It became obvious to Majin Nal that she needed other people to practice with - otherwise any and every chance of having her power increased and her mystic abilities honed was plainly impossible. And it was, at first, not a hard task - bandits were everywhere and nobody really minded if they were beaten up, except for more bandits, which in turn have solved the problem entirely - the more she did beat up, the more of them came for revenge, giving the gray gal a chance to practice some more. It was an unending chain of useful lessons! For a while.
Eventually, bandits stopped coming, because they knew that being beaten enough times meant that enemy is simply too strong to beat, and they were better off going elsewhere. And even as she traveled, finding more bandits that did not yet know that lesson, Nal soon discovered that beating slower, weaker people does very little to help her learn her powers more. In fact, it did nothing, even weakening her - as the majin have quickly noticed that being able to easily dispatch the foes made her think she could just win with anyone, which caused her no small amount of trouble when the slightly stronger enemies showed up. So, the demon deduced, she needed to find stronger, better enemies. Or friends. Friends could be easier to keep training with than enemies, and with luck, they would get stronger alongside her and in the end, be of even more use in training later.
With that in mind, the majin closed her eyes and once more began to sense. Having done so plenty times by now, it was easy to slip into the focused enough state to do so - especially when she helped herself to an apple gumdrop, which in her mind, was associated with sensing and searching. For no reason other than her conditioning herself towards that, helped by the fact she did, by now, forget that this was the case. Apple have since become synonymous to sensing - which had some odd effect when the majin ate apples at random, but that was neither here nor there. For now, there were powers - powerlevels all around, some higher, some weaker. There was that one she has been following for quite a while - even since her incursion into the demonlands with Atalan, though there was another one nearby - it wasn't as overwhelming, but still stronger than those of the ordinary people. Perhaps a stronger bandit, or a wandering hero. With a nod, the gray majin decided - she would follow that power, find it's owner and challenge him, or her, to a fight. Not an overly serious one, just a fight to learn. Well, unless that person was really aggressive, but that would have to be seen - Nal was ready to go all out if needed. Hoping that there wouldn't be a need for it - killing people meant there were fewer left to fight to get better. And that was absolutely the opposite of her goal.

Koma, son of Swing, was a man who had not missed a day of practice and exercise in his entire life following his initial entrance into martial arts training. Now thirty years of age and looking boyish despite it, he continued the process. Every day, no matter where he was, he began his day with the best meal that he could scramble together and then with physical and mental training. First basic exercises, such as performing imagined kicks, punches, elbow strikes, knee jabs, heel stomps, and flips- and then with jogging, push ups, sit ups, and jumping jacks.
After finishing that, the dark haired, slate gray eyed human-saiyan hybrid would finish up his exercise and physical training with what looked to the be the greatest challenge that was to be found nearby. Today it was a simple enough challenge, but one which he felt some level of dismay at accepting. The local farmers and merchants in the border region of the Southlands had reported a large bear being controlled through witch craft or simply being possessed by a demon, attacking their homesteads, livestock, and even people. It had begun with those words and and an offer of a bounty of Zeni and food if he could save the daughter of the town's doctor, who had been kidnapped by the bear.
The vagabond had went about finding the monster of a bear and fighting it hand to hand as his daily challenge, saving the girl and not bothering to go collect his money until he had carried the bear to the side of the road near the small hamlet's central avenue of business, and set up a camp site there. He had gathered his payment after that, before unpacking the cauldron he carried with him and using the potatoes, butchered bear meat from the defeated bear, carrots, onions, and tomatoes, and beginning to cook a meal to tide him over with for his day's travel. He planned to head further north in the Southlands, perhaps northwest, looking for mines and a blacksmith so he could try to find a replacement for his broken sword- but he did not leave to go do it just yet. For now, he worked on the task at hand and spent a few hours cooking up his bear stew and bear jerky, while drying out the hide to either use as a cloak and blanket or to sell for supplies at the next big town he found.
When the food was finished, he sat with his legs in an arrowhead like position and began to slowly tuck away into the first of many bowls of bear stew.

Eagerly, the gray majin strode towards the sensed power - there was a bunch of people nearby, probably a small town or a camp, Nal didn't know nor cared. The one thing important to her right now was that lone power around it - and so, the majin strode right towards it, humming a tune under her breath. The girl frowned, however - humming was nice, but she really missed the music from that Kiryu man's bike. Something had to be done to keep music with her. Maybe the people had some interesting things that could help with that - if vehicles had thingies to make music, maybe there were portable ones, too? After all, people carried just about everything in those silly capsules these days.
And then, there was that smell. The smell of some delicious food - one that was a little similar to those sausages in the city, but different - fresher, better, without as many condiments on it. And even though she wasn't really hungry... the idea of eating food was more than appealing to the majin. And so, she turned her lively stride into a dash, sprinting towards where that smell was coming from. Quite possibly seen from a long way away, since she didn't even try to hide. A campfire, a man and a lot of meat. Coincidentally, this was also the man she was looking for - she thought. Well, it was at least worth testing - and with that thought, the majin approached, grinning ear to ear at the spiky haired person, her hair tendrils flipping to mimic his hairstyle - as much as it was possible, at least, there was a lot of spikiness in that hair of his.
"Hi! I'm Nal. Your food smells tasty and I come here to fight." - she said, simply, then thought more of it. And continued rambling. "Like a training fight than a fight fight, unless you want a real fight at which point I will do that too. Then we can eat maybe. I have candy, too, for after the food. Or before." the majin finally finished babbling for a while, crossing her arms on her chest. The training gear she wore didn't have many pockets, but there were those little satchels, and from one of them, the gray gal picked up a wrapped up hard candy. Chucking it towards the sharp haired man by the fire - a gift, to show she doesn't mean (too much) harm!

If this was a situation before his katana had been broken by those hooligans, the human saiyan hybrid Samurai would have likely drawn his blade at the arrival of the gray skinned woman and used it as a deterrent after the last time he had been walked up on by a woman when he was cooking and eating. Alas, he had no sword, so he finished his bowl before standing up and rolling his shoulders. With a purposeful grimace and a terrible sound- that is to say a very loud and annoying, almost snore like yawn, he stepped forward.
“You at least have better manners than the woman that last came upon me when I was trying to enjoy my dinner and then demanded a fight. She tried to rob me of food too, so we'll put it this way. If you win, you can have a bowl of my stew. If you lose I decide if you do or not.”
Then he put the bowl and spoon in a pile near the bubbling cauldron of stew and walked into the dust and gravel road which kept his small camp separate from the town which he had been in earlier in the day. A twenty feet wide street which stretched into the horizon in both directions, he would provide them plenty of room for a spar.

The majin listened, nodding to herself. He seemed grumpy, but if she had someone come in and try to steal food without asking, she would be too. At least Nal did ask! ...sort of! And at the very least, she offered something in return, so that definitely has been less rude than just barging in and stealing food. The man spoke about fighting and if he won, he'd decide who gets the food and who doesn't... the majin thought a little to herself and came to a conclusion that was more than fair. Probably even if she did win, she'd nicely ask. Probably.
Nal wasn't so convinced of that herself.
"Alright, that sounds fair. It is your food. I hope it's as tasty as those sausages in the city. Did you know they let you eat as much as you can and get you rewards if you eat the most?" - the majin commented, following the man to the roadside, where there was plenty space for fighting. And so, the majin immediately took a fighting stance, tilting her head slowly. Perhaps it would be a good idea... yes, definitely. Perhaps she could use her sword at some point - the large, yatagan-like blade needed to be tested on something or someone. If something happened, she could always heal the man after and continue! Yes, that was a great plan.

With their agreement on the circumstances of their impromptu spar set up, the dark haired Saiyan Human hybrid put his plate up on top of his cooking stand, adjusting the fire by adding a log or two to allow it to be unattended but not burn so quickly that it would burn any of the food, and then he walked out into the fifteen foot wide street which made up the main road in this region and which he had used as the separation from his camp and the small town. They were still a good deal away from the town itself, so had no reason to fear going 'all out', but none the less the former Samurai warlord from the Pig Demon Duchies threw himself into a defensive stance and began to push spiritual energy throughout his body and focus as strongly as he could to increase his spiritual energy output, in turn doing what some what call simply 'powering up'.

Seeing the man brandish his power, the majin decided to focus on it - feeling the power level and then deciding to mimic it. She closed her eyes, letting out a slight exhale as her own power focused within her body, suppressed to a level more similar to the man's - Nal didn't want to end the fight just by overpowering anyone, where's the fun in that? And what would she learn? After all, the whole reason she even decided to sense and find this person was that she realised training alone or by beating up random bandits would not do. And with that distraction out of her mind, she could now focus properly - arms spread, fists clenched, power simmering and rising within herself, unlocking some of the stored might. Afterwards, the majin opened her eyes with a grin, preparing to strike. Now, the interesting part began! The wild, dark haired former samurai clenched his teeth slightly as he felt the pressure of her power level begin to dissipate. Did she think that she would win easily if she fought him going all out? He shook his head for a moment before rolling his shoulders and hopping on his feet, considering the situation for a moment before giving her a slight bow of his head and throwing his hands up in front of his torso, one in a fist and the other an open palm, his legs perpendicular to each other with the warrior in a somewhat crouch before leaping into the air with ki powering his leap and beginning to spin, fist throwing a simple series of punches towards her. “We might as well start with the basics if this is a training spar, no? Before we switch to the fancy tricks which each of us might have. I am Koma of the Bea-” he stopped there, “Koma. What is your name?” he said even as they fought. The majin grinned, not quite sure what the head bow was, but thinking it looked polite - she returned it. Maybe it was something humans did to people they fought with in a friendly way? Or maybe this particular one was just a little odd, like her. Either way, it was time to start fighting, after her powers were sufficiently suppressed. She didn't, after all, want to- POW. SMACK. The simple punches were stunningly effective on the majin, causing her to stagger and squint - those hits were really strong... stronger than she expected from someone at this level of power. Perhaps judging people based only on their powerlevel was a dumb idea overall... the odd sting in her chest definitely felt like that. Rather annoyed at herself over this, the majin decided to release the power she had sealed, only to reapply it again - her power level flaring up, before dropping immediately, the majin returning to her regular toughness after the first few punches struck her more than expected. "I am Nal and, well, I think I underestimated you and now I feel dumb" - she said, rubbing the bruised shoulder and arm, the bruises fading away under a green aura the rubbing hand suddenly emitted. "I think I need to be tougher to last longer in this" - the majin added, before considering. He clearly wanted to play according to some rules - simple stuff first, then the more fun stuff later. While she didn't have all that much advanced training and techniques and whatnot... it was a good idea. So - she decided to mimic the man and his actions. With a greenish-gray aura flaring up around her, the majin rushed forth, throwing a punch over towards Koma's chest, followed by a spin-kick to the side! Underestimating him once was bad enough, time to get a little serious. The half-Saiyan Samurai was not without suspicion that this woman would hit hard in return for his strikes, but when he noticed her use that oh-so-rare ability of healing herself with her ki, the former warlord found a moment's feeling of jealousy at such an ability. He could have saved many of his former comrades in the Bear Clan with such an ability. He did not have time to brood on the past, however. Instead, the wild haired warrior found the grey skinned woman throwing strikes in his direction and instantly throwing up his right arm, his less dominant arm, and focusing spiritual energy throughout his arm and the area around him. The technique which he had learned through many battles and still did not have a proper name for, a natural shield for the swordsman, struck out and dampened the majin's strikes greatly. What would have left him bloody and bruised if he had not known the technique instead only left a few light bruises. With a spit of blood on the ground, the Samurai brought his lips together in a smirk and flipped backwards, digging his feet into the ground before launching himself back towards her. With a mid-air front flip, he tried to bring the heels of his feet down on her. “Are you a healer by trade?” he said as his feet plummeted. Conversing while battling was a rare skill, but one which he had mastered. The red eyes looked at the swiftly raised barrier of energy, eyeing it with intense curiousity. That was a handy thing to do and his body definitely felt harder to punch than she expected. Two mighty strikes - Nal realised after a while that they may have been a little stronger than planned, she might've gotten carried away a bit - reduced to mere scrapes. She nodded, this was definitely interesting and impressive. Briefly considering to try and learn the same, after a while, the majin shook her head to herself - this lithe, gray body was tough enough as is, it didn't need barriers to protect it! At least not yet, when there's other fun things to learn before that. Anticipating the attack, the gray girl raised her arms to intercept the punch or kick - but not expecting a front flip and basically being nailed into the ground! Both of the heels hit their marks, though this time, her form was far more resistant to strikes than it was before - but still sent the majin hunching from the sudden strike. Considering for a brief second, Nal decided to adjust once more - if need be, she could just heal up, no need to take away all the fun for the opponent while at it! "I don't trade, though maybe I should" the girl replied, lowering her shoulder - then rushing forward, trying to shoulder tackle the samurai and then - flip him over said shoulders and try to pin him into the ground head first! Like a nail. Or that tigerman so long ago. "But I do heal. I learned that when I woke up from my nap." - the response finished, talking while fighting a skill that her chaotic mind was naturally proficient at. That knocked the wind out of Koma, the warrior not capable of stopping the tackle and the piledriver from mid-air, but despite that he did not simply give up. He flipped out of her arms after his back hit the ground, using his back as a launching point and then once again he spat blood on the ground. Where before he had been able to deflect the seriously damaging strikes, these strikes sent him tumbling into the ground and afterwards made him lose much of the somewhat playful attitude that he had before. “Now we'll move it up a notch. Sometimes just punches and kicks don't do in a fight. So we'll see how you can handle this.” he said before digging his heels into the ground and flooding his body with spiritual energy. Soon it became bursting out, creating a sizzling aura as he rushed forward like a rocket and leaped to land another kick on her shoulders or head, but then spun the kick to instead throw his momentum at her midsection and plant both feet in her midsection and attempt to throw a punch towards her face with a 90 degree twist, spiritual energy bursting through his hand as he formed a claw like movement with his hand and created what would in time be another one of his trademarks. The majin grinned joyfully. She made it! The attacks succeeded and were quite fun, even though the opponent (or new friend, or perhaps both!) have avoided the fate of the tigerman and leapt away from the ground after getting hit by it. He then said something about kicking it up a notch - and that Nal was more than excited for! Even though she still didn't have all that much in terms of powerful attacks... enduring them, on the other hand, was a thing the gray majin excelled at. And then, the attack happened. Kumatsume struck with such ferocity that the majin shuddered at the mere sight of it. It was... definitely more powerful than she gave this man credit for, something she regretted once already and was about to regret again. But this time, both more and less severely. More, because she knew it would hurt a lot. Less, because this time, she was better prepared. As the bear fist came, the majin lashed back at it, her own aura flaring green and knocing away part of the tremendous attack, alongside a motion of her own hand. It still struck her and staggered the majin, not to mention it basically set her ablaze. Hurt and burning, she decided to forego the usual theatrics - while still on fire after being rent by the bear claw, she began to increase in size, soon towering over the man she fought - about as much taller to him than he was to her usually. "Alright. Time to show my stuff too." - the majin said, the curious smile on her face wiped off and replaced with a more serious, determined grimace. It was time to show off her giant form's strenght - in a form of two quick punches to the chest, one after the other. The half-Saiyan samurai was at least a little surprised at the majin woman suddenly growing to massive sizes compared to her normal size, but only a little surprised. He had heard the stories whispered before about legendary great apes, or 'Oozaru' and his punches against her gray flesh had revealed it to be at least a little rubber like. So he was not wholly surprised that she could stretch, but it was enough to catch him off guard when her series of punches flew his way. The first was easily sidestepped, but the second he more or less rolled into and took the strike, but was left smirking at the actual force applied. This woman's power level was innately much larger than his, yet here she stood fighting him and the actual strikes were not comparable. Was this part of what it was to be a person with the skill of a healer? Is that why the rare healers that existed in the Pig Demon Duchies were so well protected by their clans, because by default they were not as fearsome of fighters as other super human ability bearing samurai? It made him wonder, but he did not let up the fight. She had asked for a spar to truly challenge her and so he threw himself forward, using yet another of his techniques, as he used Ki to jump towards her upper body and then threw himself into a spin, energy jutting out of his foot like a blade and an identical one jutting out of his fist as he spun, using yet another of his techniques to strike at her. This one did not have a name, as it was just a modification of using energy blasts, but it would none the less be very harmful if it hit, likely.
