Bats outta Hail | 1 Star Mission (2000 Words Requirement)- Some IDIOT magic boy or girl messed up a spell and recently summoned bats from a dimension of ice. It wouldn't be an issue, but the bats escaped, have been multiplying, and when they fly through a region they make it frosty and summon hail. Send them back to the infernal freezer they fluttered out of.
-----
Arashi didn't intend to leave Pilaf Land for very long, but he was curious about seeing more of the world. He didn't think he would go on any worldly explorations just yet, but soon, perhaps. For the moment he would impose on Ty and Cayle for a while longer. The two of them were kind and Cayle had plenty to teach him. Those two together would make him a lot stronger much faster than he could have on his own. And the food that Cayle had made the other day was great. He knew those two were strong, but even if they had not been, he thought they might have been people worth protecting. At least when it came to them, his respect, and perhaps even love for them, would not be based simply on the strength they held. In a way, they were helping to raise him. And while he respected power as a monster, that didn't have to mean power was the only thing that mattered. Those two at least were special.
As he wandered out from the edge of Pilaf land, following the road to forests unknown, he was simply intending to follow the road to the first new city or town he could find. He sighed flexing the small wings on his back out from his conjured clothing for a moment. He was getting stronger, but he still wasn't strong enough to fly yet. But that could come in time with power. So for now he continued to walk, not that it strained him very much. He could have sprinted all the way to the next town if he wanted to get there quickly without much effort. But he didn't. Instead, he enjoyed the walk, enjoying the ambiance of the woods around him. The chirping of the birds, and the scent of the woods, among other things.

Arashi was walking along until he heard a voice call in his direction. When he found the source of the voice he gave them something of a blank stare. "Did you just call me, a bird child?" He asked before extending his wings, showing that he had no feathers. They were more like bat wings if anything. "I'm a dragon, not a bird!" He called back with a hint of annoyance. "I eat birds for breakfast!" That wasn't a joke either. And to demonstrate that fact, he located the nearest bird he could find. Seeing one flying in the sky, a raven, he lifted a pair of fingers at it, firing a beam of freezing energy that froze the bird instantly. It tumbled from the sky, and towards Arashi's general direction.
He had to take a few steps but managed to catch the bird before pointedly biting its head off. The sound was more like biting into a block of ice since Arashi had simply frozen it solid. Blood, bone, muscle, all as fragile as ice while powerful pointed teeth bit into it. And he continued to eat it, crunching and eating the bird. It was gone in about three bites as Arashi stuffed his mouth, which could actually open quite wide. He probably could have eaten the bird whole if he wanted to. But he figured eating the bird piece by piece would make it evident he didn't like being compared to a bird.

"I rather doubt you've seen any of my kind before. Or if you have, I know them not." He said simply, yellow eyes slit as he looked at the man who jumped from the tree. He took note of the pale skin, and the weight his body seemed to have impacted upon the earth, as well as his scent or perhaps lack of scent carried by the breeze.
"What does it matter if I am alone or not? You see no one else with me while I walk. You may assume then, that I am alone. Though if I am not alone, it would be without my knowledge." He noted, wary of this stranger to some extent. He did not think they were human, though their appearance seemed to suggest that they were.
He squinted at the man, as he was asked what he could teach him. "I don't know that I could teach you anything. I do not know what you are capable of... As for where I am going, wherever the wind takes me is as good an answer as any, really. I do not intend to go far, only to explore the edge of Pilaf Land, and then return home once I am satisfied with what I have seen." He explained simply. Indicating he would be missed at least if this man intended him harm.

Between what this guy was doing, saying, and asking or at least suggesting. Arashi felt like he was caught in a whirlwind. Giving a little grunt by the time the pale man was done with what he was saying, and considering what it was he had to say.
Apparently, this guy was chasing after some ice bats. Whatever those were, though he assumed they were what the name implied them to be. Assuming that the name was not misleading at least.
These bats were apparently causing damage to the area from what he was told. Causing hail storms apparently. If that was the case then Arashi could not say he wasn't interested in the potential these creatures might offer him since it seemed they were also creatures of ice. He imagined if he consumed a few of these creatures that it might give his magic with ice a small boost. Perhaps that would not be the case, but it was worth the chance at least.
So he was willing to help, though for the moment his intention to help was due more to a selfish desire for power than to do any kind of good by helping the area by destroying the infestation. Then again, if the people were grateful to him for doing something good, and rewarded him, that could also be a perk. Selfish, power-hungry, and a little greedy. Not the best motivations for a person to have, but his reasons would hardly matter to any normal person in trouble from these bats.
"You have a point." Arashi decided looking at the weird tall pale man. "But normally someone should at least know the name of the person asking for help, before asking for it, shouldn't they?" He asked clearly curious who he was speaking with. But he had to admit that while they might be odd to him, they were pretty convincing.

"What an odd question. Is changing one's name a common occurrence in the world? Is your name different now than it was in the past?" He asked shaking his head. "My name is Arashi. I doubt it will change, though one day I main gain new titles I suppose. If I have it my way, then one day I may be a king." He said simply as they walked.
As they approached the snowy mountain he noted the thing that IX put between his lips. He had no idea what it even was, having never seen such a thing until now. "What is that thing in your mouth? Is that food or something?" He questioned, though doubted it. From what he could see of it, it looked like some kind of paper packed with herbs. His mother had never seen anything like it, so he had no passed down memories of it, and neither had he seen anyone smoking yet. So the object was new and curious to him. Seeing as IX put it in his mouth though, clearly, he was going to do something with it though. Eat it, or suck on it were his best guesses.
"So does that mean they will be sleeping in a cave?" He questioned also getting back to the task at hand a moment later. He extended a hand out to his left, ice forming in his hand to form a javelin. He was likely going to conjure and toss many of these at the beastly enemy.

"Who's Gear?" He asked since the way that IX said it, made it sound like a name though he could not be entirely sure.
Arashi chuckled at the idea of being chained to a throne. "It depends on how you rule. But power is my reason. I want power, and I want to be respected. Kings are respected, weather they are loved, or hated. Weather I am remembered for being a king, should I get that far, I would have become one among those who had the title." He mused lightly.
"And that seems like a really overcomplicated explination of what's basically a pipe stick." Pipe stick being the best way Arashi had to describe how the cigarette worked to him, being that is was basically just wrapped herbs. His mother didn't have many memories of people smoking, but there were one or two occasional memories of attacking people who had been camping around a fire smoking their pipes. From the memory his mother shared it was likely hunters who had come after her at the time. Although he could not be sure, it was possible they had been normal hunters coming to a bad part of the woods at the time. Though his mother had not risked their presence regardless and slew them.
Curious at the time she had even taken a small drag from the pipe. The result was amusing to Arashi, his mother had started caughing and nearly vomiting from the experience. She'd never attempted to smoke a pipe again after that, and was left wondering why humans would enjoy such a painful habbit. At least until she learned a little more about pipes at a later time, which hadn't raised her opinion of the activity, though it had given her a better understanding. And so that knowledge was passed to Arashi.
However the way that IX explained it was far more in depth than anything his mother had known about smoking. To the point that Arashi barely understood it. He vaugely understood "nervous system" which he had to simplify to nerves, meaning it effected the nerves. And understood "stimulant" enough to take that to mean it was related to the "energy" IX mentioned. Since it didn't make sense that such a thing might effect other kinds of energy.
When they finally got to the mouth of the cave, he watched as IX used some sort of strange attack. It seemed as though the attack he used sucked all the heat from the air around them, which didn't bother Arashi at all. Part of his power was over ice, he would have been just fine in the coldest places in the world and even colder. "Doesn't bother me at all." He said simply watching the attack being launched forward.
He imagined the bats would come storming out and that there would be many of them. Humming to himself he decided to try something... Bigger. The bats had apparently been causing a damaging, if not lethal hail. If that was the case, then why couldn't Arashi try it? So he lifted a hand to the sky, making use of the cold to create numerous shining needle like ice cicles. Creating hundreds of dagger like ice cicles he intended to launch at the bats. He didn't bother speaking the name of the attack, it wasn't anything special, just deciding to call this attack his "Hail Storm". So the name was self evident in the attack.

Arashi simply prepared to fire another hail storm on the bats. It was the most effective move he had to use without going overboard anyway. He could fire some lightning, but he figured that using the hail storm would be more effective, covering a wider area than a single lightning bolt. The bats didn't seem like a very impressive challenge anyway. Besides that, ice was his element, if the bats attacked the way he thought they might then all he had to do was to catch their attacks and send them back at the attacking bats. Whatever shards of ice they tried to rain back at him he could catch and make his own.
However, with the swarm of bats he also considered future attacks. The least of which he had in mind would be a chain lightning spell. Something he could use to strike every target in a designated area. A shame he could not simply make spells up on the spot, it took time to design his spells since he had to form the spell in his core, and then release it with his will into the world around him.
"I'm ready." He said gathering his energy preparing to counter the counterattack.
