Kiryu stood on the shores of the Southlands. It had been a rather eventful month or so, and he had grown quite a bit in strength and skill. He had fought things that he never even would have believed existed. He had...
Well, shit. He had failed.
It shouldn't have irked him, given everything he had gone through and accomplished, but Professor Poblano was still at large. Not only was he at large, but Kiryu had literally no idea how to find him. The reclusive genius was, essentially a terrorist, one that Kiryu had tried to stop with Caffey. They had thought they had been stealthy, but... apparently Poblano was more perceptive than either of them had realized.
It weighed on him, through his sojourns, as did many other things. Had he been doing the right thing? Were his journeys going to bear fruit? Would he be able to find enough other individuals that he could count on to defend the world with him?
Would he finally be able to actually relax and get drunk?
Kiryu was lost in these musings, wandering around the market of a small town, not looking for anything in particular but hoping that going through the motions of every day life might distract him from his ennui.

Meanwhile, bereft of any such wonders, there was Majin Nal. She's come to the Islands in search of Kiryu, but then, when she finally got a moment to properly sense after her aburpt landing (and time to buy herself a pair of boots!), the majin realised she must've missed the man she was shadowing - for his power was back in the Southlands, where she came from. Rather amused by it, the majin laughed a little, rushed around the shops to try all manners of local candy (rather disappointed that few of those she found in such a short time differed significantly from her already obtained hoard!) - and then decided to rush right back, to find her friend once more, show off her power and generally - have a good time.
Well, it was time to fly once more.
Finding a suitable place just outside the city on the islands, Nal focused the green aura at her feet, bursting into the air like a frenzied comet, leaving a small crater in her wake (lift-offs required just as much work as landings, though she would eventually learn both of those, hopefully!) and blitzing through the air at a rapid pace, sensing the energy of her friend with the antenna-like tendril extended in front of her. That way... he was that way, she could sense it. Her first friend! Sort of.
He was a friend, right?
She would learn that soon, not wasting too much time on idle musings right now, as the salty breeze of seawater tickled the majin's face, her gray and green aura bursting through the air and leaving a ripple on the water in her wake, like a supersonic motorboat. And with each moment, she neared. Grinning widely, the majin flexed her power, flaring up somewhat as a signal for her friend to notice (and, also, for anyone within the area that could sense power, but even despite her Red Ribbon adventure, the majin had yet to learn that lesson).
And she did that every once a while, until the water was replaced by sand - and since sand clouds were less pleasant than salty water, she flew higher, to avoid having the rough, irritating dust in her eyes and mouth. Nobody liked that. Soon enough, the sense of Kiryu's power was clearer - larger, even, than the first time they met! But she also had done some advancement, hoping that he'd notice and commend. Not quite sure why that mattered for her, but it did. First friend and all that.
Sufficiently ahead of the target, the majin began slowing down - unlike during the landing in the islands, she thought of it ahead of the time, the gray aura expanding and devouring the green flames in it, dissipating the power and generally slowing down. "Hey! It's me again!" - she shouted in the air - however, the majin still was absurdly fast and didn't quite manage to slow down in time to land right next to Kiryu, instead having to steer down into the desert behind the small city he was in. Landing behind it with a thud, a crater in the sand and a small, artificial sandstorm left in the lithe, gray figure's wake. Then, she began coughing. Bleh.

Research and scientific discoveries has its financial limitations, especially if the type of project involved required secrecy, and it had taken two generations of the Poblano family clan to reach the pinnacle of their project only to be shut down by Capsule Corp. The primary investor for Poblano Industries had grown tired of the length of time it was taking to complete a viable fountain of youth serum and underhandedly sold the entire lab to Capsule Corp without counsel along with any research that had been done over the past fifty five years; that Professor Poblano and his daughter under the same name had committed their entire lives to. It was out of malice and retaliation that Professor Poblano junior blew up the lab as well as destroy Capsule Corp property so that no one else had the knowledge. While it was insignificant to Capsule Corp to have such information the damage had been done and the bounty had been placed. Professor Pobablano has been on the run since the incident, finding a bit of joy in utilizing her inventions to stave off any pursuers, and she felt quite flattered that bounty hunters were after her compared to her college years; being the genius that she was at thirteen when people avoided her on campus. At the prime age of thirty, she found the thrill of the hunt, even if she was being hunted, anyone who crossed her had met their demise, and she found joy in it every time as it was part of her saiyan blood to thirst for battle. The Poblano Family were from humble Oolong City beginnings, starving for zeni like the rest of the saiyans who lived there who were not proud business owners, land owners, or vassals to the duchies. Former Professor Poblano was a genius himself and was offered a full scholarship at Orange Star University where he met his saiyan wife and mother to his only child. It was also at this university that he met his partner and investor to begin working on the serum. At the age of sixty his daughter took over so he could retire with his wife with the promise to reverse the aging process for his business partner. Professor Poblano Junior had been confident in her abilities to conclude the research on behalf of her family’s legacy by committing ten years of her life on the project. It was an unfortunate series of events to have Capsule Corp purchase the entire lab along with everything inside, she had no choice but to level the entire building to bits, with no chance at redemption. Professor Poblano has traveled the world since, hiding away in secret underground tuffle bunkers using a specialized homing signal device that unveiled these locations for her personal use. The southern islands were teeming with tuffle bunkers, a few of them had pickled saiyans inside, which she freed into the wild, and her attentions were diverted to tuffle experimentation on her kind; she began collecting the data so that she could become a super saiyan as some of the data seemed focused on.

"Hey! It's me again!"
That, and a spike of ki, was all the warning Kiryu had before his eyes were drawn to a green aura speeding his way. Kiryu tensed for a moment, wondering if it was an attack... and then, as he recognized the form speeding his way, a wide grin split his face.
"Nal!", Kiryu exclaimed as the gray skinned Majin came to a stop with a bit more force than she likely intended. Surprise and delight were clear in his voice, and he held back his mirth at the rough landing, remembering the difficulties that he had had with mastering high speed movement. Kiryu felt he still had not really gotten there when combining high speed with flight, so he was certainly no one to judge.
The people in the marketplace let out gasps of surprise; a ki powered superhuman cratering the ground as they landed was clearly not an everyday occurrence, and there was some fear displayed on some faces. Kiryu waved to the crowd, calling out.
"It's okay, this is a friend of mine! We mean none of you any harm, we're just passing through!"
Kiryu, of course, did not know that that was precisely true. He was, however, absolutely certain that Nal was no threat to the innocent folk. After their brief adventure together, he had come away with the sense that Nal was... well, he didn't know what she was, exactly, but she tried to do good, and that was more than Kiryu could expect from most.
Heck, she didn't try to immediately murder or rub him the first time they met. That was, somehow, not exactly the norm.
"It's wonderful to see you again, Nal! Wow... you've really grown!"
If that spike of power Kiryu had felt was any indication, her growth had been phenomenal, comparable, in fact, to Kiryu's own. He looked at Nal appraisingly.
"What, have you been hitting the weights while I've been off fighting giant Kaiju? Figures, I go to stop some primordial shark demon that's just... maybe a normal mutated shark... it was weird, but anyway! Not a whole lot of time for training, and you go ahead and you almost catch up to me! I tell ya, life just ain't fair sometimes!"
Kiryu said all that with a smile in his eyes and and undercurrent of bubbling laughter in his voice. It would be difficult to take that as anything other than the friendly, faux complaining that it was.
"All right, what do you say you and I find a place to go snag a drink? We can swap stories. I have had... a whole mess of nonsense go on, let me tell you! There were, uh... pirates? At some point? A witch tried to cut my head off. Saved a city. I can fly now too, that's pretty neat. Almost got pounded into a fine goo by a Saiyan. He's a cool dude, though. Uhhh... met a faerie? Like, a real one. Oh and I am looking for this terrorist doctor who bombed a Capsule Corp facility. That's... like, most of my craziness right now? So what's up with you? Tell me all about it and then we can get into the details... once we have some beer. Or sake. Or both. I kind of got turned on to sake bombs lately."

Once she has coughed out all the sand, the majin scrambled out of the small crater, grinning ear to ear as she listened to Kiryu speak. So they were friends, after all! That made the gray little thing quite happy, for some reason. "That is a lot of adventures. I had a lot too! I met a demon baron, and another majin like me! And a technoman who was really grumpy, because he apparently had ten other technomen anger and sadness in him, so it all made him really really mad. I also met a man with really sharp ki who hurt a lot when he hit, I met a man with spiky hair when I flew to the Islands to find you, then I sensed you were back here so I immediately flew back, also I fought all of them and got beaten up by everyone, sort of. I also found a demon under the mountains and made a sword from the ore there, I looked for a legendary fighter in the south, I ate the biggest sausage ever, I fought a huge vulture and beat up some people with red butterflies on their collars, then I ate an even bigger bird. Oh, and I learned many cool tricks I have to show you!" The onslaught of words finally paused, as the majin took in her surroundings, smiling cheerfully at people - especially those who came along with shovels to fix the crater in the ground. That one was her fault, but she had no idea how to fix holes in the sand!
"We should go, yes. Catch up on all the things we did... maybe go on an adventure together! I decided what I want to do in combat and that means I need friends, because I can't heal myself as well as I can heal other people... something about my power is like that. Get something nice to drink! I can find something too, maybe some food. Long flights make me hungry. Come on!"

Professor Poblano dozed off translating remnants of encrypted Tuffle reports, accidentally hitting the scouter clipped on her ear, which went off and woke her up as she picked up Nal’s power level reading start at 11,268 then count up to 14,085. Earlier in the week, she detected a power level of 50,000 unknowingly from South City and she had remained hidden away ever since; finding encrypted footage on digital transit of a flying shark. With a bounty on her head she made certain not to venture out by keeping her own power level suppressed. The bunker she was in was on a tiny sand bar island with a hatch over head covered by the high tide of the ocean. It would be a miracle for anyone to find her since she had not been seen in public since the typhoon warning in South City where she managed to steal a submarine to make her escape.
It would require quite a bit of research to discover the connection between the stolen submarine and herself by any bounty hunter given the recent events of the Southern Islands.

Kiryu grinned at Nal's relation of her own adventures. Something about the Majin brought about an almost childlike enthusiasm in Kiryu himself. Perhaps it was simply her unbridled enthusiasm. Kiryu had always harbored the belief that 'grown ups' had some unspoken agreement that there were certain things that one should be serious about. That a certain amount of silliness, of playfulness, of excitement was now denied them, because they were SERIOUS ADULTS. Kiryu had always hated that notion. He loved being able to be a bit goofy. To be curious. To be hopeful and surprised and delighted by the world around him, to gush over new experiences and discoveries, to never stop loving life.
He felt like once he lost that, that was when he would feel old.
Kiryu made his way over to a local watering home, calling for a couple of sake bombs. Damn pig duchess, Kiryu thought with fondness, She actually managed to get me a bit tipsy with this concoction. It seemed that despite his metabolism, Kiryu's body chemistry still had a hard time processing beer and liquor mixed together... which made it ideal for when the young man actually wanted to feel a tad inebriated. One wouldn't do much, though.
Kiryu saw that the bar, called 'The Laughing Clam', had a food menu. It was standard pub fare, and Kiryu ordered a plate of nachos. You couldn't go wrong with warm tortilla chips and melted cheese, right?
"You know," Kiryu said, chewing his lower lip in contemplation, "That thing you said about the way your power works got me thinking. See, I'm not exactly your run of the mill martial artist. Turns out, I happen to be a bit of a magic boy. My power runs a bit different from that of others as well. Maybe, if the two of us work together, we can solve a little problem of mine."
To illustrate his point, Kiryu held out his palm, and from the pocket dimension that held some of his accouterments, Kiryu summoned what appeared to be a small table computer.
"A couple of months ago, I was looking for Professor Pepper. He had just attacked some Capsule Corp facilities, like I said. I tracked him down, but by the time I found his hideout, there were just some token bandits and robotic guards. The place had been wiped clean of anything useful. He had destroyed his hard drives entirely. I kept this, though. It was a tablet that was probably used to link up to the main computer. I couldn't get anything out of it, nor could my more tech savvy allies, but now that you're here, I have an idea.
I'm thinking I can try a tracking spell. Sounds weird, I know, but if Poblano used the item, it could create a sympathetic link to him. I've tried it before, but... that's some delicate magic. I've been more of a 'brute force the magic into doing what I want' kind of guy. I've been practicing and getting better at my finesse, but... well, it's been slow going.
Here's what I'm thinking.
The problem is that I know how to form the energy for the spell, but I can't hold it together. It's like the energy forms a lattice, but it's like it's formed out of liquid, and I can't keep it together. What you're doing, healing, using your energy that way, seems like what I can do. If you can see what I'm doing, maybe you can channel that healing power to help my spell hold together... because at the end of the day, it's all just energy. What do you think? If you want to give this a shot we might be able to have this lead us right to the Professor. I doubt they'll have much in the way of defenses against magic!"

The majin gladly followed to the place that had food and drinks. She loved food and drinks and as they arrived, reached to pick up a hefty amount of candy - gumdrops and some hard candy in colourful wrappings, meticulously trying to split them into two piles. Each has the same flavours on each side, though she is... probably listening to what Kiryu says about the doctor and a laptop. Pausing her candy splitting as the item just sort of appears out of nowhere, causing her eyes to go wide.
"Hey, you can do magic too! That is awesome." she said, full of awe indeed, grinning ear to ear and pushing her friend's part of the sweet bounty towards him, then taking one of the apple-flavoured mints and unwrapping it, tossing the thing in her mouth. Then trying one of the drinks Kiryu bought. Shuddering slightly as the combination of alcohol and apple flavouring meshed oddly well in her mouth! This had to be something that had to be tried again later... with more of both of the things. For now, she had a thing to listen to and comment on.
Eventually, a few sips and many candies later - with Nal wrapping the wrappers around eachother, making an increasingly large ball of many colours - she decided it was time to actually say something. "I can do more than just heal, too. I can... share some of my power with others, you know? Like... I know that one trick that makes me much larger and stronger for a while, I can instead give that power to you. Maybe I can focus my energy and do what you said, refine that spell and then give it back to you to use since you know it best? I think that would be a good thing! And yes. I can definitely help with that, I'd love to be of help to a good friend! And be useful. Maybe I can help you find that doctor, too? We can both fly, so if we split up, I can go, like, full strenght blazing and you can hide when I distract that person and you go capture him, yes? Even if I get hit, I can take it and not hurt too much. I can actually hit myself with all my strength and not feel anything! ...does that make me tough or weak, actually?"
Nal shrugged, it was a honest, important question. She needed to either get stronger or at least a bit tougher, knowing which she's better at was a good starting point, right?

{ Professor Poblano FC} The green modified scouter was pulled away from her face with the band of the headset and a mic that was attached was lowered near her mouth to test out her Tuffle tech integrated machinery. While she was holed up in the bunker, she developed a series of robots over the past couple of months as a premeasure to evade bounty hunters, and she reached a point of paranoia despite not encountering anyone in her wake. Professor Poblano ruffled her dark red hair as she tried to shake the thoughts from her mind so she can remain focused on the miniature robot she had been tinkering with. While it was only equipped with a suction cup dart, it was preemptive measure to serve as a distraction rather than be seen as a weapon, and she modeled it after an Emperor Pilaf machine from one of her childhood storybooks. A sigh escaped her lips, she always wanted to be an engineer, but she wanted to do right by her father by continuing his legacy on the youth serum. After interning with Capsule Corp while pursuing her degree in Chemistry at West City University, she figured the formula was near completion more specifically with the restoration fluid formula which she had been trying to replicate since she had a theory that it would mix well together. At some point, she had spent a quantitative amount of zeni to submerge herself in one of the pods Capsule Corp offered to the wealthy, she felt her stress melt away and her dry skin become smooth in an instance. Ever since then, she had to motivation to compete with Capsule Corp, but she never imagined that Poblano Family’s life’s work would be diminished to ashes in an instant; a result of her Saiyan pride. Kiryu rubbed his chin thoughtfully, taking in Nal's explanation of her abilities. It seemed that, like Kiryu himself, the Majin was far from your common martial artist. That made Kiryu hopeful that their powers would mesh well together. He cocked his head as she finished speaking, considering Nal's last question.
"It doesn't make you either," Kiryu said slowly, mulling over the question in his mind. "It makes you self-aware... and that is a strength, believe you me. I've met more than my fair share of fighters with incredible strength that had not really taken the time to examine their true aptitudes and hone their skills... and that made them easy to exploit. Knowing yourself, your strengths and weaknesses, is one of the most important traits for any warrior. Take me, for example. I'm slippery as all hell, but taking a hit? Not exactly my forte. I have to debilitate people and ensure their strikes do as little damage as possible. I have a lot of spiritual power, and of course, compared to an ordinary human being, I'm practically a super hero! But compared to similarly powerful fighters, my body isn't anywhere near strong enough to keep up. Better not to get hit and be sneered at then have my arm broken by blocking some roided up Namekian, I always say. Well, actually, this is the first time I've ever said that, but I imagine it's going to hold true."
As he spoke, Kiryu waved his hand over the tablet, beginning to weave together a spell, concentrating.
"I like your idea. If I can get this to actually work, yeah. I'll hide my power. You can blaze around looking for Poblano, and then we can try to trap the Professor. Ambushes are particularly effective, I find. So... let's see if we can actually make this work."
Kiryu's brow furrowed as he concentrated. He formed the magic as he always did; utilizing his will, essentially wishing his spell into existence. But this was no simple thing. Kiryu had constructed solid objects, but they were inanimate, moved by Kiryu's will or by the muscles of his compatriots. This spell was a living, intelligent thing, and even as he felt the spell begin to work, he felt the threads of magic begin to fray. He was losing it.
"Time is now, Nal! If it works, you should feel it. Hold the item in your hands, and it should give you a sense of where to go... I think. I'll follow at a distance and hide."

The majin nodded and grinned - that answer was good enough for her, self awareness was important, but - for a change, she decided to continue that line of musing later, rather than get distracted right now. They had a job to do! And as she focused, she could hear the power whisper, like Atalan's own brand of magic, except... less demonic, more... well, not-demonic. The same, but different, but yet the same. Like hers, but also so unlike.
Reaching out, the majin seized that spell with her hand, touching the handle of her sword with the other - a green aura began pouring from the blade, focusing the chaotic magicks into Nal's right palm, which held the squirming spell. And... the effect was pretty overwhelming for the majin - a chaotic mind as hers rarely focused on a single thing for long. Really rarely. Now, it had a really hard focus, on a single item - that one computer he took, but it also tried to escape, to just... disperse into a billion little pieces.
Fortunately, Nal had a lot of experience in containing chaos that was her mind and - she also had powers that mended things and brought them back together. As one of the cube-shaped adornments on the scabbard pulsed with subtle, green light, so, too, did the gray girl's hand, strands of magic materialising, binding the fleeting power of her friend together into a shape. A fluid, squirming shape, tethered to the tablet, but also... Huh. Also that other place. That other thing. That other person.
"So this is how focus feels like."
The words were oddly calm and articulate, but soon, the majin's nature caught up with the sudden surge of sense and - turned into a single-minded fury, of sorts. Immediately, she turned to the door and took off, much to the anger and confusion of the cleaning staff and other customers in the bar they sat at, given her takeoff toppled several tables (and people sitting by them) with the shockwave.
Nal sensed - and with the spell in her hand, her already strong senses were hypertuned to that one target. She saw where it was, way under... hmm. That looked like it was under the sea. And as such, the majin bolted towards that way, with a visible sonic boom left in the sky where she paused to consider. Soon enough, there was another thunderclap as she rammed into the water, causing a colossal splash at the ludicrous speed she was at - cutting through the water with her gray-green aura and nearing the emanation that her sensing and the spell had shown. Rapidly making way towards what she perceived as the place where the person was, ignoring unimportant things the likes of big fish, bigger fish, or that island over ahead, which was oddly close to where the sensing came from...
And ironically, distracted by her focus, the majin slammed face-first into the island, causing a small crater in it. But the person was there and she could feel it. So, the majin focused her aura and tunneled through the sand up to the surface of a small bar island. The girl furiously looking around, there had to be it, it had to be here, somewhere! But there was nothing there... a lone palm tree, a rock... the girl went to pick up the rock, maybe there was something under it that led to where the person was? Though as she poked the rock, it waved weirdly and she felt disoriented for a moment.

The Professor was casually reading her emails from her former colleagues at West City University, while she read them all she wouldn’t dare reply or risk giving away her location, and there were two emails in particular that caught her attention. One was sent by Professor Nimoy, the message explained that two unenrolled students in his Ufology class were quite talented, and were interested in finding evidence that Tuffles were from another planet. The attachment labeled ‘Savina’ contained a clip of a seemingly metal alloy android powering up for a second with an explanation that she was made by Tuffles. A second attachment labeled ‘Juniper’ revealed a clip of a young woman painting sigils to heal the android. The other email was sent by Rango, a famous wealthy inventor who was also her classmate years ago, who developed the software to translate the tuffle language with a photo attachment labeled ‘Kiryu, Aisling, and Tiger Lily’. While the photo showed someone’s rear end sticking out of the wall beyond that there was a window with a black haired teenage boy talking to an orange haired teenage girl on the deck of the ship which she had been on before known as the Euphoria. The message read: Looking for Tuffle tech in the southern islands with a second hired crew of capable young fighters, avast they are only getting younger it seems, and we’re only getting older, yohoho. She printed all the images immediately on adhesive polaroid paper and stuck them all on the window of the control room overlooking a hangar below. The moment Nal walked over to the rock in an attempt to pick it up, she stepped on to a hidden teleporter platform, the projected rock had been hiding it, and she was instantly teleported in the undersea bunker directly under the sand bar island. The grey woman would find herself inside a tube, surrounded by small robots inside a control room of some kind, overlooking a submarine hanger, and Professor Poblano staring at her with curious dark eyes. She motioned over to a red button to release the majin from the cylinder tube which rotated her out, forcing her to step off the teleporter and into the control room. The tube then reformed again surrounding the teleporter base for the next victim who dared to enter her heavily enforced bunker. An unannounced visitor...with such smooth looking pristine grey skin. I am envious. My name is Pepper. Who might you be?...lurking about my base of operations?” The Professor extended her arms around Nal pinning her against a metal wall of machinery, breathing her in seductively, “Your breath smells sweet, too. May I have a taste? It gets rather lonely with robots...without skinship, especially one that is as lovely as yours.”[464] [1,470]

Kiryu was quite pleased that, with Nal's help, his spell took hold. Using his enhanced vision, Kiryu watched as the spell took shape just so, filing the shape of the lattices of energy and magic away for future reference. Likely, they would help him be able to replicate the spell all on his lonesome in the future, which could come in quite handy. As it was, Kiryu set off with Nal, the Majin following the tug of the imbued item to hone in on the hiding place of Professor Poblano. Nal seemed to not be in exact control of her abilities just yet; the sonic boom of her flight thundered through the air. Kiryu was forced to speed himself up to keep pace, though he kept shy of the sound barrier. He did not want to flare his power too greatly and betray his presence, not when they had sorted out their plan of attack.
Of course, the best laid plans of mice and men...
As Nal set about exploring the sandbar that the spell had led them to, some sort of... something caused the Majin to vanish entirely! Kiryu dashed forward, concerned, though he stayed clear of the rock that she had touched. Reaching out with his senses, Kiryu could feel Nal, now far beneath him. Kiryu was not entirely sure what was going on... but he knew that he would not leave his friend to face whatever had done this alone. Abandoning their plan of ambush, Kiryu focused on Nal's energy signature, and then, with a whispered incantation, Kiryu teleported to her side.
What the actual fuck? Robot army?
Kiryu swiftly took in the scene, observing Nal, surrounded by robots, and the young woman that, from all appearances, seemed to be their controller. Kiryu raised an eyebrow, a bit surprised at the youthful person in front of him... but he knew better than most to expect the unexpected.
"Well... Professor Poblano, I presume? You have misbehaved; domestic terrorism is a big no no for most people. I'm Kiryu Miyazawa, and I'm here to bring you in. We can go about this peaceably; I have no desire to harm you or any of your work. But you committed a crime, and you have to be brought to justice for that. So I guess the way this plays out is your call."
Kiryu did not make any aggressive gestures, but he did slightly shift his weight to the balls of his feet, readying himself for imminent danger. He hoped against hope that Professor Poblano would see reason and come willingly, but in his experience, the bad guys didn't simply give up. Kiryu's first choice was always peace, but he was no fool; he was always prepared to engage in violence.

POOF.
The majin appeared in a whole different place out of a sudden, blinking in surprise. She was... in a tube, of sorts? And then there was that huge army of robots, and that massive thing that looked like an underwater ship, and-
And then she was pushed against the wall. And breathed into. The majin canted her head at that, grinning in a friendly manner. "Hello! I like your hair, Imma going to borrow it" - she said, the hair tendrils already morphing to mimic the hairdo of the professor (ot at least the person Nal thought to be said professor - the only non-robot around had to be it, right?) - soon looking like a gray, shiny copy made out of a couple of thick, majin-y appendages rather than tons of small hairs. Nal always found hair fascinating, it had that tendency to take all manner of weird shapes that she then could copy - but not perfectly. In a way, she envied people with hair.
"I'm Nal. And my breath tastes like apple. I can give you apple breath too! Here, have some" - though perhaps not in the way the doctor expected, as the majin reached swiftly into one of pockets of her shorts, rapidly unwrapping an apple gum cube - to try and shove it into the woman's mouth, with a cheerful little grin. She was helping! Totally! "See? I'm not a robot, too, like you already noticed, so maybe I can make things less boring for a bit. Like-"
And then Kiryu just sort of appeared. And spoke. Nal nodded at that, shrugging slightly. "Like that, yes. I'm a distraction. Are you distracted? Did I do well?" - the excited, gray girl grinned ear to ear, just cheerfully staring at the doctor within awkwardly close distance from her. Except the majin wasn't aware there was anything awkward about it.
That, and she was just ready to go swinging when needed. A majin's spirit was eager and violent, even when it was coupled with Nal's own brand of logic.

Pepper accepted the apple candy in her mouth and proceeded to close the distance on Nal until Kiryu interrupted the near kiss she was going to plant on the Majin. After it was revealed that they were after her rather than mere coincidence, she immediately darted back, and even more tiny robots filled the room popping out of holes in the walls to surround them all. As she backed up on to a control panel, she turned a small key, and pulled it off by the chain looped around it. A siren went off, all the lights turned from white to red, of course she was prepared for intruders, and the loudspeaker engaged announcing a self destruction sequence in ten minutes. The submarine beyond the control room began to submerge under water, leaving only the top hatch opening visible, after it opened more robots were coming out of it.
The professor was not planning to stick around, she had been elusive for so many months, she was not going to fall into the hands of Capsule Corp who ruined everything she dedicated her life for.
“Not even science can fix a broken dream. Medication changes the chemicals in the brain and I refuse to allow it. Capsule Corp took everything from me and I destroyed everything before they got their greedy hands on it. It's all lies!”
