Ahhhhh! Now this was a nice place to be at! A Beautiful Blue sky and a yellow sun! No more of that cold weather or those dangerous cities, and no more fighting crazy people with magical powers or having to deal with weird things! He just about had it with crazy stuff happening. How did he go from just talking to a nice woman to having fought some crazy ice guy in a blizzard and then having his lips pecked by some imposter red head! Especially the fact that imposter did it in front of the original too. Bleh. Thinking about it made him shake from disgust. He and that stereotypical fantasy character showed them what for! It was, hopefully, one less criminal off the streets. The bad thing was, however, was that there was a good chance they were back on the streets duping people and stealing wallets. That city didn't have a good track record with repeated offenses. The thought of it made his blood boil just a bit. However, what could he really do? He couldn't change the city or how the government worked. Let alone change how people behaved. One sole consolation in that depressing thought process was knowing he was out of that crime filled city now. Nice to be outside with nothing to annoy, infuriate, or get him wanting to daydream out of sheer boredom. Just a nice, relaxing, sunny day down in the south! Wait... south? Where was he again?
Roderick focused back into reality, having daydreamed once again. He saw he was now in a grassy field with tall grass. Conveniently remote from any nearby towns. He pulled out his phone, blocking the checked his map to see where he was. Typing in to search where he was, his eyes widened in shock once he saw he was actually pretty close to entering the southern lands. Crud! Just how far off course had he been walking off?! Taking a moment to take full of the situation, he double-checked his phone wasn't messing with him before finally accepting he had just been walking to the southern lands. Sure, Oolong city was full of crime. But going down south was something else. You told the wrong person something about yourself, and then BAM! You got 15 people on a big flying motorcycle, reading to gun you down! He wiped some sweat off his brow, happy he had managed to catch his mistake before he walked any further South. He just had a feeling he wasn't supposed to be there yet anyway. There was stuff he needed to do! He... couldn't remember what exactly, but he was pretty sure he had stuff to do. Now thinking about it, what was he even doing? He was just walking place to place with no real purpose. Why was he doing this? It began with wanting to do something, wanting to help people by going to Jingle Village. There was getting stronger, but that was really a more side reward than the main one. Why was he walking randomly? He fought ice head when he could've easily stopped fighting from the beginning. Why did he keep fighting? Then there was Oolong City. Why did he even go there? It was common knowledge it was a city for desperate people. Filled with crime and other bad things. So why would he willingly put himself endanger? Was he just stupid? Did he have a death wish? What was he doing this for? He had a goal... but what? What did he want? What was he after? What- Nope! Too much thinking! Shake, shake, shake your head till all the thoughts fall out! Forget, forget, forget!
After enough shaking that could dizzy even level-headed people, he pocketed his phone, pausing once he noticed just how beautiful the grassy plains were. Seeing one in dreams or just in media was one thing. But to actually be standing in one? To feel the flowing grass at your knees? To sense the wind in your hair? That was something else. It was... calming. In a different sense than shoveling was. Here, there was no other sound except crickets, the flowing grass, and the wind in your- "OW!" He quickly began to brush off mosquitos surrounding him to suck his red nectar. Now remembering another reason he had headed up North. He hissed and began to walk forward, hopefully away from those dang mosquitos. He could feel them on his skin and in his ears! Shivering at the thought, he waved his arms around his head and hair to wave them off as he walked forward. God, he hated bugs. If only there was someone else to attract their attention away from himself. But who else would be in the middle of a grassy plain?

Travel in the south was rather annoying for Yasu. He found the people of it rather pushy, especially his newest compatriot Martina Le Pang. He had trouble getting to the South Islands so decided to stop off in the South Lands to learn more about the Pang family. Just by showing off the totem, he received from Lord Hawks though caused burly, suit wearing bodyguards to grab him off and push him through the door of a dingy mansion. He did not understand why until a tiny, dark skinned girl with purple hair acted high and mighty before him in giant throne and then proceed to bow to him upon seeing the totem. She wore a white tube top and brown vest with brown slacks though seemed to act in a haughty manner when she touched a big blue sapphire on her neck whilst stroking it. "I will have you serve me forever sir!” Martina cried. Yasu had no idea what was going on, but he paid her money in exchange for her services, tricking the girl who had no more than a title to her name, and the totem. The girl started to prattle on how he might be an imperial Rou some type of lineage that ruled over the east desert two hundred years ago. The Pang family acted as their royal retainers, no leaders, and it sure fit in with Yoi's version of the people that lived there. Yasu telephoned his sister from Martina's mansion then proceeded to leave. Anyway, long story short Yoi, the so-called guardian fox of the east, sped over to the south temporarily and found him outside the place. She was able to do so because she ended up riding up on a large ostrich with saddle on its back. "Hi, you called?" she asked. She then suddenly slumped over in the seat as though she were ill. It happened a lot when she left the desert as though something there was trying to drag her back. "Yes," Yasu answered bluntly, as he hopped up on the ostrich and looked down at Martina who followed him out. "Where are you going Sir Rou?" Martina asked bright eyed. "Home and you would be wise to follow on foot." Yasu told her. "I have to figure out this Rou family stuff and you have some of my answers. "Rou... have not heard that name in a while..." Yoi moaned as she jumped on Yasu's back and clung to him. The ostrich's legs bent from the weight and Yoi shouted, "Come on Shaozi, I am not a ton of bricks!" "Let's go Shaozi!" Yasu ordered learning the bird's new name. He let Yoi raise the chick while he was away. The bird pushed itself into high gear and carried both passengers with it barely. Meanwhile, Martina gasped. She saw her finally found lord, no servant, running off, as though he was a bandit, although, there really was not much finding to be involved. The rich made the poor come to them then the poor scoffed at them just like this. Martina used her magic training to summon a flying carpet, skills all her kin should have had, but found even with this Shaozi was making her eat his dust. The speed of her vehicle was no better than her trying to run on foot. The lithe woman's magic quipped out on her and she found herself having to huff and puff after a supersonic bird on foot. "This is going to break my legs!" she howled, "Where are my servants!" They all remained at Martina's home to keep an eye on it and go on their first coffee break in six weeks. Martina, the rest of the Rou family members, and anyone else that served them that still lived had the same issue as Yasu. Someone was going to murder them due to a curse they got the moment they agreed to help the Rou family; in Martina's case, it was a swordsman. This made it a stressful job. This is also, why Ms. Pang used two female servants as bodyguards and pillows in her own bed. The problem was they did not care to come with her this time because Yasu just felt too strong compared to them. They felt they would be useless helping the sluggish princess even in this situation. It just so happened that the attention Roderick wished for would come his way. The whole entourage stopped as Yasu spotted him from a distance with his sensing technique. He dropped off Shaozi and approached the person just as he waved his arms around wildly in the air. Something was up yet this young man was in the way. He glared at him and confidently stated, “Would you mind moving you weirdo. You are in my way and I am traveling here.” He clenched his fists and showed he was meaner in business terms than he appeared. He would not end up caught unprepared in a fight as Chiu and he had when they fought the toad monster Gabu in the North Lands. Unfortunately, Yasu was short and not all that strong looking in spite of training his strength. He mused that this person might pound him into the dirt with his better-formed figure. This could be a ploy to have him approach and allow his new troublesome foe to beat the scrawny mage. He wore plain clothes so maybe Yasu was getting this wrong though. Meanwhile, Martina ran to Yasu and panted as she finally caught the group when it abruptly stopped. There was trouble ahead and Yasu was hell bent on fighting it if he had to do so. Roderick kept waving his arms around himself to get rid of the mosquitos surrounding him. "Oh my god! So annoying!" He began to lightly jog to try and get away from the swarm. The swarm then stopped harassing him. He thought it was because of his wailing and bravely running away that did it. Letting a smile grow on his face, he was about to let out a happy sigh when he heard a voice from behind him. He turned to looked over to the source of the voice and saw, the rather rude, boy calling out to him to move. Confused, he turned to look behind the new person and saw the two living beings in the distance. He could only assume they were with them. Yasu was able to now see... well... it wasn't his face, but he was able to see that this roadblock was tan in skin color. They also were wearing a blue sleeved shirt along with some blue shorts. A mask, a blue hat that hid his hair, and what could barely be seen out to be sunglasses. Whether this was to keep him cool or his identity unknown was not clear. "Hey, uh, chill. I was just being swarmed by some mosquitos, and I really wasn't able to check my surroundings. You couldn't just go around me while I was being drained of my blood?" He asked, not being happy at the tone this random was giving him, He tried to raise a single eyebrow but instead raising two. He couldn't raise only one. Unable to realize how dumb he looked trying to raise one eyebrow. He was lucky that he was wearing sunglasses to hide his face. Maybe he had been a little rude, they were just trying to get to... wherever they were going to. They didn't have to be so rude about it, though. They could've just kindly asked him to move, but no. Furthermore, they said it in a rude manner! Like it was an order rather than a request. Plus, they even called him a weirdo! While it wasn't untrue, it still was rude! It wasn't after that whole debate in his head that he noticed the clenched fist of the rude boy in front of him that he really started to reconsider his choice of words. Oh crud, he just did it now. He was just thinking about how dangerous it was down in the Southlands and the first thing he does is make some random person he ran into possibly angry? Man, he wasn't that bright. But they couldn't be too dangerous, right? If their choice of ride was to say anything, they couldn't be rich. At worst, they maybe had a gun.... they possibly had a gun, and he probably just made them angry. Oh, dear. He should've just been kind. Slowly, regret began to set in, but he didn't allow it to show on his face or his body language. He wouldn't want to show this guy in front of him that he was nervous or worried. That might just give him incentive to keep being rude. He felt a little grateful that he was wearing the mask, so the rude boy wouldn't be able to tell how he was feeling by his facial expressions. And there's his height again, another one taller than him! He knew he wasn't exactly the tallest, but really? This just made him feel short! He had to look up to even properly talk to them! Glancing at his own shoes, he pondered if he should get some shoes that make him look just a bit taller. Maybe nobody would even notice! He could place rocks in his shoes to make himself look taller and nobody would be the wiser about it! Just an inch or two taller wouldn't raise any suspicions. Oh, wait, he just remembered he most likely angered someone. Focusing back into reality, he focused his eyes at the taller boy in front of him. Also, probably angry at his comment too. Roderick tensed up just a bit, but hopefully not noticeably, so he wouldn't be able to tell how he really felt. Just in case this guy tried to pull out a gun on him, he would go for a grapple to wrestle the weapon from his hands. Still in the dark about the true capabilities of this stranger. Was he about to enter a life or death scenario with someone? It wouldn't be like that spar with Toshiro. This guy, from just his first words with him, didn't seem like the nice type to hold back. He seemed impatient and needed to get to places. Hopefully, he could just leave without a fight ensuing or worse, having a few more holes leaving than he came in with. Yasu noted the young man's tan skin covered by layers of blue clothes. He had so much blue it made Yasu's jaw drop at the poor color coordination. The blue hat, shirt, and shorts screamed of farmer sensibilities yet his words acclaimed him of some intellect. Yasu crossed his arms and said, "I would love to step around you, but I have a small child and a woman with me. Their expedient, comfortable ride to our destination is my mission." He was not about to tell the traveler the woman, Martina, had been traveling on foot the entire time, but when he gazed back at her for a moment he saw she had called on a large red flying carpet for herself and just gotten on it. "Both cannot travel on foot for long, so I need you to move. Yasu glared down at him as Roderick as the young man examined him. He did not see him tense up, but felt a stubborn one such as he would deny his wish. Travelers who appeared as rough as him often did. "Yoi, my sword and equipment please. I may have to hurt someone so please stay back." Yasu announced. He raised his right hand and Yoi's adorable ears perked up. She rummaged through a small satchel on Shaozi's side and threw him the blade. Yasu caught it and proceeded to draw it above his head. "I shall slice you down you ham. For the Rou!" he cried brandishing his blade in front of him. He would wrap both hands around the hilt. Martina then hovered over to his side and stepped off the carpet. She wanted to fight too. Roderick well feel as though he were facing a mountain as Yasu's power gushed forth. The magician felt no need to murder him yet would beat him all the same. -- Natural Power Level: 3562 Word Count: 309/1257 Tags: Roderick Note: I shall roll for my Initiative but need to double check what I can bring. -- Initiative Check- nZwzvUKE1d100-- Yasu 45/45 HP, 115/115 Ki, 70 Defense, DR 1, Critical Strike 92-100 Accuracy Roll Martina 20/20 HP, +40 Accuracy "All Attack" Types STATS {Spoiler} Fighting: 10 Energy Control: 20 Reflexes: 15 Resilience: 10 {Spoiler}Defense: 50 + 15 (REFLEX MOD) + 5 (EQUIPMENT MOD) HP: 50 + 10 (RES. Roderick didn't have the best fashion sense, to say the least. He just wore what he liked and since he liked blue, he wore a lot of blue. Maybe he would one day have to work on that. Having a bit of fashion sense may help in making good impressions because, at the moment, he wasn't making a very good one with Yasu. Speaking of which, just this rando's impression gave him a feeling that they were probably used to feeling important... maybe??? Maybe just used to getting what they wanted? Or was it just that they looked to be dripping with wealth while he looked like he could use a Zeni or two. He listened to what he had to say and then felt a pang of guilt at the mention of him just trying to give two people a comfortable ride. Plus, from the sound of things, it seemed like they had been walking on foot for a while before this. He considered just moving, but the tone and choice of words this random was giving him was beginning to infuriate him. Leading him to cross his arms. Yasu correct in the assumption of him being a stubborn one. "I will once you stop being so passive-aggressive and show me some decency first." Couldn't he just be kind and calm to the possibly armed individual infront of him? He had no idea what they were capable of or willing to do. This all could be a lie, though! What if he was kidnapping them or something! He could be saving them! This thought was quickly thrown out the window once he heard the rando call out for someone named Yoi to fetch their sword and equipment, so they could hurt them... "Wait, what?" What Yasu said only sunk in after the toss of the blade to said Rando. Roderick's eyes were wide in shock at the sight of the blade. Well... he knew he wouldn't leave here like swiss cheese. However, he might now leave here like cheddar cheese instead. He subtly moved his feet in a stance of a martial art he could barely remember. Hoping that he didn't recognize the way his feet were positioned. He wasn't sure what some martial arts could do against an armed opponent, but he was about to find out! "The what?!" He asked in confusion at who or what this "Rou" was. Was it some type of organization? He knew it had to be important to the easily angered person in front of him if they were willing to shout it out while brandishing a blade with the intent of hurting him. Could it be a military group that one woman was a part of? Was it some person they gave devotion to? He didn't know, and had a feeling it wouldn't matter in the fight. He was still going to be cut up all the same if he didn't take the initiative now. If he didn't, he would leave here with more slashing scars than round ones. Now, he was used to 1 on 1 fights. No outsiders coming in and helping gang on someone else. Sure, he may have been ganged up on while he was younger, but he just had more experience in "fair" fights. Which was why he was shocked and worried when he saw the girl from behind Yasu come to his side in order to, presumably, aid him in the possible fight to come. So he had to contend with the fact of not only facing an armed opponent, but one who knew fricking magic!?!? What else? They would pull a gundum out of a bag? Now, any sane person would've learned their lesson from their spar with a certain icicle of a fighter. Feel that the odds were stacked against them. Maybe try to deescalate the situation and not get jumped by some guy with a sword along with some chick with a flying carpet. Not Roderick though! "Hey," He stated in a bit of shock, trying to sound stern and commanding. Even if his heart was pounding in fear at the sight of a blade with the prospect of being ganged up on, "Don't call me ham you undercooked slab of meat!" Dang it! He wished he used some more... sophisticated words than that like... uh... like under baked or even slab of pork! That may have sounded even more cool or insulting! He was more concerned about how he should've worded that insult than the present matter of being in ribbons by the end of this. Roderick felt the air grow heavy for some reason. The feeling of facing someone much stronger than him. He wasn't sure what this meant or why it happened. Whether it was because of the unknown force that was ki to him or just his instincts telling him he was screwed, he knew he just messed with the wrong people today. Roderick, having a sudden feeling that things were about to tale a turn for the worse, felt himself tense up even more. He could tell that they were already prepared to attack him. Oh, he just could tell? It's not like they had a sword pointed at him or anything. What a fricking idiot. Roderick's senses felt heightened as had a strong inclination to prepare himself mentally, and his body, just in case things got dicey. He subtly dug his feet in the ground, so he could know he had good footing. In case, he had to back off or attack. Feeling an inclination to attack first since he didn't have a weapon, and they did. Well, the guy did. The other girl, he didn't know what she could do. He could only assume it had something to do with magic. What kind he wasn't even sure of. How could he even fight magic? At least with Toshiro, he could guess what type of powers he was going to deal with. This girl on the other hand was a mystery. Maybe something to do with telekinesis? Gravity manipulation? Fortune-telling? This could all be a trick and that carpet could be just advanced technology. Whatever the case, he decided he would be attacking her first if they were going to come to blows. She was a wild card. He didn't know how to fight magic. For all he knew, she could just lock him in place while samurai over here slices him up like bamboo. He surprised himself at how nonchalant he was about someone using magic. Shouldn't he be asking how that works and how she knows magic? Saying that magic isn't real? Probably. However, he was more focused on the possibility of being hurt than trying to question behind the workings of how he was being hurt. Especially with someone as foreign to him as magic. Maybe not too foreign, though. He felt like he has seen magic. He just couldn't remember where... Roderick then began the preparations of how to attack. He turned his foot subtly, once again, towards magic girl to have a direct line to her if they gave him just one more reason to attack. It was better to attack first in this situation than be attacked first by a slashing object. The humor of him not learning his lesson wasn't lost on him, though. He would at least try one last time to cool the situation before the standoff turned into a brawl. "Listen, this doesn't seem to be in my favor. We don't have to beat each other up because you were too stubborn and prideful to just go around me. Sure, it may have, what, added a minute or two to your trip? But it's better than fighting some stranger in the middle of nowhere. Now please, I ask you, just put away the weapon, get on your little carpet and animal over there, and leave me alone." GOD, HE COULDN'T JUST HOLD THE ANGER IN HIM?! The signs of his anger were clear in his tone! Let alone on how he said that. He cursed internally at his rage. Another thing he had to work on. Control your anger. Also try to be more diplomatic. He could tell he that he wasn't doing a very good job of convincing them to not slice him into ribbons. He may have just given them an incentive to at this point. Not only that, he also probably just made himself look weak. He was just the master of getting himself into horrible and unwinnable situations, wasn't he? Taking one last precaution before things became official, he took a deep breath in before exhaling out. He dared not to close his eyes this time. Their presence and possibility of them suddenly attacking was too great. He let the muscles in his body relax, letting the stress and tense in his body leave. He felt his body become more malleable. More fluid. He couldn't help but just let out a sigh of relief at the peaceful feeling of just letting go of everything. The strain of the situation, only becoming apparent once he felt the difference in his relaxed body to his tense one from before. The blood pumping in his heart became slightly quieter, allowing the sound of the knee-high grass to finally come clear to him. His thoughts became more focused on the situation, instead of daydreaming or quibbling on things that weren't important. He uncrossed his arms and laid them to his side. He didn't want to give it away just yet about the fact he was preparing to fight them. Even if they made it known they were going to. He narrowed his gaze to the magic girl next to the random. If things came down to it, she would be the one he would go for first. It was fair to have a 2 on 1. ("800 words maximum for rewards. 3,200 words in total.") Yasu felt fully prepped to fight but as he brandished the sword given to him by Yoi, he felt sluggish. He felt the tan, young man's eyes were on Martina as she stepped off her carpet with the smallest of grandeurs. The carpet disappeared after this and Martina produced to wands. from thin air for the battle. She held them firmly in her hands to defend herself with. Both expected an attack but instead had to listen to the man say: "Listen, this doesn't seem to be in my favor. We don't have to beat each other up because you were too stubborn and prideful to just go around me. Sure, it may have, what, added a minute or two to your trip? But it's better than fighting some stranger in the middle of nowhere. Now please, I ask you, just put away the weapon, get on your little carpet and animal over there, and leave me alone." He was all chit chat it seemed when it came to battle. It was far too late to stop the fight! He had the intonation of an upset person so he was probably going to defend himself rather than move. Yasu attempted to start and finish the whole thing by inching towards Roderick with his sword pushed out and ready to thrust him he was going to use it as a measuring device for defense too by gauging his foe's reach too. The man appeared to shift from anger though to peace as he breathed in and wasted Yasu's time. He felt the man's power drop and stop coursing into his veins any energy he had disappeared from Yasu's senses. He stopped feeling his fighting force at all! "Yasu... I am scared." Martina told him as she leveled her wands at Roderick. Yasu nodded in agreement but had no clue how to deal with a move such as this. "I-I need to see the future he seems like a ruffian who will wallop me." Yasu answered as his brown eyes glowed blue. He could see movement from Roderick now, but the lines of motion he witnessed seemed to aim for Martina rather clearly. He was not unsung in his actions though and Yasu gripped his head at being unable to view a punch, kick or energy blast from him. He would have to toss himself before Roderick and guard Martina. The energies within Yasu flared. She was going to get hurt on his account! "You won't hurt us!" He screamed at the young man. -- Natural Power Level: 3562 Word Count: 422/1679 Tags: Roderick Note: N/A -- (1 At Will Action Used) (2 Standard, 1 Bonus Action Unused) (1 At Will Action from Martina Unused) (3/4) Arcane Points Remain Yasu casts "Sorcery - Divinate" (+10) Defense next turn. Roderick began to sway side to side, the tension that left his body in turn gave him a feeling of lightness. He felt quicker, more fluid in his movements. He wished he could have this feeling last, but with the two there, he wouldn't be able to enjoy anything but the wallop he was about to dish out. Or endure if things went south... he couldn't help but let a smile grow on his face with the unintentional pun. He heard the two speak to each other. A feeling of pity take root in him as he heard the girl tell the boy she was scared. Roderick was momentarily distracted by this. She was scared. Maybe she didn't want to fight and was just going along with whatever this rando guy was doing. His mind was becoming muddled by the emotion of the girl. He considered changing his stance. Plus, all she had was some wands. Maybe she could cast some dangerous magic, but... the image of some scared looking girl with nothing but some sticks was fooling his emotions. Maybe he shouldn't go for her first. She wasn't the one that was the most dangerous at the moment. He was. He turned his attention to the boy. That rando made him mad. That rando insulted him! That rando also was aiming a sword at him! Why was he trying to go for the gal? These thoughts and questions were racing through his mind, slowly taking him out of his peaceful mind and forcing his body to ever so slightly tense. Not being fully aware of the changes happening to his stance. Hearing the rude fella speak also brought his attention. See the future? That brought an odd sense of déjà vu to him. He felt like he heard that before, but not from any tv show. That felt like it was scratching the back of his brain. Like he was trying to remember a memory that didn't exist. But more importantly... ruffian? Ruffian?? Only barely being able to contain his laughter, he shifted slightly as it looked like he was shivering from the outside. If these people were calling him "Ruffian" then they had NOTHING of value. That or they were incredibly rich. Nobody would use that word to refer to someone like him otherwise. Ah, if they used words like that before pulling a sword out on him, then maybe they could've gotten along. That would've made his holler out in glee. However, he couldn't. Focusing back in to his original thought process... He didn't know what that feeling was about, but he couldn't focus on it now. Right now, he had to focus on who he was going to attack. He felt so sure before, too! All because someone looked scared, he was hesitating! Also, because of that word. Ruffian. He might actually feel bad if he hurt them. Letting out a hiss from under his mask, he shifted his shoes in the dirt. Glad, the grass and the sound from the wind covered any hint of his shifting feet being seen or heard. As he considered, once again, on who to attack, he noticed the boy's eyes glow a strange blue color. Sick! He had met a lot of people wearing the color blue or liked the color blue! He considered it the best color. They definitely would've gotten along if they met in different circumstances. Maybe not, but it was nice to hope. Wait, what did that mean? Was he in a stronger state now? Did he know magic too?? Why and how did he know magic??? Why didn't he look like miss witch over there? Maybe was like an eldritch knight from those TTRPG's he liked to play. Unbeknownst to him, he was unaware what it truly signified. Unable to use his braincells during the fight, he couldn't piece together that he was seeing into the future, even if the magic guy literally just said they were. Speaking of the future, his was... vague at best. It was hard to tell what he would exactly do. Only have a very general idea of what he was going to do. Trying to see his future was like trying to see through fog with your headlights fully on. It just made you more blind the more you tried to look past it. Ugh, maybe he should just go back to the gal. He already had his sights set on her. If he changed now, it would just hinder his attack. He was about to make a move when he heard the rude one scream out at him. "Can you just shut up?!" This convinced him to change his stance at the last moment towards Yasu before he jumped off towards the rude magic boy. Reaching out to foolishly grip and pull the sword and aim a punch to his chest before looking to sweep his legs. And in his attempt to see the future, there was a second where he could see the blur of motions aiming for Yasu. He was going for him now. ("800 words maximum. 4,000 words for rewards.") The opponent Yasu faced seemed to find himself at a crossroads facing young, brown haired mage. Yasu was sure the future told him Martina was under duress, but he changed his mind as easily as one chooses a meal. Yasu's body tensed and a strong but slow grab and punch headed his way at high speed. "Yasu let me help!" the black woman shouted as her wands sparked in her palms. "No, wait!" he told her as he placed both hands on his weapon's hilt and bounded away from Roderick and attempted to get in an oddly angled upward crescent slash with both arms. This slash would aim to cut at the fingers on Roderick's hand that went for Yasu's blade; possibly his face too as he went for Yasu's chest. The boy would bolster his legs with power as he saw push his leg out to trip him with a fine sweep. He felt it hit but in that moment his flesh and bones would be like and absorb the blow. Yasu clenched his teeth but the defensive capability he wanted did not happen. He felt a sharp bruise run through them as he nearly tripped on himself. "He's dangerous..." he told himself. "Just as Gabu was..." He backed another ten feet to get away from the power of this teen and heard his pal yelp, "Watch me vapor, thy light guide me!" A loud "Boom!" rang from the woman's wands as she let loose a beam of lightning from the end her weapons at Roderick's profiled torso. Her aim was as good as she could make it but fighters tended to dodge moves such as this one. Yasu and Roderick were in wild lands after all. Whether the blast hit or not Yasu would drive body forward again and flip the edge so the flat of the blade faced Roderick's stomach as he rammed the smooth surface of it upon his gut. The hit would surge with a frosty chill. Yasu was no swordsman, but a TV show once did the same thing. -- Natural Power Level: 3562 Word Count: 345/2024 Tags: Roderick Note: N/A -- (1 At Will Action) (2 Standard Action Used) (1 Action Unused) (1 At Will Action from Martina Used) (2/4) Arcane Points Remain Yasu Uses 1 "Strike" Martina Uses 1 "At Will Energy Attack" Yasu Uses 1 "Strike" Yasu Uses 1 "Sorcery - Enchant" to cast "FREEZE" on Roderick "Strange Power" Activates next turn to Override Power Level Edge. Roderick felt the blade dig into his skin as he attempted to grip onto the blade. To his credit, he did try to grip it on the blunt side instead of the sharpest side. A moment of regret for not going for the witch first was going to hurt him when he heard said witch yell to help the rude fella named "Yasu" but said "Yasu" refuse the help. Did he want this to be a fair fight? Did this "Yasu" want to beat him on his own? Or was he just waiting for the right time for her to jump in? Whatever he had planned, he was at least grateful he wouldn't have to deal with a two on one right off the bat. Now back to the fight, He felt his first attack miss as the brown haired mage leaped and bounded away from his strike. He felt a gut-wrenching void in his gut as he saw, and felt, his strike hit nothing but the air where the mage used to be. Everything seemed to have slowed down at the preceding events. Time seemingly slowing down for him. Maybe his perception of it? Or his mind going to overdrive to protect him for what came next? Even if it was slow, it would still a blur. He saw this "Yasu" grip onto the hilt of the sword with both hands before swinging it up in a slash motion, right for his fingers. Thanks to this new-found slowing of time, he moved his hand out of the pathway the blade was taking and, whether on purpose or on accident, had his elbow hit the flat side of the blade, so it would be redirected away from his face and miss his beautiful, black, messy hair. Things weren't going to slow down much as right after that, he felt his kick land against the mage's legs. He felt like that was a good hit! Judging by how this boy reacted by clenching his teeth, it must've hurt. He was glad he did at least something. He saw him murmuring something, but he couldn't hear what. Not even being able to read his lips with his shades on. Wait, why didn't he take off his shades before the fight commenced?? He wouldn't have time to feel regret at his stupidity, with time speeding up again as this seemingly magicless boy backed away from him. 'Good, now I have time to-' and before he could finish that thought, he heard a female voice shout out an incantation. His gaze moved over towards the briefly forgotten partner of the rude lad, just in time for him to see the gal aiming something at him. He saw something bright and then the sound before the beam of lightning followed suit. Time slowed once again for him. He was going to reach out his left hand out of instinct when he realized that was the closest to his heart. Classic lightning bending mistake! From his limited knowledge of what part of your body you hope lightning strikes at, he raised his right arm towards the beam to block it with his hand. He didn't have time to dodge, not sure if he even could with how fast that was going. A surge of an intense pain filled his arm. He let out a scream of pain, feeling the lightning go through his limb. He leaned to his left side to have his left arm touch the ground while having his two feet still on the ground. The pain went from his limb to his chest as the pain grew less and less intense while it traveled through his body and finally splitting off down his three limbs and into the earth. Now, he wasn't sure how effective that was in reducing the damage to his heart or body, but he was hoping that at least did something. Time sped up again. Moving back up, he felt a sense of euphoria in his daze. This wasn't meant to last, however, as quickly following that, a chill blade hit his stomach. If he tried this before his journey into the northern lands, this might've worked. But now? This was nothing. Accustomed to the cold from the shoveling with the General and the chilling fight with Shiro, it just felt like an ice cube on his stomach. He did let out a grunt before turning to look over at... he couldn't remember his name, but he looked at the rude boy with an angry feeling. While that didn't really freeze him, it did hurt. The implication of how this seemingly magicless boy's sword was this cold, not even registering in his head. Learning his lesson, he reached out for one of the hands holding onto the hilt of the blade, so he wouldn't be grabbing the blade. Hopefully having a firm grip over the swordsman handle on the hilt, he would attempt to pull the swordsman towards him before aiming to deliver a headbutt to his nose before trying to follow up this by moving his other arm to tightly grip onto one arm. Trying to remember what he saw in the video, he turned his back to him with the swordsman arm over his shoulder and trying to pull him over his shoulder and slamming him into the ground. Hopefully disarming him momentarily, so he could have a break. ("800 words maximum. 4,800 words for rewards.") Yasu thought his assault might be more destructive than first thought, however, his foe only got hurt by only Martina's blast it seemed. Yasu's sword barely touched his opponent's face before pushing away. On top of that, he pushed his right hand out to grip at the lightning and kneeled to the ground to let his left change the current. Also, Yasu did not feel the final sword blow hurt him. The time to run was now as a head butt along with a grab towards his face and sword hilt forced him to blast away with magic using his left and right handed blasts to escape. This is an act that would barely stop his arm from twisting and his body getting thrown. Martina covered his act with a burst of flame aimed from one wand at the young man. The sword he owned would possibly stay in Roderick's hands as he got hit as he landed nearby. -- Natural Power Level: 3562 Word Count: 160/2182 Tags: Roderick Note: N/A -- (2 Standard Action Used) (2 Actions Unused) (1 At Will Action from Martina Used) (2/4) Arcane Points Remain Yasu Uses 2 "Energy Blasts" Martina Uses 1 "At Will Energy Attack" "Strange Power" Activates next turn to Override Power Level Edge. Panting, he thought that blunt strike of the blade didnt do much damage. It was just some cold! Unfortunately for him, it had. He just couldn't feel the pain of the strike since of the cold numbing the pain. While it wasnt enough to freeze him like Shiro was able to, it still was cold enough for him to not feel the pain of the strike. A large, purple bruise was already forming on his belly and he didnt even notice it. If one were to strike him there again, it might stop his attacks for just a brief moment. He thought he was going to land two good hits on the rude fella when he saw a glow emit from their hands. Glancing down, he saw the forming of some strange energy. He thought it was one of those ki blasts he saw on tv but this seemed more... strange than that. He couldnt place his finger on it. While he didnt know what a ki blast felt like, he just had a gut feeling it wasnt that. It didnt even hurt too bad... at least it didnt feel too bad. Back to the fight, he didnt have enough time to dodge it as the first mystical orb of magic hit his chest. He grunted in pain but he now knew to avoid that. He saw the second one coming and quickly moved to the side so it would shot in the distance behind him. What was that?? Was he really magical? So he could wield magic and be proficient with a sword? If he wasnt biting down on his teeth so hard, he wouldve shouted that mages were bullcrap. Luckily, he noticed the gal from the corner of his preparing her own barrage. The sight of light giving away what she was about to do. Thinking quickly, he tightened his hands into fists and jumped out of the incoming burst of flames. The image of flames from Toshiro entering his mind. Being frozen was one thing, being set on fire was a whole other matter! He landed in the tall grass, letting out a grunt from some of the air in his lungs being forced out. Not even considering if the flames hit the grass, he tried to stand up when he realized he was holding onto something. He glanced at what he was holding when he saw the hilt of the sword before the gleam of the blade in the light. He managed to snatch it from his hands! Gasping quietly, he got to his feet and then considered his options. He had his sword! Now he could use it. Problem was he never has handled a sword before. It was too long and the hilt felt uncomfortable for him to hold. Plus the size and trying to balance it in his hold was too much of a pain. He could tell all that by just holding it for a few seconds. The closest thing to a sword he has handled like this one was a kitchen knife a big stick. Without saying a word, he twisted and tossed the blade as far as he could away from the battlefield. Maybe that would buy him some time or at the very least even the playing field. He could've actually died or lost a limb trying to fight him while rude boy weilded that. Speaking of... Turning to the rude boy, he rushed at him. Maybe he shouldve tried to thrown it at him before tossing it away. It wouldve made closing the distance between them easier. Once he finally got close enough, he would crouch down and aim for a low kick to Yasu's legs to throw him off. Hoping it would knock him to the ground like how he had fallen before. However, it had been awhile since he attempted a maneuver like that so he did a 360 and lost his balanced. He would fall to the ground, hitting his chest on the grass. That's when a searing pain shot from his chest and alerted his brain. Oh, god! He didnt even realize how much damage that blast did to him. What he didnt realize from earlier was that his adrenaline kept him from feeling the pain. Now pushing against his chest felt like thousands of pins digging into his skin. If Yasu could do that, why did he even need a sword?! Quickly "recovering" he pushed off the grass and momentarily ran at him on all fours like a wolf before trying to jump off the ground and aiming a punch towards that V lined chin of Yasu's. Now, he may have "borrowed" this move from a wrestling show he used to watch and it may have not been as practical in a real fight... but it would look REALLY cool if he did land this punch. He could recall what it was called. "Suppaman punch". He had to try at least once in a fight. ("800 words maximum. 5,600 words for rewards.")
