhanced Sense ∞ You gain +5 Defense versus all unresolved attacks targeting you this turn; additionally, you gain +5 Accuracy with all attacks used this turn. Whenever you use Sense, you gain 1 DR and +1 Damage with all attacks on that turn. This increases by +1 DR and +1 Damage for every 3 turns you’ve taken in the current battle. [0/3]
Countermeasures [1/1] -14 ki You gain 2 stacks of "Countermeasure". Stacks of "Countermeasure" may be used as a Reactive At-Will action to reduce Reactive Standard Actions you use to Reactive Bonus Actions, and Reactive Bonus Actions to Reactive At-Will Actions. Each stack used applies to only one Action and must target an action used in the same turn you used that stack of "Countermeasure".

Melody made the gravest mistake of her life by falling in love with her vassal, she knew he was a demon to the core, and she never expected him to cross her despite forgiving him several times before. The wise cat saw through it even if she was blinded by her unreciprocated desire to be with Cress no matter what he did or said. It pained her to see him as anything else besides a traitor to her ambition for fame and fortune. As her heart shattered to pieces from the revelation that her love was fruitless, the shine in her violet eyes dulled, and while she was running towards Riku at first she had to seal the wound in her heart first by turning around. The Duchess could not stand another minute being around Cress. For a year she sacrificed all of her time to be with him and she wanted it all paid back in full. A vendetta that she never thought she would be forced to fulfill, like a haunting nightmare, it was turned into reality. In another life, at a different time, there was a moment where their circumstances were different and they were honest with each other from the start. However, there was no turning back the hands of time to amend all that, and she was not going to feel anymore regret if she ended it all here because it seemed easier to let him go. The half demon promised her nothing other than his will to fight by her side, she never needed him to interfere in any fight on her behalf when they first met, and if he followed her along into the woods it was obvious that his pride that led him after it was hurt by Riku. Now she feared ever feeling whole again as she buried her silent feelings with the sword in her hand, cutting through the air as she closed the distance with Cress, and bringing it down on the ground in front of him so that she could save herself from being seen as weak. Melody had become tired as she was beginning to age and she was trying to hold onto the dream of building a future of leaving behind her legacy. The last time she attempted to cut through Cress there was hesitation which she always knew was her biggest flaw in battle. At the rate they were going, leaving yesterday behind was the eminent, which would result in her fading away, and she was not going to forgive herself for allowing that to happen in this lifetime over someone who she should have never carelessly given her heart to. “I walk my path of glory alone. Always. Go home, whether it’s whatever hole you crawled out of, the red light district, or the tobacco farmlands in the north. I don’t care anymore, be gone.” Melody reached inside the pocket of her yukata and threw four stacks of rolled zeni bills bound tightly into cylinders secured by rubber bands at Cress’ feet;each rolled up cylinder consisted of one thousand zeni with fifty rolled up bills valued at fifty thousand a roll for a grand total of two hundred thousand zeni. The weight of her words and actions was proof for Lord Belial, son of two Empires, that it was over between them from this moment on. If he managed to make her skin crawl it was because her loneliness made her vulnerable. Her dull gazed looked over to Bryce emerge from the woods, she did not expect the tears to fall from her eyes then, as she could not bare to watch Cress leave silently, and used the sleeve of her Yukata to wipe her face as she kept her back turned to her opponents. As the android towered over her, he spoke coldly of the situation, and she furrowed her eyebrows together. “It is easier to just let this go but fighting is all I have ever known. If that is the only way I can solve all my problems so be it. I don’t know what else to do. This is a lesson I must learn. I expect that you are here because you want to be, Bryce.” After a beat, she looked around, “Will O’ Wisp is someone I still care about even if he is trying to change me to something I am not; so don’t kill him, please. I will take down Riku because he is in the way. It all ends here.”Melody rushed Riku, she was emotionless when she wielded her blade, in quick succession she sliced right at him with everything in her power to inflict her ki imbued blade upon him. Riku saw another man step into the clearing after Cress left and looking at Will with some sort of anger broiling in his eyes... Oh great another challenger is all we need. The thoughts were drive from his mind as the green haired duchess charged in swiping with deadly intent. Her first blow was a little too confident and was swung a hair too soon... so he stepped to the side and struck out at her as she closed in, aiming a blow straight into her ribs. As a consequence, he was out of position when her follow up attack crashed down onto his armor plated shoulder and almost knocked him down. It did succeed in knocking him back a few steps and rattling him for a moment.
He gathered his wits and started moving his blade around in careful movements, showing different possible angles of attack that would necessitate different defensive moves in response and watched her face carefully. She didn't seem to be rattled at any of the angles so he just chose one at random and slashed towards her right knee in a sudden slashing strike before he stepped back into a more defensive stance. He braced himself for more of her swift swordplay even as he planned his own next move...
