Another day of combing the Eastlands had Hapu busy. There was never time to rest, but the Shaman didn't mind maintaining his duties as a Dragon Clansman. In fact Hapu was entirely dedicated to his work as a member of the Namekian Dragon Clan on Earth, and channeling his psychic energy to find leads on Dragon Shards was his daily goal. Meditating in solitude for days, getting out in the world was a welcome pace opposed to just searching thru psychic meditation. Astral travel paled in comparison to the experience of searching with your own hands, feet, and tail.
After catching a lead about recent inquiries of Dragon Magic, Hapu was flying through the air casually while he focused on detecting psychic energy around his person. Searching for the Origin of this mental inquiry, he breathed deeply in. The Namekian was flying with his eyes closed while he used his figurative third eye to look for a trail. While his Astral investigations gave him clue, they were far from concrete and a lot of labor was put into sourcing the Astral forms of thought on Namekian Magic.
These journeys were always so long and this one would be no different. In his minds eye Hapu tracked down the source like a gas in the air, and followed the pinkish trail towards its source.
Having flown from a temple near Orange City, he was entirely functioning from spiritual sustenance, and the fasting he performed increased his telepathic prowess. The look of satiation by meditation suited him, and he was peacefully close eyed. Usually the Namekian had a sort of monstrous snarl pinned to his scaly face, but not now. Instead Hapu had a solemn sort of grin, and none of those sharp shark fangs were exposed. The horns atop his head were glowing green lights, a clear sign that he was Astral projecting.
At peace with himself in the pursuit of knowledge, and earnestly scouring for signs of Dragon Magic; Hapu was in his prime flying through the sky. The Shaman had his tail straight behind him, guiding his direction like a rudder while Hapu honed in on the nearest signs of supernatural activity related to Dragon Magic.
There were lots of witches and even Clans of Demon Namekians who roamed the countryside searching for Dragon Shards or other Namekian Artifacts lost to the earth. Occasionally one of them would become enthralled with ancient Dragon Artifacts, and even Shards had been the cause of horrific magic gone awry. Hapu was searching for such, and eventually found himself flying high above Orange City.
The Shamans personal aspirations in life were to stop any misuse of his peoples magical works, and flying around cities looking for signs was usual for him.
The blue robes he wore flapped in the wind, as Hapu was literally flying upside down this whole time. His tri-horns were glowing with that same green energy, and his face was much more strained than before. Sensing ki through the city was usually miserable, with most people outright foul and the entire psychic form of cities being muddy in the first place. Beyond that most people in Orange City were the typical weaklings commercial dojos proudly produced; so Hapu never particularly enjoyed the experience of city life. Flying high in the sky was good, but he would have to land to find his target.
Flying upside down he slowly reminded himself of these facts, and his peaceful disposition faded away while he turned himself upright with a swish of his tail. By the time his psychic rader had honed in on the ki signature Hapu had initially found, the Namekians typical scowl had returned. The pink ki was much more vivid now, and it was up to his two eyes to find the person who was emitting it while searching or Dragon Magic.
Hapu prepared to further his search by landing in the city. The pink ki was floating all over, and his spirit was picked back up with that reminder. Soon he would vanquish an enemy of Namek, and that brought peace back to the Namekian. That scowl didn't falter though, the city disgusted Hapu.
All of Hapu's flesh is covered in green scales, and as the delicate muscles within his face pinched up in disgust those scales sharp points were exposed. His skin looked rough, and as Hapu gritted his fangs the left side of his cheek curled up as his mood returned to usual disdainfulness. Grimacing with half of his fangs showing, the Namekian focused on his sensory progress as he descended. The more concious he was of the vile display of life in Orange City, the harder it became to slip his focus between ki signatures; so he started humming to himself while trying to maintain a stoic dedication to his work.
After a good hour Hapu found who he was searching for and memorized the signature of their ki. The ki was pink, and he assumed a female was the owner of this curiously mystic ki. Hapu slowly floated all the way downwards until he touched the pavement with his boots. The view wasn't as good, butnhe was sure that his enemy was going to Benin his grips real soon.
It seemed to him that he was searching for a woman in Orange City, that pink was just too soft to be from a man. A truly disgusting mission for him, since after all this woman was someone who sought to pervert Namekian Magic with Dragon Shards. Not to mention Hapu didn't condone violence against women, his Namekian upbringing was much more conservative. Never the less a woman enemy was still an enemy.
While descending Hapu had looked for any typical female meeting grounds where the target might be found. With his scaley green hands the warrior kept the sun from his eyes like a visor, and he tried to find any nail salons or movie theaters where chick's gather. He didn't find any,and really knew nothing about women anyways; but by the time he reached the ground, Hapu had a reckless idea where to begin his search for the enemy of Namek in Orange City.
With recklessness violence against his mysterious enemy on his mind; Hapu landed directly in the middle of the street without looking both ways. Had the giant Namekian not been a master of martial arts and shaman magic he might have been ran over by the barreling truck in the road. Fortunately his Reflexes were just as good as his skill with magic and the Namekians sixth sense went off before any wretched human sounds entered Hapu's ears.
A giant semi was blaring its horn at him while it was speeding in the road at him, and the Namekian was just idly standing there in a four way. With only a second to spare, the truck driver radicly swerved his long flat bed toward the shoulder. The enormous vehicle immediately tipped over, and Hapu simply raised his fist in defense. Having already expected some danger, the powerful Shaman was prepared for catastrophe.
The flat bed was about to hit him, and Hapu flexed back his balled up fist as if he were going to punch the big truck. Swiftly shifting his hips into a battle position the Shaman screamed, "Ki-YAHP!"
When his fist chambered back a swirling vortex of ki simultaneously emitted from Hapus mouth like a foreign script was being written into the air. The energy instantly overwhelmed his image like a shroud, and then exploded outward. The semi truck went flying directly into the air against the force, and comically soared way out into the atmosphere. Higher and higher it flew until anyone looking could no longer see it and a bright white star flashed in the sky.
Of course everyone was staring at the Powerhouse Hapu instead and missed the silly flash. Mouths agape at the monstrous ferocity of Hapu's terrifying form the people were in true awe at the Namekians feat. It didn't take long for panic to break out.
People were staring at the large scaley man standing in the street, who was still in position as if he were about to fight an army or maybe blow up a car with laser vision. Suddenly a woman started screaming like a lunatic and a mob scene broke out on the sidewalk. Everyone was running away, as if Hapu had ripped the gut out of a person in the streets. The break down was so fast Hapu hadnt yet to resume a standard walking posture when the people started freaking out.
The Namekian was annoyed, and sighed deeply. Keeping mind to stay focused on his mission the light around his tri horns lit up. The Shaman was searching once again.
Standing there still for a moment, Hapu waited for any sign of that womanly ki signature he was looking for. There was nothing nearby or in the dispersing crowd and with a violent burst of green ki he dashed into oncoming traffic away from the scene. If he couldn't see her with his eyes, he would just sense her out and running as fast he could the Dragon warrior was on hot pursuit for his enemy.
Hapu had no idea what was in store for him, and the vile plot of Psimon. The Demon had sensed his arrival and put its emergency escape plans into action. Not only was the Dragon Shard of Orange City in danger, the zealous pursuits of Dragon Shaman Hapu would face a great obstacle in the form of Zelda the Witch!
Running fast and surrounded by a swirling aura of dark green Ki, Hapu was searching for this mysteriously pink ki signature. He didn't know what kind of history they had with Dragon Magic that would attract the attention of himself, but his source never misled the Shaman. Running swift and dangerously he barrel leapt over a few cars, then mightily jumped onto the wall of a building. Hapu was determined to find the owner of this curiously pink aura. Protecting the secrets of Namekian culture was his life goal.
The Dragon Shaman was a master of both martial arts and the varied magics of Shamanism. Besides healing and explosive ki blasts Haou could write arcane enchantments upon equipment. All of hisnoutfir was magically charged and among that were adhesive charms that allowed Hapu to stick upon any surface.
The boots he wore were glowing with the subtle blue sheen of the arcane magic charm, and Hapu raced up a tall building after dashing off of the street and straight into the wall. The Namekian was fast and ran straight up the building, busting out windows with his heavy weight when he ran over them. As he landed on the roof his shoes released their hold on the ground and he returned to his normal fgone.
The giant ki aura he had spiked around him while rushing forward was gone, but it had been noticed. Psimon was certain someone was searching for him, and not the book he was sealed inside. Fearful that the witch who protected him had comprised his location; Psimon took the ki bursts as a warning. The Demon finalized his plan to posess a human body, and it had all gone mostly according to plan.
The Katchin Cook Off was meant to be where the Demon collected ki from victims, but with Hapu brazenly charging the streets Psimon had no choice but to use the only servant it had.
Instructing Zelda that it had new plans and t I change the recipe she was working in, Psimon would enter her body soon. The Demon hoped sooner than Hapu would find Zelda, but the potion was still brewing while Hapu was running up the sky scraper.
It was midday in the city, and there wasn't a cloud in sight. The Namekians scales were glowing beautifully in the sun, and he was huffing and puffing while regaining his vigor from the exhilarating dash through Orange City.
As his chest expanded his inhuman Physiology was very noticeable, and his diaphragms inability to expand was odd. The Namekian seemed to breathe by undulating his scales, and his very still posture seemed to be correlated. The scales wiggled back and forth faster than usual giving Hapu a sort of distortion in the sunlight. With all of his skin breathing it didn't take long to regain his composure.
Hapu eventually caught his breathe, and focused once again on finding his enemy. Whi. Closing his eyes he used his third eye to find this ki signature once again. It didn't take nearly as long to trace the now familiar ki signature. The pink glow stood out better than ever since he was so close, and Hapu honed in on the location of his target.
After flying off in search of her, Hapu was eventually flying over a local culinary competition. This contest was the Katchin Cook off, and as Hapu eaves dropped in the sky looking for his target the Namekian took notes of what was going on. He figured his enemy would be somewhere different,, but it seemed she was a part of this community cooking competition.
Hapu was out of ear shot for most conversation but he had the gist of what the event was. Figuring the girl to be a witch amongst hidden alchemists, the Dragon Shaman deduced she had some kind of public execution plan.. he didn't care about that,, and wasnt there to save anyone.
Fortunately the potion Psimon had used Zelda to make, which would seal their souls inside of an arcane orb for a Demon feast of ki,was converted into a new potion. As Hapu floated the witch was casting her incantation, then drank the poison. Suddenly the book lit up pink, and the light flashed into Zelda the Witch.
Meanwhile Hapu was searching for her.. there were lots of cooks scheduled to show off their skills from the sounds of it, but Hapu did not care at all. Not to mention he was currently fasting; Hapu was strictly carnivorous for one, and for two the Namekian wasn't taken hold of by typical society functions. In fact Hapu found the whole ordeal to be a grand display of the facade society attached itself to in an attempt to garner forgiveness for cultural defamation of individuality.
He tried not to pay it no mind though. The rosy pink target of Hapu's search easily distinguishable amidst the people at the event, and the Dragon Shaman stalked his prey from the clouds above as the pink flash went undetetctedip. The Namekian knew he was close, and mentally prepared himself. Unsure of what kind of threat this woman might pose in a public setting Hapu prepared for the worst.
Figuring her to be some kind of witch or mystic, he knew the oracular powers most witches used in the Eastlands. His plan was to close her throat and take a hostage, but the battle was unknowable. Not to mention that pink flash was the Demon possessing Zelda. Hapu didn't know however, and the process was only partial.
While Hapu was real close Zelda was struggling to adjust as Psimon was fighting her consciousness for control of her body. Eventually the Demon won, but was so disoriented they wouldn't have a chance against a power house like Hapu.
After floating just over the cart where this ki was being emitted from, Hapu suddenly clenched his fists and the Namekian was roaring with might. Ki was shooting everywhere, green streaks of powerful energy that wrapped around Hapu like cloth as he charged with rage Rushing forward with his arms and tail at the ready to subdue his enemy, Hapu struck from above. Quickly he landed on the ground and darted forward once again to take the woman hostage.
Arriving to a stall where the young woman was looming over a lamb curry, Hapu didn't hesitate by introducing himself. The Namekian used telepathic force to bust down her counter with a bang and then charged forward. His hands grabbed her by the neck, and she was easily overpowered.
Psimon was still struggling to orientated itself inside Zeldas body, so Hapu could easily pin the young lady against the ground.
Psimon was in fear of its life, and hid inside the depths of Zeldas mind.. she was given control back,, but was amnesiacover the demons recent control of her bod . She had no clue what was going on and with Haou at her throats thewitch began reciting a curse.
In a split second Hapu stopped her with a quick squeeze. Crushing her voice box Hapu rendered the woman a mute and the terror driven curse was stopped. Meanwhile Psimon watched from the dark recesses of Zeldas mind.
The Namekian continued his abduction and wrestled with the struggling woman. After flexing his strength the Namekian turned her around on the ground; then he grabbed the woman with his venom barbed tail.
Now standing inside the demolished stall he was quite large, and pressed against the short ceiling as he stood up. The counter she was serving food at was entirely smashed in the confkist and the people who were waiting kn being served were knocked out by Hapus tail as he crashed into the structure.
The Dragon Shaman paid any of it no mind, and continued to ensnare the weakened girl with his tail. The spiny reptillian tail curled around her thigh, and up toward her neck with the razor sharp scale at her flesh. The venom shined in the sunlight, and Hapu hissed menacingly. The mute witch didn't move at all, she seemed to know her life was at risk.
The witch was in fact so small Hapus entire tail was choking her abdomen, and the venomous barbs were closely pressed to her flesh in more than just a few places. The gritty reptile scales were burning at her flesh, but the discomfort wasn't negotiable by her broken voice box.
One wrong move and Hapu would kill her. She couldnt speak, and she couldnt move. Satisfied with her subdued Hapu dragged her into the street so he could take off and fly the so called cook off and away to be interrogated.
Meanwhile Psimon was plotting, hoping to remain hidden. The Demon watched Hapu from Zeldas eyes, and waited for weakness. As time was passing on his familiarity with Zeldas body became more surreal, and it was only a matter of time. While the lethal tail of a Dragon Shaman dragged Psimons host body in the air, the evil Demon was preparing a dastardly plot to steal Hapu's body.
Flying out of the stall Hapu brought his kidnap victim to a very nearby rooftop. Flying not too far from the scene of his crime in case he needed to go back for some reason, Hapu wasn't worried about anyone following him or even any police retaliation. They would need an army to stop the ferocity of Earth's Dragon Shaman, and Hapu was well aware of the forces he mustered as a warrior.
Those same forces that Psimkn was preying upon. Unfortunately for Hapu Zelda had been searching for a Dragon Shard in Orange City, that belonged to a Namekian. Psimon knew there was a connection and led his disciple in that direction. This was not the demons plan, but Psimon expected the results would be in his best interest.
While Psimon rested and prepared inside of Zeldas mind she was very clearly shell shocked. The dark magics Psimon had used on her were casting dark mind control overbher and she was like a scared kitten in the deadly tail of Hapu. As well like most witches of the Eastlands Covens this girl seemed only capable of vocal spell casting so the Shaman wasn't worried about her unspoken threats either.
Still gripping her with his tail Hapu and her were both sitting on the rooftop. He was however curious what sort of human alchemy might require a Dragonic Magic such as a shard. Hapu still knew nothing of Psimon, and the Demon relished that.
Hapu would stop at nothing to find out why this girls thoughts were preying upon his peoples work. The Shaman knew something was up, but he had to be sure it wasn't something that he could take advantage of before killing Zelda.
While Hapu thought about it his brow seemed extra sharp, probably from the stress of figuring where to dump the body.
The woman's back was turned to Hapu, and his back was to her own while he thought how he would move next. They both just sat there in silent thought. Usually Hapu would torture and interrogate a prisoner like this witch, but she couldnt talk as she was. After careful deliberation Hapu decided he needed her information on the Dragonic Magics afoot in Orange City, so he decided to heal her throat in exchange for information.
Despite being evil and terrorizing Hapu was first.introduced to magic through Guru teachings as a youth. He was quite skilled as a healer, and though he lost a lot of that skill his talent was still there. Personally it wasn't a magic he favored, but for the people of Namek Hapu would stop at nothing.
Tail still wrapped around the woman, Hapu was now turnes around and kneeling down at the girls eye level. She was very short, and on one knee Haou could put his gaze unto her own. Despite being tied up by his tail the girl was sort of crumpled up in a pile, and Hapu's barbed tail was still dangerously close to her skin. The sharp spikes were glistening with venomous oil, and Hapu noticed it odd she was so lax.
That was his first clue that Psimon was there, but he was no detective. The Shaman pushed it from his mind, and lit some magical lights around his horns. These lights looked like bells, and hung wisely from the tri horns atop his green skull. Hapu was trying to look safer for Zelda to talk to; but the ring leader Psimon didn't care. The Demon was preparing to eject himself soon from Zeldas mouth, and steal Halus body.
The Namekian had no idea still and leaned over further. Growling softly the Shaman told her quietly, "I'm going to give you your voice back inexchange for answers. One magic word in any tongue, and my tail will cut your throat wide open atop this roof." Hapu's voice was hoarse as he spoke. Usually he had a sort of bark for a voice, but the typical roar being hushed made for a strange sort of smokers rasp. Still menacing regardless, he hissed at the girl as he squeezed tighter still with his tail and she listened.
Zelda the Witch nodded, and Psimon put his plan to jump ship off for the moment. The Demon expected once healed it would be able to control Zelda better, so that became its new plan. Psimon began pulling Zeldas strings for complacency so it could steal Hapu's body more easily.
Hapu stood back up and his palms were placed together in a prayer symbol. Despite his evil path in life, Hapu was actually a healing Shaman by trade so he appeared very comfortable. Light green ki began to collect in his hands, and then his tail jerked the girl up to his eye level.
Reaching out with his clack tipped claws Hapu grabbed her throat once more, but this time he healed her with a gentle caress. His light handedness was eery considering his appearance, and the invigorating rejuvenation the demon felt in her throat was just as out of place from the monstrous Namekians chaotic swagger as a healer.
The Demon could feel its power level rising, and remained passive as Haous supposed kidnap victim.
The crushed musculature of Zeldas throat was reformed and she could speak again. Hapu released her by his hand, but his tail squeezed tighter in case she lashed kjt. The multiple spines pressed harder to her flesh, and more venom was dripping from the hollow points. One wrong move and she was dead, but Psimon wouldn't let such a thing happen.
The Demon twisted more strings inside her brain and gave Zelda full control of herself. Like a sheep she followed Psimons prompts, unaware of anything and completely out of her mind.
The girl was now softly crying for the first time since she since she was captured, her damaged voice screeching as she sobbed. Now as she was crying the girl seemed particularly hurt, but the soft whimpers were normal. She had a soft and sweet voice, and Hapu noticed her aura now. The flashy pink all over her body as she cried on the rooftop seemed very familiar.
The enemy was secured now for certain so Hapu rested his mind on finding her.
When he had siezed her from the cook off he hadn't thought about her aura at all, but standing on the rooftop put her in a new light. Or perhaps it was the crying. Either way he squeezed tighter in case she was trying something. Psimon kept watching, entertained like a movie goer for the after noon matin.
Watching a girl cry was not a thrill but Hapu didn't believe in sympathy, and he squeezed her tighter with his tail to grab her attention literally. Suddenly Psimon wasn't so entertained and the Demon was watching real close what Hapu was going to do. The Demon was fearful of attack in the weak vessel of Zelda, and burrowed deep into he run concious mind.
The posessed girl started screaming in pain as her consciousness awoke confusedly during the constriction, then suddenly the razor spine of Hapus tail was pressed against her throat. If the girl moved at all she was dead, but we was smart enough to keep silent.
"No sounds. Answer me, and no more." Hapu had no intentions of letting her go, but his misguidedly soft demeanor hinted she might live past the rooftop.
Of course there were no such plans but Hapu didn't mind the notion popping up in her mind if it meant she would be cooperative. The girl was nodding quietly, and Hapu haplessly released some pressure along the edge of his tails razor sharp edge.
No longer watching Psimon was gathering its strength, fearful of Hapu as a captor it planned on running away as soon as it could
As he thought of her mind, Hapu decided he might as well begin the interrogation. Lights around his horns lit up, and Hapu entered a sort of trance nearbinstantly. Probing the girls mind for simple emotive responses to his questions, the interrogation begun.
The girl was suspended in the air, tightly bound by the scaley tail of Hapu. She stayed quiet, and fear was stained upon her eyes. Hapu had put true terror in her heart.
While meditating Hapu's voice completely changed. Usually the Dragon Shaman spoke in a monstrous normal sound level scream. In fact the Namekians usual tone of voice was a scream, but when he meditated the ki flow within his body harmonized his vocal chords. Now Hapu spoke a resounding whisper, with no bravado in his voice at all. He sounded like a snake hissing behind a harp scale being played over and over again.
"Now tell me what your name is." Hapu executed his commands without hesitation, and held both of his hands at his chest in a prayer gesture. The girl replied in a soft whisper, and Hapu was able to determine she was not lying.
Zelda as she was known, was instructed to introduce herself formally. She did so softly, and meekly. Hapu was pleased to find her complacent to his will, and honest. Zelda the vampire witch was curious indeed, but Hapu had yet to determine how curious she was.
Furthering his interrogation Hapu tightened his tails grip around Zeldas ankle, and she whimpered. The venomous barbs was poised at her calf, and the fear in her heart was palpable to Hapu in his meditative state. Tempted to feed off her ki, Hapu decided against it. She seemed to respect him, and he liked that fact.
"Zelda, tell me what Magics you know of related to the Dragonic Ancestry of my people." Despite the soft hissing of his altered voice, the poison in Hapus tone was clear.
Zelda siezed up, and started choking. Hapu's tell reached further up her leg, the Shaman was prepared to kill her. She didn't attack him however, and Hapus sixth sense was configuring itself around a strangely bright disruption within her ki. The more she tried to talk, the more she started choking.
Psimon was hiding deep inside her, avoiding Hapu as the Shaman searched her mind. Fortunately when the Namekian asked for that which Psimon had cursed, the Demon was given a chance to flee. In the commotion it flew from Zeldas body. Haou didn't even notice and neither did Zelda. The girls mind was entirely blank, and it wouldn't be long until she died. Psimons curse would cost her her life, and the Demon would live to return.
Hapu let her choke for at least a minute as he perceived the obstruction in Zeldas ki flow, the only clue of Psimons presence before fleeing. It seemed some sort of curse mark had been placed on her, and activated too; but the Shaman couldn't decipher what witchcraft the cursed seal came from.
Halu was still unaware of all that Psimon had done against his people. Despite his prodigal status Hapu wasn't familiar with Demon magic. In fact he detested it.
Eventually while Zelda choked and Hapu watched the strange ki pattwrn he had seen enough to know it was not witchcraft, but a Demonic sigil. Unwilling to further inspect the curse, he released his trance. Psimon wasngone, but the mission wasn't over for Hapu.
Holding his hand up he instructed Zelda to stop, and as she stopped trying to talk about Dragon Magic she ceased to choke. The curse was still there, and the time clock begun to tick. Soon Zelda would die, but Haou carried on anyways.
Suddenly Zelda fainted, and Hapu was left with his unconscious prisoner. Still binding her ankles with his tail he wasn't sure what next, and feared any unusual Demon magic might obstruct him further
Worst of all Hapu expected this demonic sigil was a prelude to the Demons summoning who Zelda had a pact with. While he wasn't a professional, Hapu did know how sigil worked. Having Zelda force a sacrifice within her for the Demon by speaking wrongly wasn't in his wishes, so Hapu deduced he would have to investigate this further.
With his two hands together Hapu placed Zelda inside of the Heavenly Gates, a Dragon Shaman magic that acted as a one man portable prison. While she was asleep Hapu decided to investigate the remains of the cook off where he found Zelda. If he was lucky there would be some signs as to which Demon enthralled the vampire Zelda.
Not that it would matter since Zelda died an hour after Haou left her.
While he flew vack to the cook off Hapucthought to himself about the one behind Zeldas unusual behavior. Whoever this Demon was, they surely had strong ties to the Demon Namekians of Piccolo to know about Dragon Magic, and Hapu knew that meant someone was plotting to use the Dragon Shards to misappropriate the ancient Namekian Magics that created the sole miracle of this universe.
Someone was picking of the foolish Daimao's mantle for a new world order, and Hapu had his own plans. Getting so close by chance was a blessing though, and his spirits were high as he flew. Unfortunately Psimons spirit was long gone from Orange City by then.
Inside of the red pouch he kept in his pocket Halu had a collection of rune stones. By holding one inside of his mouth he was able to turn his body like a chameleons and slip through crowd. No one saw the large Namekian float just over head and past the various stalls where people were showing off their cooking skills. Hapu paid no mind to the variousflames and ovens beeping, instead focusing his third eye on find any sign of the Demon who enthralled Zelda.
Typically demons sought out vampires for their connection to the energy inside of blood, so Hapu figured this demon was likely siphoning some kind of energy Zelda cultivated for her witch craft. Whatever the Demon planned Hapu knew it didn't plan on drawing from Zeldas meager power, and he figured the witch vampire's cooking was somehow related. Hapu couldn't tell if the woman was totally enthralled by the Demon, but it was certainly strong enough to posess a part of her soul. No other devices could curse someone's own ki against them.
While Hapu considered it all he searched diligently, growing ever more wary with each realization of the scene at hand. It didn't take long for him to find the rubble where he had mowed down the stall where Zeldawas working, but unfortunately it had been mostly cleaned up. Still unseeable Hapu poked around the rubble and didn't find anything. It seemed the officials had removed all of her belongings, and for Hapu to find anything he would need to somehow search their own storage. Of corse he would have to find one first, but he had a plan for that. With the invisibility rune in his mouth he flew around the rubble until he found a worker.
Hustling quietly Haou was standing right in front of the man. They had no idea where the humming came from, but suddenly they were unconscious. Using strong psychic powers Hapu invaded their mind and behind searching for clues to what they had found in Zeldas rubble. A long five minutes wet by and Hapu found what he was searching for, so he removed his consciousness from the man's and left him unconscious in the cook off. People started making a scene, and someone even missed the flip of a pancake; but Hapu flew onward toward his goal.
According to the visions he had while exploring Zeldas mind there was a strange leather book to be found under Zeldas counter where she cooked. He wasn't sure what the book contained but Hapu was confident this would be a solid lead to follow. The storage room was in the outside arena where the cook off was held, so after flying up some stairs Hapu was prowling through the Katchin Cook Offs apprehended items. There wasn't too many notable items, so Hapu recklessly threw the stuff around while he searched for Zeldas book of witch craft and Alchemy. Once everything had been thrown around twice Hapu found the book he was looking and without leaving the room he prepared to open it.
Before turning the hard cover front of the book Hapu pulled another rune from the pouch in his pocket. This one was a protection rune to keep Demons from possessing him, and Hapu prepared to read from the books common language texts. Like many books Hapu had browsed this one felt like some kind of human leather made each page, and immediately Hapu smelled the scent of rotten human blood mixed in ink. He nearly wretched but kept flipping the pages with a grimace taped on his face. When he found what he was looking for it was clear by the large sigil printed on both pages of the fold out. It was the same sigil cursed upon Zeldas ki, but the book had it titled this time. Read underneath of the ten pointed star was the name Psimon.
Hapu knew not who the Demon was, but didn't read further. Fearing a trap in the cursed blood text he quickly shut the book and flew off with both runes still hidden in his mouth. Focused on the new information of Psimon in his arms, Hapu fled the scene with Zeldas spellbound book of witch craft securely held to his scaley chest.
While flying away in his invisibility cloak the people unknowingly continued their judging and taste testing without fear of the Demon trapped inside the tome Zelda had brought to the Katchin Cook off. The Shaman Namekian was unable to eavesdrop on who won the final round as he zoomed over top heads, but he didn't care either. Whatever knowledge Psimon sought would be absolutely fitting on his plate to digest; so Hapu kept his mind on the prize when he was flying back to where Zelda was imprisoned.
Extracting demons was beyond Hapu's ability, but having Zelda read from the book would be safe enough that he could alter the magic tied to the tome. If he was lucky Hapu would be able to clear Zeldas curse of Psimon and learn what the Demon was using her for; and why the call for Dragon Magic was involved.
Of course Psimon ha dalready killed Zelda, and fled using a part of her soul as his new body. When Hap undiscovered this he was out right furious, and burned the remains of Zelda atop the roof where he had not so long ago healed her throat.
Feeling unsuccessful Hapu decided to stay in Orange City for a while longer and investigate Psimon, but the Demon was a step ahead of the Shaman. Somewhere Psimon was consuming a new body and growing in strength. Before long the Demon would be back for Hapu.
Stay tuned!

He didn't find any,
With recklessness violence against his mysterious enemy on his mind; Hapu landed directly in the middle of the street without looking both ways.
Stay tuned!
