Shortly after leaving home, Tiger Lily discovered that she had not been human as she thought for the past sixteen years, and uncovered the truth after meeting Cayle Potato. While she did not want to return to face her parents, this monkey tailed boy flew her back home, and her father was quick to act overprotective of her. The clash between saiyans had been verbal but soon after Cayle revealed all the scars on his body did he affirm that he was not in alliance with the Tuffles. After her mother’s intervention, she trusted that she raised her daughter well enough to leave home to live with her uncle Toad Lily, while she convinced her husband to give their teenage daughter a chance to prove herself. At her uncle’s penthouse apartment, Cayle confessed that Tiger Lily was a beacon of hope for a brighter future, affirming his feelings by gifting her a shard of what is suspected of being from a dragon ball; after finding an Emperor Pilaf Doll holding a clear plastic ball with a single star in the middle. The shard was symbolic to the fact that she had intended to go on her Seventeenth Birthday to Pilaf Land, an expensive Theme Park, that would cost her a fortune to save in order to enjoy it to the fullest. While Cayle occupied his time taking care of saiyan refugees in an illegal makeshift housing warehouse belonging to Taco King Incorporated, Ty occupied her own time doing odd jobs in the city to save up for her birthday.
While training in the late afternoon in a storm drain with fireflies, Ty caught a glimpse of Achido walking over a bridge wearing a martial arts gi, she challenged him to a spar, which resulted in an even match once they were covered in mud. The spar lasted all through the night, way past their teenage curfew, and were forced to sneak over to the boardwalk vending machines as she promised to pay for a meal if he taught her something new--it turned out she had the natural ability to fight. The two teenagers instantly became friends and made plans to build their own training gym so they can get stronger together. Now her required savings was even greater in zeni and she needed to buckle down to work hard to reach all of her goals so that her parents would be proud of her efforts; eventually to look for missing saiyans, one of which is her father’s twin sister Cha Cha who has been missing since he was five years old.

One day, Toad Lily sent his niece to the grocery store and on her way there witnessed a crime, one thing led to another and she suspected an android who called himself Luther to be culprit, and he was quite formidable to fight against. While she only demanded that he surrender himself to South City police, he refused, and almost killed her in the process. In their exchange, she told him that criminals had rights, and the law protected them in order to defend their case. It mattered to the teen greatly that not everyone in the world was bad. Most people were often misunderstood and she thought Luther was one of those people. When he left her lying on the ground, she told the authorities that the dumpster suddenly exploded when she was chasing after the assailant, and she did not recall how it happened but she pointed them in the direction of the gun that was at the scene of the crime. Without thinking she realized that Luther may have fingerprints all over that piece of evidence.
