Name: Valentus Nectarine
Species: Tuffle
Age:
- Originally born: ~800 years ago
- Cloned: 16 years ago
- Mental age: 36
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Valentus is a young man of moderately athletic build with roughly reddish hair - it may appear light orange-y or brown depending on the lighting, but generally appears orange-red. This hair is held up by a blue headband, and he wears a blue suit of armor - a replica of medieval Tuffle knight armor from several millennia past. A cloak flows from his shoulders, wrapping around his neck, and a sword is always attached to his belt.
Personality: Valentus is as innocent and pure-hearted as a Tuffle clone raised as a part of the ISLET program can be. Stunningly idealistic and determined to fight for others, he isn't even held back by rather brutal memories of being crushed by an Oozaru's foot in his first life - that, to him, is even greater motivation to work towards a world free of such hatred and pain, rather than see history repeat. He's still reserved towards the Saiyans themselves, obviously - a life of warfare against them and then growing up under ISLET still left its mark - however, if the situation calls for it, he would not hesitate to jump forward to save a Saiyan, either.
When speaking to others, he is almost always energetic and optimistic, aiming to not only constantly stay in high spirits himself, but to make sure nobody else gets a chance to feel down, either. He grows noticeably somber when discussing topics from his backstory, however - his life on Planet Plant, the war against the Saiyans, his time in ISLET... He would much rather leave this past behind, and generally presents himself as an Earthling, rather than a Tuffle, to people he meets.
History: Valentus was born as the scion of the House of Nectarine, an old noble lineage on Planet Plant. Hundreds of years before his birth, Asbolus Nectarine earned this noble title thanks to his undying service to the Tuffle Kingdom on the battlefield, and his progeny continued this martial tradition. Though their lands had dwindled over the centuries, reduced to a single manor, they retained a seat in Parliament and maintained a compassionate stance, proposing that the brewing conflict between them and the enslaved Saiyans could be solved without bloodshed, to no avail. Valentus grew up in this environment, learning little about life outside of the walls of manor, where he read about tales of ancient heroes and trained with his parents and uncle - both handling modern rifles and medieval swords.
Once war broke out between the Tuffles and the Saiyans, Valentus volunteered for the Tuffle Armed Services and served on the front lines, where he soon earned distinction among his peers. In spite of being much, much weaker than his Saiyan opponents, he engaged them at close quarters, vibroblade in one hand and blaster in another, and pulled through with sheer grit and prodigial fighting skill. In the very last years of the war, he kept up hope for his company of fellow young volunteers, and as much as their numbers dwindled in the face of the Saiyan threat, he remained as spirited for battle as always. As a noble and son of a member of parliament, Valentus was included to the list of people set to be shipped out of the planet and saved, but refused his slot with a letter to his army command, instead requesting that one of the innocent civilians he saved take it instead. Instead, he joined the rest of the planet in being hooked to the Master Index, equipped a NeuroJumper and stormed to battle one last time.
Valentus Nectarine died on the Night of the Full Moon, crushed by an Oozaru in a last stand in the Tuffle Capital, Compote City. He was born again eight hundred years later, his fighting experience deemed necessary by ISLET yet again, in the Earth's south.
Valentus woke up to an entirely different world - Earth, which, for all intents and purposes, was serene and peaceful, inhabited by an alien race which nevertheless was stunningly similar to their own, and among the last remnants of his species holed up in an underground bunker complex, far away from the rest of the Universe. He was taken in by a few surviving members of the Tuffle nobility as one of their own, all while beginning a new period of study and training as a part of the ISLET Program. To further build upon his renown as one of the few Tuffles able to duel Saiyans one on one, Valentus was enhanced, given superhuman strength and augmented to compete with Ki users, Saiyans specifically. However, the young Tuffle was very quickly disillusioned with the organization.
Back on Planet Plant, when the doctors first explained to him what the Master Index project will achieve, Valentus imagined it as escape. As much as he fought against the Saiyans and as many of them as the Saiyans killed, he would rather not fight against them, and instead continue to a normal, everyday lazy life - and this cloning project could achieve just that, right? They merely need to escape, then rebuild somewhere far away, restore their population, and return to normalcy... instead, Valentus returned to a Tuffle society which was brewing in their own hatred, even four hundred years later. It was as if hatred was all they knew, and renewing the war against Saiyans their only purpose.
Recognizing that he will never reconcile this difference with ISLET, Valentus defected. One night, taking a suit of reconstructed armor and weaponry from one of his noble benefactors, he fled, escaped the underground in secret, and ran as far away as possible. Here, on the surface of Earth, he chose to assume a new life - one as a hero. Travelling from village to village, Valentus serves the people of Earth, fighting monsters and saving innocents, just like his ancestors, noble heroes of the Tuffle people, did centuries ago. Almost as soon as his travels began, he met a partner in crime, too - a tiny little pixie called Paizu, one of the first beings he saved on his journey by stopping her designs of turning a forest into a place one can never escape from and driving people to madness, and convincing her to drop her wicked intentions and join his ranks instead. As a native of Earth, Paizu usually acts as a guide for the sheltered alien hero.

A terrifying threat has beset Sugarbeet Village, one of many numerous towns scattered across the endless countryside of Earth. Houses were crashing one after another, people were fleeing in terror, and a cloud of smoke rose to the sky from the distance, signaling everyone for miles that something terrible was going on. Giant monsters have grown less frequent across the planet ever since martial artists of pretty much every flavor have begun using them as target practice, but they were always still around - and one, having just risen from the cave in which it has slept for almost a year, was now casually strolling across the Village, its feet crushing cars and walls in their path.
The monster itself would not look that terrifying had it been a normal size - it was a giant pig-man, with a swine-like head and a thick, plump body standing on two small feet, covered in some rags. Pig-men able to talk, not crush towns, and even run for office were a common sight across the planet - however, this was a more primitive version, more of an animal than a beastman, if a gigantic and dangerous one.
The rumbling and the cries for help caught the attention of a particular duo some buildings away.
"Val! Val!" Paizu suddenly called out, the little pixie floating around Valentus and pointing to the distance. "That is where the sound is coming from." The head of the pig monster was already peeking over the buildings, the creature approaching their way. The Tuffle put away his food in haste - it was a shame that he did not have time to finish the delicacy, but saving this village is by far more important. Somehow, the people of Sugarbeet Town managed to create over a thousand different food recipes centered around sugarbeet, and somehow they don't even get too samey!
"What is that thing?! Is that even an Earthling?" Valentus called out, running forward and drawing his sword, the fighter's eyes set upon the monster as they were rapidly getting closer.
"On a technical level, yes! But it is more of a beast than human!" Paizu yelled, flying to catch up. "I got a chance to sneakily watch a biology lesson in a school once and they said that these monsters are basically primitive versions of-"
"Alright, I don't need a backstory!" her teammate called out and leapt, hopping onto the wooden rooftop of a peasant's hut with a flip and, from there, jumping straight at the pig monster's back. Valentus soared across the sky without it even noticing, and thrust his sword into the shoulder, the weapon embedding itself and allowing him to hold on. The thick fat underneath the monster's skin meant that it barely felt the strike, nor did any blood come out - however, the itch caused got it to stop in its tracks and move its arm to try to scratch it. The Tuffle registered its movement and responded appropriately - he pulled himself closer and placed both of his feet on the creature's back, pulled out the sword, and then immediately ran forward to scale up the back before gravity could pull him downwards.
Valentus landed on the shoulder - and just in time, as the part of the back where he was a moment ago got slapped by the monster's reaching hand. He stabbed the creature's skin again to keep it irritated, then jumped upwards, this time landing on its head. Here, he pulled onto the pointy ears, forcing to to jerk its head to the side. From up here, the Tuffle had a few options. He could scale down the creature's face, for example, and strike the really vulnerable areas - the eyes, for example. That would be the soldier's response... Valentus, however, had a different idea, one which won't even need to cause so much maiming.
In fact, his idea was already coming into motion. A primitive monster such as this one, attacked from numerous directions by a mysterious attacker it could not get a hold of, was frightened and began running, all while slapping its arms around to try to catch it wherever it started feeling pain. Now all that was needed to do was to steer the creature, make sure it does not run through any more buildings of the village. To this end, Valentus began hopping from one side of the creature to another, pulling onto its ears, stabbing it in the shoulders and twisting to the side, to get it to constantly switch direction without getting caught himself, and directing it to run through the trail of destruction it has already left.
It took some clever play with the creature's pain sensors and a lot of near misses, but eventually, the frightened pig ran out, fleeing to the hills, and Valentus thus hopped off its shoulder with a backflip. The hero landed on his feet, a fleeing monster before him and a rescued village behind him.
"...oh, and I am here!"
And a little pixie friend at the side.
